A
Hello,
I'm
city
manager,
Wally,
Bob
Boyd,
so
welcome
to
this
week's
edition
of
Evanston
spotlight,
where
we
talk
about
upcoming
items
on
the
Evanston
City
Council
meeting
and
coming
up
next
Monday
on
Monday
December
10th
we're
going
to
be
talking
about
the
city's
new
climate
action
and
resilience
plan,
also
known
as
carp
enjoining
me
today
is
Kumar
Jensen,
our
sustainability
quarter
coordinator
Kumar
good
morning
Bob.
So
the
cart
plans
been
what
a
year
in
the
making
white
you
talked
about.
How
we've
got
here
and
a
little
bit
about
what
the
plan
says:
yeah.
B
B
When
he
came
into
office,
he
signed
numerous
pledges
committing
the
city
to
do
various
different,
meet
various
different
goals
and
one
of
the
differences
with
this
plan
is
that
we're
not
just
thinking
about
energy
use
in
transportation,
we're
actually
thinking
about
the
ways
in
which
Evanson
will
be
impacted
by
climate
change,
and
so
how
do
we
prepare
to
be
a
resilient
community
in
the
face
of
climate
change?
So.
B
A
B
I
think
the
group
was
very
aggressive
with
our
renewable
energy
goal,
and
so
they
adapt
did
are
included
in
the
plan.
A
goal
of
100%
renewable
electricity
by
2030
for
the
entire
community
and
I
think
it's
a
very
ambitious
goal,
but
it
also
demonstrates
the
the
desire
to
see
immediate
action
locally
and
they
provided
some
flexibility
within
that
goal.
B
Was
the
ability
to
have
eight
of
the
largest
employers
in
Evanston
actually
submit
formal
letters
of
commitment
to
the
plan
and
to
the
mayor
indicating
very
specifically
what
types
of
actions
they
could
take
and
they
felt
were
within
their
ability
to
support
the
ambitious
goals
within
the
plan,
and
so
both
of
those
I
think
are
very
exciting
and
demonstrate
that
the
communities
are
ready
for
for
ambitious
action.
Great.
