Description
Mayor James T. Butts, Inglewood Council Members, and State Senator Steven Bradford joined executives from EVgo Network, the nation’s largest and most reliable public fast-charging electric vehicle (EV) network, on Saturday, September 21, 2019, to reveal Inglewood’s first public fast-charging hub station for electric vehicles.
The “Communities Charging for Change” event celebrated the City’s role in EVgo’s Equal Access Charging Hubs (EACH) program, which promotes more sustainable communities through public education and expanded access to EV fast charging.
A
I'm
Jonathan
levy
I'm
vice
president
of
strategic
initiatives
at
Vigo,
the
nation's
largest
and
most
reliable
public
fast
charging
network
for
electric
vehicles,
but
today
is
an
excellent
event
that
we're
really
excited
about.
This
is
one
of
our
communities
charging
for
change.
Events.
Part
of
Evy
goes
equal
access
charging
Cubs.
We
have
just
opened
here
in
Inglewood
for
new,
fast
chargers
from
EB
go
that
are
open
to
the
public.
Anybody
can
use
them
and
right
now
more
than
80%
of
Californians
are
within
a
15-minute
Drive
event.
B
You
know,
structure
and
public
safety
and
we've
done
all
those
things
now:
we've
rinsed
out
the
LA
Philharmonic
just
moving
the
music
mr.
program
to
Englewood
and
that's
where
these
stations
are
there
in
the
parking
lot
next
to
the
building
that
we
sold,
but
we
chained
the
parking
lot
just
so
we
can
watch
the
charging
stations.
B
It's
my
first
time
ever
driving
an
all-electric
vehicle,
I
own,
a
Lincoln
MKZ
Hybrid,
and
to
help
hauntingly
similar
to
driving
it
when
it
was
an
electrical
mode.
It
was
smooth,
it
was
powerful,
it
had
acceleration
ability
and
it's
a
great
concept
to
think
that
you'd
never
put
gas
in
there.
On
the
other
hand,
with
with
my
Lincoln
when
I
run
out
of
juice,
I
just
pull
into
a
gas
station,
so
so
you
know,
there's
the
plus
and
the
minus.
No
that's
gonna
be
a
lot
less
expensive
to
operate.
B
My
Lincoln
as
it
is
I
Drive
it
for
a
month
without
putting
gas
in
it
and
the
tanks.
Only
14
gallons
of
customer
42
fill
up
that
one
to
think
to
never
put
gas
in
it
with
a
charging
station
right
here
next
to
City
Hall
that's
hard
to
beat
so
this
is
part
of
the
future.
You
know
sustainability
and
Englewood.
You
know
we're
known
for
now:
sports,
entertainment,
fiscal
austerity,
safety,
employment
opportunities,
but
we
want
to
also
be
known
as
a
sustainable
community.
