From YouTube: 2022 Military Appreciation Day
Description
This Military Appreciation day event celebrates active-duty servicemembers, veterans and retired military members. Food, family fun, and a warm welcome are the hallmarks of Military Appreciation Day.
This year’s event will be held outdoors at Naval Heritage Park in Port Royal, adjacent to the Naval Hospital, on Saturday, November 19 from 1pm to 3pm.
This annual event is the business community’s opportunity to show appreciation for the men and women in uniform at our region’s military installations and thank them for their service to our country and to our community.

is
a
small
token
of
this
community's
appreciation
for
the
men
and
women
in
uniform
and
all
they
do
to
serve
and
protect
our
great

in
various

executive

After
34

colonel
puglisi
was
named
chairman
of
the
military
enhancement
committee
for
Beaufort
County
and
appointed
to
the
governor's
military
base
task
force.
G
All
right
Speedy!
Thank
you
very
much
for
that.
For
that
introduction
there,
a
pretty
big
introduction
appreciate
it.
Well,
how
do
you
have
a
bad
day
in
Beaufort,
South
Carolina,
you
just
don't
do
you
I
mean
how
this
it
doesn't
get
much
better
than
this.
So
thank
you
all
for
showing
up
today.
This
is
a
this
is
fantastic
and
there's
no
place
that
I
would
rather
be
than
here
today
with
our
friends
here
in
in
Beaufort.
G
Now
the
military
enhancement
committee
we're
a
as
was
stated
here,
we're
a
committee
of
the
chamber.
We
were
founded
about
20
years
ago
two
decades
ago
in
order
to
attend
to
this
fantastic
military,
Community
relationship
and,
and
we've
been
doing
it,
it's
kind
of
the
linkage
between
government,
government
and
business,
and
it's
been
pretty
strong
here
for
the
past
two
decades
and
I
suspect
it's
going
to
be
strong
for
many
more
decades
to
come.
Now.
What's
the
mission
of
the
mech
plain
and
simple,
we
protect
enhance,
grow.
G
The
presence
of
our
military
community
and
I
just
want
to
say
that
that
our
military
Community,
what
we
consider
our
military
Community,
is
really
all
the
above.
So
you've
got
your
active
duty.
You've
got
your
retirees.
You've
got
your
veterans.
You've
got
your
spouses,
you've
got
others
that
support
it.
So
we're
really
taking
a
look
at
everybody
in
support
of
our
our
military
community
and
what
we
do.
We
make
sure
that
those
policy
makers
at
every
level
of
government
understand
the
importance
of
what
is
happening
right
here
in
Beaufort
South
Carolina.
G
That's
all
the
way
from
our
federal
delegation,
our
state
delegation
leaders
at
the
county
level
leaders
at
the
local
level,
so
they
fully
understand
and
continue
to
understand
what
the
importance
of
this
of
what
this
is
and
I
can
tell
you
we
are
going
to
be
around
for
for
many
many
more
years.
I
am
absolutely
certain
that
we're
going
absolutely
nowhere
now.
Also
serving
with
me,
is
our
vice
chair,
Colonel,
Warren,
Parker,
USMC,
retired
Jimmy,
Boozer
who's,
our
Treasurer
Terry
Maude.
Where
are
you
Terry
and
Jimmy
you
out
there
somewhere?
G
Oh
there
they
are
Carlton
Dallas,
Lieutenant,
Colonel,
Caroline,
Fuhrman,
USMC,
retired
Lisa,
philp
of
Court
Ed
Saxon.
Everyone
remembers
knows
Ed
from
Buford
Jasper
water
and
Colonel
John
Coley
from
the
greater
Island
Coalition
in
in
Hilton
Head.
Now
our
partners
include
everybody
from
the
state
all
the
way
down
to
the
local
levels.
G
Our
priorities
are
three
of
them
really
make
no
mistake.
One
of
our
priorities
is
National
Defense.
We
support
what
our
military
does,
because
it's
good
for
National,
Defense,
plain
and
simple.
If
it
wasn't
good
for
military
for
National,
Defense
I
would
not
be
here
today
and
I
know
that
many
others
would
not
be
here
as
well.
So
it's
absolutely
critically
critically
important
Paris,
Allen,
hey
they
make
Marines
they've
been
making
Marines
since
1915
and
they're
going
to
be
making
Marines
for
another
100
years
at
least
Marine
Corps,
Air
Station.
G
Of
course,
what
do
they
do?
They
train
the
best
and
the
brightest
period
dot.
That's
what
they
do
to
be
deployed
in
in
locations
yet
to
be
yet
to
be
seen,
I'm
sure
in
the
Naval
Hospital
the
Naval
Hospital
keeps
us
all
going.
They
keep
us
all
healthy
and
going,
and
they
also
are
the
stewards
for
the
for
the
veterans,
administration
and
so
a
little
known
there
are
25
000
veterans
in
Beaufort
County.
G
G
Thank
you
all
very
much
for
the
support
that
you've
given
us
and
that
you're
going
to
give
us
in
the
future
we're
on
Facebook
and
we're
on
the
on
the
Beaufort
Mech
webpage.
So
visit
us
now,
I'm
going
to
be
introducing
three
phenomenal
officers
today.
The
first
is
Captain
Chad
Rowe
he's
the
CEO
of
the
Naval
Hospital
B
also
holds
many
other
roles
that
I'm
sure
he's
going
to
talk
about.
G
Colonel
Carl,
Arbogast
Gass
from
the
air
station
in
Colonel,
Rich,
Drummond,
who's,
the
chief
of
staff
from
Paris
Island
now,
Captain
Roe
Captain
row
is
a
native
of
Indiana,
again
he's
the
CEO
of
the
naval
hospital
and
he
also
wears
a
couple
other
a
couple
of
their
hats.
He
got
his
ba
in
health
care
administration
from
Indiana
University
and
he
got
his
MBA
from
Ball
State.
G
He
was
commissioned
in
1996
and
he
has
served
in
a
wide
variety
of
roles
within
the
Department
of
Defense,
really
supporting
Warriors
those
who
are
getting
ready
to
go
to
War.
The
families
he's
got
26
years
of
service,
thus
far,
and
probably
many
many
more
to
many
more
to
to
come,
but
really
kind
of
the
glue
here
for
our
our
medical
effort
here
in
here
in
Beaufort,
and
we're
very
happy
to
have
him
Captain
Roe.
The
floor
is
yours.
H
Well,
thank
you
for
that
kind.
Introduction
and
first
of
all,
I
want
to
say
good
afternoon
and
glad
to
see
you
can
all
come
out
today.
I
really
appreciate
the
opportunity
to
to
talk
a
little
bit
today
and
just
say
how
much
we
are
appreciated.
The
Navy
the
Navy
staff
is
primarily
the
Navy
here
is,
is
run
by
the
hospital,
Navy
installation
and
the
great
cooperation
and
appreciation
we
feel
from
the
community.
H
We
fill
that
day
in
and
day
out,
a
lot
of
strong
Partners
nice
to
see
Beaufort
Memorial
Hospital,
a
strong
partner
in
ours
that
we'd
like
to
recognize,
as
well
as
providing
care
for
our
service
members
and
a
little
bit
about
what
we
do.
You
know
we
have
about
800
staff
here
that
take
care
of
the
Marines.
Wherever
you
know,
if
you
didn't
know,
we
support
all
the
Marines
and
wherever
the
Marines
go,
we
go
and
that's
what
we
we
do
here.
H
We
support
them
on
the
air
station,
making
sure
that
they
maintain
those
aviators,
the
aviation
Crews
and
keeping
those
jets
in
the
air
and,
of
course,
we
also
support
Force
generation
of
making
Marines
out
of
Paris
Island.
So
if
a
little
fun
fact
we
have,
this
is
the
second
largest
concentration
of
dentists
in
the
Navy.
We
have
over
50
dentists
to
be
able
to
Surge
a
lot
of
people.
Who've,
maybe
never
seen
a
dentist
in
their
life,
and
one
of
the
exciting
things
here
is
to
be
able
to.
H
You
know,
bring
that
care
to
our
our
future
Warriors.
As
far
as
our
hospital,
we
provide
everything
from
you
know,
providing
flu
shots
all
the
way
to
orthopedic
surgery
and
everything
in
between
there.
You
know
20
plus
specialties,
and
we
provide
ongoing
care
for
the
spectrum
of
care.
As
Colonel
mentioned,
we
have
obviously
we
support
our
active
duty.
They
have
to
do
family
members,
retirees
and
we
also
house
the
Veterans
Affair
inside
of
our
Command
and
enjoy
that
relationship
as
we've
had
that
for
years.
H
H
We
specifically
are
getting
ready
to
build
an
additional
dental
clinic
in
a
few
few
years
of
2026,
we'll
be
expanding,
some
of
our
Dental
capabilities
on
Paris
Island
and
we're
going
to
looking
at
building
a
new
Marine
Corps
Air
stations,
Branch
Health
Clinic,
and
see
what
we'll
do
there
may
have
a
potential
surgical,
Suites
as
well,
and
so
what
we
will
do
is
continue
to
support
them
and
and
move
forward
and
just
really
appreciate
the
opportunity
to
provide
care
to
our
Warriors
out
there
and
with
that
I'll
turn
it
back.
G
Okay,
the
next
up
here
that
we're
going
to
introduce
is
Colonel.
Carl
Arbogast
goes
by
call
sign
gas.
Now,
I
have
no
gas
for
now
20
20
some
odd
years
ago,
and
when
we
were,
you
know
overseas,
doing
doing
the
work
of
the
nation
and
what
a
cool
cool
cucumber
then
and
now
just
a
completely
unflappable
exactly
what
you
would
have
pictured.
In
a
in
a
leader,
gas
joined
the
Marine
Corps
in
1989.
He
got
a
BS
in
forestry,
I
didn't
even
know.
G
There
was
a
degree
in
forestry,
but
apparently
there
is
I
tell
you
what
fantastic
became
an
aviator
in
1997
and
of
course
he
flew
Huey's
uh-1
ends
he's
a
graduate
of
a
number
of
the
Marine
Corps
best
schools
best
education.
He
served
in
a
wide
variety
of
assignments,
both
in
on
the
staff
and
in
command
and
in
combat
and
in
supporting
supporting
environments.
He
served
on
some
of
the
most
sensitive
positions
within
the
Department
of
Defense
and
to
cap.
G
J
Appreciate
it
pug
good
to
see
you
again
and
I
think
the
last
time,
if
you
remember
we
deployed
it,
was
at
Sea,
so
we've
spent
some
time
with
on
ship
together,
so
I've
known
plug
for
quite
some
time,
good
man.
So,
as
pug
said,
I'm
Colonel,
Carl
Arbogast,
everybody
calls
me
gas.
You
would
think
that
a
degree
in
forestry
wouldn't
really
apply
to
life
in
the
Marine
Corps,
but
considering
the
fact
that
I've
got
a
range
in
Georgia
of
34
000
Acres
of
trees.
J
That
forestry
degree
is
actually
coming
a
little
bit
used.
So
it's
been
kind
of
nice
to
to
have
that
that
experience,
so
I've
been
the
CEO
now
for
about
two
and
a
half
years,
and
one
of
the
most
important
things
that
I've
noticed
since
I've
been
here
is
just
the
unending
support
of
this
very
welcoming
Community
here
in
Beaufort
and
all
the
places
that
I've
been
stationed.
I've
never
seen
a
more
supportive
community
and
I
really
appreciate
that,
because
of
all
that,
support,
I.
J
Consider
that
a
Cornerstone
to
the
success
of
my
air
station
and
the
mission
that
they
do
and
you
can
see
it
in.
What's
happening
on
the
earth
station
today,
we
just
finished
building
a
new
Hangar
a
couple
of
months
ago,
and
we
put
the
FRS
the
F-35
Squadron
in
that
hangar
in
doing
so.
That
allowed
us
to
start
building
even
more
and
doing
other
work
that
we
needed
to
do
on
the
air
station.
J
So
when
I
talk
to
folks,
I've
been
saying
this
for
for
a
couple
of
months
now,
if
you
see
what
is
going
on
on
that
base,
we're
here
to
stay,
the
air
station
was
became
a
Marine
Corps
Air
Station
on
March
1st
of
1960,
and
we're
projected
to
have
f-35s
flying
in
the
airspace
over
Beaufort
until
2067.,
that's
107
years
of
marine
aviation
in
Beaufort
County,
and
it's
going
to
stay.
It's
awesome
to
see
it,
and
it's
a
lot
of
this
is
about
the
support
we
see
in
the
community.
J
It
really
is
so
today,
I'd
just
like
to
take
a
short
moment
to
take
the
time
to
personally
thank
the
Beaufort
Regional
Chamber
of
Commerce
Lockheed
Martin,
the
folks
that
have
set
this
up
the
sponsors
today.
All
the
coordinators
are
putting
this
thing
together
and
the
opportunity
not
only
to
say
thank
you
for
all
that
this
community
does
but
at
the
same
time
recognizing
our
our
military,
both
the
the
active
duty
and
our
veterans
here
in
the
in
the
local
area.
J
B
G
All
right,
thank
you
very
much
all
right,
the
next
one.
Now
folks,
don't
really
realize
it,
but
the
well.
Maybe
they
do,
but
actually
the
Hospital
and
Paris
Island
are
actually
in
and
where
we
are
right
now
is
actually
in
Port
Royal,
so
hey,
Port
Royal.
Thank
you
very
much
for
hosting
this.
For
so
many
years
the
next
one
up
is
going
to
be
Colonel
Rich
Drummond.
Now
Colonel
Drummond
is
a
graduate
of
the
Citadel
he's,
the
chief
of
staff
for
Paris,
Allen
and
Eastern
recruiting
region
now,
Paris
Island
they
make
Marines.
G
We
all
know
that,
but
the
other
part
of
the
job,
which
is
a
very
very
difficult
part
of
the
job,
is,
is
doing
the
work
in
eastern
recruiting
region.
That
means
that
the
same
general,
that's
responsible
for
training,
20,
000
Marines
a
year
up
to
20
000
Marines
a
year
is
also
responsible
for
recruiting
them
at
800
locations.
East
of
Mississippi,
so
he's
in
charge
of
recruiting
everything,
east
of
Mississippi
and
training
and
they've
been
doing
that
for
a
while
and
they're
going
to
be
doing
it.
G
For
a
long
time
now,
Colonel
Drummond
joined
the
Marine
Corps.
In
1994
as
an
infantry
officer-
and
he
remained
an
immature
officer
throughout
his
entire
career,
coincidentally,
he
did
serve
a
tour
here
at
Paris
Island
in
1998.
As
a
as
a
series
Commander,
he
has
served
in
a
wide
variety
of
roles,
also
within
the
Department
of
Defense,
and
really
some
of
the
most
sensitive
areas.
So,
for
instance,
he
served
with
the
United
States
Special
Operations
Command.
G
He
served
at
virtually
every
level
of
the
Marine
Corps
infantry,
going
from
the
platoon
to
the
company,
to
the
Battalion,
to
the
regiment,
to
the
Marine
Expeditionary
Unit
to
the
Marine
Expeditionary
Force,
to
the
divisions
he
has.
He
has
seen
it
all
now
in
command
and
in
staff
and
and
I
will
tell
you
that
that
he's
got
three
combat
tours
very
well.
Traveled
I.
H
K
K
Criminal
Rich,
streaming
and
I
would
just
like
to
start
by
acknowledging
all
of
our
special
guests
that
are
here,
our
elected
officials
and
probably,
most
importantly,
our
active
duty
and
our
veterans
and
their
families,
which
this
day
is
really
all
about,
and
I
want
to
thank,
in
particular,
the
Mac
Neil
and
all
of
the
the
members
of
the
military,
enhanced
Community
Committee,
as
well
as
the
chamber
and
all
of
the
sponsors
and
everybody
that
that
put
so
much
into
making
this
a
special
day
for
the
community
and
for
our
veterans.
K
We
we
at
Paris
Island,
are
particularly
proud
of
our
our
part
of
the
South
Carolina
low
country
and
our
contribution
to
that
and
as
Neil
and
several
other
people
have
mentioned,
we've
our
mission's
pretty
simple
and
it
hadn't
changed
since
1915
and
that's
to
make
Marines
and
about
19.
000,
young
men
or
women
a
year
show
up
to
Paris
Island
and
they
go
through
training,
and
then
they
go
from
there
off
to
all
parts
of
the
Marine
Corps
and
serve
in
all
different
places
in
the
world.
K
And
I
will
tell
you
that
of
the
over
5000
or
so
men,
women,
Marine,
Sailors
and
civilians
that
serve
on
Paris
Island.
You
know
we
like
to
say:
Paris:
Island
is
our
duty
station,
but
the
South
Carolina
Lilo
countries
are
home
and
we
believe
that
because
of
this
tremendous
community
and
the
tremendous
support
that
we
get
all
the
time
so
I
want
to
thank
each
of
you
for
that
and
I
I
would
hope
that
each
of
you
has
a
wonderful
time
here.
K
A
Well,
it's
so
great
to
be
here.
We
are
the
parasaila
Marine
bands,
popular
music
group,
Iron
Mike,
and
we're
so
glad
that
I've
been
invited
here
today
to
celebrate
something
that's
pretty
near
and
dear
to
all
of
our
hearts,
and
that
is
honoring
and
celebrating
our
nation's
military
members,
both
past
and
present.
C

A
And
the
awesome
thing
is
we
come
from
all
different
parts
of
the
country
and
back
on
Paris
Island.
We
have
even
more
of
us
that
come
from
all
different
kinds
of
backgrounds,
but
we
all
get
to
come
together
to
events
like
these,
the
towns
like
Beaufort
and
around
the
surrounding
areas
to
serve
youth
here
today,
but
through
music.
So
thank
you
for
allowing
us
to
be
part
of
service
for
you.

Thank
you
and
thank
you
to
everybody
who
has
stood
for
all
of
your
services
now
at
this
time.
Unfortunately,
we
have
one
more
song,
but
you
can
follow
us
all
year
round
on
Facebook
at
the
official
parasaila
Marine
band.
So
if
you
have
a
Facebook,
you
can
open
it
up
and
you
can
go
to
the
pages
and
you
can
like
our
page
specifically
dedicated
to
the
Paris
Island
band,
which
features
us
Iron
Mike,
the
dirty
boots,
Brass
Band.
We
also
have
our
concert
band
and
we'd
love
to
keep
hearing
from
you
all
year
round.

C
A
N
You
are,
you
guys
are
really
awesome.
I
won't
tell
you
where
I
was
yesterday.
Fort,
Bragg
and
I
listened.
N
N
We
are
so
fortunate
not
only
to
have
the
pass
by,
because
I
won't
be
able
to
talk
over
it
not
only
to
protect
defend
our
nation,
but
they
also
add
a
patriotic
Flair
to
a
special
day
like
today.
N
However,
we
do
have
three
campuses
in
on
the
west
coast
in
California,
since
our
founding
we've
been
a
military
friendly
college
and
I
have
the
pleasure
of
meeting
active
duty,
service
members
and
Veterans
every
day,
as
I
mentioned
at
Fort
Bragg
yesterday.
My
role
helps
them
to
reach
their
educational
goals
and
as
well
as
employment,
because
we
do
try
to
employ
those
military
members
as
well.
We
understand
the
plight
of
the
military
spouse.
I
am
one
and
how
there's
a
challenge
always
to
find
employment.
So
we
try
to
assist
with
that
as
well.
N
We
are
proud
to
be
members
of
the
Beaufort
Chambers,
so
we
have
the
opportunity
to
spread
the
word
about
National
University,
if
some
of,
if
someone
is
interested
in
our
special
programs
or
our
employment
opportunities,
remote
employment
opportunities,
please
stop
by
my
booth
over
in
the
corner
by
the
sheriff's
department
now
to
introduce
the
elected
officials
leading
this
military
friendly
Community.
Please
welcome
Beaufort
chamber
president
Ian
Scott
give
Ian
a
round
of
applause.
E
N
E
Hey
Donna,
thank
you
and
thanks
again
to
everybody
who
came
out
today
for
military
appreciation
day
before
we
wrap
up
this
program
and
send
you
all
out
to
visit
the
sponsors
and
exhibitors
who
made
today
possible.
We
want
to
thank
all
of
our
local
elected
officials
and
there's
so
many
of
them
here.
What
I'd
like
to
ask
is
to
have
everybody
who's
serving
in
elected
office
representing
Beaufort
County,
the
city
of
Beaufort
and
our
hosts
here
in
the
town
of
Port
Royal.
E
E
O
P
Is
not
going
to
work
from
Daniel?
Thank
you.
Everybody
appreciate
everybody
coming
out
here,
we're
real,
proud
in
Port
Royal
to
host
this
this
event
here
in
the
naval,
Heritage
Park
in
front
of
the
naval
hospital.
We
can't
thank
you
enough
for
coming
out
here
and
we
we
really
really
want
to
remind
everybody
once
again
that
we
support
all
the
military,
the
veterans,
the
active
everybody
who
Services
those
communities.
If
you
ever
need
anything
from
the
town
of
Port
Royal,
any
of
our
elected
officials,
please
reach
out
to
us
mayor.
Q
Q
Out
in
front

how
about
that
is
that,
okay,
all
right!
Thank
you,
mayor
DeVito.

Q
Foreign,
our
military
community,
and
not
only
our
active
duty
folks,
but
their
spouses
and
kids,
who
make
quite
a
sacrifice
to
make
sure
that
most
of
us
sleep
comfortably
at
night.
Knowing
that
mission
Readiness

and
so,

there's
anything,
the

ever

in
the
military
Community.
Please
don't
hesitate
to
reach
out,
but
thanks
again
to
the
town
of
Port
Royal
for
hosting
in
the
park
Ian

crew
with
the

of

Anything

Let

know!
