Description
Laredo Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Committee Meeting, 03/02/2023
A
C
A
A
A
A
B
A
A
B
A
A
E
And
we
have
on
page
five,
we
have
the
regular
report
that
final
sentence
and
on
page
six,
as
you
know,
we
have
the
hotel
occupancy
tax
collections.
We
do
have.
We
are
still
above
our
projections.
E
B
E
And
we
want
to
continue.
We
have
some
additional
plans
for
through
our
strategic
planning
to
as
I
mentioned
last
meeting,
to
better
connect
with
our
hotel
leaders.
In
terms
of
where
can
we
better.
C
They
have
always
been
very
awkward
and
very
they
have.
We
have
great
communication
with
hotels
and
everything
and
I
know
that
Irene
has
reached
out
to
you,
know,
possibility
of
of
meeting
and
and
throwing
more
ideas.
What
else
can
we
do,
but
in
all
honesty
that
what
they
do
already?
It's,
it's
wonderful,
okay!
C
We
know
that
we
can
count
on
them.
We
know
that
anytime,
you
know
anything
is
needed
from
other.
You
know
from
them.
They're
always
there
to
help.
That's
fantastic.
C
A
F
C
And
saying
no
we're
awesome
right
now.
No,
we
continue
because
that's
gonna
reflect
for
the
future.
We
don't
know
what
the
future
is.
We
mean
we
don't
know
how
things
are
gonna
work
and
so
working
really
hard
and
getting
these
groups
to
come
and
visit
every
discomforts
and
everything
that
is
wonderful
because
we're
securing
you
know
that
that
placement-
and
it's
very
easy
to
forget
about
things
like
right
now.
We
have
sister
cities
coming.
We
continue
personally
at
our
hotels.
C
B
A
Know
you
have
meetings,
you
know
amongst
yourselves.
You
know
to
the
Sea,
you
know
what
what
perspectives
you
know
they
have
and
I
know
that
this
is
going
to
be
a
very,
very
busy.
You
know
summer.
You
know
it.
F
I
have
a
question
because
I
was
talking
to
a
local
restaurant
firm.
C
D
E
With
them
yeah
yeah,
this
is
the
second
time
that
they
bring
their
conference.
F
F
I
want
to
see
their
Post
Hotel
when
they'll
be
able
to
give
them
60
rooms.
B
E
Stays
within
the
fund
and
it
helps,
for
example,
during
covet
or
the
year
after
the
after
2020
we
did.
We
believe
this
is
I,
don't
know
if
you
all
remember,
but
we
we
wanted
to
give
an
extra
push
to
marketing,
because
we
believe
that
coming
out
of
the
pandemic,
we
needed
a
little
bit
of
extra
help,
yeah
and
so
monies
from
that
fund
helped
to
do
that.
A
Sometimes
you
know
you
see
money
and
you're
coming
in
this
month.
You
know
30,
maybe
it's
going
to
be
again.
You
know
what
happens
to
it.
You
know
there's
a
lot
of
connotation.
You
know
by
people,
you
know
that
have
other
strong
other
projects,
but
they
cannot
do
too
many
with
hotel.
Motel
I
mean
it's.
E
A
restrictive
fund,
we
did
have
a
meeting
in
bringing
our
visit
to
Austin.
We
didn't
have
the
opportunity
to
visit
with
the
Texas
Hotel
and
Lodging
Association
with
Justin
Draco
who's.
The
general
counsel,
and
there
were
different
organizations-
are
interested
in
using
Hotel
Multiplex
for
their
either
projects
or
their
events,
and
so
he
was
able
to
explain
which
ones
apply,
which
ones
don't
apply
and
how
to
better
use
it,
and
also
that
there's
opportunities
to
get
funding
from
the
state.
B
E
A
I
remember
some
years
ago,
when
I
was
still
in
Commissioners,
we
had,
they
had
a
meeting.
You
know
the
people
that
know
about
the
funds
hotel
and
they
came,
and
they
gave
us
a
conference.
You
know
to
let
people
know
and
anybody
that
would
be
interested
in
there's
a
lot
of
people
that
think
that
you
could
use
it
for
anything
and
it,
and
you
can't
I
mean
you
just
can't
get
put
in
a
general
fund
and
use
it
for
whatever,
so
that.
E
E
I
I
spoke
to
them
and
Justin
said
as
soon
as
the
session
in
Austin
ends.
He'll
come
and
give.
A
C
A
E
So,
but
and
how
to
access
additional
funding
so
yeah,
he
gave
some
good
ideas.
It
started
as
a
half
an
hour
conversation
and
ended
up
being
almost
an
hour.
A
That's
very
good.
Yes,
the
fact.
E
The
time-
and
there
were
a
lot
of
questions
council
members
were
there
community
members
were
there,
staff
was
there
but
yeah
they.
They
mentioned
that
as
soon
as
the
legislative
session
finishes
in
Austin
they'll
be
able
to
schedule
something
here
for
the
summer
good.
It's.
E
E
No,
we
we
talked
about
it.
The
last
meeting.
E
Already
here
he
started
February
21st.
D
E
A
E
A
A
E
Yes,
as
I
mentioned
last
meeting,
and
and
for
the
benefit
of
our
new
members,
we
haven't
used
the
teaching
plan
that
we
worked
last
year,
and
so
everything
that
we
do
is
guidance,
such
as
strategic
plan
and
every
agenda.
We
include
the
key
objectives
of
that
that
we
follow
and
so
you'll
see
that
everything
that
that
we
do
in
our
overview
it's
linked
to
one
of
those
objectives,
which
is
increased,
visitor
demand,
strengthen
our
visitor
experience,
destination
leadership
and
destination
development.
E
B
E
So
we
would
want
to
review
it.
We
want
to
see
how
it
worked.
We
want
to
see
if
we
need
to
change
anything
and
we
want
the
the
feedback
from
our
advisory
committee
for
the
next
version
of
it,
which
is
the
23
24.,
so
that'll
be
coming
up
in
in
the
fall,
but
I
wanted
to
mention
that
this
is
not
a
one-time.
This
is
a
type
deal.
It's
gonna.
B
E
E
We
have
our
overview
again.
The
way
that
we
have
set
up
the
agenda
is
now.
We
have
an
overview
of
everything
that
we've
done
throughout
the
month
and
it's
linked
to
our
key
objectives.
As
you
can
see,
and
every
month
usually
this
this
month
we
don't
have
a
key
feature,
but
usually
we
have
a
report
on
a
specific
event
or
a
specific
project
that
we
that
we
have
been
working
on.
So
we
have
our
Casa
Laredo
office
has
been
on
our
increased
visitor
demand.
E
Objective
Casa,
Let,
It
Go
office
has
been
visiting
with
different
attractions
in
different
hotels
in
the
Monterrey
and
the
suburban
area
surrounding
Monterey,
with
the
objective
people
they're
visiting
there
they're
already
in
the
mindset
of
being
a
tourist
that
they
can
see
that
they
can
also
come
to
Laredo.
They
can
also
visit
this
area
and
so
they've
been
dropping
off
different
elements.
C
C
F
B
C
You
know
they're
the
next
person,
maybe
ask
them
if
they
think
that
it
can
be
and
I
know
that
probably
already
has
amazing,
but
so
maybe
adding
something
else
and.
E
F
C
E
E
In
the
past
we're
some
years
we
bring
back
some
years,
we
go
yeah
and
we
haven't
had
them
here
since
before
the
pandemic,
and
so
everybody-
yes,
so
this
this
time
around
they're
coming
they're
coming
at
the
end
of
March
the
last
week
in
March,
24th.
E
E
B
E
E
C
E
Influencers
have
been
coming
for
the
last
two
three
weekends,
so
influencers
have
been
this
month
and
well
previous
month
and
in
March.
So
we
have
a
good
combination
and
this
time
around
we've
had
influencers
from
the
US
from
Mexico,
and
this
media
is
from
from
Mexico
too.
So
we're
combining
work,
as
you
know,
we're
increasing
our
efforts
in
the
US,
and
so
we
had
Becky.
What's
her
name
is.
F
C
A
A
F
B
E
So
if
you
hear
of
any
any
we're
working
with
the
agency
to
contact
these
influencers,
if
you
hear
of
any
other,
let
us
know
and
we
can
start
researching
them.
You.
A
Know
I
mean
I
feel
like
this
in
this
part
of
the
report,
where
you
give
us
the
overview
and
the
upcoming
activities.
You
know,
there's
a
lot
of
stuff
in
here.
I
would
like
to
see.
Maybe
you
know
that
you
would
maybe
pick
a
couple
of
things.
You
know
that
might
be
more
important
than
the
others.
You
know
to
be
able
to
make
work
from
the
previous
month
and
for
the
next
month
and
I.
Think
that
that
would
you
know,
give
us
a
broad
view
of
what
what's
coming.
Yes
and
I.
A
A
E
Yeah
so
one
other
thing,
and
that,
and
with
that
in
mind,
I'll
jump
from
the
castle
Lego
to
the
influencer
side,
I
think
that's
a
really
key
activity
that
happened
this
month
marketing
hosted
several
influencers
from
Mexico
from
the
U.S
that
we're
here,
and
so
we
have
two
very
different
perspectives
of
what
they
want
to
see.
E
Influencers
are
basically
now
word
of
mouth
has
been
monetized.
E
And
so
people
follow
certain
celebrities
or
people
on
social
media
and
they
become
influencers
right.
So.
E
F
Whether
they're
influencing
you
on
beauty,
products
on
on
electronics
on
travel
and
every
influencer,
there's
different
tiers
that
you
get
depending
on
the
number
of
followers
that
you
have,
and
so
you
start
off
with
the
micro
influence
at
about
1500
people
all
the
way
to
your
top
tier.
You
know
Kim
Kardashian
influencers
and
when
are
you
on
Instagram?
Yes,.
A
B
E
We
contract
them
and
our
the
agency
what
they
do
is
they
recommended
best
influencers
to
the
type
of
product
that
we
want
to
put
out
there
and.
F
Every
influencer
can
tell
you
who
Their
audience
is
who
their
background
is
when
the
percentage
male
to
female
the
age
wage
that
they're
targeting
what
exactly
they
focus
on,
whether
it's
Fashion
Beauty
travel,
So.
A
E
We
contract
with
them
and
we
set
up
schedules
and
things
that
we
want
for
them
to
see,
and
so
staff
give
them
some
of
them
work
like
to
work
by
themselves.
So
we
give
them
a
list
of
ways
what
we
would
like
for
them
to
cover.
E
For
example,
in
this
case
wbca,
we
wanted
them
to
experience
Washington's
birthday
celebration,
so
they
went
to
do
some
of
them
were
to
the
air
show.
Some
of
them
went
to
the
parade.
Some
of
them
went
to
different
activities
and
restaurants.
We
give
them
a
list
of
restaurants.
Some
of
them
choose
their
restaurants.
Some
of
them
want
us
to
kind
of
walk
with
them
through
the
process,
and
so
we
schedule
them.
We
bring
them
here.
E
Instagram
yeah,
usually
some
of
them,
have
highlights
of
their
visit.
You
can
also
go
to
our
Instagram.
So
now,
if
you
follow
Vincent
Laredo
on
Instagram
you'll
see
that
finder
has
been
putting
all
of
she's,
been
sharing
all
the
different
content
that
they're
doing
she
shares
them.
So
we
have-
and
we
also
have
El
Gordo,
which
is
a
very
popular
Professor
from
Mexico.
That's
focused
on
everything
that
has
bad
food.
E
His
wife
is
also
an
influencer,
so
they
come
together,
so
we
had
them
and
and
marketing
has
been
really
good
about
putting
them
on
R.
So
if
you
don't
follow
any
specific
ones,
you
can
go.
C
E
C
E
It
online
on
a
virtual-
maybe
our
app
can
serve
for
that,
so
we
need
everyone's
talking
to.
F
Modify
about
this
earlier
last
week
and
the
way
I
made
sense,
we
have
a
plethora.
C
B
F
B
B
B
E
B
F
B
A
E
A
A
E
A
D
E
B
B
C
A
A
A
And
they're
thinking,
if
they're
they're
affordable,
it's
not
like
they're
charging,
four
dollars.
C
E
Just
like
so
we
have
the
opportunity
on
other
activities
that
we
did.
We
had
the
opportunity
to
tour
a
group
of
potential
residents
like
a
medical
residents
from
LMC,
and
it
came
to
mind
because
they
were
asking
where
are
the
best
tacos
are,
and
some
of
the
residents
that
already
live
here
were
also
on
the
tour
kind
of
guiding
them,
and
some
of
them
mentioned,
of
course,
Stripes.
B
B
B
B
F
Have
such
a
strong
you.
B
E
C
E
E
Remember
Perez
was
working
on
that
right,
yeah.
E
We
did
a
lot
of
on
our
strengths
and
visitor
experience.
We
have
a
lot
of
services,
we
had
several
groups
coming
so,
as
you
know,
we
Service
Groups
that
come
to
the
city,
not
necessarily
if,
if
we're
involved
or
not
and
bring
them,
but
we
service
them
like
U.S,
customs
and
immigration.
They
have
international
visitor
leadership
program
here
in
Laredo,
so
we
service
them
with
facts
and
information
and
try
to
make
their
experience
here
in
the
community
the
best
possible
same
with
HEB.
E
E
E
Person
yeah,
so
we
had
around
300
room
lights
too,
for
the
birding
Festival
yeah
our
destination
leadership.
As
you
know,
Hawaiian
Islands
have
been
part
of
different
organizations,
and
so
this
month,
I
have
the
opportunity
to
travel
to
Asana,
Hall
and
I
were
in
Austin
for
the
legislative
trip
that
the
whole
city
does,
and
so
we
met
with,
as
I
mentioned,
with
th
Lake
hotel,
Lodging
Association.
E
We
coordinated
that
meeting
for
everybody
the
next
week.
I
was
back
in
Austin
for
the
Texas
trail,
Alliance
legislative
meetings
and
unity
dinner,
and
so
that
is
part
of
currently
I'm,
a
part
of
the
executive
committee
and
the
board,
and
so
that
has
given
us
the
opportunity
to
voice
some
of
the
concerns
and
the
needs
for
the
border
and
work
together
with
the
rest
of
the
state,
yes
to
the
betterment
of
the
industry
for
the
whole
state.
E
But
we
we
are
working
as
I
mentioned
in
the
last
meeting
on
a
border.
Council
were
cities
around
the
across
the
border,
can
work
together
and
help
each
other
and
of
course,
I
was
also
part
of
as
a
board
member
of
the
Chamber
of
Commerce.
So
he
continues
to
to
participate
on
that.
Oh.
D
Boy
they
have
do,
they
have
a
chamber
manager
in
line
already
or
did
that
they
have
an
advertisement.
D
D
D
A
B
A
D
B
F
B
E
Have
a
good
day,
another
meeting
that
we
had
in
Austin
that
it
was
really
exciting,
is
I
had
the
opportunity,
together
with
medium
Casio
or
economic
development
director
and
thanks
to
an
event
sponsored
by
AP
and
The
Economic
Development
Corporation,
to
meet
with
Adriana
Cruz.
She
is
executive
director
for
the
office
of
the
governor
for
Economic,
Development
and
Tourism,
and
so
Mia
and
I
had
a
great
conversation
with
her
she's
really
excited
about
us
participating
in
ipw,
she's,
a
Loretta,
and
so
she
understands
and
she's
very,
very
proud
of
our
community.
B
E
A
A
E
Yes,
I
got
batteries
and
who
I
did
an
amazing
job
with
coordinating
that.
But
at
least
this
is
our
our
expert
in
in
anything
decorating
event
putting
together
and
so
together
they
did
an
amazing
job.
Helping
with
the
dinner
and
I
know
what
kind
of
Heritage
Foundation
just
did
an
awesome.
Oh.
A
E
Thank
you
for
that.
Thank
you.
On
page
15
we
have
our
analytics
for
the
website.
16
we
have
the
key
metrics
and
16
and
17.
I.
Don't
know
if
there's
any
questions
regarding
those
15
is
our
website
and
16
and
17
are
our
social
media
metrics.
E
And,
as
you
mentioned,
Madam
chair,
we
also
have
our
upcoming
activity.
We
continue
to
assist
border
Olympics
with
the
different
tournaments,
we're
hosting
in
March
the
Texas
Realtors
360
conference.
A
D
E
We
have
staff
traveling
to
participate
in
Reverse,
Mexico
sales
Mission.
This
is
another
activity
with
the
office
of
the
governor.
They
are
bringing
media
and
travel
agents
from
Mexico.
E
So
we
have
participated
in
this
for
several
years.
They
haven't
done
it
in
the
last
three
four
years.
Did
you
have
a
pandemic
but
they're
back
and
so
we're
participating
again?
Sports
events
International
produce
Association
we're
traveling
this
weekend
to
Washington
for
the
legislative
trip,
as
we
do
every
year,
and
so
Juan
and
I
will
be
there
all
of
next
week.
E
E
Yes,
that's
interesting,
no
I'm,
sorry,
councilmember,
Campos
Rodriguez
did
not
travel
for
Austin
yeah.
She
did
not
right
yeah,
so
we
do
have
another
thing
that
we're
doing
with
the
office
of
the
governor
is
a
media
blitz
in
Canada.
So
this
is
the
first
time
that
we
tap
it
to
that
market.
We
believe
that
this
is
the
perfect
way
of
testing
the
market
going
with
the
office
of
the
governor
going
to
a
media
blitz.
The
idea
is,
we
have
all
those
winter
Texans
coming
down
to
the
valley
we
need
to.
We.
E
We
need
to
tap
into
that
market
and
when
they're
coming
down
or
leaving
right,
because
we
don't,
we
know,
we
don't
have
the
infrastructure,
but
they
do
travel
while
they're
in
the
valley.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
get
into
their
travel
plans
before
they
leave
home.
So
that's.
This
is
our
first
attempt
into
the
Canadian
Market.
E
A
B
B
F
Are
the
the
there's
going
to
be
an
event,
I
think
that's
being
organized
locally?
Yes,.
A
E
E
A
E
A
B
E
Something
that
we've
been
doing
and
it's
more
and
more
groups
and
associations,
are
having
women
specific
conferences.
Selena
was
at
the
TSA
Women's
Conference,
there's
a
sport,
CTA
Women's
Conference.
So
more.
A
Everybody's
invited
to
the
bridge
ceremony
of
the
women
come
in
and
anyway,
I
think
that
you
know
the
only
thing
that
I
don't
agree
with
that.
After
they're
gonna
have
a
reception,
it.
A
Only
three
were
invited
to
this
other
event
and
I
don't
know
what
it
entails,
but
my
sister
was
in
there
I
said
well,
plus
one
she
was
gonna
ask
you
know
why
I
ordered
anything.
This
I
mean
really
I
mean
it's
women
which
I
should
have
you
know
open
doors
and
do
everything
here
to
try
to
get
more
weapon.
E
F
F
So
you
know
with
events
like
that,
I
could
talk
to
Valerie
into
Maryland
and
we
can
have
the
potion
of
our
calendar.
A
D
D
E
That's
that's
her
report
for
this
month,
as
I
mentioned
we'll
be
in
Washington.
We
have
several
trips
coming
up,
we're
we're
going
to
be
traveling
right,
at
least
until
April.
Yes,
yes,.
E
E
I
was
like
no
because
HR
is.
E
Yes,
yes,
right
sales
and
media
coordinator.
Yes,
yes,
so.
B
E
Have
to
go
to
the
City
of
Laredo
and
there's
a
HR
job
postings.
They
click
there
and
they
can
see
all
the
positions
of
every
Department
in
the
city
and
that's
the
proper
process
to
apply
another.
D
Thing
we
parked
over
there
at
the
yeah,
we're
at
the
omelette.
There's
this
little
corner
right
here.
It's
been
dirty
for
years.
It's
a
a
a
a
lot.
