From YouTube: BCP Libraries Storytime: Bear Cant Sleep
Description
Winter is coming and Bear can’t sleep. Oh how he rumbles and grumbles, and growls and howls! “That bear sounds angry!” cry the animals. “What if he comes after us?” But Patch the Hare isn’t scared of any old bear and soon he has a brilliant idea!
Children will love following Patch’s adorably madcap schemes in this gently humorous tale told by Broadstone Library staff.

Let's
see
what's
this,
it's
all
about,
it
was
winter
and
all
the
animals
were
busy
soon
the
forest
would
be
covered
in
snow
fox,
gathered
wood
for
winter
fires,
while
owl
and
squirrel
made
pickles
and
jam
patch.
The
hair
tried
to
help,
but
it
got
in
everyone's
way
as
usual.
A
A
Leave
me
be
snap,
the
bear
I
need
to
sleep
and
he
shuffled
into
the
cave,
but
the
bear
could
not
sleep
day
and
night.
He
rolled
rumbled.
He
growled.
He
howled.
That
bear
sounds
angry,
said
fox.
What
if
he
comes
after
a
squeak
mouse,
maybe
he's
hungry
said
squirrel
I'll.
Take
him
some
food
said
patch.
I'm
not
scared
of
any
old
bear
patch
made
a
huge
stack
of
blueberry
and
pickled
onion
sandwiches.
I'd
loaded
them
onto
his
scooter,
mr
bear
he
called
whizzing
over.
A
A
Suddenly
his
scooter
hit
a
rock
crash
down.
You
tumbled
right
on
top
of
the
blueberry
and
onion
sandwiches
splat
from
inside
the
cave
came
a
terrible,
roar,
be
quiet
out
there
bare
bellowed
or
else
oh
big,
squeak
mouse
he's
coming
to
get
us.
Oh
quick,
cried
out
hide
all
the
animals
hid
except
patch
who
picked
up
one.
Not
so
squashed
sandwiches
and
walked
sandwich
and
walked
right
up
to
the
dark
cave
come
back
here,
hair
fox
cord,
but
pat
tiptoed
closer
as
patch
peeked
in
he
heard,
bear
sigh,
I'm
old
and
I'm
cold.
A
I'm
too
shiver
cold
to
sleep,
he's
not
hungry
patch
whispered,
he's
cold,
oh
poor
old,
bear
all
day
long
patch.
Couldn't
stop
worrying
about
bear
finally
lay
down
under
a
tree
to
think,
as
he
looked
at
the
leaves
made
of
patchwork
against
the
evening
sky
patch
had
an
idea
that
night,
he
tiptoed
through
the
forest
borrowing
three
things
from
the
animals
and
patch
pinned
and
stitched
until
dawn
when
the
animals
woke.
They
were
hopping
mad.
A
My
pajamas,
my
apron,
my
undies.
Just
then
patch
appeared
he
spread
a
beautiful
patchwork
quilt
on
the
ground.
You
took
my
shirt
exclaimed
fox.
I
only
meant
to
help
said
patch,
but
the
animals
fast
and
shouted
all
the
more
suddenly
bear
stomped
into
the
clearing
he
lifted
fox
into
the
air.
I
said,
be
quiet.
A
He
rod,
I'm
trying
to
sleep
with
the
animals
shook
with
fear
except
patch.
Of
course,
patch
jumped
onto
a
stump,
don't
be
cross,
mr
bear
he
begged.
We
bought
you
a
present.
Look
it's
made
from
clothes
borrowed
from
all
the
animals
the
old
bear
sniffed.
Then
gently
set
fox
down.
You
gave
your
things
to
me.
He
said
what
fine
friends
you
are.
Oh,
we
made
you
a
quilt
to
keep.
You
warm
bear
clutched
the
cozy
quilt
to
his
furry
chest
and
shuffled
back
into
the
cave.
