A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
of
animals
and
Ames.
My
name
is
Ron
Edwards
I'm,
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
Ames,
Animal
Shelter
and
animal
control
program,
our
first
very
beautiful
black
and
white
kitty
here
is
Hamilton.
He
is
a
neutered
male.
He
is
about
two
years
old
is
the
estimate
he
actually
came
in
as
a
stray
to
the
Animal
Rescue
League
of
Iowa
down
in
Ankeny
des
Moines
area,
and
he
was
one
of
our
very
special
transfers
here
to
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter.
A
We
took
in
quite
a
few
cats
from
them
to
help
them
out
and
try
to
give
these
guys
a
little
different
environment
and
try
to
find
them
a
home
through
our
facility
here,
so
we're
very
proud
to
partner
with
the
Animal
Rescue
League
and
all
the
other
shelters
that
we
work
with
to
try
to
find
these
amazing
animals
their
forever
homes
here
at
our
shelter.
So
it's
great
to
be
able
to
partner
with
them
and
help
these
guys
out.
They
definitely
need
some
extra
help.
A
They
get
a
lot
of
cats
in
there,
and
Hamilton
may
have
got
a
little
lost
in
the
crowd
with
so
many
cats.
There
Hamilton
is
one
of
the
kitties
in
our
kitty
city.
All
of
our
cats
have
been
adopted
out
of
the
kitty
City
area,
so
we're
kind
of
starting
to
repopulate
that
room
again
and
Hamilton.
Hamilton
is
the
first
kitty
to
go
in
there,
so
we're
getting
him
all
acclimated
to
the
room
and
then
we'll
start
to
put
a
few
of
the
other
cats
in
there.
A
So
that's
our
cage,
free
environment,
where
Hamilton
and
his
buddies
and
hopefully
they'll
all,
be
great
buddies,
we'll
get
along
and
can
cohabitate
in
there
together
until
they
find
their
forever
home.
So
once
they
go
in
there,
our
goal
is
to
never
put
them
back
in
a
cage
again,
so
we
wish
we
had
more
rooms
like
Kitty
city,
but
at
least
for
now
we
have
Kitty
city
and,
if
you're
interested
in
meeting
Hamilton
he'll
be
in
there
he's
really
enjoying
that
room.
I
see
him
running
around
and
playing
throughout
the
day.
A
A
So
he
is
ready
to
go
to
his
forever
home
and
of
course,
we
want
that
forever
home
to
be
an
indoor
home
and
a
place
that
he's
going
to
be
able
to
keep
his
claws,
because
Hamilton
does
have
all
of
his
claws
and,
as
you
know,
it's
very
important
to
us
that
they're
not
declawed,
so
he
wants
to
keep
those
that
he
came
into
this
world
with
and
find
his
forever
homes.
If
you
want
to
meet
Hamilton
come
on
down
to
the
shelter
in.
A
A
Hey
Mamie,
kitty,
kitty,
good
kitty,
well,
she's,
probably
not
going
to
it
now
she's
enjoying
the
brushing.
She
is
one
of
those
cats
that
she
is
kind
of
a
medium
haired
cat.
So
it's
really
important
that
there
you
go
so
it's
really
important
that
she
be
kept
a
brush
and
she
you
can
tell
she's,
really
enjoying
those
she's
just
rubbing
into
the
brush
and
enjoying
our
time
here
together
on
TV
Mamie
is
a
senior
kitty.
We've
estimated
that
she
is
at
least
7
years
or
older.
A
She
came
to
us
from
the
Animal
Rescue
League,
as
I
mentioned.
When
she
came
into
them.
She
actually
had
some
teeth
that
needed
to
be
pulled,
so
her
upper
canines
needed
to
be
pulled
out
and
she
just
needed
some
general
dental
cleaning
which
they
did
for
her.
So
she
is
also
fully
vaccinated
and
ready
to
be
adopted.
She
has
this
very
unique
ear
over
here
that
on
her
right
side
there,
if
we
can
capture
that
in
the
camera
she
she
was
going
to
tell
you
a
little
bit
about
it.
So
Mamie
is
a
very
special.
A
Kid
is
a
cat
that
probably
due
to
her
age,
would
probably
not
be
best
with
small
children.
So
maybe
some
some
a
senior
is
interested
in
adopting
a
senior
kitty
may
may
might
be
the
one
for
you
if
we
can
get
her
to
turn
around
and
show
you
her
pretty
sight
of
their
showed
by
your
face,
so
I'm
gonna,
say
hi
to
everybody
again,
she's
just
she
seems
to
be
a
very
sweet
kitty,
we're
not
sure
what
happened
and
how
she
got
lost
and
wasn't
claimed
by
her
people.
A
A
And
our
final
guest
for
today
is
Phil
and
Abbie
was
actually
back
there,
giving
them
some
TLC
and
she
gave
him
a
bath,
because
these
little
ones
just
came
in
to
us
they're
about
we're
gonna
make
sure
they
stay
nice
and
warm
I
just
had
a
bath
there's
two
of
them
that
came
in
so
far
they
were
trapped.
The
mom
is
what
we
believe
is
a
feral
mom.
They
were
trapped
there
about
five
weeks
old
I
mean
wrap
him
up
a
little
bit.
This
is
Phil.
A
Phil
came
in
to
us
just
two
days
ago,
so
they
actually
did
have
fleas
all
over
them.
So
Abbie
was
taking
great
care
of
them
and
getting
those
fleas
gone
when
they're
this
young,
they
can't
have
flea
medication.
So
even
if
you
buy
some
stuff
that
you
can
get
at
the
store,
it's
not
safe
for
these
little
ones
like
this,
so
some
Dawn
dish,
soap
and
warm
water
and
lots
of
drying
afterwards.
A
So,
but
this
is
Phil
he's
only
five
weeks
old
now,
so
he
has
to
be
at
least
eight
weeks
and
two
pounds
before
he
can
get.
Neutered
he's
a
boy
we
have
his
sister
here,
which
is
her
name
is
lil
and
she
is
a
calico
and
she
was
just
finishing
up
her
bath.
So
I
didn't
bring
her
along
too,
but
we're
gonna
make
sure
that
Phil
gets
all
dried
up
here
and
is
nice
and
warm.
A
But
we
just
want
to
show
you
the
care
here
that
we're
givin
these
guys,
because
without
their
mom,
our
staff
and
volunteers
and
foster
parents
really
have
to
step
up
to
the
plate
and
do
all
those
things
that
mom
would
do,
keeping
them
clean,
making
sure
that
they're
going
potty.
Those
are
all
part
of
the
things
a
mom
does
really
well
and
without
the
mom
we
got
to
step
up
and
do
that
for
these
little
guys.
Otherwise
they
don't
thrive.
A
A
They
have
their
claws
now
and
they
were
born
that
way.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
they
stay
that
way.
So
if
you're
interested
in
Phil
called
the
shelter,
we
will
be
accepting
applications
on
all
of
our
kittens.
So
if
you
are
interested
in
adopting
a
kitten
come
on
down
to
the
shelter
and
we
can
introduce
you
to
Phil
oral
ill
or
some
of
the
other
kittens
that
may
be
coming
in
shortly,
this
is
the
start
of
the
kitten
season.
So
we're
gonna
have
a
lot
of
kittens
coming
in.
A
But
please
don't
forget
the
adults
especially
cast
like
Mamie
when
these
senior
cats
come
in,
they
tend
to
be
overlooked
when
people
adopt
the
kittens
and
they're
only
looking
for
kittens.
So
if
you
want
to
open
your
heart
to
a
senior
kitty,
I
guarantee
you
she's
got
a
lot
of
love
to
give
and
hopefully
will
be
with
us
for
many
many
years.
So
don't
forget
those
senior
kitties
that
are
here
at
our
shelter
and
at
every
shelter
across
the
United
States,
so
come
on
down
and
meet
Phil.
A
Well,
that's
our
show
for
today
I
want
to
let
everybody
know
that
the
four
dogs
that
we
took
in
from
Oklahoma
have
all
been
adopted.
They
did
bring
some
kennel
cough
with
them,
so
we
had
a
bit
of
a
kennel
cough
going
around
here
in
the
shelter
for
a
bit
and
the
two
other
dogs
that
were
here
that
came
in
separately
from
the
Oklahoma
dogs
did
get
kennel
cough
and
but
they
were
treated
and
have
fully
recovered,
and
now
both
of
them
also
have
holds
on
them.
A
So
there's
gonna
be
no
dogs
in
our
building
again,
here
very
shortly,
so
I
think
Baxter
may
be
going
home
today.
He's
the
dog
that
you
met
on
one
of
the
shows
and
the
other
one
is
checked.
So
both
of
those
dogs
are
gonna,
be
going
to
their
forever
homes,
hopefully
very
soon,
and
hopefully,
we'll
get
some
other
dogs
in
here
for
people
to
look
at.
But
if
you're
looking
for
rabbits,
we
still
have
our
two
bonded
rabbits
that
are
here.
A
We
haven't
got
a
whole
lot
of
interest
in
them
so
far,
but
we'd
love
to
have
people
come
down
that
are
interested
in
rabbits
to
come.
Take
a
look
at
them
and,
of
course
we
always
have
cats,
there's
never-ending
supply
of
cats,
and
when
we
emptied
out
our
building,
we
asked
other
shelters
if
they
needed
help
so
anytime,
we
can
help
animals
in
need.
A
That's
what
we're
here
for
and
that's
what
we
love
to
do
and
that's
what's
in
the
hearts
of
all
of
our
staff
that
are
here
so
I'm
so
proud
to
be
part
of
this
team
and
thankful
that
we
have
such
a
caring
and
compassionate
staff.
That
does
everything
they
can
to
help
homeless
animals.
So
we
couldn't
do
that
without
you
and
appreciate
your
support
watching
the
show
sharing
the
Facebook
post
liking,
all
of
our
the
videos
and
everything
it
does
take.
