Thank
you
please
rise
for
invocation
and
the
pledge
of
allegiance.
A
Heavenly
father
we
come
before
you
this
afternoon,
thanking
you
for
the
guidance
and
the
understanding
that
you
have
given
this
board
of
commissioners.
Lord,
we
ask
again
today
for
your
help
and
direction,
so
this
board
may
make
the
fair
and
proper
decisions
for
all
citizens
of
bay
county
in
your
holy
name.
We
ask
this
amen.

F
This
time,
I'd
like
to
call
on
jen
to
give
us
a
little
update,
I
know
she's
been
working,
feverishly,
I've
been
signing
an
awful
lot
of
stuff
and
it
all
looks
good.
Give
us
a
little
background
on
this.
Cares
funding
and
the
grant
jen.
H
Okay,
thank
you,
commissioner.
Duran
check.
So
this
michigan
strategic
fund
offered
up
some
cdbg
funds.
They
were
given
20.5
million
of
the
cares
money
to
distribute
through
the
counties
a
lot
of
it
was
based
on
their
hud
allocations
or
housing
or
and
or
health
department
or
health
needs
throughout
the
community.
H
H
The
one
difference
that
we
have
in
this
grant
request
that
we
haven't
had
in
others
is
that
this
grant
was
actually
available
to
other
local
units
of
government
within
bay
county,
so
our
share
of
the
20
million
dollars
was
281
hundred
and
fourteen
dollars
of
these
of
this
funds
available.
We
can
actually
and
have
actually
contacted
some
of
our
townships
to
see
if
they
had
any
expenses
that
were
not
covered
by
any
other
funding
source
that
were
unbudgeted
that
they
ran
into
for
the
covet
expense.
H
We
found
that
there
are
quite
a
few.
The
one
stipulation
that
we
do
have
is
we
had
another
grant,
which
was
the
replacement
of
our
revenue
sharing
money.
The
townships
that
receive
revenue
sharing
will
have
to
put
their
covet
expenses
to
that
first,
because
we
don't
want
them
to
lose
their
revenue
sharing
replacement
funds.
So
this
cdbg
grant
that
we
are
asking
for
this.
281
000
will
go
to
cover
any
non-covered
expenses
that
bay
county
itself
and
its
townships
have
run
into
that.
No
other
funding
source
would
cover.
D
Dan,
who
would.
E
H
They
can
actually
contact
my
office,
the
finance
office
and
julie.
The
prairie
in
our
office
has
been
actually
working
with
that,
but
the
through
the
other
grant
some
of
the
ones
that
actually
received
the
revenue
sharing.
Some
of
the
cities
actually
received
their
own
cdbg
funds,
because
if
they
actually
had
current
cdbg
grants,
they
have
a
separate
qualification.
E
Mr
marshall
yeah,
I
just
wanted,
as
I
did
last
month.
I
know
it
might
have
been
a
little
confusing
then,
but
I
just
wanted
to
throw
out
another
accolade
for
our
finance
department
and
also,
mr
chairman,
also
the
all
the
extra
work
you've
been
expending
to
make
sure
that
bay
county
recovers
any
revenue
that
we've
expended
related
to
cobit
19
that
we're
getting
reimbursed
for,
and
I
think,
if
we
look
at
our
finance
department
and
the
administration's
efforts
on
recouping
a
lot
of
those
financial
outlays,
we're
we've
done
really
well
and
jan.
E
I
want
to
thank
you
and,
on
behalf
of
some
of
the
township
officers
and
officials,
that
I
talked
to
they're
very
pleased
that
they
may
get
some
reimbursement
through
the
county
with
this
cd
bg
money.
So
I
appreciate
jen
what
all
you
and
your
staff
are
doing,
and
also
to
the
board
and
to
the
chairman.
Thank
you
for
the
extra
effort
you're
putting
forth
to
make
sure
that
bay
county
recovers
any
and
all
federal
and
state
revenue
that
we
can
to
get
the
job
done
here
in
bay
county.
Thank
you.
H
C
Yeah
so
midmichigan
community
action
agency
gets
cdbg
money,
but
I
think
that's
that's
separate
from
the
coronavirus
money,
and
I
know
that
some
of
that
goes
to
bay
city.
That's
for
housing
and
you
know
different
things.
So
I
guess
this
is
probably
a
different
stream
of
money
coming
in
because
of
the
coronavirus
right
jam.
H
Correct
this
is
just
cares
money.
It
is
separate
from
regular
cdbg's
grants.
We
currently
don't
have
a
current
cdbg
grant
through
bay
county,
the
last
one
we
had,
the
housing
grant
ended
a
year
ago,
so
we
don't
have
a
current
one,
but
we're
still
eligible
for
this
grant
because
of
having
you
know
the
population
and
the
housing
need.

All
right,
thank

Are
there
any
unfinished
business
new
business
miscellaneous
as
always
these
meetings,
this
meeting
would
not
be
possible
without
the
dedicated
staff,
and
today
we,
the
ladies
got
it
done
jody
and
julie.
F
Thank
you
so
much
good
job
and
we're
working
on
us
we're
going
to
get
a
hold
of
our
health
director,
mr
straws,
and
we're
going
to
try
and
do
an
october
meeting
in
the
commission
chambers
and
figure
out
a
way
to
spread
everybody
out
safely
so
deanna
and
I
have
been
in
conversation
and
we're
going
to
bring
joel
in
on
the
conversation
here
in
the
next
couple
of
days.
So
that's
the
hopes
for
that.
Any
other
announcements.
C
G
Thank
you,
mr
chair.
Just
we
are
doing
an
abyssal
empty,
the
shelter
event,
