From YouTube: City of Madison Parks Board Meeting - March 6, 2023
Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Foreign
okay,
I'll
call
the
meeting
to
order.
Welcome
everyone.
Thank
you
for
being
here
for
our
Parks
board
meeting.
Do
we
have
any
discussion
about
the
minutes
from
our
last
meeting
and
if
there
is
no
discussion,
can
I
get
a
motion
to
approve
the
minutes?
I'll.
C
D
So,
with
the
three
Park
projects
that
we
have
going
on
right
now,
Oak
Hill
slated
to
be
completed.
The
soonest
there
still
tracking
for
Memorial
Day
of
this
year.
So
as
you'll
see
in
front
of
you
board,
you've
got
an
updated
project
budget
there,
just
to
kind
of
take
a
look
at
where
those
contributions
are
coming
from
where
those
expenses
are
going
to
you.
Some
of
that
reflected
in
the
claims.
I
know.
D
You
asked
some
questions
on
like
bike
racks
and
different
things,
so
we're
using
a
bunch
of
different
vendors
and
such
throughout
for
this,
but
that's
where
you're
going
to
see
some
of
the
Symmetry
too,
when
it,
when
it
playground
equipment
of
fencing,
different
things
that
we're
wanting
to
make
basically
complement
each
other
so
that
you
can
tell
you're
within
a
Madison
Park
system.
So,
like
I,
said
there
with
the
Oak
Hill
expenses,
some
of
those
things
I
know
with
like
say:
All-Star
they're,
the
ones
that
did
the
the
paving
work
up
there.
D
So
we
partnered
with
them
as
they
were
doing
all
the
streets
and
sidewalks
they're,
the
ones
that
did
the
prime
the
workforce
on
concrete.
For
the
Park
but
I
haven't
received
the
chunk
of
it.
I've
seen
the
total
chunk
for
the
whole
project
for
all
of
Oak
Hill.
But
I
don't
know
what
of
that
is
our
Park
project.
So
as
soon
as
we
see
those
specific
budget
items,
I'll
be
able
to
add
that,
but
you've
seen
our
design
plans
for
that
are
really
kind
of
set
in
stone.
D
At
this
point,
and
that's
where
the
next
one
with
Gaines
Park
I
did
include,
we
just
received
new
project
updates
renderings
on
that
so
Tony,
steinhardt
and
I,
just
kind
of
reshaped.
A
few
of
these
things
were
able
to
shave
about
twenty
thousand
dollars
because
of
the
poor
in
place
there
and
how
expensive
that
is
per
square
foot
with
our
kind
of
re-imaging
with
it,
and
we
didn't
want
everything
so
blocky
and
squared.
D
So
that's
where
we
gave
it
a
little
bit
of
made
a
little
more
fluid
with
the
circular
motions
there
and
then
kind
of
reworked
it
because
it
originally
all
was
purple
in
butterscotch,
which
was
a
little
overwhelming.
So
we've
got
elements
of
the
purple
and
butterscotch,
which
is
the
Broadway
School
of
colors,
and
then
we're
adding
some
of
that
blue
in
there
and
different
greens
and
things
suit
with
it.
D
Plan
on
being
under
is
the
goal
there
and
the
last
project
that
we've
been
talking
about,
just
not
highlighting
quite
as
much
is
Crystal
Beach
and
by
that
I
just
mean
what
I
call
the
Gateway
project
so
the
front
of
it,
which
includes
the
basketball
court
and
then
the
bath
switch
bathrooms
were
tore
down
a
few
weeks
ago
and
then
starting
work
on
the
fence
there
getting
the
fence.
D
That's
on
Bond
drive
painted
black
a
new
chain
link
down
there
and
then
we're
going
to
extend
that
fencing
to
go
through
Broadway
as
well,
and
then
you'll
see
some
other
pieces
there
and
bike
racks
bike
repair
station,
some
permanent
trash
cans
instead
of
the
Blue
Barrel
ones,
drinking
fountain,
new
basketball,
Bowl.
All
of
that.
A
Okay,
quick
question:
I
drove
up
to
Oak
Hill
about
a
week
ago.
It
did
not
appear
that
the
basketball
court
had
been
finished.
We.
D
D
With
that,
because
with
Crystal
Beach
The,
Aquatic
Park
and
the
renovations
downstairs
technically,
we
can
open
that
up
to
access
for
the
public
if
there's
events
and
different
things,
but
I'm
not
sure
how
frequently
we're
going
to
have
those
open
to
the
general
public
when
it's
not
in
season.
So
that's
what
we're
trying
to
work
through.
If
you
do
I
know,
there's
been
talks
of
doing
it
in
a
different
location,
not
right
there
by
the
basketball
court,
but
maybe
partnering
it
along
with
Kiwanis
Press
Box.
A
Okay,
and
when
do
we
start
opening
up
our
bathrooms
like
at
Bicentennial,
you
know:
is
there
a
date
that
we.
D
It's
always
kind
of
dependent
on
the
weather
right
now
it's
a
little
bit
warmer,
so
we've
been
having
some
inquiries
on
that.
Typically,
we
like
to
wait,
though,
until
the
frosts
are
finished
and
that's
so
it's
normally
been
first
of
April
or
so,
but
this
year
it's
probably
gonna,
be
a
little
bit
sooner.
A
A
D
D
D
So
we
were
tracking
about
the
same
about
15
through
the
end
of
January,
and
now
that's
increased
slightly
so
I'm
happy
to
see
that
that's
continuing
to
Trend
upwards
for
us
same
thing
with
Sunrise
Golf
Course
operations
are
in
front
of
you.
That
is
the
most
recent.
Through
the
end
of
February
Revenue,
there
is
up
18
comparative
to
the
end
of
February
of
2022..
D
That
one
has
a
little
bit
to
do
with
some
fair
weather
for
us
here
this
month,
but
still
overall
season
passes
at
this
point
or
up
that's
reflected
on
the
right
side.
There
we've
done
59
season
passes,
total
43
of
those
are
adults
and
then
General
Revenue
in
terms
of
your
green
fees.
Your
cart,
rentals
and
such
that
is
all
up
as
well.
D
You're
on
the
golf
course
you'll
see
in
your
packet
there,
the
junior
clinic,
so
this
is
the
first
tea
program
that
Roger
brought
in
this
past
year
through
the
PGA.
It's
had
some
success
with
this
at
his
other,
his
other
place
of
employment.
But
what
this
is
it's
learning
life
skills
through
the
game
of
golf
so
in
this
participants
receive
core
lessons
and
respect
courtesy,
responsibility,
honesty,
sportsmanship
confidence,
judgment,
perseverance
and
integrity.
So
this
is
something
for
youth
ages.
D
Seven
and
up
they've
got
the
different
age
breakdowns
and
when
those
times
are,
but
these
take
place
in
June
and
July
and
are
75
dollars
per
session.
So
what
a
session
includes
is
six
hours
of
instruction,
which
is
a
six
to
one
student
to
coach
ratio.
D
Registration
in
the
youth
on
course
program
for
five
dollar
green
fees
all
year,
USGA
handicap
through
the
Indiana
PGA.
So
you
can
register
through
that
at
firstt
indiana.org
or
the
sunrise
Pro
Shop,
we'll
help
get
you
registered
on
our
first
year
with
that
we
head
over
I
believe
it's
about
30
35
participants.
D
A
A
D
Some
general
Parks
things
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
Madison
Consolidated
High
Schools.
We
had
student
volunteers
come
clean
up
the
parks
this
past
week
about
15
students
came
to
Sunrise
Golf
Course.
Then
we
had
another
18
that
was
down
on
the
riverfront.
I
personally
was
with
the
ones
on
the
riverfront,
and
they
did
two
Chuck
loads
worth
of
debris
and
trash
down
there,
and
they
were
actually
having
races
running
up
and
down,
seeing
who
could
collect
the
most.
D
D
D
This
morning
it
was
a
thank
you
to
Jan
Campbell
for
all
the
work
that
she
has
done
going
kind
of,
above
and
beyond
with
the
work
there
at
the
senior
citizen,
Center
Gary
Hewitt
is
kind
of
coordinator
at
the
moment
and
helping
orchestrate
everything
and
responsible
for
the
building,
but
Jan
is
just
kind
of
dedicated
her
own
time
and
really
done
a
lot
of
help
there.
A
lot
of
good,
so
I
thought
that
was
very
nice.
D
As
someone
re
ACH
to
say,
thank
you
to
her
for
that
Dale
Rogers
Studios,
so
on
at
Bicentennial,
Park
on
March
24th
at
5,
30
PM
we're
going
to
be
having
a
ribbon
cutting
ceremony.
So
what
this
is
you'll
see
in
towards
the
back
of
your
packet
there
and
then
I'll
have
Kim
pass
this
around
here
in
just
a
second,
but
that
large
picture
graphic
that
you
have
is
the
the
flight,
which
is
a
nine
stainless
steel,
Birds,
swaying
over
200
pounds
varying
from
12
to
16
feet.
D
High
birds
are
brought
to
life
through
their
incredible
ability
to
reflect
the
sky,
sun
and
water,
and
the
flock
is
set
up
on
a
serpentine
pattern.
So
it
kind
of
catches
your
eye
and
you
can
travel
underneath
of
them,
but
you're
going
to
be
seeing
these
exhibit
in
Bicentennial
Park
at
the
top
side,
north
side
of
Bicentennial
Park
from
March
until
October,
so
we'll
be
having
a
ribbon
cutting
for
that.
Like
I,
said
March
24th
at
5,
30
pm.
D
Skip
ahead
just
a
bit
here,
Staffing
wise,
we
have
offered
someone
for
a
maintenance
position.
We've
had
a
couple
of
people
leave
in
2021
2022
that
we
haven't
completely
filled
those
vacancies,
so
this
is
going
to
be
a
general
maintenance
position
that
we
have
offered
someone
full-time
and
they
will
be
starting
with
us
here
in
the
next
couple
of
weeks.
D
So
what
we're
trying
to
do
in
an
efforts
to
basically
improve
those
events,
be
a
little
bit
more
Hands-On
and
thoughtful
with
it,
as
we've
created
a
position
that
will
be
fall,
underneath
the
parks
department
of
the
Communications
Department
for
that
and
so
they're
going
to
organize
current
City
events,
expand
with
new
ones
and
then
enhance
our
active
adult
programming
because
the
other
component
of
it,
since
it
is
kind
of
seasonal.
When
it
comes
to
these
events,
we
felt
like
there
was
a
little
bit
more
work
that
someone
with
the
correct
skill
set
could
offer.
D
So
that's
where
we
included
the
active
adult
portion
into
that
now
with
the
upstairs
Crystal
Beach,
the
Hunter
Hall.
We
feel
like
there
might
be
an
opportunity
just
to
expand
our
current
programming
for
the
active
adults.
So
we
have
interviewed
a
few
different
into
this
and
are
preparing
an
offer
letter
for
someone
to
get
this
person
started
here
by
the
end
of
March.
D
And
then
board,
the
last
thing
is
with
programming,
so
I
already
mentioned
the
First
Tee
and
I'm
going
to
start
with
the
adult
basketball.
We
ran
our
adult
League
last
year.
Around
this
time
we
started
in
May
had
18th
participate.
Registration
is
open
for
that,
so
300
per
team.
It
was
previously
400
a
couple
of
years
ago,
but
we
lowered
that
entering
last
year
reached
out
to
a
few
participants
that
played
in
that
last
year
and
organized
their
teams
to
try
to
restart
that.
D
D
And
then,
lastly,
t-ball
softball
and
baseball
it's
that
time
of
year
we
have
we've,
had
registration
open
for
the
entire
year
for
all
of
our
sports,
but
the
next
up
are
going
to
be
these
t-ball
baseball.
Softball
sign
ups
are
available
on
Rec
desk
and
we
are
actively
promoting
that
through
our
social
medias
through
Flyers,
through
information,
that's
getting
sent
to
the
schools,
the
board
I'm
going
to
ask
you
to.
Please
continue
to
be
our
champion
for
this,
as
we
continue
through
these
programs.
D
So
you've
got
some
current
registers
where
we're
at
right
now,
I
haven't
updated
that
through
the
end
of
today,
but
that
was
through
the
end
of
last
week.
We
are
working
on
the
field
right
now
we
just
had
a
truckload
delivered.
25
tons
of
dirt
start
some
work
there
that
we
began
last
year,
so
this
is
kind
of
a
phase
two
for
Rucker
on
some
of
just
the
general
Field
improvements
of
some
for
for
a
number
of
years,
so
practices
are
set
to
begin
in
April
games.
D
D
And
with
all
that,
lastly
should
say
in
front
of
you:
you'll
see
some
different,
some
applications
that
we
have
received
for
both
the
director
and
the
program
coordinator
position.
As
you
know,
Chad
Eisen
took
a
job
with
the
NCAA,
so
he
is
no
longer
with
us
and
then
I
will
be
leaving
at
the
end
of
the
month.
D
As
my
wife
took
a
job
in
Playing
Field,
so
I
will
be
moving
up
there,
so
we've
been
actively
promoting
both
of
those
positions,
program
coordinator
and
director,
and
that's
to
basically
follow
up
and
say
all
these
events,
whether
it
be
the
campground
the
events
that
we
hold
throughout
the
city.
The
golf
course
are
programming
from
first
T
to
adult
basketball
to
softball
t-ball
baseball.
All
of
these
programs
will
continue
to
go
on,
just
as
they
normally
would
mayor.
C
D
So
those
positions,
so
you
can
reach
out
directly
to
me,
but
primarily
I
would
say
to
call
the
parks
office
that
way
it
can
just
be
streamlined,
no
matter
who
is
in
the
office,
someone
will
be
there
to
be
able
to
answer
your
questions
and
help
you
through
it.
Okay,.
C
D
And
so
that's
where
I've
been
getting
direct
messages,
calls
and
stuff
on
saying,
hey,
didn't
know
you
were
still
there
were
unsure
about
coming
to
Madison
Park,
simply
because
I'm
leaving
and
Chad
is
gone
at
the
moment,
and
so
that's
where
I
want
to
continue
to
reiterate
we're
still
holding
all
of
our
programming
as
we
normally
would.
C
And
then
the
flight
exhibit
I'm
just
wondering
where
it
came
from.
D
So
that's
something
Tony
steinhart
is
he's
kind
of
been
working
on.
He
wants
to
bring
Arts
to
each
of
the
parks
essentially-
and
this
is
something
that
he's
seen.
Success
with
and
he's
got
some
contacts
with
that.
So
he
began
those
kind
of
conversations
introductions,
so
he's
been
kind
of
streamlining
that,
and
so
this
is
just
a
move-in-
exhibit
flight's
been
going
on
he's
Dale
Rogers
started
with
some
other
different
exhibits
years
ago,
and
then
the
flight
one
has
been
taking
place
since
about
2012..
D
D
I
mean
it's
something:
there's
an
opportunity,
there's
a
lot
of
space
there
and
a
place
that
kind
of
showcase
some
front
so
I
would
say
this
is
kind
of
a
trial
test
run
see
how
what
kind
of
General
consistent
feedback
is.
A
And
where
did
you
mention
this
because
I'm
sorry
I
was
looking
at
one
of
the
applications
we're
doing
it
in
conjunction
with
the
Madison
Arts
Alliance
correct
I
mean
that's
it's
kind
of
a
collaboration.
Yes,
have
we
sent
information
to
the
individual
schools
ptas
principals,
whatever
for
the
softball
t-ball
baseball.
D
Obviously,
and
we're
going
to
continue
to
send
those
updates,
Communications
Department
sent
out
a
constant
contact
blast.
Last
week
we've
got
social
media
posts
scheduled
for
this
week.
I've
been
trying
to
get
on
the
radio
and
stuff
to
continue
to
promote
that
advertise
it,
and
then
we've
got
those
brochures
that
I
showcased
last
board
meeting
that
we're
handing
out
across
the
community
and
I'm
going
to
continue
to
send
things
to
the
schools.
A
E
I
really
encourage
you
guys
to
look
at
the
the
bids
for
some
drainage
Improvement
down
at
John,
Paul,
Park
and
I
was
I'm
actually
mad
Max,
some
of
the
words
out
of
my
mouth,
because
I
was
going
to
ask
questions
and
wonder
about
some
of
these
youth
programs
too,
because
I've
helped
coordinate
leagues
at
the
complex
in
downtown
I've,
seen
the
decline
in
enrollment,
but
some
some
of
the
other
stuff
I
don't
want
to
sound
like
a
rambling
old
man
here,
but
I
think
some
of
the
issues
too
we're
dealing
with
you
know.
E
We
need
to
really
jump
on
this,
because
these
kids,
after
the
covid
I'm
gonna,
be
honest.
They
went
on
to
Hanover
they've,
really
put
a
put
a
big
push
out
there
I
play
in
in
co-ed
League
out
there
co-ed
tournaments,
they
do
fundraisers,
which
is
drastically.
They
I
think
he's
going
to
pay
for
the
30
kids
entries
fees
out
there,
which
is
you
know,
that's
something.
That's
obviously
going
to
be
attractive.
E
They
have
two
Fields
out
there
for
their
softball
leagues,
barely
using
one,
it
just
seems
like
there's,
there's
a
I,
don't
think
people
realize
the
facilities
we
have
here
could
be
and
are
as
far
as
Logistics,
some
of
the
best
around
my
daughter
plays
travel,
softball
and
I'll
be
honest,
I've
gone
to
four
or
five
and
I'm
just
not
impressed
I'm
thinking.
Well,
Madison
is
half
the
size
of
this
town.
We've
got
this
beautiful
complex
up
here
and
I
really
feel
like
we're
just
under
utilizing.
It
I
know
some
of
it
is.
E
You
know,
out
of
our
hands
with
you
know,
with
turnover
in
personnel
and
with
you
know
that
the
coveted
wave
hit
everybody
and
I'm
heard
enrollment,
but
I
feel
like
there
hasn't
been
that
big
push
to
really
get
these
kids
back
into
it
and
I
know
going
forward
the
hiring
process.
I,
don't
know
how
involved
you
guys
are
going
to
be,
but
I
really
hope
you
can
lead.
Director
like
like
Chad
was
working
on
I
mean
he
was
every
time.
E
I
was
up
there
at
the
complex
if
I
texted
him
and
well,
he
was
around
somewhere.
You
know
he
was
he
was
there
so
I,
don't
think
it
was
a
lack
of
passion
or
anything
like
that,
but
I
really
I
was
I'm
afraid
that,
with
this
turnover
that
there's
a
chance
for
it
to
really
drop
off
and
become
non-existent
and
kind
of
scares
me
a
little
bit.
But
thank
you
very
much.
F
D
Correct
we're
past
week,
I
think
there's
a
miscommunication
I
was
just
wanting
to
sign
in
so
that
we
could
more
accurately
track
who
was
using
the
facility
when
and
for
which
classes
just
so
that
we've
got
a
better
representation
of
the
numbers
when
it
comes
time
for
breaking
down
those
financials
and
things
like
that,
so
I
apologize
if
there
was
any
miscommunication,
but
that
was
the
only
intention
with
that
sign
up
sheet.
Okay,.
F
Great,
this
has
nothing
to
do
with
seniors,
but
Gaines
park
has
a
chain
link
fence
around
it
right
now
and
you're
going
to
replace
that.
What?
What's
that.
B
Hi,
my
name
is
Will
Jacobs
I
was
the
third
and
fourth
grade
football
tackle
football
coach
last
year,
I
saw
a
little
early
with
this,
but
I
just
want
to.
We
were
barely
had
enough
numbers
to
play.
Last
year.
We
both
had
both
a
third
and
fourth
grade,
and
the
fifth
and
sixth
had
successful
Seasons.
What
I
would
like
to
do
is
promoted
a
little
more
with
funds
from
you,
guys
or
I.
Could
I
could
praise
them.
B
That
would
be
some
like
posters
and
some
of
our
bigger
employers
and
things
and
things
so
really.
That's
all
I'm
looking
to
do
is
try
to
come
from
I've.
Had
some
parents
reach
out
to
me
recently
about
it
because
they're
they
know
the
turnover
within
the
program,
and
they
just
would
like
to
make
sure
things
are
real.
C
D
So
you
can
help
coordinate
that,
because
our
Communications
Department
wants
to
kind
of
streamline
everything
when
it
comes
to
the
Flyers
and
the
pamphlets
and
all
that,
so
they
create
them
and
we'd
be
happy
to
have
your
help
with
all
that,
because
I
actually
had
a
parent
reach
out
to
me
today
asking
about
because
they're
working
on
some
sponsorship
they've
got
a
business
in
town
that
wants
to
help
sponsor
some
of
the
tackle
football,
yeah
leagues
and
basically
just
wanted
to
basically
recommit
that
we're
in
that
league.
