From YouTube: Bend Police Quarterly Training June 2022
Description
Bend Police Training Sgt. Todd Guthrie explains the purpose of this month’s quarterly training for the Bend Police Department.
A
Today
we
have
our
third
day
our
second
quarter
in
service
each
quarter.
We
do
a
four
day
in
service
for
the
entire
department.
Today's
the
third
day,
what
this
training
incorporates
is
we
have
our
ebock
refresher,
so
our
evoc
instructors
have
set
up
three
different
courses
on
these
parking
lots.
A
A
In
addition
to
that,
we
are
also
doing
active
threat
response
training
that
requires
officers
to
respond
to
anything
that
is
perceived
or
reported
as
an
active
threat,
whether
it's
a
shooter,
someone
actively
doing
harm
to
others,
pretty
good
timing
right
now
with
what
we've
had
in
the
media
recently,
but
what
we
have
two
stations
and
we're
teaching
officers,
both
a
solo
response,
where
they're
going
by
themselves
to
encounter
an
active
threat
and
we're
teaching
them
a
team
response
where
they
have
two
or
more
officers
responding
to
an
active
threat.
A
So
this
is
going
to
be
the
majority
of
the
day
where
everybody
rotates
through
these
stations
and
then
at
the
end
of
the
day,
we
will
do
a
scenario
where
we
incorporate
evoc,
with
an
active
threat
response
and
we'll
dispatch
them
to
an
active
threat
and
they
have
to
use
evoc,
do
several
laps
around
the
track
and
then
respond,
and
that
one
is
pretty
critical,
especially
with
the
increased
numbers
of
active
shooters
and
active
threats
that
we've
had
in
the
media
and
around
the
nation.
