At Wednesday's Board of Supervisors Meeting, Treasurer Rebecca Longnaker provided the Chesterfield BOS an update on this year's tax season and new methods of payment options.

This
is
my
time
of
year.
I
feel
like
I'm
echoing.
This
is
my
time
of
year,
it's
tax
season
and
I'm
hoping
you
all
receive
the
lovely
letters
I
like
to
send
out.
If
you
haven't
they're
coming,
the
last
of
them
went
out
on
monday.
They
started
last
week
the
couple
things
that
we
have
update
wise
last
year
about
this
time.

stood
here
and
talked
to
you
all
about
jack,
our
justified
automated
collections
kiosk.
He
is
installed
on
the
outside
of
my
office.
The
administration
building
he
speaks
to
you
in
english
or
spanish,
takes
cash
check,
credit
card
or
debit
card,
there's
a
fee
for
the
credit
card
and
debit
card,
but
not
cash
and
check
and
provides
a
receipt.

Well
jack
is
such
a
wonderful
cashier
that
we
have
and
he's
available,
24
7..
He
is
such
a
wonderful
cashier
we're
putting
two
more
jacks
in
one
at
north
courthouse
library,
which
I
believe
is
your
district,
mr
winslow
and
the
right
button.
The
other
one
in
bennettdale,
which
I
believe
is
holland,
is
your
district.
These
will
be
installed
on
the
outside
of
the
building
bolted
down.

course,
where
there
is
a
book
drop,
that's
what
the
arrow's
pointing
to
there
are
three
book
drops
in
each
of
these
libraries
we're
taking
one
out
for
the
wiring
to
go
in.
They
will
be
stand
alone
and
the

speaking.

easiest

have

treasurer's
office

chesterfield,
no
more
post
office
box
in
charlotte
I've
heard
for
the
last
five
years
since
I've
been
in
the
treasurer's
office
that
they
don't
like
to
send
their
payments
and
the
processing
out
of
state.
I
didn't
like
it
either,
so
we
brought
it
in
with
the
help
of
this
administration
and
with
you,
all's
help
as
well.
This
went
live
yesterday
and
I'm
standing
here
in
front
of
you
so
excited
we
process.

payments
hit
the
bank.
Well,
I
guess
about
five
o'clock
today:
it'll
hit
the
bank.
We
are
up
and
rolling,
rocking
and
rolling
on
this.
This
will
be
a
great
opportunity
for
all
of
our
citizens
that
want
to
mail
their
payments
in
and
want
to
know
that
chesterfield
county
treasurer's
office
staff
is
handling
them.
That's
what's
happening
now
with
this.
I
give
a
word
of
caution.
If
you
use
your
online
banking
service,
you
go
in
and
set
it
up
and
it
goes
through.

must
go
in
and
change
or
at
least
make
sure
that
the
payee
is
treasurer
chesterfield
county.
The
code
of
virginia
says
it
cannot
be
the
treasurer's
name
and
then
the
other
thing
is.
You
need
to
change
the
address,
get
rid
of
the
charlottesville
address.
It
needs
to
be
po
box,
70
chesterfield
virginia
23832.

is
how
the
bank
knows
where
it
goes
to
once
I
close
that
charlottesville
address
the
bank
will
not
be
able
to
deliver
it
to
me.
They
won't
know
it's
mine.
Also.
Please
make
sure
that
you're
looking
on

upper
right
hand
corner
of
your
statement
next
one
sorry
about
that
and
putting
the
account
number
in
just
like
you
do
for
your
water
bill,
your
electric
bill.
I
have
an
account
number.
These
are
all
processed
electronically
numbers.
Only
if
you
put
nothing
in
there,
it
falls
out.

many
account
numbers
in
there,
it
still
can't
be
processed.
If
you
have
more
than
one
statement
more
than
one
account
number,
I
have
two
my
husband's
in
mind
and
my
daughter's
in
mine.
I
have
two
payees
set
up
one
for
each
account
number.
I
still
make
her
pay
her
own,
though
so
that
is
my
excitement
for
this
year.
My
jack
and
jill,
who
are
here
to
help
you
pay
your
bill
and
if
you
all
have
any
questions,
I
have
answers.

chance
jack
will
ever
be
able
to
take
state
tax
return
money.
At
this
point
we
do
not
process
them
through
an
electronic
means
because
they
don't
go
into
the
bank
account.
I
have
authority
over.
They
go
straight
to
the
state.
So
at
this
point
I
can't
answer
that
I
can
certainly
look
into
being
able
to
if
you
feel
that
that's
a
need,
why
not
I
mean
the
both
all
the
jacksonville
will
have
water
and
sewer
and
property
tax,
but
state
attacks.
I
hadn't
thought
about
that.

I
just
want
to
thank
you
for
the
pavement
in
chesterfield
county.
I
had
a
constituent
appear
here
last
year
to
our
board
to
ask
for
that.
So
I
applaud
you
for
your
efforts
for
listening
and
for
making
the
difference,
and
I
did
receive
my
bill.
I
really
like
the
new
registration
fee,
approved
by
this
board.
