assault
weapons.
This

nearly
25
years
and

Daniel,
the
Boulder
City
Council,
voted
unanimously
during
the
May
first
meeting
to
move
forward
with
a
ban
on
the
sale
and
possession
of
assault
weapons
bump
stocks
in
high-capacity
magazines
in
the
city.
This
is
not
a
final
vote,
however.
A
Council
will
once
again
at
a
third
reading
that
will
likely
occur
over
the
upcoming
weeks.
Several
amendments
were
discussed
over
councils
to
our
deliberation
on
assault
weapons
among
those
was
the
possibility
of
raising
the
age
to
buy
firearms
to
21
instead
of
18
during
the
second
hearing,
council
also
proposed
making
fewer
exceptions
to
the
ordinance,
such
as
only
exempting
police
federal
officers
and
military
personnel
from
the
proposed
ban.
Given
these
new
amendments,
the
proposal
will
go
to
a
third
reading
for
final
consideration.

Boulder
SBDC
has
had
a
significant
impact
on
boulders
economic
vitality.
In
just
the
past
two
years,
the
Center
has
helped
5th
for
businesses
get
their
start
and
provided
over
5,000
hours
of
one-on-one
business,
consulting
to
more
than
1,000
businesses
and
entrepreneurs.
This
has
resulted
in
the
creation
of
over
1,100
jobs
in
the
city
of
Boulder.

The
boulder
Police

is
now
accepting
applications
for
their
free
summer,
youth
academy,
a
great
opportunity
for
teenagers
between
the
ages
of
14
and
18
to
learn
more
about
what
police
work
is
really
like
in
the
city
of
Boulder.
This
free
summer
camp
is
Monday
through
Friday
June
11th
through
the
22nd
from
8
a.m.
to
4
p.m.
the
youth
academy
will
provide
attendees
with
an
in-depth
look
at
law
enforcement
with
some
hands-on
training.
Teens
will
run
through
the
officer.
