Good
afternoon,
everyone-
and
thank
you
for
being
here
again.
My
name
is
sergeant
ken
carter
and,
as
commander
said,
we
are
gathered
here
today
to
announce
an
arrest
in
the
july
25th
shooting
of
a
13
year
old,
female
victim
whom
was
shot
in
the
neck
again
on
behalf
of
the
evanston
police
department,
I
would
like
to
extend
our
sincere
condolences
to
the
victim
of
this
tragic
incident,
as
well
as
to
her
family,
friends
and
loved
ones.

The
victim
suffered
a
serious
spinal
cord
injury,
and
today
she
remains
hospitalized
again.
The
victim
was
the
only
person
injured
in
the
shooting,
and
our
investigation
reveals
that
the
gunman
fired
at
least
seven
rounds
over
a
fence
striking
the
victim
once
before,
fleeing
the
scene
on
august
11th.

Had
not
members
of
our
community
stepped
up
and
give
us
the
the
assistance
that
we
needed.
It
is
doubtful
that
we'll
be
standing
here
today,
giving
a
press
conference,
and
so
it
is
critically
important
that
we
remember
the
partnership
between
the
police
and
in
our
community.
That
makes
difficult
situations
like
these
resolve.
