Description
City of Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Committee meeting, held April 28nd, 2022
A
Okay,
so
today
is
april
28th.
This
is
the
parks
and
rec
recreation
commission
meeting
for
april,
and
I
see
two
commissioners
present
and
we
have
seven
commissioners
absent
or
unavailable
at
this
time.
So
we
have
to
call
the
meeting
cancel
the
meeting
due
to
a
lack
of
quorum.
B
If,
if
I
may,
I
just
wanted
to-
I
don't
know,
who's
in
attendance
as
far
as
folks
for
public
comments,
but
I
know
that
an
ongoing
issue
for
quite
some
time
and
it's
been
a
work
in
progress
with
regards
to
pickleball
issues
and
pickleball
concerns
and
just
to
reassure
those
who
may
be
listening
or
tuning
in
that
is
a
work
in
progress
myself.
B
Personally,
I
I
work
full-time
for
an
hoa
locally
and
it's
been
crazy
busy
in
recent
times,
so
I've
been
attuned
to
the
comments
and
needs
of
the
pickleball
community
and
other
parks
and
recreation
matters,
but
it's
been
very
crazy
busy
at
my
work
site,
so
things
are
starting
to
wind
down.
B
We
have
one
more
busy
weekend
forthcoming
as
far
as
coachella
valley
events-
and
I
have
spoken
to
other
commission
members
and
also
those
who
are
involved
in
the
pickleball
community
and
we're
hoping
to
by
mid-may
coordinate
something
as
far
as
a
meeting
for
discussion
purposes
and
get
some
follow-up
and
feedback
pertaining
to
the
surveys
and
questionnaires
that
have
been
submitted
in
recent
times.
B
So,
just
to
reassure
folks
that
you
know
I
am
aware
I
am
attuned
to
what's
going
on
and
things
are
moving
along
and
perhaps
not
as
quickly
as
many
would
like,
and
that's
certainly
understandable.
B
But
I'm
aware
I'm
on
it
and
I'll
be
able
to
put
greater
time
and
insights
into
addressing
and
hopefully
working
in
conjunction
with
christian
and
with
the
city
council
members
and
with
genie
and
others
we
can
as
west.
We
can
move
things
along
pertaining
to
pickleball
concerns.
That's
essentially
what
I
wanted
to
share.
A
And
I
just
want
to
reiterate,
too
that
we
have
two
vacancies
on
this
commission
so
reach
out
to
the
city
clerk
if
anyone's
interested
in
applying
to
be
on
the
commission.
A
So
the
city
council
is
conducting
a
budget
study
session
on
wednesday
may
4th
at
5
30
pm,
and
you
can
either
watch
on
youtube
or
attend
in
person
in
the
council
chambers.
They
are
always
interested
in
your
public
comment
and
I've
provided
some
links
there
in
the
chat
for
how
to
access
it.
The
city
council's
web
page
within
our
city
website
has
information
on
how
to
provide
public
comment
or
you
can
email
city
clerk
at
palm
springs,
ca.gov.
A
Anything
related
to
parks
and
recreation
does
trickle
down
to
the
parks
and
recreation
commission.
So
if
you
have
a
comment,
feel
free
to
send
an
email,
and
everyone
gets
that,
and
we
appreciate
your
your
feedback
and
input,
and
so
now
I
think
we're
going
to
adjourn
and
wish
you
well
and
we'll
see
you
around
come
see
me
at
the
library
or
come
see
me
at
the
city
council
meetings
I'll
be
there.
