Description
Laredo Urban Agriculture Meeting 061820
A
Yes,
we
received
a
small
grant
from
AT&T
and
the
grant
is
they
want
us
to
feed
first
responders
and
the
elderly,
and
so
I'm,
coordinating
kind
of
both
having
meals
through
certain
districts,
where
we
are
reaching
out
to
some
of
the
mom-and-pop
restaurant
restaurants
that
have
been
particularly
hard-hit
and
have
them
prepare
a
number
of
meals
for
the
firefighters.
It's
a
medical
personnel,
but
the
the
other
thing.
A
The
AT&T
asked
us
to
work
in
conjunction
with
an
organization
called
fishers
of
men
to
feed
the
elderly,
and
so
as
they
they
are
a
kind
of
a
private
group
that
it
sells
meat
and
so
the
it
would
donate
the
meat.
And
we
thought
it
would
be
good
for
us
to
try
and
include
produce
eggs
and
milk
as
well
to
the
elderly.
We're
targeting
this
the
downtown
area,
there's
a
big
concentration
of
elderly
and
then
the
south
side
as
well,
and
it's
both
elderly
and
and
poverty.
A
A
I
had
heard
that
Tami,
you
and
I
said,
of
course,
do
the
produce
and
I
I
wasn't
sure
if
you
all
donate
or
if
you
all
cell
and
but
sell
more
like
a
bulb
or
if
you're,
more
expensive,
and
that
was
the
conversation
I
was
having
with
Marcella
today
and
she
she
suggested
I
come
and
tell
you
all
what
we're
doing
and
if
we
could
form
some
sort
of
partnership
to
kind
of
add
with
the
elderly
that
it's
very
difficult.
They
have
a
lot
of
special
restrictions
in
their
diets.
A
A
So
I
guess
then
I
mean
that's
really
all
off
from
my
end
of
it
will
be
donating
a
total
of
about
$4,000
for
the
different
meals
and
then
for
the
the
grocery
group
part
it's
about
1,500
and
so
give
or
take
a
couple
of
hundred.
If
we
can
get
some
a
few
more
donations
to
so
I
guess
you
will
all
discuss
it
and
then
Marcella
you
can.
Let
me
know.
C
C
A
F
I,
don't
know
if
we're
allowed
to
to
kind
of
discuss
this,
because
it's
in
in
public
comments,
but
if
I
can
do
I'm
using
executive
director
for
Main
Street,
but
we
coordinate
the
farmers
market
and
I
know
that
I
can
get
you
in
touch
with
some
of
our
farmers
that
do
provide
eggs
and
also
farmer
right
now
that
we
know
has
some
produce
and
so
I'm
not
sure
how
the
Canseco
garden
is
looking
right
now,
but
that
could
be
another
option
for
you.
So
I
can
reach
out
to
you.
A
E
I'll
just
I'll
just
add
when
I
saw
that
story
you
asked
me
this
say
something
but
I
think
the
idea
is
great.
I
would
just
worry
about
the
abundance
of
crop
or
lack
of
just
because
we're
coming
out
of
the
growing
season
going
into
the
hot
season,
we're
going
to
be
plan
seeing
calpis,
not
a
lot
of
crop,
there's
not
a
lot
that
grows
in
the
temperature,
so
we
may
not
have
something
that
would
stretch
that
far
until
the
fall
crop
like
October
November,
something
that
would
be
able
to
be.
You
know
in
several
directions.
E
So
it's
just
I,
don't
know
how
reliable
it
would
be.
So
the
seller,
the
farmers
you
I,
forget
the
name
of
the
ranch
where
they
would
probably
have
a
better
idea
of
what
kind
of
numbers
you
could
you
could
count
on
from
them?
It's
just
which
was
kind
of
a
roll
of
the
dice,
not
really
easy
to
determine.
How
much
is
it's
still
gonna
come
out
in
the
next
couple
of
weeks.
E
G
B
A
Wonderful,
thank
you.
Thank
you.
I
mean
we're
trying
to
help
you
up,
but
I
appreciate.
You
know
the
return
of
the
favor
as
well,
so
so,
okay,
Bobby,
you
know
how
to
get
ahold
of
me
and
thanks
for
the
me
Leo,
not
as
fabulous
as
always,
and
thank
you
to
the
the
whole
group.
I
I
am
a
wannabe
farmer
and
gardener
and
something
I
hope
to
start
now.
A
C
I
mean
just
just
to
conclude:
I
think
that
I
mean
we'll
be
in
touch
in
terms
of
like
I
know.
We
are
in
the
same
boat,
which
I'm
in
your
garden,
like
we
don't
know,
what's
gonna
happen
into
which,
because
the
fans
are
just
sitting
down,
and
actually
we
are,
we
just
passed
our
highest
harvest,
but
I
mean
whatever
we
have
available.
I
think
we
would
be
happy
to
continue,
and
the
other
thing
is
like
also
like
reaching
out
to
like
other
people
here
on
the
board.
C
So
I
think
that
was
great
and
if
you
want
you
to
learn
about
gardening,
of
course,
I
mean
we're.
Also
accepting
volunteers
right
now,
I
can
take
on
hillside,
so
I
mean,
if
you
send
me
an
email.
I
will
be
happy
to
share
with
you
some
information
about
how
to
kill
a
number
I
mean
about
how
to
do
it
yourself,
and
that
would
be
also
very
mountable.
Okay,
that's.
G
C
H
C
H
C
C
C
G
I
did
this
the
original
monies
that
were
kind
of
advocated
for
see
us.
So
that's
why
you'll
see
at
the
top,
its
first
one
thousand
and
under
and
on
the
side,
is
a
budget
that
we
came
up
with,
which
I
believe
we're
gonna
have
to
formally
adopt
a
budget,
but
we'll
probably
have
to
put
there
on
on
an
agenda
as
the
mentioned
I
am,
but
we
spread
it
with
hundred
thousand.
That
was
allocated
to
the
group
of
which
seventy
five
thousand
for
that
was
for
the
shade
tree
program
on
the
right
column.
G
You
see
actually
the
right
column
input
actually
has
been
spent,
we're
taking
out
of
that
money.
So
you
can
see
the
subject
thousand
due
to
the
shade
project.
Put
that
on
the
right
column,
under
bank
charges,
you'll
see,
180
450
was
budgeted
and
on
the
right
it
was
370
and
794.
The
reason
it's
377
94
is
okay.
When
I
had
originally
opened
the
account
back
in
in
September,
we
were
being
charged
recall.
G
We
were
being
charged
monthly
fees,
so
I,
initially
deposited
$100,
I
deposited
$100
and
then
in
in
March
are
in
April
that
had
dwindled
to
$7,
so
I
had
to
deposit
an
additional
hundred
dollars
because
we
were
gonna
get
the
other
feet
hit
that
month
and
there
wasn't
enough
on.
The
accounts,
like
actually
ended
up,
depositing
two
hundred
dollars
in
total.
C
G
We
are
I'm,
gonna
have
interject,
but
I.
Think
for
the
next
meeting
we
are
gonna
have
to
put
on
the
agenda
at
least
an
approval
of
a
budget.
I,
don't
know
if
that's
I
believe
it's
something
we
need
to
put
on
the
agenda,
I'm,
not
sure,
but
so
we
can
go
over
these
items
to
see
if,
if
these
kind
of
you
know
kind
of
jive
or
they
look
kind
of
wonky
or
if
anybody
else
has
any
other
opinions
as
to
what
we're
trying
to
budget
I
mean,
of
course,
we're
kind
of
going
in
blind
here.
G
C
So
I'm
sorry
here
we
have
the
expense
report
from
last
week
and
then
we
have
some
items
in
terms
of
income
and
I
know.
Derek
has
some
money,
which
is
like
$30,
not
a
big
amount
of
money
that
they
have
collected
from
people
just
giving
them
when
they
were
giving
out
the
budget.
That
was
they
give
the
damn
money.
So
he
has
asked
me
constantly
what
do
I
do
with
this
money
and
I
guess
the
procedure
is:
give
it
to
Bobby.
That's
my
answer
to
this
question.
I,
don't
know
if
we
need
to
be
here.
B
G
F
So
the
way
that
we've
doing
cuz
a
lot
of
the
way,
what
he's
gonna
face
right
is
a
lot
of
cash
transactions
that
go
back
and
forth.
So
I'm,
not
sure
if
they
gave
it
to
him
as
a
donation
or
if
they
were
actually
selling
the
produce.
But
the
way
that
we
do
it
is
we
have
a
form
and
that
I
can
share
with
you
I'll
send
it
to
you
through
email.
We
write
it
on
hand
there
at
the
farmers
market.
F
We
say
we
received
five
dollars
for
I,
don't
know
squash,
you
know
and
we
kind
of
write
everything
down
and
then
at
the
end,
it'll
give
a
total
and
then
our
deposit
slip
has
to
match
that
sheet.
So
he
would
submit
to
you
that
she
that
he
filled
out
that
day
that
he
was
receiving
money
and
then
and
then
it'll
with
the
money
along
with
the
money.
Those
totals
would
have
to
equal
each
other.
F
E
C
And
then
also
okay,
so
there
is
so
in
terms
of
future
expenses.
There
are
a
couple
of
items
that
I
think
that
we
need
to
discuss,
because
we
need
to
know
how
much
money
we
can
and
before
the
board's
approval.
So
that's
one
item
and
then
the
next
item
is
the
volunteers
may
want
to
request
some
money
for
seeds
or
materials
for
plants
whatever
they
need.
So
how
is
that
process
going
to
happen?
C
And
if
we,
as
a
board
like
right
now,
we
as
award
control
that
process,
because
we
don't
have
a
distributive
director
whenever
we
have
an
executive
director,
I
think
that
person
is
going
to
be
eating
first
appointed
person,
but
right
now
we
have
to
do
it
ourselves.
That's
my
understanding.
So
first
item
is
in
terms
of
so
what
is
the
the
amount
or
the
dollar
amount
that
we
need
board
approval
for
and
that's
up
for
discussion,
I.
F
But
as
long
as
the
treasure
is
aware-
and
you
know-
is
monitoring
the
budget
and
it's
a
reasonable
expense,
then
the
treasure
can
make
that
decision
and
approve
that
for
the
executive
director,
but
for
us
it's
$500
and
above
anything
under
$500
e.
It's
at
the
executive
directors
discretion.
If
we
use
that.
C
I
The
city
of
Laredo
and
state
grants
have
listings
of
what
you
can
and
cannot
buy.
Most
of
us
take
for
granted
or
be
blocked
by
you
know,
you
can't
buy
firearms,
you
can't
buy
alcohol.
You
can't
buy
automobiles,
you
know
without
some
sort
of
approval,
so
I
think.
If
we
just
have
something
basic
on
paper,
it
could
at
least
provide
a
general
direction.
H
E
C
Okay,
so
I
was
saying
that
I
mean
I,
think
that
we
just
need
some
kind
of
form
that
will
actually
give
us
a
little
bit
of
planning.
You
know
what
I
mean
so,
for
example,
I
was
talking
with
Mellie
these
past
Sunday
at
Hillside,
and
she
was
saying
okay,
we
need
we
need
to
know
if
we
have
a
nursery
and
if
we
have
a
nursery,
then
we
come
buy
some
seeds
and
then
we
can
buy
some.
F
Think
that
if
we
can
come
up
with
a
request
procedure,
what's
gonna
have
what's
gonna
need
to
happen,
though,
is
that
like
I
say
the
board
only
meets
once
a
month,
and
sometimes
these
need
to
happen
before
the
time
that
we're
meeting
and
so
as
to
not
slow
down?
You
know
anything
that
happens
at
the
garden,
I
think
giving
our
our
treasure.
F
You
know
kind
of
the
authority
to
make
those
decisions
based
on
you
know,
obviously
reasonable
expenditures
that
need
to
be
made
anything
that
may
be
outside
of
the
scope
of
what
is
immediate
at
the
garden
and
would
need
to
come
for
board
approval
or
anything
over.
You
know
the
five
hundred
dollars
or
something
like
that,
but
allowing
our
treasurer
to
for
the
volunteers
to
go
directly
to
our
treasurer
request
that
and
him
being
able
to
have
that
authority
to
approve
you
know
those
those
smaller
more
immediate
expenses
is:
what's
gonna
help
the
garden.
F
C
Okay,
I'm
going
to
look
for
a
request
form
that
we
have
used
here.
Tell
me
you
in
the
past,
but
I'm
not
promising.
So
if
you
have
anything,
if
someone
has
anything
that
can
share
with
us,
it
would
actually
it
speed
up
the
process
of
having
this
done
and
we
can
actually
probably
have
something
for
the
weekend,
because
I
think
that
when
the
volunteers
beat
you
can
actually
make
a
plan
or
something
like
that.
C
G
C
C
E
E
C
C
Opposition
I'm
going
to
table
this
item
because
I
think
that
we
need
to
hire
the
executive
director
and
then,
with
the
help
of
the
executive
director,
we
make
decisions
about
this
second
person
I
mean
my
vision.
Is
this
person
will
be
a
volunteer
coordinator
and
staff
at
the
same
time,
but
we
will
have
to
also
make
a
distinction
in
terms
like
rows
for
this
person
and
also
money
that
we
need.
C
C
C
D
D
C
You
have
your
lease
agreement
for
handy
all
of
you,
I
mean
I,
have
done
it
several
times,
so
the
terms
of
the
lease
is
I
believe
should
be
at
least
for
five
years
and
then
I
added
one
one
dollar
big
screen
for
each
twelve
dollars
base
rent
for
each
year.
So
that
was
greed
one
dollar
a
month,
then
we
don't
have
an
official
address.
So
I
had
a
question
about
that.
Should
I
just
put
my
address
or
how
do
we
proceed
about
this
and
then.
C
C
C
B
C
And
then
on
page
11
there
is
only
a
thief
and
there
is
no
experience
for
implied
warranty
of
the
condition
or
sustainability
of
the
building.
A
little
turn
about
that,
because,
right
now
the
building
is
not
in
good
condition
to
actually
be
occupied.
So
I
am
worried
that
five
years
can
pass
and
there's
no
common
approach.
C
C
C
C
J
Need
to
coordinate
them
with
engineering
engineering.
Is
that
a
couple
of
companies
they're
working
on,
so
let
me
get.
Let
me
get
an
update
with
them
Wow.
What
the
process
is
last
time.
I
spoke
with
them
was
maybe
about
a
month
ago,
and
they
were
a
couple
muscle
Bay
to
three
months
away
to
ibi
from
actually
you
know
benefits
project.
So
let
me
get
a
specific
timetable
and
I
will
email.
The
group
once
I
get
once
I
get
a
touch
over
from
engineer.
Okay,.
C
C
I'm
not
sure
we
can
approve
the
disagreement
with
the
athlete
boss.
I
think
we
need
a
timeline
from
the
city
that
actually
will
let
us
know
when
the
carriage
house
will
be
ready.
I'm
thinking
I
mean
that's
the
only
way,
I
think
that
these
works,
but,
of
course,
I
mean
I'm,
not
an
expert
on
anything.
J
I
guess
what
to
get
this
type
to
Thomas,
then
we
can.
We
can
have
a
better
idea
so
that
we
can
put
a
date
on
it.
That's
not
your
concern.
Yes,.
D
C
C
C
F
Would
suggest
that
our
group,
maybe
the
secretary,
put
something
together
cuz
if
we
asked
the
city
to
put
it
together,
it's
gonna
take
another
while
for
us
to
receive
something
back.
So
if
I
our
secretary,
can
you
know,
put
up
a
draft
or
something
and
send
it
to
all
of
us
that
we
could
present
with
this
I
think
that
would
be
the
best
and
quickest
way.
D
D
D
B
C
Okay,
so
I
think
I
mean
we're,
gonna
find
the
leaves,
and
then
we
can
probably
look
for
an
addendum
and
then
I
contact
you
Guillermo
and
see.
If
he
can
write
something
about
these
I
mean
we
send
the
the
lease
agreement,
please
John
so
I
out
sign
and
then
we
can
proceed
with
the
lease
agreement,
because
I
mean
we
going
on
with
forever
and
then.
C
C
C
J
I
looked
our
guys,
my
guys,
where
there
is
a
refrigerator
that
has
not
been
assembled.
There's
there's
an
older
refrigerator
that
we
found
what
about
warehouses
there
right
now,
I'm
gonna
see
if
I
get
an
email
right
now,
my
secretary,
they
found,
we
have
a
looks
like
a
walk-in
refrigerator
that
not
been
assembled.
It's
still
in
the
crate.
Okay
and
that's
that's
ready
to
be
simple.
It
looks
insulated
and
everything
that
we
have
it
in
one
of
our
warehouses
still
in
a
pattern.
Actually,
that's
that's
that
time,
Scoob
not
took
one
that
we're
looking
for.
C
J
Right
so
I
get.
This
was
ordered
before
I
got
here,
so
we
did
some
digging
I'm
gonna,
see
if
I
can
get
in
here
in
the
email
right
now
and
not
for
everyone,
and
when
we
receive
we
put
it
out
there
go
and
install
it
and
get
our
nice
to
go
clean
start.
So
we
can
get
it
going.
I
don't
picture
that!
That's
it
so
good!
I'm
sure
it
is
it's
it's
it's
in
the
pallet
and
we
found
it.
It's
a
one
of
our
warehouses
in
the
North
warehouse
for
us,
so
so
yeah!
J
C
And
then
there's
a
grant
proposal
that
is
pending.
I
am
meeting
with
Guillermo
and
Priscilla
on
writing
a
grant
from
for
USDA
it's
an
extension
brand
for
the
garden
I
mean
I've,
been
working
at
Hillside
with
the
other
volunteers
and
there's
a
big
beach
for
shed
and
also
for
a
composting
tent
for
both
garden.
So
that
would
go
on
the
proposal.
