A
Hey
everyone:
it
is
May
24th,
Wednesday
and
you're
here
at
the
chaos,
Dei
diversity,
equity
and
inclusion,
working
group
great
to
see
everybody
here,
as
you
probably
know,
if
you've
been
here
before
this
is
mostly
for
the
people
who
are
watching
on
the
recording.
A
We
do
not
care
if
you
have
your
camera
on
or
off,
and
if
you'd
like
to
interact,
you
can
also
just
chat
on
the
side
with
the
text.
That's
totally
fine
and
this
as
all
chaos
meetings
is
under
our
chaos.
Code
of
conduct,
so
just
kind
of
keep
that
in
mind
and
I
will
pull
up
the
agenda
here.
A
A
If
you
need
the
minutes,
we
can
certainly
drop
them
in
the
chat
again
but
yeah.
So
let's
hop
right
in
to
our
first
item,
which
we
kind
of
decided
this
morning
at
the
the
event
badging
I.
A
In
here
event,
well,
actually
it's
badging
just
badging
in
general,
so
we
usually
have
event
badging
meetings
every
other
week
and
we
decided
this
morning
to
just
combine
it
with
this
meeting.
For
these
reasons
you
can
see
right
here.
A
There
were
several
reasons
for
doing
that,
so
I
did
take
it
off
the
calendar
and
what
we're
gonna
do
in
this
meeting
is
just
take
the
first
30
minutes
and
talk
about
anything
diversity,
equity
and
inclusion,
inclusive
inclusion,
metrics,
whatever
we
need
to
talk
about
in
the
first
30
minutes
and
then
the
second
20
minutes.
The
last
three
minutes
we'll
talk
about
the
badging.
C
D
E
Works
for
me
no
questions,
but
thank
you
for
doing
that.
So
removing
removing
one
meeting
is
helpful.
C
A
A
A
B
A
Oh,
someone
are
mad.
Aren't
you
so
merry
blessing?
We
were
just
saying:
I'm,
not
sure
if
you
have
attended
that
Dei
badging
meeting
that
happens
on
Wednesdays
a
little
bit
before
this
like
an
hour
and
a
half
before
this
meeting,
but
we
are
going
to
just
combine
it
with
this
meeting,
so
we
just
took
it
off
the
calendar
and
we'll
just
split
this
meeting
in
half
and
I
think
we're
good.
Thank
you.
Yeah
yeah
you're
welcome.
I
have
a
frog
in
my
throat
hold
on.
A
Let
me
grab
some
coffee
that'll
help
I'm
sure,
okay,
we're
good.
So
the
next
thing
on
the
agenda
is
the
event,
location
and
Equity
metric
and
I.
Think
Kevin
you're
working
on
that
is
there
an
update?
Do
we
need
to
look
at
this
or.
E
Sorry
I
lost
my
zoom
screen
for
a
second,
so
the
in
the
last
meeting.
We
actually
we
collaboratively
worked
on
this,
so
the
the
document's
actually
in
a
pretty
good
place.
E
I
should
note,
however,
that
this
document
I
think
it
is
officially
owned
by
the
Common
working
group,
so
I
was
I,
was
contemplating
having
common
take
a
peek
at
it
just
to
sign
off
on
it.
In
the
this
week's
kind
of
meeting
yeah.
C
B
C
E
A
C
Yeah
so
like
we're
a
little
inconsistent
so
like
under
data
collection
strategies,
for
example,
like
sometimes
the
that
second
point,
for
example,
would
just
say
you
know
I
guess
maybe
not,
for
example,
but
like
IEEE
essay
open
community
calendar
that
would
just
we
would
just
put
like
a
reference
there.
And
then
we
would
put
that
link
down
in
the
references
I.
A
C
Surveys
and
project
calendars-
that's
not
terribly
helpful.
Yeah.
C
A
And
like
kind
of
self-reflect
on
the
way
that
they
communicate,
which
might
happen
but
they're
not
really
surveying
the
community
about
that.
Okay,.
A
D
A
Think
we
have
that
kind
of
in
Project
access
like
the
Liker.
Do
you
want
to
see
an
example.
B
B
B
A
C
B
B
B
E
C
Perfect
awesome
very
blessing.
We
don't
ask
them
for
a
map,
but
we
could
put
that
as
a
question
like
for
event,
organizers,
yeah,.
B
A
This
is
just
a
note
to
kind
of
close
the
loop
on
these
action
items
from
before
cleaning
stuff
up
and
Etc
editorial
work,
and
we
did
all
that.
B
A
F
A
The
next
one
is
Ruth
and
I
have
we
talked
yesterday
about
the
newcomer
orientation
sessions
and
how
we
want
to
kind
of
rework
how
those
work,
because
we
got
feedback
that
it
was
just
too
much
at
one
time
so
like
having
an
hour
of
just
like
here's,
chaos
like
a
fire
hose
of
stuff,
so
we've
been
kicking
around
some
ideas,
we're
still
thinking
about
it.
We've
just
been
also
kind
of
busy,
so
it's
still
on
our
list,
we're
still
talking
about
it.
A
A
Yeah
we
want
to
definitely
do
that
and
just
do
it
in
little
chunks.
It's
just
kind
of
like
the
way
we
guide
folks
through
it
and
it
still
incorporate
kind
of
that
like
live
one-on-one
or
you
know,
in-person
kind
of
connection
so
yeah,
because
if
we
just
throw
out
videos
to
them
which
they
can
do
on
their
own
time,
that's
great,
but
they
don't
really
get
a
chance
to
connect
with
us
on
a
more
personal
level
so
which
kind
of
leads
to
this
next
Point
nice
segue
there
Matt!
Thank
you.
A
A
Sometimes
They
Come
and
they
are
expecting
kind
of
a
presentation
and
sometimes
they're,
just
coming
to
see
who's
in
there.
Yesterday
it
was
great
like
we
my
blessing
was
there
we
just
hung
out
for
like
an
hour
just
talking,
and
it
was
actually
really
awesome
and
I
really
just
thought.
Yeah
like
this
is
a
this
is
the
way
I
kind
of
Envision
this.
Where
questions
come
up
informally
but
we're
you
know
also
just
kind
of
getting
to
know
each
other
and
it's
just
a
little
less
intimating.
F
F
C
Newcomers
experience
folks
that
have
been
in
the
community
for
a
long
time.
Anybody
can
join
and
just
talk
about
chaos,
things
I
do
think
the
effort
should
be
to
help.
Newcomers
like
I
would
wouldn't
want
the
hangout
to
be
like.
We
start
talking
about
like
auger
like
details
of
auger
development,
I,
just
yeah.
F
B
F
D
F
C
F
A
Maybe
we
could
it.
A
Yeah
I
mean
I
kind
of
like
keeping
it
named
something
newcomer
just
so
they
know
that
they're
welcome
and
that
it
isn't
going
to
turn
into
like
just
an
old
school
chat.
You
know
but
I.
Maybe
we
could
then
tell
some
of
the
folks
who
have
been
in
the
community
a
long
time.
If
you
want
to
pop
in
and
say
hi
and
meet
the
newcomers,
then
that'd
be
great
that'd,
be
awesome.
A
There
too,
and
just
kind
of
hanging
out
and
getting
to
know
each
other
I
really
liked
that
a
lot
I
thought
that
was
awesome
and
that
has
happened
in
the
past,
where
you
know
two
newcomers
come
and
then
now
they
have
a
shared
Bond.
You
know
a
shared
experience
because
they
know
that
they've
chatted
with
each
other
and
it's
like
kind
of
cool
to
see
that.
A
B
Oh
Mary
blessings
typing
in
she
says.
A
B
A
I
love
it
when
a
plan
comes
together.
Well,
okay,
so,
let's
move
on
to
badging,
since
we
are
in
the
last
20
minutes
of
our
meeting.
For
those
who
haven't
heard,
the
dei.md
and
project
badging
initiative
with
all
in
I
should
put
that
on
here
did
get
released
yesterday.
Monday
sorry
Monday
here
is
the
website
where
it's
showing
up
right
now
and
we're.
This
is
just
like
a
high
level
kind
of
overview
of
what
it
is.
A
We
are
asking
for
folks
to
participate
and
in
two
ways
either
volunteer
your
project
to
be
part
of
the
limited
pilot
program,
or
else
if
folks
want
to
help
us
build
out
these
metrics
and
these
levels
they
can
join
us,
and
this
is
the
meeting
where
they
would
come
when
we
get
responses
to
this
or
if
we
have
folks
reaching
out,
they
will
direct
them
to
this
Dei
dot.
Working
Dei
working
group
meeting.
C
A
Be
fair,
I
did
mess
up
the
form
yeah,
so
it
was
locked
down,
unfortunately,
for
during
the
meeting
and
the
the
YouTube
video
is
also
still
processing
two
days
later,
which
is
weird
but
I.
Guess
that
happens.
So
it's
in
a
queue
somewhere.
Okay,.
A
A
Yeah,
so
we'll
get
a
little
visibility.
I
will
also
say:
I
think
all
in
is
working
on
it
as
well,
so
that
will
bring
some
folks
they'll
bring
some
traffic
to
us.
Okay,.
C
D
A
Don't
know
it's
weird,
but
that's
what
I
do
the
three
I
do?
Okay,
then
Mastodon
and
Twitter
and.
B
A
Yeah
so
the
new
event
badge
orientation
I,
was
reminded
that
we
I
was
trying
to
do
it
today,
but
we
ended
up
canceling.
The
meeting
so
I'm
just
gonna
do
a
one-on-one.
We
had
one
person.
A
Visio
is
interested
in
being
a
badger,
so
I'm
just
gonna
do
a
one-on-one
with
her,
but
I
would
like
to
do
maybe
something
a
little
more
open
in
June.
Okay,.
A
On
this
call,
or
watching
wants
to
get
information
about
being
a
new
event
Badger,
you
can
fill
this
little
form
out
here
or
you
can
reach
out.
That's
fine
too.
This.
C
C
C
C
C
You
know
so
like
when
we
get
to
the
point
where
somebody
would
like
to
apply
for
a
badge,
not
just
the
pilot
program
but
actually
go
through
the
process.
I
know
they've
been
doing
a
lot
of
work
on
a
page
where
people
could
apply.
Is
that
weren't
going
to
be
handed
off
to
the
folks
at
GitHub
who
can
like
integrate
it
with
yeah.
B
A
So
what
the
way
I'm
envisioning
it
I
think
is
the
way
it's
going
to
work
at
least
right
now
it
could
change.
I
guess
is
that
would
this
would
take
so
the
badging
website
is
all
in
the
all-in
repo.
All
that
work
is
happening
in
the
all-in
repo,
and
it
would
just
link
to
that
page.
Instead
of
the
form
it
would
link
to
the.
C
A
And
they're,
using
the
like,
the
all
in
branding
and
everything
so
it'll
be
seamless,
like
the
person
on
the
other
end,
who
is
applying
well,
won't
see
a
difference.
It'll.
A
So
yeah
it'll
just
be
like
it's
very
clever.
Wasn't
it
thank
you
I
thought
so
so.
C
A
C
C
A
C
Cool
and
then
the
other
thing,
I
I,
just
I'm
still
like
on
event,
badging
I'm
still
just
absolutely
like
I
just
we
can't
seem
to
get
other
foundations
to
participate
in
the
program
and
I'd
really
like
to
and
I
just
you
know,
I've
reached
out
to
you
know.
Asf
events,
team
and
I've
tried
to
reach
out
to
some
folks
at
eclipse
and
I.
Just
I,
don't
I'm
a
little
stuck
on
how
we
can
do
better.
I,
don't
know.
C
C
A
B
A
Don't
really
have
a
good
answer
either.
Do
you
think
it
Matt?
Do
you
think
it's
that
the
process
is
daunting?
Maybe
folks
aren't
seeing
the
actual
value
like
it's
worth
their
time
or
do
you
think
they
just
don't
really
know
what.
B
C
B
C
At
the
ASF
and
so
I've
been
reaching
out
directly
and
I
my
the
general
response,
and
even
like
Folks
at
like
numb
Focus
like
the
response
is
always
like
that
sounds
really
great,
and
then
it
just
kind
of
stops.
C
You
know
so
I
I,
don't
know
that.
It's
really
that
first
issue
Elizabeth
that
they're
that
there's
even
taking
a
look
at
it
that
it's
daunting
I
feel
like
we're
having
a
hard
time,
even
getting
people
to
take
a
look
at
it.
Like
you
know
like
when
you
talk
to
somebody
in
the
hall
and
they're
like
you,
should
do
this
and
you're
like
uh-huh.
That
sounds
great,
and
then
you
go
to
your
hotel
room
and
you're
like
I'm.
Doing
that
so
I
feel
like
we're
in
that
spot,
that
the
the
premises
well
received.
E
Maybe
maybe
we
need
to
put
together
some
presentations
in
in
the
relevant
conferences.
You
know
at
a
Apache
conferences
or
Eclipse
conferences
or
ideas.
D
E
A
Yeah
Mary
blessing
says:
maybe
they're
not
seeing
the
reasons
to
do
this
yeah,
so
so
maybe
more
education
and
meeting
them
where
they
are
yeah.
It's
like
if
we
did
a
talk
at
like
all
things
open
just.
A
B
D
A
B
A
As
far
as
you
know,
maybe
sending
submitting
in
some
cfps
I
know,
we
have
folks
that
have
talked
about
this
at
other
places,
but
yeah.
Maybe
we
could
figure
out
how
to
get
how
to
get
those
talks
in
yeah,
yeah.
