A
All
right
we've
got,
we've
got
another
presentation
that
we
were
trying
to
get
in
last
week,
but
we
were
unable
to,
but
they
are
here
today
and
we
are
delighted-
and
that
is
our
leaders
from
Reese
Road
school
and
they're,
going
to
talk
about
some
incredible
plans
that
are
going
on
right
now
out
at
Carver.
Park
are
y'all.
Is
everybody
here
y'all
come
forward.
C
Good
morning
the
students
of
Reese
Road
Leadership
Academy,
along
with
the
edge
church
in
Reverend
Bell,
would
like
to
adopt
Carver
Park
Lake.
As
our
school-wide
K
through
5
stem
initiative.
Reverend
Bell
has
a
mentoring
program
called
Fishers
of
Men
that
mentors
youth.
The
group
teaches
lesson
using
phishing
analogies.
C
C
We
would
like
to
see
the
park
opened
after
business
hours
and
on
the
weekends
so
that
the
community
can
see
how
beautiful
the
park
is.
Carver
Park
was
once
a
place
where
people
could
go
for
family
gatherings,
a
place
where
people
could
go
have
fun,
enjoy
the
lake
and
relax
on
the
weekends.
Ultimately,
we
would
like
to
see
the
park
open
on
the
weekends.
If
you
are
able
to
open
it
back
up,
Imagine
The,
Many
Lives,
you
can
touch
in
a
positive
way.
Carver
Park
is
not
just
a
park.
It
is
vital
for
our
community.
B
I
had
the
pleasure
of
interviewing
Ms
Lampkin,
a
resident
of
the
community
surrounding
Carver
Park
Ms
Lamkin
stated
that
she
wants
to
see
people
to
be
able
to
study
and
get
fresh
air
there.
She
also
stated
that
when
she
was
on
her
lunch
break,
she
would
go
to
the
park
and
get
fresh
air.
Sometimes
this
Lampkin
would
sit
on
the
park
bench
and
read.
D
On
Friday
December,
2nd
2022,
we
had
the
opportunity
to
interview
Sergeant,
Angela,
Florence
and
Corporal
Paul
Moody
of
the
Columbus
Police
Department
crime
prevention
unit.
During
our
interview,
we
discussed
their
experience
of
Carver
Park
their
responses
that
depart
was
very
beautiful.
They
would
like
to
see
families
come
out
and
enjoy
fishing
walking
on
a
trail
and
children
being
able
to
have
fun
to
play
on
the
playground.
They
expressed
the
desire
to
see
the
part
open
and
available
for
the
community
residents.
C
B
In
fourth
grade
for
our
for
this
stem
project,
our
teachers
created
four
groups
to
help
us
learn
about
Carver
Park.
As
students
we
chose
which
group
we
would
like
to
research
and
find
more
information
about
Carver
Park,
the
colors
of
our
groups
are
blue,
green
red
and
yellow
the
blue
group.
Throw
was
to
explain
the
history
of
Carver
Park.
The
green
group's
role
was
to
discuss
the
difference
between
a
healthy
and
unhealthy
Park.
The
yellow
group
focused
on
the
different
types
of
fish
that
live
in
Carver
Park
Lake.
B
D
In
the
fifth
grade
for
this
stem
project,
we
recently
took
a
field
trip
to
Carver
Park
and
looked
around,
so
it
needed
to
be
worked
on
the
way
we
are
contributing
to
solving
the
problems
of
our
central
question
is
by
using
our
standards
to
addressing
the
issues
we
found
for
each
subject
in
social
studies.
We
are
answering
the
following
questions:
when
was
the
part
established?
D
C
As
a
result
of
our
Carver
Park
initiative,
we
have
secured
several
Partners
to
help
our
dreams
become
a
reality.
Our
teachers
have
been
trained
on
water
quality
by
Danielle,
an
education
consultant
with
Franklin
D
Roosevelt
State,
Park,
Dr
Chester,
fragile
supervisory
biologist
with
the
U.S
fish
and
wildlife
service
has
trained
our
teachers
on
which
fish
will
survive
and
thrive
in
the
pond.
We
have
identified
areas
of
need
based
on
our
research.
We
know
that
we
need
to
tackle
pollution
at
the
at
the
lake.
C
The
restrooms
need
to
be
cleaned
and
open
for
use
and
the
pump
and
the
lake
has
to
be
stopped.
In
addition,
we
are
partnering
with
Holly
Browder
of
the
Columbus
Parks
and
Recreation
Department
and
chief
Freddie
Blackman
of
the
Columbus
Police
Department,
to
ensure
Safety
and
Security
for
all
that
Carver
Park.
C
You
have
heard
from
my
peers
who
have
shared
examples
of
how
we
are
implementing
the
engineering
design
process,
which
begins
with
asking
a
question
of
how
do
we
solve
a
real
world
problem?
We
have
explored
the
park.
We
have
imagined
what
we
would
like
the
park
to
be
and
we
are
making
a
plan
to
make
our
dreams
come
true
for
Carver
Park.
We
would
love
to
have
access
to
the
park.
We
would
also
like
to
use
Carver
Park
as
an
educational
extension
to
our
programs
at
Reese,
Road,
Leadership
Academy.
A
To
the
now
I
know,
there's
got
to
be
some
proud
parents
out
there
y'all
stand
up
and
take
a
little
bit
of
credit
for
pouring
into
these
children.
Thank
you.
A
Know
I
had
the
I
had
the
pleasure
of
visiting
the
Reese
Road
Leadership
Academy
and
as
amazing
as
these
young
people
are
I
will
tell
you
they
are
not
the
exception.
It
Reese
Road,
Leadership
Academy.
They
are
the
rule
and
to
see
what
they
have
undertaken
and
so
many
times
grown-ups
will
see
an
issue
and
we'll
develop
paralysis
by
analysis.
We're
going
to
check
it
out
all
these
different
ways
and
no
dirt
gets
moved.
A
No,
no
fish
get
put
in
the
lake,
but
you
get
a
bunch
of
young
people
together
on
a
mission
and
they
start
asking
the
questions
and
they
start
working
towards
a
solution.
I'm
excited
Miss
Browder
did
you
want
to
mention
anything
I
know:
we've
we've
been
working
with
the
edge
church
and
we've
Public
Works
is
trying
to
work
out
some
timing
on
on
some
of
the
cleanup
and
things
out
there,
but
we're
we're
delighted
that
they're
taking
an
interest
in
kind
of
rejuvenating
that
that
Lake
absolutely.
E
Just
an
extremely
fun
and
educational
opportunity
for
the
students
at
restrain
Leadership
Academy.
This
is
what
outdoor
education
and
Recreation
can
come
together
and
produce
a
exceptional
program.
They
are
exceptional
students.
Their
faculty
are
exceptional.
We've
had
the
opportunity
to
meet
with
them
on
several
occasions
and
really
looking
forward
to
what
the
students
can
bring
not
only
to
the
park,
but
the
park
can
give
to
the
students.
So
this
is
just
a
great
opportunity
for
that
Park
and
for
our
community.
F
Thank
you,
Mr
Mayor,
and
let
me
just
commend
Reese
Road
Leadership
Academy.
These
students
were
awesome
and
I
feel
compelled
to
accept
their
challenge.
They've
I
think
they've
challenged
us
today.
They
are
well
dressed,
well
prepared,
well
researched
and
they
came
and
they
delivered
before
this
body
today
and
they
were
not
nervous
about
it
and
they
know
what
they
want.
They
know
where
they
want
to
go
and-
and
so
I
want
to
represent
you
mayor
and
Council.
In
accepting
that
challenge.
F
They've
asked
at
the
park
be
opened
on
the
weekend
and
among
work
on
the
lake
and
restocked
the
lake
and
we're
going
to
pull
the
video
and
and
we're
going
to
check
everything
that
they've
asked
for
in
fact,
I
wish.
F
They
would
give
us
a
copy,
provide
us
a
copy
of
each
of
the
challenges
delivered
by
each
and
and
so
I
want
to
say
to
them
that
I
want
to,
on
behalf
of
the
mayor
and
Council,
get
involved
by
assembling
our
team
to
deliver
on
all
of
the
challenges
they
brought
before
us
today,
and
so
they
mentioned
the
parks
and
rec
director
and
she's.
F
Here
they
mentioned
Chief
Freddie
Blackman,
but
what
I'd
like
to
do
is
bring
together
our
team
and
take
each
of
what
you've
asked
of
us
and
figure
out
how
we
can
deliver
on
your
ask
in
a
timeline
for
delivering
on
your
ask
and
and
open
the
part
on
on
the
weekends
as
they've
requested,
and
so
that
will
take
a
partnership
with
Parks
and
Rec
and
with
CPD
and
the
Sheriff's,
Office
and
I
believe.
F
If
both
the
sheriff
and
police
chief
come
together,
we
can
provide
the
necessary
security
and
Patrol
on
weekends,
at
par
at
Copper
Park
during
in
certain
hours
that
we
can
deliver
on
the
promise.
So
mayor
and
Council
I
will
work
on
your
behalf
to
deliver
the
promise
The
Challenge
on
the
challenge
that
they
brought
before
us,
and
so
I
will
be
assembling.
That
team
to
work
with
Reese,
Road,
Leadership,
Academy
and
and
and
come
back
to
you
and
give
a
report
an
update,
and
so
we've
recognized
the
students.
F
But
there
is
a
principle
that
she
should
come
up
and
let
us
and
introduce
yourself
and
because
they
are
following
good
leadership.
G
G
G
I
get
to
spend
a
lot
of
time
with
our
parents,
babies
that
they
become
my
babies
and
I'm
a
proud
mom.
So
this
is
a
proud
mommy
moment
for
me
with
them,
because
this
is
an
initiative
that
started
with
a
stem
ask-
and
this
is
a
school-wide
initiative,
because
we're
pushing
our
stem
certification
at
Reese,
Road,
Leadership,
Academy,
so
from
kindergarten
through
fifth
grade.
All
of
the
students
have
a
vested
interest
in
this
project.
G
That
is
the
culminating
school
project
and
I
am
so
appreciative
that
we
have
a
council,
a
mayor
and
a
city
manager
that
are
willing
to
help
us
extend
our
learning
opportunities
to
make
what
we
teach
them
in
the
books
apply
to
real
world
opportunities
and
real
life
challenges
that
we
have.
So
it
makes
it
very
important.
G
The
studies
that
we
are
doing-
and
you
would
be
amazed
at
the
questions
that
came
up,
which
is
why
we
had
to
ask
for
help
because
I
had
to
phone
a
friend
because
you
know
sometimes
we're
not
as
smart
bit
brighter
and
they
can
stomp
us
sometime
and-
and
it
is
phenomenal
that
we
have
the
community
and
the
partnership
that
we
can
reach
out
and
phone
and
call
and
without
a
doubt,
have
the
support
of
our
chief
of
police
to
to
send
officers
in
to
have
our
students
interview
them.
G
It
started
with
our
partner
in
education.
We
have
phenomenal
Partners,
but
Reverend
Bell
is
here
today
and
he's
a
phenomenal
partner
with
us
with
the
edge
church.
They
provide
a
lot
of
things
for
our
students
and
they
help
to
undergird
a
lot
of
the
academic
things
that
we're
trying
to
do
to
make
sure
that
our
students
get
from
Hands-On
opportunities.
So
we
do
appreciate
the
time
we
appreciate
the
opportunities
and
we
are
so
elated
and
thankful
that
you
have
accepted
the
challenge.
Mr
city
manager,
I
appreciate
that.
Thank
you
so
much.
A
You
man,
councilor
Woodson,.
H
I'd
just
like
to
take
this
moment
principle
along
to
say,
thank
you.
Thank
you
for
your
motivation
and
your
passion
I
believe
that
children
feed
off
of
our
lives
and
Reese
Road
Elementary
I
mean
Reese
Pho.
Now
is
the
leader
of
this
community
to
take
on
this
project.
I
hope
that
a
lot
of
other
schools
see
this
and
become
a
partner
in
some
of
the
issues
and
concerns
that
we
have
in
our
Parks.
These
children
are
outstanding,
their
parents
should
be
it's
lying
in
heaven.
H
You
know
excited
with
them
and
their
accomplishment,
and
they
did
they
showed
that
confidence
and
that
knowledge-
and
that
goes
to
say
thank
you
to
you,
your
staff
and
the
parents
to
taking
the
interest
in
our
children
lots
of
times
when
people
say.
Oh,
our
children
are
so
bad
they're
doing
it
really
takes
a
village
to
raise
a
child
and
everybody
it's
a
community
and
to
Isaiah.
H
Thank
you
thank
you
for
taking
on
that
challenge,
because
they
need
to
know
that
our
city
is
behind
them
and
to
Holly
Holly
I
know
you
love
new
projects,
all
the
time.
I,
don't
think
you
sleep,
you're,
constantly
thinking
of
a
new
project
or
someone
comes
to
you
you're
willing
to
at
least
explore,
and
if
something
you
feel
you
can
accomplish,
you
go
after
it
and
you
make
it
successful
and
I
just
want
to
say.
Thank
you
to
you
also
publicly.
I
Yes,
Pastor
Bell.
Can
you
step
forward?
Please
I
just
wanted
to
bring
Pastor
Bell
up
because
he
is
the
Visionary
behind
this
initiative.
I
can't
remember
what
month
it
was
that
we
met
at
your
church
in
the
meeting
that
we
had
you
Mr
Simmons
and
actually
Mr
Tony
Adams,
and
you
talked
about
the
vision
that
you
have
for
Carver
Park
and
wanted
to
revitalize
Carver
Park,
and
you
took
on
this
initiative
and
I
think
you
had
started
probably
over
a
year
ago.
I
Yes,
ma'am,
but
you
were
steadfast
and
immovable
and
I
appreciate
you
for
what
you're
doing
for
district
for
residents,
because
we
want
a
thriving,
you
know:
Community,
that's
vibrant,
just
like
any
other
location,
so
I
definitely
had
to
call
him
up,
because
he
is
the
point
person
for
this
initiative
and
I.
Thank
you
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart.
I
Thank
you
for
your
persistence.
Thank
you
for
your
dedication,
working
with
the
students.
This
is
amazing.
Thank
you
for
all.
You
do
the
edge
church
in
the
community,
whether
it's
giving
you
know
doing
food
drives
or
or
definitely
working
with
our
young
people.
I
J
J
We
did
not
do
our
job,
so
our
main
goal
is
to
impact
our
community
as
best
we
know
how
also
we
got
some
things
on
the
agenda
that
we're
looking
forward
during
next
year,
not
only
with
Reese
Road
we're
doing
something
with
Bull
Creek
that
is
coming
up
and
we're
partnering
with
the
YMCA
on
some
things
over
there,
because
we
believe
that
the
church
is
not
only
our
future,
but
they
are
our
today,
and
so
we
want
to
make
sure
that
they
have
all
the
tools
they
need
necessarily
to
be
successful
in
this
life,
because
all
of
them
is
not
going
to
college
all
of
us
not
going
to
military.
