Description

If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
The
meeting
of
the
economic
development
committee-
let's
say
this
is
wednesday
july
26th
and
let's
see
so,
we
don't
currently
have
a
forum.
We
will
shortly
so
we'll
go
ahead
and
take
public
comments
and
I'll
I'll
call
it
the
role
first
and
then
call
again
so
javon
is
not
here.
I'm
claire
kelly,
jonathan
newsman
will
be
here
bobby
burns.
I'm.
B
A
Oh,
I'm
sorry
councilmember
reed.
C
C
And
john
says,
customer
news
was
on
the
phone
as
well
I'll,
be
there
in
person
in
about
12
minutes.
D
A
Okay,
well,
when
it's
not
here,
scott
ogawa.
A
Yeah,
terrific,
okay,
so
we'll
start
with
public
comments.
Actually.
E
I
mean
chair
kelly:
can
we
have
an
introduction
of
our
us
member?
We,
we
have
restructured
our
committee.
E
Looking
at
the
camera,
we
restructured
our
committee
to
include
a
member
of
the
mwebe
committee
as
a
liaison,
so
we
can
better
coordinate
the
initiatives
that
we
are
trying
to
accomplish
with
our
women
and
evanston
and
black
owned
minority-owned
businesses.
So
if
you
could
introduce
yourself
to
the
group,
thank.
F
You
so
I'm
angela
wilson
from
dc
and
evanston
residence
in
2005.,
both
of
our
kids
came
through
the
evanston
school
system
and
our
grown
young
men
now
and
I'm
the
owner
of
a
business
called
physio
partners.
It's
a
physical
therapy
practice
in
the
city
of
chicago
and
in
glenview
for
the
past
22
years,
and
I've
been
on
the
mwee
committee
since
last
year,
and
I
think
this
is
a
great
development
in
terms
of
collaboration
between
these
two
groups.
A
Fabulous
well,
thank
you
so
much
for
volunteering
today
on
this
committee,
thanks
a
lot
okay,
so
paul,
should
we
go
ahead
with
the
public
comments.
A
Once
sean
who
gets
here-
okay,
great
and
do
you
have
this
football
cheryl
judith.
G
A
G
G
Well,
good
evening,
everybody,
I'm
cheryl
g,
said,
of
course,
I'm
the
owner
of
heckey's
barbecue.
My
husband
was
happy,
so
I'd
first
like
to
start
out
by
saying
I'd
like
to
thank
the
economic
development
committee
and
the
city
of
edison
for
the
past
financial
support
of
hecky's
barbecue
when
hecky
passed
in
may
of
2020.
G
G
G
G
H
Italian
kitchen,
we
recently
celebrated
our
50th
year
here.
I
would
like
to
comment
on
this
program,
but
I
don't
know
very
much
about
it
other
than
it
sounds
like
a
really
good
idea.
So
when
there
are
particulars,
I
would
be
quite
happy
to
say
a
lot
more.
H
My
first
observation,
though,
was
that
there
was
discussion
of
25
000
grants
b,
that
is
it
may
or
whatever.
That
number
is.
I
also
saw
that
I
allocated
a
hundred
thousand
dollars
to
this
program.
I
don't
know
if
that's
correct
or
not
that
doesn't
work
very
well
for
the
math.
I
I
really
don't
know
what's
involved
with
the
money
for
this,
but
it
does
seem
that
if
you're
going
to
have
a
lot
of
legacy
businesses,
it
will
not
be
inexpensive.
H
Also,
I'd
like
to
be
on
the
record
is
saying
that,
yes,
this
is
a
great
idea,
and
we
need
to
be
cognizant
of
the
fact
that
there
are
many
in
the
community
as
individuals,
not
just
as
businesses.
Who've
had
a
worse
time
with
the
pandemic
than
we
have
had,
and
we
cannot
lose
sight
of
that.
Regardless
of
how
much
I
may
want.
As
much
as
I
can
get,
thank
you
thank
you.
C
Yes,
okay,
great,
so
to
get
some
brief
history
in
march
of
2015,
the
san
francisco
board
of
supervisors
voted
unanimously
to
establish
a
legacy
list
that
businesses
could
join
if
they
had
existed
for
more
than
30
years
and
could
show
significant
contribute
contributions.
San
francisco's
identity
in
november
of
the
state
year,
2015
proposition
j,
a
legacy
business
historic
preservation
fund
was
on
the
ballot
for
valve
for
voters
in
san
francisco,
and
it
was
widely
approved
by
san
francisco.
C
The
los
angeles
conservancy,
strongly
advocated
for
this
create
the
creation
of
this
program
that
offers
much-needed
funding
and
technical
assistance
to
long-time
businesses.
So
now,
los
angeles
joins
other
cities
that
have
already
created
successful
lake
legacy,
businesses
which
include
san
francisco
and
san
antonio.
C
It
would
be
great
for
evanston
to
establish
one
of
the
first
legacy
business
programs
in
the
midwest,
so
I
strongly
support
the
creation
of
a
city-wide
legacy
business
program
that
offers
funding
and
assistance
to
long-time
businesses
over
time.
I
could
see
this
being
used
as
a
tool
for
providing
educational
and
promotional
assistance
to
legacy
businesses
to
encourage
their
continued
viability
and
success.
This
program
is
a
great
way
to
acknowledge
the
contributions
of
our
city's
legacy,
businesses
and
what
and
what
they
have
made
to
the
their
contribution
to
the
city's
culture
and
economy.
A
I
don't
have
anybody
else.
So,
let's
see
john
cahill
senior
texted.
I
know
he
wanted
to
make
the
comments.
A
Okay,
so
if
I,
I
think,
he's
an
issue,
another
statement,
but
he
said
the
legacy,
businesses
have
a
very
strong
and
long-standing
commitment
to
churches,
synagogues,
schools,
service
clubs
and
many
other
groups
that
support
our
youth,
who
represent
the
future.
This
is
from
john
k,
helsinger
of
caleb,
who
support
our
youth,
who
represent
the
future
of
our
community
and
country.
A
Okay,
can
we
discuss
discuss
or
should
we
should
wait
for
the
quorum.
A
Items
so,
let's
see
okay
discussion
item
is
a
new
business
workshop
series
with
evanston
community
bank
and
with
us
for
that.
We.
A
So,
thank
you
very
much
for
having
me
here
tonight
really
looking
forward
to
the
possibility
of
partnering
msu
community
bank
and
trust
graduate
veterans
bank
with
instant
financial
literacy
series
for
businesses,
I'm
working
with
katie
to
come
up
with
some
ideas
around
workshops
that
would
bring
value
to
business
owners.
I
guess
the
genesis
of
this
was
really
the
need
for
business
owners,
particularly
emerging
businesses
and
entrepreneurs
that
know
their
specific
areas
of
specialty,
but
many
times
do
not
have
the
backend
infrastructure
knowledge
to
leverage
growth
opportunities
through
the
series.
A
We
hope
to
provide
baseline
knowledge
of
key
areas
and
provide
access
to
networking
and
other
resources.
Just
a
little
background
on
edmonton
community
bank
and
trust
and
wind
trust
we're
a
locally
owned
community
bank.
A
We
have
been
offering
financial
literacy
for
businesses
and
individuals.
Since
our
inception,
we
use
the
moneysmart
curriculum
for
the
federal
reserve
and
we
do
approximately
300
sessions
annually
for
individuals
and
businesses,
partnering
with
schools,
social
service
organizations,
libraries,
local
chambers
and
music
facilities
across
chicago
and
again.
We
do
appreciate
the
opportunity
to
park
for
the
city,
so
just
to
give
you
a
little
overview
of
what
we're
thinking
in
terms
of
the
different
sessions.
A
We
have
identified
four
topics
that
would
be
hosted
over
a
series
of
weeks,
starting
in
september
through
november,
at
we're
thinking
about
the
ywca
on
ridge
that
has
really
renovated
community
space.
A
All
of
our
presenters
are
evanston
based
businesses
and
residents,
and
two
of
our
presenters
that
we're
recommending
are
actually
entrepreneurs
in
their
own
right.
So
the
first
session
is
called
business
formation.
How
entity
choice
and
structure
impacts
your
business?
A
Our
next
session
is
the
story
behind
the
numbers.
What
is
your
business
telling
you?
Our
presenter
would
be
amy,
seizel
who's,
a
cpa
and
founder
of
clarence's
accounting
group
she's.
Also
a
quickbooks
advanced
certified
pro
advisor.
She
has
previously
founded
and
scaled
several
startups
and
brings
her
real
world
experience
in
advising
her
clients.
She
also
founded
her
physicians
in
2013
in
evanston
and
she's,
headquartered
in
custer
avenue.
A
Our
third
session
is
borrowing
basics
when
to
consider
taking
on
debt,
our
presenter
is
megan
tolger,
who
is
an
evanston-based
lender
with
evanston
community
bank
and
trust.
She
focuses
on
small
business
customers
and
she's,
been
with
the
bank
for
eight
years.
A
She
will
discuss
how
to
effectively
use
debt
to
grow
your
business
types
of
credit
facilities,
as
well
as
when
it's
appropriate
to
seek
funding
from
a
micro
lender
or
a
traditional
financial
institution,
and
then
our
final
proposed
session
is
how
to
talk
to
your
banker.
Why?
Having
a
relationship
with
your
banker
is
important
and
our
presenter,
for
that
is
kurt
hansen,
who's,
our
branch
manager
at
our
evanston
community
bank
and
trust
growth,
location
and
he's
been
with
the
bank
for
11
years.
A
A
Types
of
documentation
you
might
need
to
open
a
business
account
and
other
resources
that
you
would
find
available
through
your
relationship.
So
that's
just
a
quick
synopsis
of
what
we're
considering
entertaining
questions.
Thank
you
very
much.
It
sounds
like
a
really
beneficial
series.
Is
it
and
how?
How
do
people
sign
up
for
this.
J
I
Registration
form
that
we've
created
so
we'll
start
marketing
it.
This
we
would
leave
the
marketing
effort
through
our
newsletters.
This
is
the
newsletter,
the
economic
development
newsletter
through
the
business
district
groups,
all
the
business
district
leaders
through
their
groups
and
like
the
local
business
owners.
You
know
we.
C
I
A
series,
but
they
could
attend
each
one
individually,
it's
free
to
businesses
to
attend.
I
will
say
that
the
four
topics
we
chose
came
up
because
those
were,
I
think,
the
ones
that
I
I
feel
like.
We
get
the
most
questions
that
we
were
trying
to
field,
especially
you
know.
We
have
a
lot
of
businesses
who
are
just
starting
out
and
they
ask
us
a
lot
about
that.
So
that's
how
we
identify
those
topics.
A
I
think
also
maybe
the
home-based
business
network
and
some
of
the
other
local
business
groups
we
would
reach
out
to.
I
Thank
you
for
bringing
that
up.
We
have
all
the
home-based
businesses
that
we
have
registration
data
on.
We
probably
just
reach
out
to
them,
also
directly
just
to
let
them
know
that.
E
E
It's
an
investment
rate
from
the
staff
time
to
help
our
small
businesses
grow,
and
the
reason
we
trust
we
want
to
partner
with
us
is
that
we
have
the
ability
to
broadcast
to
a
broader
audience
and
I'm
sure
wintrust
is
going
to
do
their
own
because
we
haven't
seen
community
bank
is
going
to
do
their
own
marketing,
but
this
just
enhances
it.
If
you
focus
on
efforts.
A
And
I
just
also
like
to
say,
there's
a
huge
wealth
of
talent
here
in
evanston
in
terms
of
presenters,
which
I
think
it's
a
great
opportunity
to
tap
into
those
folks
as
well,
particularly
post-pandemic.
When
you
know
people
haven't
had
as
much
visibility
with
the
resources
that
we
have
here
so.
A
B
First,
just
wanted
to
acknowledge
that
you
know,
although
everything
pity
bank
of
trust
hasn't
been
in
evanston
for
long,
you
hardly
can't
tell
because
of
the
hiring
practices
and
a
lot
of
people
have
had
opportunities
to
work.
There
work
there
now
you
know
through
supporting
the
nonprofit
community
and
for
these
initiatives.
I
really
appreciate
all
of
the
evidence
of
premises
that
you
trust.
It
means
a
lot.
B
A
few
comments,
just
a
quick
one
of
is
the
story
behind
the
numbers.
What
is
your
business
telling
you?
I
feel
like
that's
missing
something
all
the
other
ones.
You
read
it
and
you
know
exactly
what
you're
going
to
get.
That's
the
only
one
that
is
a
little
confusing.
I
don't
know
what
I'm
going
to
get
from
it,
so
I
would
tweak
that
a
little
bit,
I
don't
know
how
I'm
sure
the
author
can
figure
that.
A
B
B
Another
thing
I
think
in
addition
to
these
in
a
future
series,
I
always
appreciate
when
you
plan
these
around
member
organization
meetings,
because-
and
I
say
this
all
the
time-
probably
a
broken
record,
but
you
know
you
can
hope
to
get
five
to
ten
people
to
show
up
at
this
date
at
this
time.
At
this
place
you
hope
they
show
up.
But
if
you
work
with
a
member
organization,
their
members
are
going
to
show
up
on
this
day
at
this
place
at
this
time,
and
so
you
know
you
have
an
audience
of
20
30
40..
B
So
I
think,
like
the
foster
singer
club
you're,
going
to
get
30
people
every
meeting,
it's
not
an
if
it's
it's
an
absolute
and
so.
J
B
You
know
picked
a
topic
specifically
for
that
group.
You
know
you
wouldn't
have
an
audience
of
thirty,
and-
and
so
I
think
this
is
fine
for
this
time
around,
but
I
would
say
during
the
next
series
you
know
and
work
with
a
few
member
organizations,
and
there
are
a
few
of
them
in
the
fifth
ward
around
evanston
that
I
could
recommend-
and
I
think
you'll
have
you'll-
have
some
additional
success.
H
A
Yeah
as
many
groups
as
we
can
plug
into
to
promote
it,
that's
what
we're
looking
to
do,
and
you
know
to
your
point
bobby.
There
definitely
is
value
in
plugging
into
an
existing
meeting
with
an
organization
because
you've
got
a
known
headcount,
and
so
this
is
really,
I
guess,
a
pilot
right.
We're
not
you
know,
I
think
if
we
got
25
people
in
the
room,
we'd
be
very
happy.
B
A
B
A
A
So
now
we
have
a
form,
so
we
can
move
to
our
first
item
of
business.
My
first
cashline,
which
is
the
legacy
business
program,
and
I
am
just
really
really
happy
that
we're
hopefully
taking
oh,
go
ahead.
A
The
minutes,
I'm
sorry,
is
there
a
motion
to
do
that.
Thank
you.
A
A
Our
first
item
is
the
legacy
business
program
and
allocated
funding
to
launch
it,
and
I
just
think
this
is
really
exciting
that
tonight
we're
hopefully
taking
the
first
step
to
formalize
a
program
to
honor,
promote
and
support
our
legacy,
businesses
with
representatives
here
this
evening.
That
means
so
much
to
our
community
to
the
fabric
of
our
community,
to
our
identity.
A
What
makes
evanston
evanston
not
just
a
city
on
the
lake,
so
we
did
and
just
for
some
points
of
clarification,
we
have
a
working
room
which
had
its
first
meeting
and
included
a
few
members
of
the
preservation
commission,
also
and
I'll
jump
in
and
correct
me.
If
I
leave
out
anything
that
we
that
we
discussed.
So
we
talked
about
allocating
an
initial
a
hundred
thousand
dollars
to
launch
the
program.
There
was
no,
mr,
but
I
think
maybe
that
was
the
25
might
have
been
some
other
program
within
the
economic
development.
H
Which
is
what
I
had
seen
you
know
in
the
press.
I.
A
So
this
and
what
we
talked
about
is
for
just
this
year
initially
to
launch
the
program
with
a
hundred
thousand
dollars
to
begin
a
program
of
promoting
it,
a
website,
an
rfping
for
for
some
plaques,
something
beautiful
that
stores
could
and
businesses
can
put
outside
and
and
then
additionally,
we're
going
to
continue
to
meet.
So
we
haven't
established
the
parameters.
Yet
we
will.
Our
next
meeting
is
next
week.
A
I
believe
we're
meeting
every
two
weeks
right
now,
so
we
can
really
get
it
started.
We're
looking
at
other
programs
like
san
francisco,
austin,
durham
north
carolina
that
have
already
a
lot
of
cities
now
are
just
starting
to
do
this
supporting
their
legacy.
Businesses,
I
think,
coming
out
of
copenhagen.
A
Many
cities
saw
the
importance
of
really
valuing
and
investing
in
those
legacy.
Businesses.
You
know
understanding
how
much
they
mean
to
your
communities.
So
I
don't
know
if
you
want
to
chime
in.
E
Yeah,
the
only
thing
go
to
add
just
just
to
be
clear.
We
were
directed
to
bring
forward
some
recommendations
to
create
a
working
group
for
the
legacy
business
program.
That
working
group
has
not
met.
It's
a
it's,
a
kind
of
like
we'll
call
it
the
founding
fathers
or
the
founding
fathers
and
mothers
of
that
working
group.
It
was
an
information
gathering
session
that
will
eventually
lead
to
the
creation
of
the
working
group.
E
We've
done
some
preliminary
research,
so
that
group
is
set
up
to
meet
every
two
weeks
and
at
our
next
meeting
of
the
full
committee,
which
isn't
until
september,
unless
this
special
meeting
is
called
this
committee,
this
committee,
the
academic
development
committee,
I
think
by
then
we
should
have
a
recommendation
for
the
working
group
structure.
J
E
E
But
100
000,
we'll
commission
an
artist,
create
a
plaque,
a
sculpture,
something
that
a
tile
like
these
are
the
ideas
we've
made.
It's
really
creative
and
then
create
and
actually
we're
gonna
have
to
hire
a
website
designer
because
we
were
so
influenced
by
the
san
francisco
model.
It's
it's
really
attractive
and
we
can
do
that
under
these
startup
funds.
I
really.
E
I
really
believe
that
the
the
idea
of
grants
and
incentives,
that's
something
to
follow
when
mr
glatt
said
that's
something
that
could
evolve
in
the
future,
that's
going
to
depend
on
where
the
working
group
goes
with
it
with
the
city.
Council
ultimately
wants
to
do
with
it,
but
the
25
000
program
that
exists
today
is
kind
of
like
the
storefront
modernization
program,
where
we
have
some
funds
and
help
with
modernization,
but
we're
not
there.
Yet
we
don't
know
what
this
program's
going.
A
But
we're
hoping
down
the
line
it
could
be.
You
know,
including
you
know,
line
items
annually
for
this
program,
so
this
would
be
to
get.
We
know
we
want
this.
We
want
to
move
forward
on
it,
so
this
is
an
initial
investment
to
launch
it
and
and
in
the
working
group
we
absolutely
want
to
have
business
owners
legacy
business
owners
as
part
of
the
networking
group
to
know
the
needs
and
what
what
helps
to
really
support
those
businesses.
A
So
the
first
meeting
was
mr
zomzak,
myself,
carl
klein
susie
ryan
who's.
The
chair
of
the
preservation
commission
is
that
it,
I
think,
that's.
E
E
A
Issue
right
so
that
study
that
we
will
then
have
and
we'll
start
establishing.
You
know
what
we
so
many
different
cities
have
different
definitions
of
what's
legacy.
Some
I
think
san
francisco
is
30
years
and
san
antonio
is
20
years.
So
we're
going
to
be
looking
over
all
that
this
upcoming
week
and
studying
that
and
making
some
decisions
regarding
what
constitutes
levels
of
businesses
and.
A
Yeah,
and
so
that's
that's
the
other
piece
right,
so
you
know
mr
zombie
will
work
on
our
rfp
and
we'd.
Also
love
small
business
legacy
business
input
as
to
what
you
know
what
would
be
ideal
to
be
able
to
hang
but
outside
your
business.
So
we
thought
about
tiles.
We
thought
we
wanted
to
be
something
beautiful.
E
Item
the
action
designing
just
clarification
is
we're
seeking
to
commit
the
hundred
thousand
dollars
from
the
business
district
improvement
fund.
We
don't
have
to
go
back
to
the
city
council
for
this,
because
you've
already
allocated
the
funds.
It's
just
it's
for
business
district
improvements,
it's
just
our
way
of
using
that
particular
fund.
That's
already
been
improved,
so
we
need
the
motion.
B
Now,
that's
just
one-
I
haven't
put
enough
thought
into
this,
but
I
know
the
work
people
will
trust
that
they
will.
B
K
B
Some
way
to
support
them,
you
guys
can
work
towards
them
absolutely.
A
For
developers
where
they
go
into
first
community
benefits
to
contribute
to
this
fund
and
discuss
how
the
funds
can
look,
whether
it's
an
annual
line
item.
What,
if
having
potentially
an
annual
line
item,
but
then,
in
addition,
having
a
separate
fund
for
things
that
developers
might
contribute,
it
can
be
a
benefit
others.
Just
residents
might
like
to
contribute
to
a
fund,
and
that
would
be
a
separate
fund
that
can
grow,
whereas
it
would
be
just
a
regular
annual
fund.
A
So
and
yes,
I
think,
there's
a
lot
of
really
fun
ideas
for
promotion
around
this,
including
you
know
the
first
batch
when
they
get
named
and
events
around
them.
J
A
Okay,
perfect,
okay,
is
that.
J
J
E
So,
let's,
let's
collaborate
here
karen
and
our
teammate
thomas
as
our
entire
team,
so
shall
we
introduce
karen
as
everyone
in
the
pharaoh
I'm.
D
J
E
But
I
want
I
want
to
tee
it
up,
as
we've
been
talking
about
connections
and
interactions
between
divisions
and
functions
in
our
city
for
a
long
time.
I
want
to
do
this
with
mwb.
I
want
to
deal
with
paris
team.
I
want
to
do
the
art
of
council,
and
this
is
another
example
of
where
we
can
work
together
on
this.
E
L
That
program
I
talked
with
this
wonderful
team
in
economic
development
and
also
brian
zimmerman
and
solid
waste
coordinator
to
brainstorm
how
we
can
move
away
from
celebrating
the
leaders
in
the
space
to
actually
intervening
and
helping
make
something
happen
that
wouldn't
otherwise
happen
and
then
simultaneously.
These
conversations
were
happening.
J
L
So
we
have
one
group
of
interventions
that
would
be
associated
with
energy
generally
either
energy
efficiency
all
the
way
up
to
solar
pv
and
then
on
the
other
side,
also,
which
is
unique
from
the
one-stop
shop
proposal.
Interventions
related
to
waste.
As
we
know,
that's
a
huge
and
important
stream
of
resources
for
businesses
and
also
a
big
expense.
So
then
it
would
help
businesses
compost
if
they
didn't
necessarily
have
the
resources
to
consider
doing
that
before.
L
E
I
think
we
we
treat
it
like.
We
treat
a
lot
of
our
grant.
Programs
probably
expect
a
match,
we'll
have
as
I've
highlighted
or
as
we've
highlighted
in
this
memo.
We
have
you
know
if
we
invest
in
a
company
and
they
leave
there's
a
there's
a
burnout
period
at
that
grant,
and
then
they
owe
us
some
percentage
of
their
back
so
that
justice
callbacks.
E
B
My
first
thought
is:
is
whether
or
not
tiff
is
a
good
source
of
funds,
because
all
of
these
are
tip
eligible
experiences
already,
and
so
I
think
what
we
could
do
on
tiff
is
is
required
that
if
we
are
going
to
give
you
money
to
make
these
improvements
that
you
do
need
in
this
way
right
in
a
sustainable
way
and
with
an
option.
That
is
not
even
consistent.
So
if
you
tweak
that
program
to
require
that
the
city
provides
funds
to
the
funds
that
they
need
to
make
these
purchases.
B
A
Yeah
is
there
a
a
cap
on
in
terms
of
like
how
so
is
this
for
businesses
that
are
struggling
or
is
it?
Can
anybody.
I
Right
so
we
kind
of
again
matched
it
to
what
we
have
in
our
existing
grant
programs
where
they
had
over
10
locations
that
they
were
franchised,
then
they
would
be
ineligible.
They
do
have
to
have
their
location.
It
happened
to
be
a
registered
evidence
of
business,
but
that
was
really
it.
F
I
L
E
Well,
I
I
would
recommend
that
at
least
at
first
just
so,
we
can
see
how
it's
going
and
get
feedback,
but
it
could
turn
into
like
some
of
the
other
programs
that
katie's
helped
us
make
more
efficient.
So
it
got
to
the
point
over
the
years
where
projects
were
kind
of
always
approved
like
the
entrepreneurship
grants,
where
there
were
two
small
three
thousand
dollar
grant
and
we
make
people
come
and
present
and
and.
E
To
celebrate
that
at
first,
but
then
it
became,
I
don't
wanna,
say
rubber
stamp
yeah.
It
was
like
okay,
we're
meeting
the
standard,
we're
helping,
let's
just
make
it
efficient
from
meeting
time
perspective,
but
also
not
making
people
sit
in
the
council
chambers
for
an
hour
to
get
their
approvals
right.
So
I
think
I
think.
E
And
even
to
the
point
where,
once
once,
there's
comfort
with
the
program
that
there's
some
administrative
staff
approval
with
a
report
or
communication
to
the
community
council
yeah
down
the
road
love
it.
I
think
this
is
good
news
for
upper
money,
too.
We've
been
looking
for
ways
to
use
our
better
to
support
our
sustainability
goals
that
we
can
justify
it
as
an
arpa
expense,
one
way
or
the
other
under
I
yeah.
I
think
we
can,
when
we
checked
in
with
sarah
flax
on
this,
we
put
it
into
memo
as
potential
funding
source.
F
I
just
asked
a
fun
question
about
the
clawback
mechanisms,
so
I
know
these
are
small
brands,
but
you
know
business
leaves
out
instead,
what,
if
do,
take
the
small
claims
court
to
get
your
money
back.
E
Sometimes
we
just
wave
it
because
it's
such
a
small
amount,
but
you
know
there
are
times
where
we
we've
had
to
try
to
proceed
through
legal
action.
I
I
doubt
we
would
devote
time
on
a
thousand
dollar
grant,
but
but
I
think
to
protect
the
taxpayer
dollars.
You
should
have
that
structure
in
place
to
set
that
expectation.
E
I
think
it's
probably
not
worth
it
at
some
point.
It
becomes
worth
it
so,
looking
at
the
fifth
tier
here,
ten
thousand
plus,
I
know
it
would
make
sense
to
have
some
claw
back
mechanisms
in
place,
but
for
first
second,
maybe
even
third
tier
it
might
not
be
worth
the
effort,
the
other.
The
other
thing
we
discussed
was
if
there
was
an
investment
in
a
leasehold
improvement
that
stays
with
the
property
that
there's
probably
no
need
for
a
callback,
because
the
next
person
is
benefiting
from
it
right.
So
that's
something
to
consider
as
well.
I
A
D
Sorry
this
is
a
silly
question,
but
just
because
it
mentioned
the
two-year
pilot
and
then
finding
sustainable
funding
sources.
If
the
pilot
is
successful,
how
how
do
you
evaluate
success
in
something
like
this.
L
So
we
would
use
a
lot
of
the
same
metrics
that
the
one-stop
shop
for
affordable
housing
retrofits
uses
and
then
also
we
would
have
metrics
associated
with
waste
as
well.
So
in
the
initial
categories
of
both
the
project,
examples,
there's
sort
of
an
audit
process
that
will
take
place,
and
so
one
of
the
most
important
metrics
is
their
baseline
waste
metrics,
for
example,
or
energy
metrics,
and
then
comparisons
after
the
intervention
and
how
successful
that
was.
And
if
we
can
show
and
demonstrate
a
proof
of
concept.
D
L
E
I
would
also
point
out,
if
you
don't
mind,
I
think
we
could
also
it's
not
just
for
the
businesses.
I
don't
know
if
we
talked
about
the
landlords,
when
they're
participating
with
tenant
improvement
allowances
for
their
tenants,
I
think
we
can
help
match
whatever
they're
offering
out
of
our
added
islands.
So
again
it
could
be
the
landlord's
defense
fixed
this
whole
improvement
or
the
business
itself.
L
There's
also
something
that
I
failed
to
mention
that,
I
think,
is
one
of
the
most
exciting
aspects
of
our
proposal
is
the
creation
of
a
network,
so
presumably
the
grantees
upon
notification
that
they
would
receive
an
award.
We
had
talked
about
getting
them
together
so
that
they
could
share
best
practices,
because
that
is
something
that
was
so
promising
about.
The
sustainability
program
is
to
have
this
group
of
recognized
businesses
together,
either
on
a
website
or
receiving
the
same
information,
and
so
we
also
talked
about
having
that
network,
where
shared
practices
could
be
shared.
M
No,
I
think,
a
lot
of
the
projects
I
think,
there's
a
definite
desire.
One
of
the
ones
that
I'd
love
to
highlight
is
the
potential
for
capital.
One
of
the
things
I
know
we'll
run
into
on
the
waste
that
is
just
a
lack
of
space,
not
able
to
put
extra
containers
down
for
composting
or
food
waste
dispersion
and
being
able
to
try
to
help
these
businesses
and
property
management
groups
find
that
space
and
be
more
efficient
with
their
space
will
go
a
long
way,
not
only
from
a
diversion.
E
L
I
I
think
there
was
also
some
hope
that,
like
routine
some
piece
of
the
old
program
where
there
was
a
lot
of
low
and
no
cost
thing,
they
would
also
do
as
a
part
of
this
like
implement.
You
know
some
of
these
sustainability
measures
that
are
no
cost
to
them,
but
they're
still
participating
in
what
that
program
was.
E
Could
we
consider
making
recycling
a
requirement
for
eligibility
and
we
just
approved
a
new
recycling
contract
and.
M
In
that
part
of
the
service
is
that
a
large
portion
of
the
apartment
buildings
are
being
serviced
by
the
city
for
recycling
services.
It
was
a
program
that
was
done
back
in,
like
2019
2018.
The
city
took
on
responsibility
for,
like
the
larger
scale,
apartment
complexes,
to
provide
them
some
element
of
recycling
so
that
number's
a
little
depreciated
on
that
side.
It's
actually,
I
just
finishing
up
the
numbers
today,
it's
probably
around,
like
65,
almost
70
percent
of
the
commercial
accounts
that
are
under
the
commercial
franchise
have
some
element
of
recycling
currently
going
on.
M
So
it's
not
as
dire
as
it
seems.
I
wish
I
had
that
context,
but.
J
A
I
J
E
This
program
started
out
as
a
recognition
and
a
celebration
kind
of
component,
and
only
that
I
don't
want
to.
I
don't
think
we
should
lose
that,
but
I
love
the
direction
we're
taking
it
here,
but
we
should
still
be
recognizing
the
businesses
that
are
doing
this
work
going
above
and
beyond,
like
what
government
burns
said,
just
sharing
our
social
media
with
them
for
a
day
or
something
like
that.
J
A
Thank
you
any
other
questions
or
comments,
so
so
mr
zone
said:
do
we
with
this
idea.
E
E
Here
you
would
come
back
here
for
a
formal
request
to
with
a
program
program,
guidelines,
funding
and
then
I
suspect,
for
I
mean
we
sat
in
the
medal-
that
we
would
like
to
ask
for
a
quarter
of
250
000.
once
a
quarter
from
arpa
to
get
the
ball
rolling
on
it,
and
that,
of
course
require
council
action.
E
You
know
I'll
share
a
few
highlights.
We
talked
about
downtown
evanston,
the
movie
theater
is
still
plugging
along.
Do
I
have
a
day
yeah,
you
know
the
date.
The
date
is
obviously
you
know
it
was
thanksgiving
that
was
christmas
in
january,
so
now
they're,
saying
july,
but
it's
almost
august.
So
honestly
there's
some
action.
They
have
five
birds
per
minutes
for
a
food
establishment
to
have
temporary
concessions.
E
E
Well,
so,
just
to
be
clear,
the
work
happening
on
the
theater
is
not
likely
to
be
visible
from
the
street
because
working
on
the
12
theaters
on
this
on
the
north
side
of
the
property,
it's
all
interior,
I
suspect,
when
they
open
they'll,
be
transitioning
slowly
into
their
pole,
like
they're,
not
going
to
open
a
brand
new
theater
like
you're,
going
to
be
using
some
of
the
facilities
that
are
already
there
and
I
feel
like
the
grand
opening
is
not
going
to
be
as
grand
as
we'd
like
it
to
be,
because
I
think
they're
going
to
be
building
out
their
final
product
over
time
and
they're
struggling
with
staff
issues.
E
E
You
want
to
mention
it
or
something
so,
there's
there's
one
on
it
working
on,
so
that's
that
we
are
continuing
just
so.
You
know
I
want
to
bring
up
the
clean
team.
The
clean
team
proposal,
which
is
this
enhanced
cleanup
of
our
business
districts,
a
group
dedicated
to
that
on
a
daily
basis.
E
E
E
It
doesn't
do
a
lot
for
cleanup
and
she
can
put
that
into
a
marketing
campaign
or
events
so,
and
that
happens
in
each
of
the
districts.
So
I'm
excited-
and
I
want
to
make
sure
that
I
demonstrate
that
to
the
entire
council
and
then
the
you
all
have
been
contacted
by
the
interface
studios
consultant
who
are
working
diligently
on
this
business
district
strategy
and
implementation
plan,
and
I
think,
we've
all
been
pretty
pleased
with
their
performance.
E
So
far
I
mean
again
july
and
august
is
their
time
where
they're
gathering
information
and
doing
interviews
and
they're
going
to
be
setting
up
a
task
force,
and
then
this
I
always
miss
the
third
one.
There's
a
task
force.
There's
a
focus
group
and
there
are
interviews
so
business
owners
residents
are
all
going
to
have
a
chance
to
serve
in
some
way,
whether
that's
an
hour
interview
sitting
on
a
task
force
or
sitting
in
a
focus
group
and
contributing
to
that.
E
I
I
believe
they
will
update
this
as
they
have
anything
else,
but
this
is
kind
of
yeah,
just
where
they're
at
right
now
so.
E
Okay,
so
there's
a
number
of
ways:
one
you
could
have
an
entire
office
two.
We
have
a
massive
list
of
individuals,
business
owners,
people
that
helps
members
that
refer
to
us
very
long
spreadsheet
people
in
order
to
contact.
So
if,
if
somebody's
actually
watching.
E
And
you're
interested
in
participating,
you
can
contact
our
office.
All
of
our
contact
information
is
on
our
academic
development
web
page
and
we
would
love
to
get
you
a
call,
and
I
think,
once
soon
very
like
in
the
next
couple
weeks,
there's
going
to
be
like
an
activation
mechanism
at
like
in
store
funds.
Posters,
signage
things
that
are
like
people
are
going
to
start.
Seeing
this,
I
would
ask
each
of
you
if
you,
if
there's
somebody
in
your
community
in
your
lord,
your
friendship
circle
that
you
would
like
to
be
qualified.
You
know.
B
The
owner
has
a
property
manager
that
they're
working
with
skyline
realty.
Let's
just
go
with
that.
If
you
can
reach
out
and
just
get
a
sense
of
if
they
have
anybody
that
is
interested
in
if
they
have
somebody
already
that
you're
just
that's
that's
a
sign
of
leasing,
if
not
I'd
like
to.
B
Where
they've
been
applied
to
leaves.
K
E
E
E
B
I
guess,
generally
speaking,
every
once
in
a
while,
I
get
a
call
from
someone
who
is
just
looking
for
a
storefront
space.
Is
there?
Is
this
online
anywhere,
which
is
a
searchable
site
or
something
where
people
can
see?
What
the
open
listings
are?
I
guess
that
might
be
scattered
in
different
sites,
but
we
have
the
same.
E
I
understand
the
question,
so
I
don't
believe
our
website
is
equipped.
We
used
to
have
our
website
equipped
to
be
connected
with
loopnet,
loopnetwood
and.
E
So
that's
why
we
kind
of
dropped
it
because
you
just
say:
hey
look
at
luke,
but
I'm
working
on
a
project.
I
think
you're,
aware
of
with
mr
reeves
on
the
team,
where
we're
going
to
be
sending
out
listings
of
available
properties
to
targeted
business
times.
This
is
related
to
candidates.
E
So
what
we
could
do,
I
hate
to
add
more
reporting
to
the
list,
but
what
we
could
do
just
for
the
sake
of
adding
a
service
to
the
community
like
we
can
take
our
our
paid
co-star
database.
We
pay,
I
think
it's
20
000
a
year,
for
I
might
be
wrong.
It
might
be
more
than
that.
Actually,
but
it's
invaluable
it's
how
we
do
all
of
our
work
and
we
can
post
listings
by
ward
or
just
list
them
all
like
here
are
storefronts
that
are
available.
E
One
of
the
reasons
we
don't
we
haven't
necessarily
done.
That
is
because
there
are
so
many
ways
to
get
that
information
that
we're
we're
kind
of
repetitive
and
sometimes
even
have
the
least
information,
because
brokers
often
know
way
more
than
we
do,
because
they
know
things
that
are
on
the
market
and
but
I
I
I
think
we
should.
I
think
we
should
get
back
to
it.
Councilmember
my.
B
B
F
That
just
someone
rents,
a
commercial
property
that
is
so
vast
in
its
offering
it
can
be
hard
to
sort
through
like
the
idea.
If
I
knew
I
wanted
to
open
a
business
in
evanston
in
this
area-
and
you
know
it
was
concise
with
perhaps
some
value.
E
A
Okay,
let's
see
is
that
I
think
that's
our
last
item,
any
other
questions.
B
B
You
can,
where
someone
that
has
a
particular
use
is
looking
for
storefront
to
build
it
up,
but
if
we
can
kind
of
market
to
them.
Okay,
these
are
our
top
five
places
that
we
think
would
be
great
for
a
new
bakery,
a
new
restaurant.
I
think
that
can
align
nicely
with
some
of
our
other
planning
that
we're
going
to
do
community
planning.
B
A
A
All
ready
so
not
to
have
to
invest
in
that
to
find
other
venues.
So,
like
to
your
point,
I
think
it
would
be
great.
You
know.
Like
I
don't
know,
I
gave
a
few
suggestions
of
places
where
I
thought
that
panera
might
have
that
you
know
spaces,
but
I
don't
think
to
have
a
list
like
that
would
be
amazing.
