✔️ A contract with Bird Scooters was approved to bring stand up electric scooters to Beaumont to be operated by a local fleet manager. The city will earn .05 of revenue per ride.

maintenance
upgrades
to
the
existing
office
beaumont
transit
office.
So
we
are
looking
at
a
variety
of
capital
improvements.

council
that
we
don't

not

part

negotiations
for
the
transit
union
authority,
that
our
status
only
allows
us
to
recognize
two
unions
that

police
and
buyer,
so
any
budgeted
funds

are

course,
could
be
a
subside
for
that
for
whatever
purpose
the
contract
allots.
For,
however,
we
aren't
not
engaging
in
any
of
the
contract
discussions
as
it
relates
to
the
negotiation
with
the
contract
with
the
workers.

refurbish

contractor

out
and

at

research

independent
company

it

a

history,
the
city
actually
went
to
the
legislature
to
petition
not

deregulated.
The
city's
houston,
austin
dallas
area
they're
all
deregulated.
They
were,
if
you
remember
the
ice
storm
they're
all
on

air
cot
system
they
went
down,
we
did
not.
Our
grid
is
very
well
maintained
and
I
would
attribute
that
to
the
city
being
able
to
again
negotiate
our
energy
rates
for
our
our
citizens.
To
my
knowledge,
we've
never
been
approached
by
another
energy
company,
because
again
they
would
have
to
comply
with
our
regulatory
rates.

earlier,

city
has
worked
really
hard
to
maintain
regulatory
authority
and
not
to
be
deregulated
to
make
sure
that
we're
providing
at
least
power
to
our
citizens

any
control
over
the
energy
company,
rolling
blackouts
or
shutdowns.
Those
are
things

we
contract

make
sure
don't
happen
in
our

project

match
will
be

going

allow
us

interconnect
the
signals,
so
there'll
be
communication
between

signals
within
the
project
and
adaptive
hardware
and
software
will
be
put
in
place
to
allow
the
lights
to
change
their
timing
according

flow
through,
we
did
one
other
project.
In
the
past
we
implemented
adaptive
signaling
from
hospital
drive
to
dowlin
road
on
college,
that
project
improved
traffic
flow,
37
percent
from
before
to
after
the
implementation,
so
we
certainly
hope
to
see
improved
traffic
flow
off
of
this
project
as
well.

in
for
funding,
this
is
actually
a
multiple
year
project,

we'll
be
coming
back
to

2023,

addressing
washington,
lucas
and
calder
will
be
the

next
three
streets
that
were
already
approved,

come
down
and
then
we've
also
the
one
project
we
didn't
get
was
dowling
road.

dowlin
road
in
hopes
that

we

get
that
corridor
done
as

payments

occupancy
issued
by

total

help
in

sustainability

campus
and
today,
we're
here
to
present
a
way
for
beaumont
to
bring
back
recycling
at
no
cost
to
the
city.
So
just
a
little
background
on
why
this
is
so
important.

Every
day,
texans
generate
about
five
pounds
of
waste
per
person,
so
that
adds
up
to
over
four
hundred
thousand
tons
per
year,
just
in
texas.
So
it
creates
a
huge
problem
like
landfills
when
we're
riding
the
big
thicket.
So
that's
harming
our
wildlife,
that's
polluting
our
water.
So
you
can
see
why
it's
a
big
issue.
So
last
fall
semester.
Lamar
partnered
with
a
company
called
replenish
to
implement
a
recycling
program
on
campus
and
it's
been
pretty
successful.
We've
recycled
almost
1300
pounds
of
waste
so
far,
just
starting
last
fall.

the
way
the
system
works
there
are
drop-off
locations
set
up
on
campus
people
can
bring
their
recyclables.
Then
replenish.
The
company
collects
these
and
sells
them
back
to
other
companies.
So
these
companies
are
paying
to
reuse
these
materials.

we
main
or
that's
how
it's
free.
That's,
why
there's
been
no
cost
to
lamar?
That's
why
it
would
be
no
cost
to
the
city.

to
have
these
drop-off
locations,

good
about
helping

to
help
