Description
6/11/2019 - Dearborn Heights, MI
Study Session regarding the proposed 2019-2020 local and major street budget taking place Tuesday, June 11th 2019.
A
A
C
B
C
The
next
year's
paving
season
which,
when
this
budget
is
approved,
will
help
start
to
design,
and
hopefully
you
can
get
this
out
to
bid
sooner
than
later
for
next
year,
because
the
amount
of
work
that's
out
there
and
amount
of
contractors
are
out
there
to
do
that.
Work
is
it's
very
competitive
than
driving
prices
fairly
high,
so
the
sooner
we
can
get
this
done.
The
better
off
we'll
be
I'm
I
hand
off
to
Dan,
and
if
you
have
any
questions
for
me,
glad
to
help
answer
all
right.
D
All
right,
so
first
page
is
basically
a
summary
of
the
1819
budget
where,
where
it
stands
at
June,
30th,
2019
and
then
on
the
far
right-hand
two
columns
are
the
major
and
local
street
forecasted
budgets
all
right.
If
you
look
at
the
revenue
line
items
you
have
your
gas
and
weight
taxes,
majority
of
your
money,
which
is
your
act,
fifty
one
dollars
a
little
bit
of
interest
and
there
is
some
transfer
of
funds
from
the
local
to
major
street
categories
to
go.
D
D
D
If
you
look
at
the
start,
at
the
top
the
major
streets
we
have
Annapolis
from
Grindley
Park
to
Monroe,
that's
this
year's
that's
completed.
Fenton
from
Georgia
has
that's
going
to
start
in
two
weeks,
all
right
local
street
is.
We
have
the
second
half
lewis
manner
that
is
currently
out
for
bid
and
then
bid.
The
bids
are
coming
in
june
26th
and
then
we
have
George
Avenue.
Again,
that's
going
to
start
in
about
two
weeks,
along
with
Fenton
all
right
going
into
looking
in
19
and
20,
which
is
starting
July
1.
D
D
D
E
I
received
a
phone
call
today
and,
while
yesterday
excuse
me
from
a
homeowner
there
and
I'm
on
that
Street
every
day
right
I
go
visit.
My
mom
so
I
see
what
he
says.
He
has
nothing
but
a
pool
in
front
of
his
house
water
that
he
never
had
before
plus
there's
no
curbs
anymore.
People
are
actually
party
when
he
parked
in
front
of
his
house
since
there's
no
curb
to
get
onto
his
lawn
break
his
sprinkler
system.
He
asked
about
the
curbs
and
they
said
they
didn't
have
any
money
in
the
curb
fund.
D
E
A
part
of
a
curb
but
I
could
have
got
a
sixth
grader
to
do
a
better
job
than
that.
This
is
this
is
no
joke
and
I
think
mr.
Abdulla
has
seen
it
I
said
the
job
was
done:
horrible
and
okay
and
I
I'm,
not
gonna,
pay
any
money
to
these
contractors.
They
do
a
job
like
that,
so
you
can
say
zero
to
him,
because
that
was
a
horrible
horrible
job,
including
a
crack
down
the
middle.
Oh
yeah.
E
F
Hicks
Clayton
Thank
You
council
chair
my
question
and
concern
is
more
like
the
guarantee
and
warranty
on
the
road
work,
that's
being
done.
For
example,
a
few
years
ago,
maybe
two
years
ago,
the
entranceway
on
rosemary
and
Golf
Humana
was
redone.
It
is
like
a
washboard
and
it
was
addressed
with
a
current
or
not
a
current
I'm.
Sorry,
our
previous
DPW
director.
It
has
not
been
resolved
so
therefore,
what
type
of
guarantee
is
being
done
to
hold
the
contractors
accountable?
F
D
F
A
G
G
G
Be
sealed
and
with
the
crack
there
with
the
winner
you'll
have
to
going
and
coming
that's
gonna
eventually
open
up.
So
a
couple
questions
regards
to
the
budget.
If
you
could
answer
a
few
to
mind
for
him,
one
of
them
is
on
snow
and
ice.
I
noticed
that
there
was
on
local
act
jool
there
was
120
9797
and
then
the
local
for
the
projected
for
2019
dropped
to
91.
That's
pretty
significant
drop
about
30
and
40%.
Do
you
know
why
there's
such
a
large
drop.
C
Couple
of
things
is
one
reduce
salt
purchase,
so
in
both
bottle
salt
that
they
were
purchasing
in
the
past
seemed
a
little
bit
excessive.
So
I
have
to
find
myself
to
reduce
the
salt
purchase.
So
our
our
agreement,
when
we
go
up
to
we
went
to
my
bed
with
part
of
that
group,
so
we
had
to,
but
whatever
we
sign
up
for,
we
signed
up
for
bonds.
G
So
about
1.5
million
one
point
forward:
some
change.
The
question
is
with
so
much
left
over.
Are
we
not
budgeting
properly
or
B?
If
that's
already
there
and
hypothetically
it
can't
be
changed,
we've
already
taxed
people
who
have
ever
received
the
revenues
there.
Then,
why
not
use
it
for
a
lot
of
the
roads?
There
are
pretty
I
mean
you
know:
I
Drive,
all
the
streets
all
day
in
my
job,
so
there
are
some
pretty
bad
roads
as
there
are
obviously
throughout
the
state
of
Michigan.
D
D
G
G
H
H
That
all
of
it
or
partial,
follow
them.
Okay,
so
are
you?
Gonna
include
the
companies
that
we've
had
issues
with,
as
councilman
nos
no
thank
you.
I've
visited
the
same
homes
right.
You
have
the
right.
Okay,
I've
seen
some
of
this
stuff
I
mean
I
thought
it
was
like
a
five-year-old
that
actually
did
the
concrete
work
and
it
looks
like
play-doh.
H
D
A
E
I
I'd
like
to
make
a
positive
comment:
I
had
nothing
but
praise
about
the
Annapolis
Avenue
replacement,
the
speed
that
you
guys
did
the
contractor.
My
hat
goes
off
to
everyone
involved
in
the
city
and
contractors.
The
people
said
they
were
neat
back
feeling
it
was
done
properly.
The
driveways
approaches
were
all
in
and
nothing
say
nothing
but
good,
good
comments
about
that
job.
Thank
you.
E
F
Questions
really
simple:
it's
more
of
a
request.
I!
Imagine
you
use
a
pacer
system
for
determining
the
quality
of
the
roads,
the
rating
system.
Do
you
have
a
report
that
you
can
submit
to
the
councilmembers
most
core?
What's
current
a
current
based
report,
would
you
be
able
to
email
that
to
us?
Yes,
all
right!
Thank
you.
E
Concerning
the
the
the
resident
that
that's
complaining
about
the
big
puddle
of
water,
in
its
driveway
with
and
in
the
wintertime,
it's
just
very
hazardous,
especially
to
elderly
people
like
himself
taking
trash
cans
at
out.
What
is
the
priming
is
way?
Trim
gonna
go
out
there
and
look
at
this
to
see
what
went
wrong
with
this
he's
right
there
on
right
at
the
curve
on
before
you
know,
as
you
turn
as
you're
going
I
guess,
you
would
be
going
really
north
and
then
it
turns
from
Ford
Road.
It
did
is.
D
E
D
E
2004
and
I
hope
that
you
make
a
mental
note.
They've
got
a
cul-de-sac
on
Oakland
court,
the
court
itself,
if
they
can
shrink
that,
so
that
garbage
truck
can
go
around
there
right,
because
the
neighbors
now
they're,
because
they
can't
even
cut
the
law
and
the
trucks
are
going
over
it
and
especially
in
a
winner
door
tearing
up
the
whole
cul-de-sac
right.
The.
E
A
I
Saw
two
quick
things:
when
you
guys
do
the
sidewalks
at
intersections
I've
noticed
not
at
Annapolis,
but
some
are
streets
where
the
two
side
walls
come
down.
They
leave
that
little
curb
piece
in
the
middle.
You
know,
instead
of
make
it
smooth
all
the
way
down
from
both
sides
coming
down.
You
know
one
side
the
cross
over
like
this.
When
I
hit
the
street,
they
leave
a
little
right
in
the
mail
between
them.
I
mean
that
seems
like
it's
dangerous.
I
I
Yeah
yeah.
Sometimes
this
is
a
curb.
That's
this
big.
It's
like
stupid,
because
people,
you
know,
ride
your
bike
or
go
turning
the
corner.
Hit
that
curb
you
know,
I
mean
that's
something
we
should
look
into
because
I
every
time
I
see
it.
I
said:
why
did
they
bother
putting
a
little
curb
right
in
the
middle
of
the
sidewalk
area
there
and
the
second
thing
is:
can
you
tell
us
I'm
sure
everyone
want
wonders
what
those
little
pads
are
at
the
end
of
the
sidewalks,
but
when
they
come
into
the
street,
does.
