C
C
The
vision
for
that
was
dr.,
Dineen
vincent
our
chief
of
staff
and
associate
superintendent,
and
what
she
had
done
is
was
to
become
concerned
about
the
welfare
of
students,
both
academically
and
from
the
standpoint
of
health,
which
our
vision
was
that
we
should
have
a
holistic
approach
to
education,
to
to
educate
the
body,
mind
and
spirit
of
the
student
and
to
educate
the
mind,
which
is
our
chief
function.
It's
difficult
to
do
that
if
one
of
those
two
categories
aren't
just
what
they
should
be.
C
So
we
came
up
with
a
concept
after
much
national
benchmarking
of
metro,
Career
Academy,
which
partners
with
other
organizations
to
to
bring
the
facilities.
Students
need
into
the
picture
and,
of
course,
Nicole
and
Rosalyn
Johnson
and
dr.
Donna
Thomas,
who
is
on
our
board
informally
with
the
Mary
Mahoney
health
center,
along
with
dr.
C
Vincent
and
others,
came
up
with
the
concept
of
this
full-service
community
school,
which
in
this
case
as
a
health
center
connected
to
it,
and
that
is
the
Perrier
Clawson
Family
Medical
Center,
and
so
we
have
students
in
grades
9
through
12
and
then
of
course,
as
you
referenced,
councilman
Kelly.
We
we
have
the
entire
metro,
career
academy
and
perrier
Clawson
not
only
serves
the
community
but
serves
all
of
our
full-time
students
who
have
health
care
needs.
C
If
they,
if
they
don't
have
the
health
insurance
or
the
ability
to
pay,
they
continue
to
serve
them
and
see
to
their
medical,
dental
and
mental
needs
which
assist
our
students
to
be
successful
in
their
career.
Metro
Career
Academy
is
a
Gold
LEED
certified
facility,
the
only
educational
facility
in
the
state
and
and
it
houses
students
in
grades
9
through
12
and
cooperation
with
our
partnering
schools,
Oklahoma
City
Public
Schools
in
crooked
oak.
A
Miss
Alexander
in
reference
to
the
medical
clinic.
What
was
the
the
vision
behind
developing
a
medical
clinic
as
part
of
the
the
totality
of
the
campus
and
I
know
the
holistic
approach?
You
know
you
start
from
there,
but
for
for
the
for
this,
for
the
institution
itself
to
take
on
such
a
major
project,
which
is
health,
and
course
it's
something
that
we
all
are
talking
about
every
day
as
it
relates
to
longevity
and
and
the
care
of
our
citizens.
A
B
It
very
well
we've
been
in
service
with
dr.
branscum
in
that
school
itself,
since
2007
we've
served
over
6,000
people
in
that
time.
It's
a
present
date.
Everything
and
it's
been
wonderful
responses
and
we
initially
started
out
at
the
adult
technology,
education
building
back
on
forty-eighth
and
Lincoln,
and
we
were
there
for
several
years
and
then,
when
they
built
a
new
site,
they
brought
us
on
over
with
them
to
the
new
location.
And
it's
been
wonderful,
married.
A
B
B
Perrier
cloths
and
Family
Medical
Center,
along
with
all
the
other
clinics
and
under
the
community
health
centers
incorporated
anyone
can
come
from
anywhere
to
any
one
of
our
clinics
for
services.
The
Prairie
Clausen
clinic
is
not
a
free
clinic.
You
do
have
to
pay
a
copay
when
you
do
come
in
where
we
take
most
almost
all
insurances
and
everything
for
the
you
know
for
the
facility.
Okay,.
A
When
you
look
at
northeast
Oklahoma,
City
and,
of
course,
we're
talking
about
Ward
7,
which
is
northeast,
Oklahoma
City,
has
some
very
unfortunate
challenges
in
reference
to
to
health
concerns
and
I,
think
the
city
county
health
department
and,
of
course,
other
statistics
has
revealed,
you
know
some
very
alarming
facts
as
it
relates
to
cardiovascular,
and
you
know
the
diseases
that
affect
so
many
people
in
reference
to
the
health
ampm
clinics,
medical
clinics
in
northeast
Oklahoma
City.
This
seems
like
it's
the
first
one
that
has
been
kind
of
a
and
out
of
the
box
program.
A
B
A
B
Had
a
health
clinic,
there
also
ended
up
until
almost
2003,
and
then
we
didn't
have
enough
providers
at
that
time
to
stay.
I
guess,
keep
it
going
everything
and
then
so.
When
we
partnered
with
metro
Career
Academy,
we
were
able
to
get
more
providers
in
also
to
take
care
of
everybody
and
stuff
like
that.
It's
been
a
great
great
response
since
then,
in.
B
C
Among
those
are
dental
and
medical,
assisting
and
part
of
our
overall
arrangement
and
agreement
in
our
memorandum
of
understanding
is,
is
Perry
a
class
and
family
medical
center
also
provides
internships
for
our
students,
which
which
allows
them
to
be
trained
and
allows
that
medical
knowledge
to
continue.
So
that's
very
important.
B
C
C
Do
we
have
we
have
memorandums
of
understanding
both
with
crooked
oak
and
Oklahoma
City
Public
Schools
Angela
Monson
is
is
the
chair
of
our
impact
committee,
which
is
the
committee
that
looks
at
and
recommends
guidance
for,
metro,
Career
Academy.
So
we
we
have
a
close
relationship
with
our
sending
schools,
and
actually
we
have
referrals
from
the
sending
schools
for
many
of
the
students
that
we
serve
at
Metro,
Career
Academy.
The
unique
thing
about
metro
career
academy,
in
addition
to
our
partnership
with
Mary
Mahoney,
is
that
students
are
not
time-bound.
C
Actually,
it's
a
competency-based
high
school
and
they
receive
their
credits
as
they
progress,
and
we
also
have
a
virtual
high
school,
so
they
can
receive
that
credit
online.
If
a
student
has
a
health
issue,
all
they
have
to
do
is
walk
down
the
hall
and
down
the
stairs
and
and
there
they
are
at
the
health
clinic.
B
A
How
can
we
live
a
healthier
life
and
and
to
know
that
you
all
have
adopted
this
holistic
approach
as
it
relates
to
to
the
campus
and
and
the
students,
and-
and
you
know
what
is
really
great-
is
to
see
the
integration
that
it's
within
the
community
as
a
whole.
You
know,
I
think
this
is
where
we
can
have
so
much
more
in
reference
to
a
quality
of
health.
Is
that
the
partnerships
that
exist
with
not
just
being
this
is
mine,
but
this
is
the
whole
community.
C
Are
in
our
entire
concept,
is
this
is
ours?
Why
right
both
Mary,
Mahoney
and
Metro
tech
feel
feel
very
solid
in
relationship
to
that,
and
it's
a
very
first
of
all
it's
a
forward-looking
partnership,
as
you
said,
its
innovative
and
out
of
the
box,
and
in
addition,
it
is
a
partnership
of
friendship
because
mutually
our
goal
is
to
do
what
is
best
for
the
citizens
of
the
community,
including
our
students
and
everyone
who
lives
in
the
community.
A
And
miss
Alexander
one
of
your
tests
in
reference
to
to
the
cloths
and
perry
Clausen's
clinic.
Is
there
a
threat?
That's
okay
is
that
you
you
go
out
into
the
community
and
you
inform
people
of
the
program
and
promote
the
program
and
try
to
let
people
know
that
this
is
a
service.
That's
that's
needed
and
we're
here
to
provide
the
service
right,
correct.
B
We
go
out
to
health
fairs
in
the
community
and
make
them
aware
that
we
do
have
services
in
the
northeast
side
of
town
for
them,
and
everything
we've
been
blessed
to
be
able
to
work
with
oklahoma
city,
county
health
department.
Also
with
the
my
heart,
my
health,
my
family
program,
to
introduce
cardiovascular
care
to.
B
A
A
Just
want
you
all
to
know
that
I
really
do
appreciate
your
taking
the
time
to
participate
in
the
the
ward
7
show
today.
This
is
a
great
great
program
and,
and
we're
going
to
be
out
visiting
you
more
and
in
every
chance
I
get
I'm
going
to
to.
Let
people
know
that
the
the
program
is
there
and
to
take
advantage
of
it
so
to
dr.
Brandt,
skin
and
miss
Alexander.
Thank
you
so
much
for
being
a
part
of
the
city's.
What
seven
show
thank
you.
