D
Am
the
state
representative
for
the
11th
Suffolk
District
on
behalf
of
myself,
my
constituents
here
today
and
the
Commonwealth
of
Massachusetts
I
would
like
to
thank
the
Chelsea
fire
department
for
their
commitment
to
this
great
City
I'm,
so
glad
to
be
here
today,
because
when
I
look
at
our
local
firefighters,
I
see
Chelsea
I
see
firefighters,
who
love
their
Community
firefighters,
who
spent
early
mornings
and
late
nights
doing
the
hard
work
of
ensuring
their
neighbor's
safety
and
I
would
know.
I
grew
up
here.
D
I
am
a
lifelong
Chelsea
resident
and
I
was
elected
four
times
to
the
Chelsea
city
council.
To
represent
District,
Five
and
I
am
also
the
first
person
to
have
the
honor
of
being
Chelsea's
very
first
homegrown
state
representative,
I
love
this
city
and
I.
Thank
you
all
for
loving
into,
and
it
comes
at
a
high
cost.
D
Some
firefighters
have
been
injured
in
the
line
of
duty
and
we've
lost
several
Beloved
Community
members
over
the
years
to
the
families
of
those
firefighters
who
have
passed
whether
during
their
time
with
the
department
or
after
I,
offer
you
my
sincerest
condolences.
Your
loved
ones
were
Heroes
as
they
live
on
in
the
heart
and
minds
of
this
community.
They
are
the
personification
of
bravery
and
the
results.
That,
for
me,
are
the
Cornerstone
of
what
makes
Chelsea
Chelsea,
which
is
why
this
Memorial
is
so
needed.
D
E
When
I'm
call
to
duty,
but
wherever
Flames
May
rage,
give
me
the
strength
to
Save,
a
Life
would
ever
be
a
teach
help
me
to
embrace
a
little
child
before
it
is
too
late.
Save
an
older
person
from
the
horror
of
that
Faith
enable
me
to
be
alert
to
hear
the
weakest
shout
and
quickly
and
efficiently,
to
put
our
fire
out.
E
A
Each
year,
ceremonial
carnations,
the
sheets
of
roses
are
laid
in
honor
and
memory
of
our
fallen
Brothers.
This
year
we
lost
one
of
them.
We
will
always
honor
and
never
forget
the
sacrifices
that
they
and
their
families
have
made
for
this
local,
this
department
in
the
residence
of
the
city
of
Chelsea.
We
will
never
forget
them.
