under
the

going

built

MBTA

we've
been
working
with
the
MBTA

construction
coordination
working

closely
with

MBTA

letter
of
support
for
these
actions,
which
we've
sent
along

hard

is

design,

compliant
with
the
complete
Street
guidelines.
The
city
is
working
towards,
as
well

the
master
plan
that
master
plan

Commission
has
approved
about
two
years
ago.
We
have
pervious
pavers.

a
concrete
sidewalk
that
provides
safe
and
accessible
access,
new
street
trees,
new
streetlights
and
further
requests
at
new
business.
The
plan
has
been
updated
to
show
proposed
parking
meter,
locations
and
traffic
signal
push
buttons
as
well
as
the
masked
armed.
So
it's
all
been
coordinated.

on
that
working
on
the
concept
design
report

the
entire
corridor
of
support
square
between
East
service
and
sleeper
street.

in
while
we're
doing
that
process,
another
master
project
came
up

Oliver
Street
purchase
street.

going
to
make
sure
we
coordinate
the
traffic
volume
so
we're
using
with
BTD,
VRA
and
mascot
so
that
we're
consistent
throughout.
So
that's
going
to
take
a
little
bit
longer,
but
you
should
see
that
a
report
within
about
a
month.

park

built
in
connection
with
the
one
channel
center
project
that
was
completed

year.

project

a

office
building

now
been
leased
to
State
Street,
and
it
also
included
the
construction
of
a
parking
garage
on
the
other
side,

to
the
south
of
where
this
park
is
as
well
as
this
park.
This
park
is
about
1.6
acres
and
since
it
opened
last
summer,
it's
been
utilized
by
members
of
the
neighborhood
and
of
the
public.
It
has
many
components
from
a
dog
run
to
community
gardening
plots
to
a
large
grassy
field
and
a
basketball
court.
So
it's
really
been
enjoyed
by
the
community.

This
park
was
always
contemplated
by
the
hundred
acres
master
plan,
and
it
was
always
contemplated
that
this
particular
park
would
be
privately
maintained
and
privately
developed,
but
open
to
the
public.
That
is
still
the
case.
An
association
of
area
property
owners
will
continue
to
maintain
this
park,
but
we're
in
the
process
of
conveying
the
park
itself
to
the
Parks
Commission
in
the
parks
department.

you
can
see
the
red
line
now
runs
in
this
in
this
direction,
instead
of
being
straight
along
a
street,
it
now
runs
down,
and
that
is
to
follow
how
the
park
has
been
built
out,
and
this
request
was
made
by
the
city
because
they're
our
future
plans

eventually
widen
a
street
along
this
area.

we
understand
that
those
I
mean
nothing
is
set
in
stone
by
any
means,
but
this
is
all
being
done
in
in
an
effort
to
anticipate
the
future
widening.

second
the
comment
about
what
a
wonderful
amenity
this
Park

the
channel
Center
and
Fort
Point
neighborhood,
as
well
as
several
of
the
other
neighborhoods
of
South
Boston,
greatly
anticipated
and
has
been
greatly
put
to
use
in
the
last
year
that
it's
been
open.

was
some
concern
and
it
was

think
answered
largely
by
response
from
the
VRA,
approximately
Monday,
April
sixth,
and
the
concern
was
that
the
wording
of
the
announcement
for
today's
hearing
was
that
the
widening
was
eminent.

learned-
and
we
was
like
to
think
see
some
confirming
nods
as
was
stated
that
this
is
not
eminent,
but
as

flexibility

the
future.

widen

street
ever
became

reality

the
community's

by
west
broadway
at
its
front
athens
street

adjacent
public
way

Gardner

immediate
area

the
front

the
property
on
west
broadway
is
predominantly
commercial,
and
the
uses
along
athens
street
at
the
rear
are
mostly
residential.

project

process

We've
successfully
gone
through

a

process,
small
project

got

vote

approval

gone
through
the
Zoning
Board
process.

a
vote
of
approval
in
August

last
year,
the
project
was
the
result
of
8
plus
months
of
extensive
and
positive
community
outreach.

full
community
support
for
the
project

abutters,
the
neighborhood
association,
elected
officials

the
mayor's
office
of
neighborhood
services.
So
that's
where
we
are
the
overall
process
for
petitions
today
we're
in
front

you

pedestrian
easement
along
after
the
street,
and
that
was
part
of
that
extensive
community
outreach.
They
asked
for
that
pedestrian,
easement,
specific
repairs
in
a
temporary
or
retention.
