From YouTube: Bend Police May 2023 Training
Description
Bend Police conduct quarterly in-service trainings. In May 2023, sworn officers all engaged in a full day of training at the range that included a scenario in which they had to rescue an injured officer under fire.

A
Rob
Emerson
and
I'm
assigned
to
the
Training
Division
this
particular
week
is
all
sworn
officers
have
to
go
through
this
end
service.
So
this
in-service
starts
out
with
mental
health
training.
All
our
in-services
start
with
that,
and
then
we
moved
into
the
first
half
of
the
day
was
scenario:
Based
training.
We
implemented
less
lethal
options
and
we
had
traffic
stops
where
officers
went
through
various
scenarios
and
depending
on
their
actions,
it
determines
the
level
of
force
they
have
to
use
to
get
cooperation
from
the
suspects.
A
So
we
have
Ben
fires
out
here
with
us
as
well
implementing
the
medical
part
of
it
and
we're
for
officers,
and
then
we
have
our
firearm
instructors
implementing
the
the
actual
tactics,
it's
important
to
train
realistically,
because
when
we
encounter
this
in
the
street-
or
we
don't
want
it
to
be
the
officer's
first
time,
they've
ever
had
someone
shooting
behind
them
or
with
live
fire
going
on
around
them.
We
want
them.
We
want
to
try
to
implement
the
stress.
