B
B
B
B
B
I
will
go
through
and
introduce
all
the
committee
members
and
staff
who
are
participating
virtually
for
our
committee
members.
Please
make
sure
to
mute
your
microphone
if
you
are
not
speaking
when
you
have
a
question
or
would
like
to
speak,
click
raise
hand
and
when
recognized
by
the
chair,
unmute
your
microphone,
please
remember
to
mute
your
phone
after
you
are
done.
Speaking
committee
members,
as
I
call
your
name,
please
say
a
quick
hello.
B
B
All
right,
so
I
think
this
that's
all
we
have
today,
but.
B
That's
it
there,
okay,
to
help
our
audience,
follow
I'll
stay
each
section
of
the
agenda
allowed
again.
I
ask
committee
members
to
click,
raise
hand
and
be
recognized
to
speak.
Please
state
your
name
each
time.
You
comment
just
a
reminder
that
the
public
is
listening
on
the
phone
and
this
keeps
them
up
to
date
on
the
order
of
the
meeting
and
who
is
commenting
or
speaking.
B
Next,
we
have
approval
minutes,
we
don't
have
quorum,
so
we're
gonna
move
on.
B
So
we'll
move
on
to
step
updates,
I'd
like
to
hear
from
city
liaison
brenda
mills.
A
Okay,
thank
you,
mr
chair,
I'd
like
to
take
the
opportunity
and
I'm
so
thrilled
to
tell
you.
We
are
fully
staffed
at
the
city
of
asheville,
marcus
kirkman
came
to
us
december
13th.
He
all
of
them
are
equity
and
inclusion,
consultants,
but
marcus
lee's
in
the
area
of
training
and
consulting
amazing
man,
I'm
gonna,
let
them
say
a
few
things
after
I
introduce
them
and
then
darion
blue
came
two
weeks
later.
A
He
is
the
marvelous
outreach
guy.
You
probably
some
of
you
have
met
him
recently
he's
been
out
and
about,
and
then
this
lovely
lady
beside
me
is
miss
elena
schmidt.
She
is
our
data
nerd.
I
call
her
that,
but
she
is
also
liaison
to
the
human
relations
commission.
She'll,
be
working
with
our
data
and
performance
folks
and
be
doing
a
lot
of
analytics
and
policy
review
around
policies,
practices
and
risk
procedures
that
you
know,
equity
is
charged
with
helping
to
update.
A
So
I
would
like,
for
the
guys
to
all
say
hello
and
tell
you
a
little
bit
about
themselves,
and
then
I
told
them
they
didn't
have
to
stay
here
after
5.
marcus.
You
want
to
start.
E
Thank
you
very
much
brenda
and
thank
you
for
the
opportunity
to
be
able
to
say
hello
and
introduce
ourselves
it's
wonderful
to
at
least
virtually
meet.
All
of
you.
I
am
a
native
of
north
carolina,
so
I
love
north
carolina
and
asheville.
Now
is
my
home
and
it
is
truly
a
pleasure
to
be
a
public
servant
to
the
community.
I
haven't
had
the
opportunity
to
meet
any
of
you
yet,
but
I
do
look
forward
to
that
and
I'm
a
retired
navy
veteran
of
22
years
here
in
asheville.
E
C
Hello,
how
y'all
doing
daring
in
blue,
I
echo
the
same
thing.
Marcus
said
it's
just
a
really
a
great
pleasure
to
to
be
able
to
be
a
public
servant
and
to
be
able
to
serve
you
guys
in
any
way.
You
need
us,
I'm
a
native
of
florida.
I
spent
time
in
south
carolina
time
in
georgia
time
out
of
the
country.
You
know
just
trying
to
make
sure
that
people
who
are
being
put
who
have
been
pushing
the
margins.
C
Man
have
a
fair
shot
at
life,
and
so
that's
what
my
heart
is,
and
so
I'm
really
enjoying
of
the
city
of
asheville
and
just
really
fighting
for
the
people.
Man,
I'm
working
with
alongside
miss
brenda
mills
who
is
marvelous
by
the
way
you
know
she's
a
genius
in
her
own
right.
You
know,
I
think,
though,
after
it's
all
said
and
done,
history
books
will
be
written
with
her
name
in
it,
and
so
we
certainly
thank
her
for
this
opportunity
and
I
look
forward
to
knowing
all
of
you
much
better.
Thank
you.
F
A
All
righty-
and
I
cannot
tell
you
how
excited
I
am
to
have
my
staff.
They
have
already
hit
the
ground,
we're
spending
february,
doing
21
days
of
connection
and
we've
had
probably
over
50
or
60
employees
attend
a
lunch
and
learn
every
wednesday,
and
this
week
they
they
are
outdid
themselves
and
they
had
them
in
breakout
rooms
and
so
we're
really
having
some
good
conversations
around
race
and
difference
and
those
types
of
things
and
bringing
everybody
along
because,
as
we
know,
equity
is
for
everyone.
A
We
know
that
it
specifically,
you
know,
hits
us
as
african-americans
or
our
gender
and
other
things,
but
we
are
coming
along
to
kind
of
have
those
conversations
really
getting
good
questions
from
people
which
is
awesome.
So
I'm
really
happy
with
that.
I'm
also
happy
to
say
that
we
received,
I
think
I
told
you
last
time.
I
think
we
got
55
applications
for
the
reparations
commission.
As
you
know,
neighborhoods
pick
their
own
representatives.
We
have
seven
area
neighborhood
areas
with
public
housing
having
three
representatives.
A
We
were
able
to
get
all
representatives
and
help
our
neighborhoods
to
kind
of
move
that
process
forward.
Their
information
is
due
back
to
the
project
manager
on
this
coming
tuesday
to
say
who
their
final.
You
know,
representatives
will
be
city
council
next
tuesday,
from
1
30
to
5,
we'll
be
interviewing
all
18
of
the
other
applicants.
A
We
got
such
great
applicants,
we
got
excellent
applicants
and
I
will,
I
will
say
much:
apologies
to
all
the
people
I
text
harassed
called
ran
you
down
in
the
grocery
store,
but
we
have
a
really
great
and
awesome
group
for
our
city
council
to
to
to
pick
from
the
project
manager
created
what
we
call
a
rubric.
A
So
there
are
objective
things
that
they'll
be
looking
for
prior,
like
they'll,
be
rating
them
prior
to
the
interviews
and
then,
after
the
interviews,
city
council
will
approve
everything
from
the
neighborhood
reps.
They
don't
get
vetted,
they
just
get
approved
by
city
council
and
they
will
push
forward
the
five
folks
that
they
would
like
to
recommend
for
criminal
justice,
economic
development,
education,
health
and
wellness
and
housing.
A
G
Thank
you,
chairman
for
the
county.
I
will
continue
to
the
county.
Sales
is
going
on
its
mission
with
their
buncombe
county,
20-year
comprehensive
plan,
and
so
we
strongly
encourage
residents
to
participate
in
that
process
due
to
the
covert
surge,
we
had
to
a
lot
of
our
in-person
meetings
have
had
to
be
rescheduled
and
we
have
a
new
scheduled
up
most
of
for
bunker
county's
information.
If
you
go
to
engage.buncombe.org,
you
can
go
to
our
public
input
page
and
find
out
about
the
comprehensive
plan.
Again.
G
A
comprehensive
plan
is
a
20-year
plan
for
the
future
of
buncombe
county
over
the
next
two
years,
we'll
be
engaging
with
community
and
gathering
they
input,
and
so
we
do
actually
have
a
meeting
today
coming
this
evening
coming
up
from
six
to
eight,
but
we
also
have
some
future
meetings
coming
up
next
thursday
february
the
24th
and
also
monday
march,
the
14th
and
saturday
march,
the
19th,
and,
as
I
mentioned
before,
if
you
go
to
engage.bunkum.org,
you
can
find
out
more
information
about
the
comprehensive
plan
and
stay
up
to
date,
and
so
we
over
the
next
few
years.
G
We
can
continue
to
strongly
encourage
as
much
participation
between
residents
of
bunking
county,
because
the
county
commissioners
want
to
hear
from
all
four
corners
of
the
county
to
feed
into
this
20-year
comprehensive
plan.
Another
thing
that
the
county
actually
actually
has
going
on
is
bunking
county's
community
recreation
grants
are
now
open.
The
application
for
the
community
community
recreation
grants
program
for
projects
that
take
place
from
july
2022
through
june
2023.
G
Community
recreation
and
grant
projects
represents
a
primary
goal
of
low-cost,
inclusive
wellness
and
therapeutic
opportunities
that
are
accessible
to
all
residents,
regardless
of
cultural,
physical,
cognitive
or
social
economic
background
eligible
entities,
including
buckingham
county
counties.
Non-Profits
that
focus
on
those
goals
are
the
applicants
that
they're
looking
for.
So
we
strongly
encourage
if
you
know
nonprofits
that
could
benefit
from
that
to
go
to
bunkingcounty.org.
G
Looking
under
the
community
recreation
grants
that
application
period
open
on
february,
the
7th
and
it'll
be
open
into
april
the
1st.
So
we
strongly
encourage
as
many
people
or
anybody
in
network
to
participate
in
that
process
and
also
we
also
continue
in
the
ad
hoc
reappraisal
committee.
G
Survey
is
still
up
and
is
up
and
posted
on
our
website
up
under
the
ad
hoc
reappraisal
committee,
and
you
can
find
that
on
that
same
page
as
engage.buncombe.org
under
the
ad
hoc
reappraisal
committee,
they
just
want
as
much
feedback
from
community
residents
of
bunking
county
about
the
reappraisal
process
and
allowing
the
ad
hoc
reappraisal
committee
to
factor
in
a
forces
in
that
communication
and
other
than
that.
That's
all
my
report.
I
have
for
bunking
county.
Thank
you.
B
Okay,
next
on
the
agenda,
we
have
unfinished
business.
We
want
to
talk
about
retreat
planning.
I
have
a
have
a
re
retreat
planning
discussion,
the
date
of
the
retreat
and
ideas
for
the
retreat.
I
hope
everyone
had
a
chance
to
look
at
the
the
work
plan.
So
it's
all
there.
B
We
have
a
working
on
a
listing
of
african-american
art
projects
in
the
area.
Consider
the
use
of
the
9
500
dollars
remaining
for
a
public
art
project
provided
by
the
city
of
asheville.
That
is
still
remaining
collaborating
with
the
upcoming
north
pack
square,
advanced
area
revision
working
with
dina
bailey
of
mountaintop
vision,
a
consulting
firm
that
supports
diversity,
equity,
accessibility,
inclusion
and
anti-racism
work
in
cultural
organizations,
mostly
museums
and
historical
sites,
and
recent
vacancies.
B
A
So
what
I'd
like
to-
and
I
don't
know
we're
missing
a
few
of
your
members.
Yes,
I
would
like
for
us
to
kind
of
come
up
with
a
date.
We
know
more
than
likely.
Most
people
cannot
be
taken
out
of
work
during
the
day.
A
I
have
a
few
dates
down,
but
I
wanted
to
make
sure
everybody
was
okay
with
the
date.
I
would
like
for
you
probably
to
consider
a
saturday
late
morning
like
a
10
to
two
o'clock,
and
I
don't
want
to
give
you
a
date.
A
The
other
thing
is
the
work
plan
that
I
put
in
your
meeting.
Packet
is
a
really
good
work
plan.
A
lot
of
hard
work
went
into
that
and
I
think,
taking
that
day,
maybe
the
first
two
hours
to
kind
of
work
through
that
work
plan
and
then
maybe
or
and
or
maybe
hear
some
presentations
first
because
we're
looking
at
inviting
some
people
and
then
work
through
a
couple
of
objectives
for
this
year.
Out
of
that
work
plan
and
talk
about
the
things
you've
already
done
and
yeah
and
just
get
that
updated.
A
Wanna
we
have,
we
have
a
a
facilitator
of
residence.
I
got
permission
to
ask
mr
marcus
kirkman.
Would
he
lead
you
through
your
retreat
process
and
work
planning
and
he
has
agreed
because
I
didn't
want
to
voluntole
anybody,
I'm
not
a
ball
and
told
person
so
I'll,
try
to
narrow
down
a
couple
of
dates
and
send
that
out
when
I
meet
with
the
chair
and
the
vice
chair
next
week.
A
A
Probably
a
working
lunch,
give
it
15
20
minutes
to
eat,
get
a
working
lunch
that
usually
works,
pretty
good.
You
can
you
don't
have
to
get
up
at
seven
in
the
morning
and
you
don't
have
to
be
there
until
after
five
in
the
evening
and
because
of
covey,
we
have
used
the
civic
center.
We
used
the
banquet
hall,
which
was
perfect.
A
We
were
able
to
spread
everybody
out,
folks
participated
in
groups
and
in
other
ways,
and
then
I'll
have
my
full
staff
there
to
kind
of
help
support.
You
know
your
work
and
once
we
put
the
agenda
together,
you
know
I
probably
would
share
it
with
the
whole
committee.
Just
let
everybody
just
start
asking
questions,
or
maybe
things
we
didn't
think
about,
and
then
we
just
go
from
there.
A
I
really
want
to
see
that
funding
that
you
have
at
9
500.
I
really
want
to
see
you
be
able
to
use
that.
I
know
stephanie
munsendall
in
planning
urban
design
had
asked
about
coming
to
speak
to
you
about
that.
So
I'll
make
some
connections
with
her
in
the
next
few
weeks
as
well,
and
then
yeah.
Let's
just
start
talking
about
things
that
we
can
go
ahead
and
do
the
powerful
work
of
getting
people
to
participate
at
the
school
systems
and
trying
to
put
some
meat
around
that.
A
You
know
even
even
even
small
steps
or
steps
right.
So
I
want
to
see
you
be
able
to
do
that.
So
I
I
just
thought.
Your
plan
that
you
worked
on
was
very
detailed
and
just
looking
at
where
you've
had
some
successes
and
then,
where
you
want
to
go
from
there.
B
It's
none
for
right
now,
so
I
like
to
ask
brenda
if
any
members
of
the
public
are
waiting
to
comment
live.
B
Okay,
so
next
we
have
a
future,
a
general
agenda
items.
Anyone
have
any
ideas
or
discussion
about
the
retreat
planning
or
decision
on
project
funds
from
the
city.
B
So,
okay,
mr
brandon,
oliver.
D
This
is
brandon
oliver,
hello,
everyone.
I
have
a
question
real
fast.
I
was
looking
over
the
the
annual
report
and
I
wanted
to
know
a
little
bit
more
about
the
school
board
meetings
and
the
representation.
If
we
know
anything
about
that,
if
we
set
anything
up,
some
people
in
the
community
have
reached
out
to
me
and
talked
to
me
about
it.
D
I
feel
like
this
would
be
a
great
place
to
discuss
that
some
of
those
funds,
since
we
know
money,
motivates
people
and
also
it
has
to
replace
the
time
that
they
may
not
be
at
work.
If
this
is
actually
going
to
be
happening,
some
of
those
funds,
I'm
just
saying,
could
possibly
go
to
supporting
something
like
that,
just
to
possibly
get
the
community
involved
more,
but
I'm
open
to
hear
whatever's
going
on
with
it.
Thank
you,
sir.
B
Yes,
sir,
thank
you.
Yeah.
That's
like
brendan
was
saying
that
that's
what
we
want
to
talk
about,
try
to
strategize
doing
the
the
retreat.
So
we
we're
going
to
be.
Hopefully
we
can
get
everybody
everybody
there,
so
we
can
hash
out
some
things.
We
really
need
to
move
in
that
area,
because
it's
it's
it's
well
needed
well
needed.
Thank
you.
A
I
also
wanted
to
add
a
good
question
brandon
when
we
talked
last
month
about
because
I
didn't
know
what
that
all
entailed
part
of
that
goal
of
most
of
that
goal
is
to
start
getting
the
african-american
community
to
start
representing
in
school.
So
you
know,
like
you,
may
work
all
day
you
can't
get
off,
but
me
and
beverly
are
retired
and
we've
got
time
to
go
over
there
and
volunteer
and
do
stuff.
A
That's
that
was
one
part
of
it
and
then
I
would
suggest
I
just
met
the
ashford
city
schools
foundation,
executive
director
a
couple
months
back.
Maybe
we
could
bring
her
along
about
some
things
that
might
be
able
to
help
us
be
able
to
get
more
connected
in
the
schools
and
then
part
of
darien
blue.
Our
outreach
coordinator's
job
is
to
work
with
people
along
with
some
school
programs.
A
We
have
a
lot
of
options
that
we
could
bring
to
bear
with
that.
So
I
can
have
him
to
start
doing
a
little
research
around
that
and
then
yeah.
We
just
come
up
with
some
objectives
we
want
to
get
to.
Like
I
said
some,
even
something
small
is
a
step
ahead
right
and
we
know
our
children
do
need
us
in
this
area.
So
does
that
help
mr
brandon.
B
D
D
It's
I
saw
it
on
there
and
it
got
me
excited
because
it's
actually
something
that's
been
brought
up
to
me
and
I'm,
like
you,
know
what
that's
that's,
a
big
part
of
our
future.
B
Absolutely
also,
if,
if
I
may
add,
I
have
like
maybe
six
kids,
that
what
I'm,
what
I'm
finding
with
dealing
with
the
schools,
the
county
and
the
city,
is
that
a
lot
of
them
a
lot
of
the
the
kids
and
the
families,
the
parents.
They
don't
really
have
proper
representation
for
when
they,
especially
with
the
iep
and
the
file
for
504..
B
Some
of
the
some
of
the
situations
with
accommodations.
Is
it's
not
really
helping
our
children
and
you
know,
as
far
as
the
accommodations
that
it's
only
you
know
more
breaks
and
smaller
testing
groups,
which
you
know.
Sometimes
it
requires
a
little
bit
more
accommodations
than
that
you
know,
especially
when
you're
dealing
with
you
know
children
with
attention
and
behavior
issues.
B
You
know
it
can
be
something
as
simple
as
just
breaking
down
things
step
by
step,
so
they
can
properly
understand
or
having
someone
to
read
questions
to
you.
So
they
you
know
it's
a
lot
of
things.
That's
that
needs
to
be
done,
but
a
lot
of
parents,
families,
don't
really
know
the
options
and
I
don't
even
really
understand
the
iep
or
how
it
could
work
for
them.
So
yeah.
It's
very
important,
I'm
looking
I'm
excited
about
it
and
looking
forward
to
to
getting
getting
that
done
myself.
A
This
is
brenda
mills
again,
your
liaison.
You
still
do
not
have
a
quorum,
so
we
can
move
the
minutes
of
january
13th.
I
believe
that
was
the
date
to
the
next
meeting
if
you
would
like,
and
we
can
call
for
anything
else
that
people
have
and
if
not,
you
can
adjourn.
B
That
sounds
good.
Anyone
else
comments,
ideas.
C
B
All
right,
the
next
regular
meeting
is
scheduled
for
thursday
march
10
2022.
B
And
remains
virtual
check
on
the
city's
engagement
hub
for
more
directions
on
how
to
participate.
I
will
now
join
the
meeting
unless
any
objections.
