Goodman Food Products is a longstanding Inglewood Business that has not only been a great retailer of quality products, but have been outstanding community partners as well.

2020 was a tumultuous year for our community that was overshadowed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges our residents, business oweners and stakeholders faced, our community rallied throughout the year with helping hands, innovation, art, and a true Champion spirit. Our hearts our with those of us who lost loved ones and we are looking forward to a prosperous 2021 for everyone in the beautiful City of Inglewood. Happy New Year!

Councilman Alex Padilla hosted his annual Toy and Canned Food Drive for Inglewood families in need. The canned goods will be donated to local pantries to be distributed to families in need as well.

The Los Angeles Rams and Pizza Hut visited Kelso Elementary School in Inglewood to celebrate “Read Across America Day,” a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually for Dr. Seuss’ birthday. As part of the celebration, Rams Cheerleaders, team mascot Rampage, and members of the front office staff volunteered to read to students. Additionally, in partnership with First Book, the Rams provided a $3,000 grant to Kelso Elementary for students to take home a book of their own.

The school visits are part of the Rams’ monthly Staff Day of Service program. Each month, the team’s front office staff takes time out of the office to volunteer with local schools and non-profit organizations. Since returning home to Los Angeles, Rams staff members have provided more than 6,720 hours of community service and impacted 45 and 57 schools.

LA County Public Health is making major announcements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in LA County.

Inglewood Mayor James Butts shares one of his law enforcement origin stories at the USC Black Alumni Association & Safe Communities Institute event, "The Thin Line Between Black and Blue, a Black Law Enforcement Chiefs Panel Discussion", on becoming a police officer during a time when there were few to no officers of color working in the Inglewood Police Department.

Inglewood celebrated its 37th Annual King Day Celebration throughout the community with food, family, and fun. The theme for this year's celebration was "I choose Peace, Love, and Respect."
