A
It's
not
easy
work,
but
it's
important.
My
name
is
muhammad.
I'm
the
team
lead
for
minneapolis
violence
interrupters
six
days
a
week.
We
canvassed
some
of
the
most
dangerous
neighborhoods
in
minneapolis.
We
provide
resources,
we
de-escalate
violence
and
we
help
build
up
communities,
we're
trying
to
be
prepared
for
anything
gun,
violence,
stabbings
stuff.
We
see
it
all
and
it's
our
job
to
help
people.
However,
we
can
growing
up.
I
saw
violence
all
around
me
when
I
was
16.
I
lost
my
best
friend
to
gun
violence.
A
It
changed
me,
so
I
dedicated
my
life
to
help
people
not
become
a
part
of
the
cycle
of
violence.
Each
of
my
team
members
is
from
the
neighborhood
we
serve
and
all
of
us
come
from
backgrounds
where
we've
dealt
with
violence.
Personally,
so
now
we're
here
to
do
something
about
it.
I
am
working
to
make
the
city
safe
one
day
at
a
time.
I
am
a
protector
of
my
community.
