not
asked

asked

the
current
Parks
director

asking
that
we
consider
reallocating
that
funding
for
a
shelter
to
go
at
Rogers
Park
Rogers
Park
is
probably
the
most
heavily
utilized
Park
in
Beaumont,
and
currently
there
is
no
shelter
there.
There
is
a
gazebo
which
I've
given
you,
a
pictures
of
which
is
barely
big
enough
for
one
picnic
table.

what
we're
finding
is
that
in
the
mornings
on
the
weekends
there's
a
Mad
Dash
to
lay
claim
to
the
Gazebo,
because
there's
not
enough
shelters
out
there,
West
End,
Beaumont,
War
Two,
there's
only
three
parks
in
ward.
Two,
if
you
don't
count,
the
municipal
athletic,
complex
and
Rogers
Park
is
in
need
of
some
care
and
help
include
also
in
the
packet
that
I
gave
you
some
pictures
of
some
of
the
playground
equipment
and
you
can
see
how
badly
deteriorated
it
is.

pretty
much
empty
so
with
with
that,
I
think
that
we
could
better
utilize
those
funds
to
put
a
shelter
at
Rogers
Park
so
that
the
people
that
live
around
there
and
that
utilize
Rogers
Park
will
have
something

we
did
at
Sprott
Park
in
April
that
we
already
have
an
idea
of
how
much
that's
going
to
cost
and
a
a
vendor.
That's
capable
of
doing
that.

that's

reason
for
my

frequently
visited

become
best
part
and
babes

funding

to
the
parks
that

utilized

most

filter
out

the
money
was

allocated

last

try

February
was
finally
approved
by
this
Council
that
lists
the
projects
and
what
to
do
so,
it
was

was
thoroughly
debated
and,
of
course,
things
change
and
we
realized
things
changed.

around

dollars.

we
want
to
go
with
adding

type
of
playground
or
equipment
for
kids

play

there

the
biggest

families

there's
not
a
need
at
Rogers

should

but
we
don't

usage

a
need
for
another,
but
that's
not

would
know
that
the
pool
will

and

how
crowded

the
citizens

each
council
member
should
have
a
pulse

sure

understood.

value
the
recommendations
and
thoughts

staff

administration
that

lack
of
input

or

input

citizens

area

sit

wait

do
nothing
is
worse
than
at
least
making
an
attempt
to

we
have
to
be
aware
that
it's
a
balance
and
no
one
entity
on
its
own
should
be
the
driving
force
to
what
we
do.

order

resulted

contract

percent
increase

we

to
four

and

they're
bidding

contract

looking

contracts

both
construction
and
repair
work

city
with
a
construction
lawyer,
and
it

be

way

offset
that
and

we

come

bids,
especially

the
air

time

requesting

certain
material

when
they
go
out

expecting
that
they're
able

if
they're
not
able
to
do
that,
then
that
could
sometimes
increase
the
price
of
the
contract.

they
use
less
material
and,
on
the
back
end
of
the
contract,
we're
doing
another
change
order
to
reduce
the
contract
price.

needs

cooling
stations
in
this
heat.
Well,
the
interview
was
being
taken
literally
right
outside
and
adjacent
to
Henry's
place,
which
is
a
day
shelter
and
a
cooling
station.
So
there
are
cooling
stations.

also
want
to
point
out
that,
if
you're
homeless
and
you're
out
in
this
heat,
you
can
go
to
any
Library,
you
can
go
come
here
to
City
Hall
go
to
the
Sterling
Pruitt
Center.
There
are
many
municipal
buildings
in
which
you
can
take
refuge
in
and
get
out
of
the
heat,
but
Henry's
Place
does
operate
from
8
30
to
5
30.
and
there's
a
two
hour
window
for
lunch
where
they
go
next
door
to
some
other
place
and
get
a
meal.

see

appointments
that

attended

meeting

members

aware

to
talk

appointments
that

appoint
and
get
an
update

can't

it

it'll
be
real

guidelines

miss

know

need

sure
we

appoint

Committees

we
