From YouTube: 2020 City of Inglewood Year In Review
Description
2020 was a tumultuous year for our community that was overshadowed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges our residents, business oweners and stakeholders faced, our community rallied throughout the year with helping hands, innovation, art, and a true Champion spirit. Our hearts our with those of us who lost loved ones and we are looking forward to a prosperous 2021 for everyone in the beautiful City of Inglewood. Happy New Year!

Provided
a
covet
relief
program
thousand
dollar
debit
cards,
a
little
over
1.2
million
dollars
was
set
aside
to
give
debit
cards
to
residents
that
were
impacted
and
lost
income
due
to
covet.
We
also
instituted
a
rental
relief
program
where
we
would
pay
up
to
three
months
back:
rent
for
residents
who
were
impacted
by
covid,
and
so
we've
been
there
right
beside
our
residents
every
step
of
the
way.

But
that
is
still
with
us,
I'm
so
grateful
that
we're
able
to
celebrate
martin
luther
king
here,
because
some
of
these
kids
and
I
pray
they
don't
we'll,
never
experience
what
some
of
us
went
through
we're
not
only
standing
on
martin
luther
king's
shoulder
we're
we're
standing
on
so
many
thousands
of
others
who
went
through
the
hell
we
went
through
to
get
to
the
place.
We
are
now.

This
is
my
final
term
of
office
because
I
opted
to
be
my
final
term
of
office,
but
after
being
in
the
office
for
over
17
years,
it
was
time
for
me
to
make
the
decision
that
I
not
submit
my
paperwork
again
to
be
re-elected.
Had
I
turned
in
my
paperwork.
According
to
the
city
clerk,
I
would
have
been
unopposed,
which
again
means
another
term
of
office
for
four
years.
