Description
No description was provided for this meeting.
If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
B
B
C
D
D
Run
that
back
round
is
perfect.
B
C
Okay,
we're
right
at
5,
30.,
let's
see
peter
just
came
on,
looks
like
we're
just
missing
edwin
yeah.
C
C
I
will
call
our
human
rights
commission
meeting
to
order
for
monday
september
14
2020
we're
all
together
on
zoom
today.
So
thank
you
all
for
coming
and
being
online
next
item
up
is
the
reading
of
the
mission
statement
who
would
like
to
read
the
mission
statement
today,
who
hasn't
done
it
in
a
while.
B
E
Goals,
I
can
do
that
you're
on
okay,
first
to
develop
community
education
programs
to
investigate
and
mediate
instances
of
discrimination
of
groups
or
individuals
to
bring
persons
and
groups
together
in
common
support
of
human
rights
issues
and
to
acquire
the
fiscal
and
human
resources
necessary
to
support
and
accomplish
the
work
of
the
commission.
B
Okay,
let's
do
the
last
four
to
provide
management
and
coordination
for
the
commission
to
promote
diversity
through
the
appointment
of
candidates
to
all
city
boards
and
commissions
to
proportionately
reflect
the
diversity
of
the
population
of
the
city
of
palm
springs.
The
commission
and
each
committee
shall
develop
goals
and
objectives
and
annually
for
adoption
by
the
commission.
The
commission
shall
work
closely
with
the
mayor
city,
council,
city
cabinet
and
with
all
other
city,
commission,
commissioners
and
boards
in
joint
endeavors
and
support
the
commissioner's
mission
statement
and
city
goals
and
objectives.
C
Great
job,
thank
you
for
that.
Okay,
next,
we've
got
roll
call
our
status
of
a
quorum.
A
Why
don't
I
do
a
roll
call,
mr
chair.
B
C
A
B
Up
hi
good
evening,
I.
C
B
C
G
G
C
Any
opposition
okay
minutes
are
accepted
and
approved
as
submitted
now
we're
on
to
item
six,
and
this
is
the
time
in
our
meeting
at
the
beginning
of
the
meeting
where
commissioners
staff
and
student
comments
are
shared,
everybody
can
share
information
that
you
think
is
topical
and
timely
with
the
rest
of
the
with
the
rest
of
the
commission,
and
I
would
like
to
welcome
today
solange
signore,
who
is
joining
us
as
our
student
representative
and
we're
so
proud
of
the
work
she
has
done
in
the
community
and
in
school
and
it's
great
to
have
our
student
representative
seat
occupied.
F
C
Welcome
and
we
look
forward
to
having
you
are
having
your
voice
and
your
thoughts
and
ideas
expressed
and
and
bringing
bringing
the
voice
of
youth
to
the
table.
So.
C
Excellent
well,
why
don't
we
just
start
off?
I
know
this
is
brand
new
for
you,
but
can
you
just
share
a
one
minute
background
on
yourself,
so
the
rest
of
the
commission
is
aware
of
what
you
do
at
school
and
in
the
community.
F
Yes,
so
my
name
is
solange,
I
just
turned
15.
I'm
adopted
and
I
have
been
like
I've
been
in
the
well.
How
do
you
say
activism
community,
since
I
was
very
young
I
like
to
speak
out
on
what
I
believe
is
right
and
I
like
to
speak,
use
my
voice
to
help
other
people
who
can't
necessarily
use
their
own
voice,
and
I
am
also
in
this
group
that
I've
been
with
for
about
four
years,
called
buddha
bullying.
F
C
That
was
excellent
background.
Thank
you
and
again
welcome.
Let's
go
around
our
little
cube
here
with
commissioner
comments,
commissioner
shepard
is
the
first
one.
I
see.
C
So
well,
this
is
the
point
where
you,
this
is
just
the
time
for
commissioner
comments.
D
F
B
Yes,
welcome
aboard
look
forward
to
working
with
you
and
definitely
getting
your
perspective.
B
G
Welcome
solange
excited
to
get
you
on
board
as
a
15
year
old
at
palm
springs
high.
Is
that
correct.
G
You,
actually
you
know
this
is
one
of
the
things
I'd
love.
You
know
in
terms
of
my
comments
for
today
there
has
been
a
very
important
conversation
around
your
age
group
because
of
the
violence
in
palm
springs
and
I'd
love
to
like
you
know,
obviously
welcome
you
aboard,
but
you
know
what
your
point
your
perspective
is
going
to
be
so
important,
because
we
we
clearly
need
that
help
to
understand
and
to
hear
15
year
olds
and
16
year
olds
and
17
year
olds,
speak
and
and
represent.
G
I'm
happy
that
you're
on
when
I
was
at
palm
springs
high
school,
like
I
graduated
in
1989,
and
it
was
it
was,
we
didn't,
have
all
the
different
affinity
groups
and
I'm
so
glad
that
we
do
now
have
them,
and
now
you
know
there
is
a
level
of
like
you
know
how
human
rights
and
civil
rights-
and
you
know
are
spoke
of,
spoke
about
in
the
high
school
realm,
and
I'm
so
excited
that
you're
on
board.
Thank
you
for
taking
on
the
adventure.
E
I
too
will
offer
my
welcome
to
solange
it's
going
to
be
exciting
and
interesting
to
to
hear
a
young
perspective
on
things.
I'm
really
looking
forward
to
that.
It's
also
great
to
see
my
fellow
commissioners
back
together
again
and
hopefully
we'll
be
able
to
in
this
new
way
of
doing
life
get
on
with
the
business
of
manhattan.
So
welcome
back.
D
All
right
so
so
solange
has
come
in
presented
to
us
before,
and
I
am
so
excited
that
you
decided
to
join
us
and
that
you
actually.
D
Waited
until
it
it
was
time
to
come
aboard.
I
really
appreciate
that
this
team
has
been
waiting
and
hoping
for
you
for
about
three
years,
so
it
is
good
to
have
a
young
person
back
in
a
ch
chair
with
us.
You,
you
have
a
lot
to
offer
us
and
show
us
and
guide
us.
So
if
ever
you
have
a
thought-
and
you
aren't
sure
if
it's
important,
if
it's
relevant,
I
just
encourage
you
to
share
it,
because
that
is
the
only
way
that
the
team
can.
D
What
it
is
to
be
a
person
in
the
high
school
these
days,
so
thank
you,
and
if
there
are
questions
that
you
have,
you
can
contact.
F
C
Okay,
excellent
and
you
know
my
comment
to
share
with
everybody
and
just
to
help
raise
awareness.
C
We've
got
three
census
tracks
in
the
city
of
palm
springs
that
are
under
reporting,
so
we've
got
the
desert
highlands
track
the
lawrence
crosley
track
and
las
palmas.
Try
are
all
three
key
tracks
that
are
under
reporting,
so
we
encourage
everybody
to
complete
the
census,
it's
very
fast
online
at
my2020census.gov,
so
everyone
is
encouraged
to
complete
the
census.
If
you
haven't
done
so,
we
only
have
two
more
weeks
to
the
end
of
the
month,
where
the
census
will
close
for
for
this
10
year
period.
C
C
Nothing
new
to
report
on
my
side
from
the
palm
springs
police
department,
lgbt
outreach
committee
and
master
calendar
hasn't
been
assigned
anybody,
nothing
coming
out
of
main
street
and
we
don't
have
an
organized
neighborhood
assigned
person.
Yet
so
cultural
affairs
communities.
A
Yes,
if
I
may,
on
the
budget,
the
amount
shown
is
what's
available.
So
if
the
commission
could
give
some
thought
as
to
how
to
allocate
that,
particularly
with
retreat,
awards
sponsorships
and
dues
marketing,
those
are
the
funds
available
for
covering
those
costs.
C
Sure
and
jay
we
we
did
have
an
approved
figure
that
came
out
of
the
commission
table
that
totaled
35.67.
C
What
did
you
say?
Our
number
is.
A
C
Okay,
so,
commissioner
ames
is
this
something
we
can
ask
you
to
review
and
we're
going
to
ask
for
another
for
committee
assignments
here
in
a
few
minutes,
so
someone
else
could
sit
with
you
and
just
look
at
where
do
we
carve
500
from
from
the
budget
that
was
originally
prepared
because
we're
just
500
bucks
off.
G
Okay,
yeah
no
problem
and
then
also
you
know,
anybody
wants
to
also.
B
Volunteer-
and
you
know
it's
a
subcommittee
so
it'll
be
really
helpful
to
get
other
perspectives.
C
Yeah,
okay,
thank
you!
Hey
jay!
Do
you
see
craig
is
asking
in
chat
when
public
comment
is?
Are
we
okay
with
going
backwards?
Since
public
comment
is
already
closed,.
C
A
Yes,
I
do,
commissioner
ames,
please
don't
hesitate
to.
Let
us
know
if
you
need
history,
additional
information
on
the
budget.
C
We'll
go
back
to
item
four
public
comment.
This
time
has
been
set
aside
for
members
of
the
public
to
address
the
human
rights
commission
on
agenda
items
and
items
of
general
interest
within
the
subject
matter.
Jurisdiction
of
the
commission
three
minutes
is
allowed
to
each
speaker.
Although
the
commission
values
your
comments
pursuant
to
the
brown
act,
it
generally
cannot
take
any
action
on
items
not
listed
on
the
posted
agendas.
C
F
Hi,
my
last
name
is
scott
and
I
intentionally
keep
that
quiet
because
it
confuses
people,
so
it's
craig
scott,
just
for
we
were
waiting
to
be
allowed
into
the
this
meeting
for
a
few
minutes
prior
to
when
we
were
actually
in
so
I
don't
know
there
might
be
some
technical
problem
with
getting
past
the
password
or
waiting
room
or
something,
but
we
were
sitting
here
for
several
minutes
waiting
to
get
in,
so
we
knew
the
public
comment
was
early
and
we
were
on
time.
F
So
that
being
said,
I
would
like
to
encourage
you
to
recognize
in
mid-december,
on
december
20
december.
18Th
is
international
migrants
day
and
I'm
here
with
ubaldo
who's,
our
co-coordinator
with
desert
support
for
asylum
seekers,
and
we
work
a
lot
with
asylum
seekers.
F
Some
of
you
might
remember,
I
was
at
this
commission
back
in
january
and
we
continue
our
work
bringing
in
asylum
seekers
with
an
emphasis
on
lgbtq
asylum
seekers,
and
it
would
be
really
nice
if
the
city
could
acknowledge
international
migrants
day
on
december
18th,
it's
united
united
nations
designated
day.
G
B
C
You
thank
you
and
thanks
for
letting
us
know
about
the
hang
up.
As
you
tried
to
enter
the
meeting
today,
appreciate
it
okay,
so
public
comment
is
closed
and
we'll
move
on
back
to
reports
from
the
community
service
awards
committee.
C
D
C
Yeah:
okay,
any
updates
from
attending
desert
highlands,
gateway
estates,
community
association,
meeting.
B
Not
so
much
on
the
association
itself,
but
I
did
attend
part
of
that
meeting.
They
had
last
wednesday
about
crime
and
shootings
and,
of
course,
our
representatives
from
my
desert
highlighter
and
due
to
technical
problems,
I
didn't
wasn't
able
to
stay
through
the
whole
meeting,
but
I
caught
part
of
the
police
chief's
comment
and
of
course
some
individuals
spoke
out
that
they
thought
that
they
would
not
been
listened
to
or
not
enough
police
response
or
action
and
the
chief
I
thought
he
did
say
that
there
would
be
some
improvements
or
more.
B
I
guess
cruising
through
that
area
and
watching
it
so,
but
since
then
I
guess
they
have
arrested
some
people,
but
other
than
that.
I
have
nothing
else
to
report
on
that.
I
think
I'm
trying
to
follow
it
through
the
media,
mostly
so
that's
about
all.
I
have
right
now.
C
Okay,
thank
you
and
I
was
able
to
attend
community
meetings
several
weeks
ago
and
I
think
that
the
take
takeaway
there
you
know
in
in,
in
addition
to
understanding
the
the
the
tragedies
that
are
occurring
in
the
community.
Now,
the
the
comments
that
were
coming
from
some
of
the
leaders
in
the
community
were
specifically
directed
to
the
police
department
was
asking
to
have
a
greater
presence
but
have
a
greater
presence
and
and
and
cut
down
on
the
number
of
the
number
of
stops
when
you're.
I
forget.
C
The
word
has
skipped
my
mind
right
now,
when
you're,
just
the
police
officer,
may
be
inquiring
on
on
an
issue
so
they're
asking
for
fewer
of
those
stops,
but
they
they
do
want
to
have
a
higher
presence
in
the
community
and
then
the
other
item
that
was
you
know,
really
big,
was
being
able
to
work
with
the
police
department
and
and
and
create
opportunities
to
have
conversations
with
the
young
parents
in
the
community
and
and
to
be
able
to
start.
C
C
C
It's
committee
report:
you
can
sure
you
can
ask
questions
of
of
the
report
that
came
out
of
the
committee
for
sure.
G
Yeah,
actually
it's
not
a
question
of
the
committee,
but
it's
it's
it's
a
comment
on
the
fact
that
it
would
be
something
I
guess
reported
on
by
1ps
as
a
subcommittee.
Is
that
correct
the
point
of
information.
C
Yeah,
I
don't
1ps
is
a
neighbor,
the
neighborhood.
We
have
usually
have
a
representative
that
reports
on
1ps,
but
we
didn't
have.
We
don't
have
a
representative
currently,
but
if
you
would
like
to
report
on,
you
were.
If
you
attended
the
meeting
on
1ps,
you
could
yes,
okay
yeah.
This
would
be
the
time
where
you
could
do
that.
So
go.
G
Ahead,
I
was
glad
to
hear
the
commissioner
flood.
You
said
that
she
also
attended
that
meeting.
I
attended
the
whole
meeting
and
it
was
intense
and
I
think
if
and
if
I'm
not
sure,
if
there's
an
archive
of
that
meeting,
but
if
people
do
get
a
chance
to
listen
to
it.
G
You
know
it
was
very
different
from
the
listenings
the
meeting
that
he
also
had,
but
it
was
great
to
see
that
our
city
council
members,
grace
garner
and
dennis
woods
were
there
grace
guard
council
member
grace
garner,
really
held
it
down
to,
as
one
of
you
know,
as
a
very
strong
leader
in
terms
of
being
able
to
be,
you
know
a
representative
of
district
one,
because
it's
very
much
district
one
and
district,
I
want
to
say
just
one
and
two
that
sort
of
you
know
the
current
levels
of
activities
that
are
reported
in
the
media
are
in
the
in
these
two
areas,
and
I
think
the
conversation
has
to
you
know
it's
it's
kind
of
a
great
way
to
sort
of
see
it
that
this
commission,
also,
you
know,
does
do
it
be
representative,
be
be
present,
and
I
think
that's
my
comment
for
this,
and
just
so
that
we
can
get
these
conversations
really
some
real
content
as
people
who
live-
and
you
know
in
palm
springs-
and
I
think
that's
why
I
mentioned
it
earlier
when
when
we
welcome
salon
the
solange,
these
are
our.
G
G
C
F
Okay,
I
just
want
to
add
to
that.
I
definitely
agree
with
you.
A
hundred
percent
and
I
feel,
like
these
kids,
do
feel
angry,
because
I,
as
a
teenager,
I
don't
really
think
those
kids
want
to
be
told
what
to
do
or
want
to
be
told
how
to
live
their
life.
F
I
think
they
want
to
be
heard
and
they
want
to
be
a
part
of
the
movement,
but,
being
I
like
from
their
perspective,
I
think
being
told
something
and
not
listening
to
what
they
have
to
say
or
like
not
allowing
them
to
be
a
part
of
it,
especially
like
to
include
more
kids
from
all
over
the
community
in
these
types
of
meetings,
I
think
to
really
listen
to
them
and
get
their
perspective
on
things
and
ask
them.
What
could
we
do
to
include
them?
C
Yeah
excellent,
thank
you
for
both
the
comments
and
you
know
we
can
assign
another
representative.
In
addition
to
commissioner
flood
to
be
the
and
and
commissioner
andrade
has
gone
to
some
meetings
in
the
past,
I
believe,
but
you
know
when
we
get
to
commission
our
committee
assignments.
C
If
you
know,
if
there's
another
commissioner,
that
would
like
to
serve
in
the
role
of
the
liaison.
That's
our
purpose
and
that's
why
we
have
liaisons
to
these
various
community
organizations.
C
So
we
can
make
sure
that
the
commission
is
there
and
and
being
an
active
participant
with
in
the
community,
so
we'll
be
able
to
do
that
a
little
a
little
later
on
in
the
meeting.
If
there's
interest
to
join
or
to
be
that
community
liaison
next
up,
it
actually
is
a
commissioner
fled
again
on
veterans
issues.
B
I
have
nothing
to
report
rather
than
locally.
The
american
legion
has
been
closed,
but
they
are
planning
an
outdoor
event
on
october
17th.
If
anybody
wants
to
attend
it's
a
it's,
a
oktoberfest
type
of
thing
and
the
palm
springs.
Police
association
is
involved
with
that
too,
and
it's
sort
of
a
fundraiser
for
the
police
department,
association
and
also
for
needy
children
in
the
coachella
coachella
valley
area.
So
that's
the
october
17th,
I
think
from
3
p.m,
to
7
p.m.
B
C
And
they're
the
legions
closed
due
to
covet
right.
Yes,
okay,
yeah
development,
mediation
committee.
Are
there
any
updates.
E
Where
is
this
my
okay
yeah?
Actually,
I
do
have
it's
not
exactly
an
update,
but
I
thought
it
might
be
helpful,
especially
for
the
new
commissioners.
I
just
want
to
do
like
a
couple
paragraphs.
If
I
may
sure
I
want
to
explain
that
mediation
is
a
dispute
resolution,
a
dispute
resolution
using
communication
and
negotiation
and
compromise
a
lot
of
communities
offer
mediation
to
their
citizens
engaged
in
conflicts
where
the
local
laws
don't
speak,
specifically
to
maybe
a
conflict
that
they're
experiencing
in
california
dispute
resolutions.
E
I
want
to
say
that
I'm
interested
in
the
opportunity
to
re-establish
mediation
as
a
function
of
our
commission,
and
perhaps
there
are
others.
I
hope
there
are
others,
because
I
think
that
we,
if
we're,
if
we're
responsible
for
it,
we
should
have
at
least
one
seated
commissioner,
at
all
times,
that's
that
is
certified
to
do
mediation.
E
So
I'd
like
to
ask
jay,
if
maybe
you
can
verify
that
this
is
still
city
council's
desire
for
us
to
provide
this
service
and
maybe
give
us
some
direction
on
on
how
we
might
acquire
the
training
and
the
certification
and
I'm
more
than
happy
to
follow
up
on
anything
that
you
discover
and
share
with
us.
Okay,.
A
Okay,
well,
let
me
add,
you
know
this
could
be
a
budget
matter,
so
the
allocation
of
the
resources
for
the
training
you
spoke
of,
but
also
there's
at
least
one
organization.
I
know
of
that
also
provides
mediation
services,
and
that
is
the
community
action
partnership
which
serves
all
of
riverside
county.
So
I
will
look
into
those
services,
commissioner
andrade
and
perhaps
put
them
in
touch
with
you.
E
Good,
I
am,
I
think,
historically,
the
call
to
provide
this
service
has
been.
You
know,
rather
rather
rare,
but
so
maybe
we
we
do
have
an
outside
organization
that
we
that
we
can
have
at
our
disposal
should
the
occasion
arise
in
the
future.
I
remember
that
dale
used
to
say
to
us
that
the
county
of
riverside
had
us
had
a
certification
program.
I
I
don't
know
if
they
still
do.
Is
that
one
of
the
things
perhaps
that
you
could
could
find
out
about.
E
C
The
excellent
commissioner
andrade
and-
and
thank
you
for
you,
know
reminding
us
of
of
what
that
purpose
is
and
for
volunteering
to
you
know,
get
the
training
and,
and
and
yes,
dale
had
had
mentioned.
Frequently.
C
There
was
a
source
of
training
that
wasn't
quite
up
to
the
40-hour
training,
but
there's
a
an
interim
level
of
training
that
we
could
get,
and
it
was
you
know,
even
in
the
100
range,
so
yeah
jay
appreciate
your
you
know.
Looking
into
that,
letting
us
know
what
we
can
do:
okay
and
no
update
on
the
retreat.
C
You
know,
I
think
the
big
thing
that
I
wanted
to
bring
forward
to
everybody
is
you
know
at
the
city
council
meeting
on
september
10th,
the
council
did
approve
forming
and
establishing
an
equity
and
social
justice
committee,
and
there
are
specifically
you
know,
two
two
seats
on
that
committee
that
are
open
to
the
human
rights
commission.
C
The
work
is
yet
to
be
gone
began
on
on
this
equity
and
social
justice
committee,
but
they'll
implement
the
the
committee
was
charged
with
implementing
the
items
that
have
been
outlined
in
the
city
council's
resolution,
24792
calling
and
in
part
it
was
calling
for
the
social
justice
committee
to
implement
the
the
items
that
were
raised
by
city
council
earlier
this
year.
C
So
you
know
the
ideally,
we
could
have
two
representatives
that
would
sit
on
this
committee
that
that
maybe
have
some
experience
background
in
in
a
wide
range
of
you
know,
from
civil
rights
to
community
community
organization.
To
you
know,
working
with
within
the
the
social
justice
arena,
the
racial
justice
arena,
of
course,
any
any
any
one
of
our
commissioners
with
backgrounds
that
that
could
bring
a
level
of
expertise
to
this
equity
and
social
justice
committee.
C
C
But
timing
was
good
for
us
to
be
able
to
talk
about
it
today
and
see
where
we've
got
interest
within
our
within
our
committee
of
folks.
That
would
serve
as
liaisons.
You
know,
with
the
equity
and
social
justice
committee.
C
Okay,
beautiful,
we
will
see
you
know
what
comes
you
know
from
city
staff.
I
guess
I
think
we're
going
to
get
some
instruction
and
guidance
and
once
that
guidance
is
established,
if
anybody
else
on
the
human
rights
commission
is
interested,
please
you
know
let
let
jay
know
and
jay
can
let
vice
chair
and
myself
know,
and
then
we
can
formally
appoint
two
liaisons
to
sit
on
that
committee.
So
thank
you
both
for
for
offering
to
volunteer
and
be
a
part
of
that.
A
Mr
chair,
yes,
I'm
just
checking
the
agenda
and
wanted
to
confirm
whether
or
not
we
touched
on
item
eight
or
a
youth
education
affairs
committee.
C
Pass
did
I
run
right
over
them.
I
think
I
think
I
did
we'll
go
back
to
that.
One.
Okay,
so
committee
assignments,
let's
finish
the
the
thought
process
on
there.
You
know
we
were.
We
were
going
to
go
through
and
and
make
full
committee
assignments
tonight,
and-
and
I
think
we
need
to
wait
until
next
week
unless
somebody
is
very
specific
tonight-
and
you
know
the
committees
you
would
like
to
serve,
it
would
be
great
for
us
to
assign
you
to
those
committees
now.
C
You
know
specifically
looking
at
our
new
commissioners
that
are
are
on
board
and
and
we
had
an
onboarding
meeting
and
we
were
able
to
walk
through
some
of
the
background
of
our
commission
work
and
and
spending
time
on
on
the
different
committees
was
was
a
big
thing,
so
I
I
offer
my
apologies,
because
the
document
that
we
reviewed
is
not
the
most
current
document.
C
So
that's
why
I'm
suggesting
that
we
we
put
off
our
assignments
until
until
next
month,
but
I
don't
want
to
hold
anybody
up
if
anybody
is,
is
passionate
about
wanting
to
work
on
finance
with
commissioner
ames
to
work
on
that
budget.
Right
now
or
or
be
a
liaison
to
any
one
of
our
community
organizations,
you
know
I'd
like
to
make
sure
we
can.
C
You
know,
get
you
engaged
now
if
it's
something
that
you're
interested
in
so
was
someone
saying
something
so
and
in
my
apologies
to
the
new
commissioners
from
the
onboarding
session,
I
we
will
get
the
document
out,
that
that
is
a
more
updated
version
of
what
we
walked
through
of
the
committees
and
then
there's
just
some
minor
changes
in
the
categories
and
the
headers.
C
You
know
the
main
category
of
of
what
the
the
committee
is
and
and
the
sub
sub
categories
that
subcommittees
that
fall
under
those
standing
committee
head
headline
head
titles.
So
we
will
do
that
and
get
that
out
to
everyone
and
and
hold
steady
as
we
go,
and
if
anybody
is
able
to
attend
the
1ps
meeting
coming
up
on
tuesday-
and
actually
I
don't
know
if
that's
tuesday,
tomorrow,
tuesday,
but
the
1ps
meeting
is
coming
up.
C
If
any
any
one
of
our
our
new
commissioners
have
the
desire
to
help
organize
our
participation
at
community
events,
and
please
you
know,
let
us
know
and
we'll
get
you
plugged
in
right
away.
I
don't
think
we're
missing
any
community
events,
it's
just
they.
They
tend
to
start
popping
up
actually
in
november.
Typically,
so
any
questions
on
committee
assignments.
G
Actually,
I'd
love
to
help
out
with
the
community
engagements
and
the
calendar.
C
Yeah
sweet
is
anybody
else
want
to
run
in
on
competition
with
commissioner
ramrod.
We
usually
don't
have
a
bunch
of
people
wanting
to
do
that
one.
So
that's
excellent
and
I'll
I'll
follow
up
with
you
on
that
and
just
review
a
little
more
specifically,
but
thank
you.
D
And
and
ron,
if
harold
wants
to,
I
get
going
on
that
budget
and
looking
for
what
can
be
reduced,
I
I
I
can
help
you
with
that.
C
Okay,
all
right,
so
that
we'll
leave
the
two
of
you
to
go
forward
with
that
budget.
Thank
you
for
stepping
up
there
any
other
questions
or
on
on
our
assignments.
I
appreciate
both
of
you
stepping
up
and
wanting
to
to
move
forward.
C
And
again
my
apologies
to
the
committee
are
the
new
commissioners
on
onboarding.
I
I
was
just
looking
at
the
wrong
document,
so
we'll
get
that
fixed.
Okay,
I'm
going
back
to
eight
item.
Eight
youth,
education
and
affairs
committee.
C
D
Well,
I'm
just
excited
that
solange
is
here
and-
and
I
I
I
can
guide
her
solange,
I'm
just
go
going
to
put
my
contact
in
the
chat
because
anybody
on
on
the
team
can
have
it.
D
But
please
give
me
a
call
if
you
just
even
just
have
questions
about
about
how
this
meeting
has
even
gone.
C
Yeah,
so
thank
you
so
the
what?
What
does
this
committee
do?
In
addition
to
you
know
recruiting
our
student
representative?
Is
this
committee
specifically
works
to
develop
educational
programs,
community
forms
concerning
the
affected
focus
group?
In
this
case
it
would
be
our
local
high
school
students
work
closely
with
school
district
staff
regarding
any
civil
human
rights
issues
on
school
campus
and
develop
strong
communications
and
liaison
with
the
palm
springs
high
school
staff
and
administration,
and
if
we
had
our
middle
school
student
or
that
the
same
thing
would
apply
to
that
school.
C
Also
so
solange
out
of
default.
You
you're
assigned
to
that
committee
with
the
vice
chair,
chapelle,
okay,.
F
D
And
and
as
ron
said,
there
is
still
a
vacancy
for
a
middle
s.
C
And
I
think
last
year
we
we
gave
some
more
definition
to
middle
school
and
we
opened
that
up
to,
I
think
any
student
attending
school
in
the
city
of
palm
springs,
so
that
included
trade
and
vocational
or
other
types
of
of
schools.
So
you
know
that
the
the
wording
would
be
on
the
city's
website
under
the
enrollment
section:
okay,
okay,
jay
did
I
I
got
what
I
missed
there.
Okay
now
now
we're
on
to.
C
Oh
big
one
communications
and
outreach
guidelines.
C
We
asked
at
the
last
meeting
for
this
to
be
put
on
the
agenda,
so
we
could
learn
from
either
representatives
within
the
communications
department
or
the
city
manager's
office
as
to
what
are
the
guidelines
for
a
commission
when
we
want
to
communicate
and
raise
awareness
of
what
the
commission
does
and
jay.
I
think
this
is
your
report.
A
Yes,
thank
you,
mr
chair.
There
are
actually
no
guidelines
per
say,
but
the
commission-
and
this
is
in
conversations
with
the
city
manager.
The
commission
is
welcome
to
submit
their
request
of
posting
items
through
social
media
or
on
the
city's
website,
and
the
city
manager
would
review
them
and
approve
it
for
the
communications
director
to
go
on
and
post
the
information
on
the
website
and
through
social
media.
This
is
pretty
much
how
we've
done
it
in
the
past,
where
I
know
one
of
the
issues.
A
Some
of
the
violence
against
asian
americans
had
been
promoted
on
the
city's
website
or
made
available
in
terms
of
the
resources
there,
and
it's
it's
the
same
thing.
So
if
there
are
specific
things
the
commission
would
like
to
have
made
available
to
the
public
pushed
out
to
the
public
through
social
media.
It
would
just
be
a
matter
of
letting
us
know
and,
and
we
would
review
it
with
the
city
manager,
for
putting
it
out
for
publication
or
posting
on
social
media
and
along
those
lines.
B
I
mean
I
I
kind
of
was
the
one
that
asked
the
question
at
the
last
meeting
about
you
know
instagram
and
things
like
that,
which
I
saw
people's
faces
kind
of
sink
a
little
bit
that
have
been
on
the
commission,
but
it
is,
I
think,
it's
clear
and
I
guess,
as
things
move
forward
and
we
start
doing
actual
activities,
it
will
be
interesting
to
see
how
that
process
goes,
but
I
definitely
think
that's
lacking
from
the
commission
in
terms
of
you
know
getting
the
name
out
there,
which
I
think
we
all
discussed
last
meeting
too
so,
but
it's.
A
Well,
nothing
really
prevents
it.
It's
the
resources
pages
like
that,
typically
have
to
be
managed.
People
will
post
things,
people
being
any
third
party.
That
would
require
somebody
to
monitor
that
page
and
provide
a
response.
A
A
So
the
only
other
thing
would
be
that,
and
this
I
had
to
say
I
have
to
check
back
with
you
on
this,
but
that
this
is
a
city
commission,
and
so
it's
would
need
to
be
run
by
the
city
manager
for
the
how
it's
presented
in
the
public.
Just
because
if
this
would
be
a
city
organization.
E
Is
it
possible
for
the
for
the
city
to
put
out
some
protocol
or
something
for
the
for
the
city
commissions
and
because
I
I
do
think
that
probably
we're
not
the
first
to
ask
this
question
and,
and
maybe
some
guidance
on
if
you
want
to
have
a
facebook
page,
this
is
the
process
or
the
procedure,
and
this
is
how
this
is
how
you
might
go
about
it.
A
I
can
definitely
bring
that
up
with
them,
which
I
did
try
to
do,
and
you
know
what
we
landed
on
was.
If
the
commission
wishes
to
post
information
and
messages
on
the
city's
web
page,
then
the
process
was,
as
I
laid
it
out
now,.
A
I
think
the
question
becomes:
where
is
the
commission
separate
from
the
city
granted?
Ultimately,
members
of
the
commission
are
appointed
by
the
city
council,
and
so
it's
it's
an
interesting
dynamic,
but
the
commission
obviously-
and
the
council
obviously
values
your
input.
D
E
You
know
I'm
thinking
about
our
personal
pages,
our
personal
facebook
accounts.
You
know,
for
instance,
back
when
we
did
the
legacy
film
project.
We
had
that
on
our
own
personal
pages,
as
well
as
the
cities,
and
you
know
I
don't
remember
any
prohibition
of
that,
and
I
also
don't
remember
any
guidance
in
terms
of
where
we
can
and
cannot
post
things
like
like
that.
B
A
A
What
it's
called
the
city
of
palm
springs
that
I
think
you
know
we
want
to
be
careful
about
what
is
being
represented
as
the
views
of
the
city
of
palm
springs,
which
is
usually
the
five
city
council
members
positions.
So
this
could
definitely
be
you
know
in
this
case
the
palm
springs
human
rights
commission.
But
again
you
know,
there's.
E
A
E
Yeah
yeah,
okay,
because
I
think
in
the
in
the
interest
of
urgency
that
it
if
we
had
something
that
we
wanted
to
put
out
quickly
if
we
had
to
get
it,
you
know
through
our
process
and
then
presented
to
the
city
manager
and
then
reviewed
by
the
communications
director.
I
could
see
it
being.
You
know
just
completely
outdated
information
by
that
time.
E
C
So
I
think
our
takeaway
in
in
this
moment
is
that
as
we
are,
if
we're
working
on
a
project
or
there's
something
coming
up,
and
we
want
to
get
raise
awareness
and
get
the
word
out,
we
need
to
build
into
the
timeline
an
extra
seven
to
ten
days.
Maybe
so
it
could
be
sent
through
an
approval
process
and
get
the
thumbs
up
and
then
and
then
get
it
out
wherever
we're
asking
to
get
it
out.
C
C
So
we
we
did
have
some
set
language
and
there
were
established
programs
and-
and
we've
done
that
freely.
But
I
know
we've
got
there's
a
a
full
commission
now
and
there's
a
lot
of
ideas
and
great
thought
on
being
able
to
do
more
in
the
community.
Just
we
just
need
to
keep
that
in
the
back
of
our
mind
that
build
in
an
extra
week
or
two
weeks
in
your
timeline
to
allow
you
or
to
allow
for
those
for
it
to
go
through
the
process.
C
Okay,
next
up
is
the
item
d
renaming
of
streets,
and
some
of
this
work
has
already
been
done.
C
For
us,
city
council
was
took
care
of
the
renaming
of
the
street,
which
I'm
sure
everybody
on
the
commission
is
is
happy
to
see
that
lawrence
crossley
road
is
is
lawrence,
crossley
road,
so
commission
has
acted
on
that
and,
and
that
is
in
effect,
so
that
leaves
us
with
the
requests
that
that
came
before
covet
hit
in
march,
and
that
was
there
was
specifics
on
renaming
of
streets
and
and
looking
at
establishing
a
street
for
martin
luther
king
jr
harvey
milk
and
barack
obama.
C
So
next
steps
here
would
be
that
we
would
form
a
subcommittee
and
that
you
know
the
subcommittee
can
work
on
this
project
and
you
know
get
more
direction.
You
know
from
city,
council
and-
and
you
know,
begin
the
process
of
investigating
the
opportunities
of
you
know,
naming
these
streets.
B
C
C
And
we're
supposed
to
update
the
city,
clerk
and
cindy
curran's
with
any
developments.
A
You
know,
one
thing
might
be
helpful
is
to
get
a
sense
of
which
streets
you
would
target
for
these
particular
names,
and
I'm
only
bringing
that
I
haven't
heard
mr
chair
any
specific
directions
and
it
seems
to
be
moving
in
parallel
with
city
manager's
office,
who
is
ms
cairns
and
this
commission.
So
I
think
this
commission
has
recommendations
on
the
streets
and
maybe
knowledge
of
some
of
the
history
and
reasoning
as
to
why
those
streets
would
be
identified
or
renamed
for
those
specific
individuals
would
be
helpful.
A
I
think
the
council
would
appreciate
that
bit
of
research
and
the
recommendations,
but
I
will
let
them
know.
Commissioner
owens
and
ramaran
will
be
working
to
come
up
with
these
recommendations
and
process
wise.
We
may
have
to
recruit
something
from
the
engineering
department
as
to
how
to
actually
affect
the
street
name
changes.
C
Okay,
thank
you
so
to
our
romeron
and
commissioner
owen
stand
by
we'll
try
to
get
some
more
information
and
background
to
you.
So
you
can
start
the
process
of
investigation.
Okay.
C
Item
e
was
asked
to
be
put
on
the
agenda
and
I
think
this
belonged
to
commissioner
shepard
request
to
discuss
change.org's
petition
to
relocate
the
frank
bogart
statue
and
commissioner
shepard.
Do
we
have
any
any
comment
on
that.
D
I
think
it's
more
of
a
question
than
a
comment.
I
had
heard
that
this
petition
was
out
there
and
I
was
wondering
if
there
was
any
action
being
taken
on
it
or
if
there's
any
city
council
interest
in
the
subject,
just
kind
of
want
to
know
where
we
are
with
that.
And
if
it's
something
that
you
know
needs
one
of
us
to.
D
Needs
one
of
us
to
get
behind
excuse
my
granddaughter.
There
needs
one
of
us
to
get
behind
or
kind
of
where
we
are
on
it.
C
So
jay,
can
I
ask
your
your
guidance?
I
I
know,
or
I
believe
that
this
is
a
topic.
That's
on
the
the
wish
list
to
discuss
at
council
at
some
date
in
the
future.
A
I
believe
you're
correct
mr
chair.
I
know
they've
planned
to
discuss
it
and
hear
about
it
more
through
the
two
listening
sessions
the
council's
already
had,
but
you
know,
there's
yeah.
It
seems
we
got
a
crisis
every
month
that
you
know
the
council
has
to
deal
with.
But,
as
you
say,
it's
it's
on
their
list
of
items
to
still.
G
G
The
the
public
arts
commission
has
actually
dealt
with
this
as
well,
so
this
is
something
that
has
actually
come
up
to
another
commission
before
this
is
actually
a
history
of
that.
So
this
is
a
new
petition
in
that
that's
that's
to
to
move
or-
and
I
think
the
conversation
to
be.
G
To
be
frank,
I
think
there
you
know
there
is
a
conversation
of
it
possibly
coming
out
of
the
other
commission
as
well,
and
I
think
it
is
kind
of
nice
that
we
do
talk
about
it
here
as
the
human
rights
commission,
but
I
know
that
the
public
arts
commission
has
been
approached
in
the
past
and
I
think
that
may
be
one
of
the
avenues.
If
that
sort
of
answers,
your
question
about
that.
C
So,
commissioner,
shepard,
can
I
suggest
that
maybe,
if
you
could
reach
reach
out
to
the
arts
commission
and
see
where
they
are
with
it
and
and
depending
on
where
they're
at
with
this
process-
and
you
can
bring
us
back
an
update,
perhaps
the
human
rights
commission
can
join
with
them
on
the
recommendation
that
they
may
be
making?
Or
you
know,
let's
just
learn
what
they're,
where
they're
at
in
the
process.
D
And
is
there
contact
information
on
the
city
website
as
well.
A
I'm
the
liaison
for
human
right
for
public
arts,
also,
commissioner
shepard,
so
that
would
not
be
a
problem,
but
what
I
can
tell
you
is
prior
to
my
employment
here
with
the
city
of
palm
springs.
I
believe
it
was
considered,
but
it
was
not
pursued
after
public
testimony
was
provided.
So
that's
last.
I've
heard
of
it
and
it
has
not
come
up
again
on
the
public
arts
commission's
agendas.
D
Okay,
well,
that
kind
of
gives
us
our
update,
then,
and
if
it's
a
you
know,
if
it's
a
dead
issue
at
this
point,
I
feel
like
we
have
plenty
of
important
things
to
work
on.
I
would
like
to
see
that
statue
removed,
but
I
don't
think
it's
one
of
the
top
priorities
that
I
see
on
this
list
of
of
issues
going
forward.
D
G
Of
course,
that,
commissioner,
it's
actually
with
the
city
council
now-
and
I
think
that's
where,
if
that's
correct,
mr
varada,
I
believe
it
is
with
city
council,
so
it
doesn't.
You
know
it
may
not
need
to
go
through
a
commission.
So
hopefully
this
conversation,
which
I
appreciate
your
opinion,
because
I
agree
with
you,
but
I
want
I
want
to
see
that
this
we
do
this
in
the
most
delicate
non-sensitive
way
as
well.
I
think
that's
one
of
the
things
that's
happening,
I
think
there's
because
it's
become
divisive.
G
We
need
to
find
that
sort
of
level
of
healing
and
one
of
the
questions
in
the
conversation
around
the
it's
not
just
about
the
sculpture.
We
all
know
that
it's
actually
about
the
history
of
section
14
and
the
the
segregation
of
our
city
in
in
the
cities,
so
there's
a
whole
bunch
of
things
that
we
can
address
as
a
as
a
human
rights
commission,
and
I
think
it's
very
much
you
know
rolled
up
in
what
you're
talking
about
and
I'm
glad
to
hear
that.
Thank
you.
D
Well,
it
is,
and
a
lot
of
the
problems
that
we're
dealing
with
in
our
neighborhoods
right
now
are
you
know,
as
a
result
of
some
of
the
things
that
happened
during
section
14,
and
you
know
I
do
not
know
the
history
of
mr
bogart
as
well
voguered
as
well
as
I
should,
but
it
just
seems
to
me
like
we
need
to
be
sensitive,
obviously
to
his
family
and
both
sides
of
the
issues,
but
might
be
a
good
thing
to
to
address
as
soon
as
possible
glad
to
hear
it's
on
the
council's
agenda.
C
But
it's
not
a
foregone
agenda
item.
It's
it's
on
a
wish
list,
yeah
of
items
to
address
okay,
okay,
so
I
I
but
I
think,
maybe
you
know
and
jay
if
you
can
give
us
some
guidance
here,
even
if
it's
an
item
for
the
council
to
adjust
address
in
the
future,
perhaps
we
should
reach
out
to
our
council
liaison
and
and
get
some
input
and
guidance,
and
is
there
anything
that
the
commission
can
do
to
support
this
date
in
the
future
agenda
item
that
may
go
forward
to
council?
C
A
A
However,
it
would
most
likely
end
up
having
to
be
a
full
city
council
decision
at
the
point
where
it
does
get
to
the
city
council.
D
And
can
you
tell
me
again
if
I
I
miss
this
someplace
but
which,
which
council
member
is
our
liaison.
A
A
Yes,
I
believe
we've
got
mayor,
pro-tem,
holstage.
A
Double
check
the
you
know,
the
the
I
know,
commissioner
hostage
has
brought
up
human
rights
commission
quite
a
bit,
particularly
in
these
times,
so
I
I
will
double
check.
C
Okay,
item
f,
we're
on
topical
or
newsworthy
items.
If
there's
any
items
of
the
day
that
newsworthy
items
that
you
would
like
to
share,
this
is
the
time
to
do
it.
Just
raise
your
hand
if
you've
got
something
that
you
would
like
to
share
with
the
group.
E
Question
yes
back
to
your
announcement
about
the
the
under
reporting,
the
census
reporting
the
communities
that
have
been
identified
as
under
reporting.
Is
there
something
that
we
could
do
to
increase
that?
I
mean
I'm
sure
that
they're
probably
knocking
on
doors
and
sending
the
the
workers
there.
But
when
you
report
that
it
I
felt
like-
and
I
saw
your
little
video
that
you
did
as
well-
I
felt
like.
Maybe
there
was
a
role
to
to
play
to
increase
that
participation,
because
you
know
the
communities
were
talking
about.
E
C
Yeah
yeah!
Well
it
just
in
coincidence.
Now,
commissioner
ramaran
and
myself
both
are
on
the
city's
census
task
force
committee.
You
know
separate,
and
apart
from
our
service
on
the
human
rights
commission,
were
members
of
that
task,
force
and
and
and
there's
quite
a
few
layers
of
activities
happening
within
the
community.
Now,
a
lot
of
media
outreach
is
happening
now,
and
one
thing
that
every
single
person
on
the
call
today
can
do
is
post.
C
That
short
video
that
encourages
everybody
to
complete
the
census
at
before
the
end
of
september
and
and
just
encourage
everyone
in
in
palm
springs
to
do
it.
If
they
haven't,
do
done
it.
So
that's
a
great
way
that
you
could
reach
out
to
your
own
sphere
of
influence
and
and
and
let
them
know
that
hey.
This
is
something
that
we
really
encourage
you
to
take
a
few
minutes,
and,
and
do
you
know
soon,
there
is
also
a
caravan
that's
happening
on,
commissioner.
C
Is
it
wednesday
thursday,
yes
yeah
wednesday?
So
if,
if
you
wanted
to
participate
in
in
the
caravan
that
will
be
going
through
all
of
our
districts,
just
to
raise
awareness,
you
certainly
could
participate
with
other
members
of
city
council
and
a
lot
of
city
staff
is
participating
and
members
of
the
task
force.
So
that's
that's
something
that,
if
you're
available
on
wednesday
to
report
to
the
library
parking
lot
at
5
p.m.
C
Is
that
right,
I
believe,
yeah,
but
you
can,
if
you
want
to,
if
you're
in,
if
you
are
interested,
send
me
an
email
and
I'll
connect
you
to
denise,
goolsbee
and
and
she'll
she'll
hook.
You
up.
C
No
just
go
to
my
website
and
see
what
you
see
what
I
did
or
not
my
website,
the
page,
the
facebook
and
and
just
see
what
I
did
and
that's
all
you.
That's
really.
You
just
encourage
hey
friends,
it's
time
to
do
the
census
if
you
haven't
completed
your
census,
yet
you
know:
go
on
go
online
to
my
my2020census.gov
and
complete
your
census.
Today,.
E
G
G
If
you
will-
and
I'm
so
happy
to
report
as
well
in
conjunction
with
the
the
outreach
that
is
going
to
be
this
caravan,
that
the
materials
that
that
are
being
produced
by
the
city
are
also
bilingual,
and
actually
we
have
spanish
video
as
well
as
spanish
language
materials
that
are
being
handed
out
to
our
residents
and
we
also
were
able
to
work
on
a
third
language.
So
I'm
very
happy
to
report
that
tagalog
is
also,
which
is
a
sort
of
a
main
filipino
language,
is
being
used
also
in
some
of
the
printed
materials.
G
I'm
excited
about
that
just
to
give
a
little
sense
of
how
you
know
how
we're
involved
as
well
on
that
on
that
level.
C
Didn't
we
we
were
supposed
to
review
our
our
meeting
schedule
weren't,
we
jay.
C
So
our
our
october
meeting
is
actually
scheduled
on
native
american
day,
which
is
a
day
that
some
businesses
are
closed.
C
I
don't
know
if
we've
gone
up
against,
I
think
we
had
veterans
day
one
time
and
we
moved
it.
But
I
don't
I
don't
recall
native
american
day
so
jay
what
what
day,
what's
happening
with
other?
Are
there
other
commissions
that
are
on
monday
that
are
shifting.
A
No,
as
you
will
recall,
all
the
commissions
had
to
compete
for
time
in
the
large
conference
room,
but
now
that
we
are
virtual,
I
was
there's
a
lot
more
flexibility,
so
one
practice
I
was
told,
was
just
going
to
the
following
monday
to
hold
a
meeting.
If
that
was
the
desire
of
the
commission
or
any
other
day
where
commissioners
would
be
available,
for
that,
the
one
stipulation
would
be.
The
council
has
wanted
to
have
these
meetings
held
at
5
30
p.m.
A
So
I
think
we
would
work
with
that,
also
in
terms
of
being
5
30
p.m.
C
Yeah,
okay,
thank
you
so
and
city
hall
is
closed,
so
we
don't
have
staff
support.
You
know
with
the
city
hall,
so.
C
It
it's
just
we're
holding
the
meeting
on
it.
Do
we
hold
the
meeting
on
that
date
or
not.
A
Yes,
it
is
out
of
respect
for
the
celebration
of
indigenous
people's
day.
C
Yeah,
okay,
any
other
desire
to
shift
the
date.
B
G
A
Hard
to
say,
you
know
we
when
the
policies
come
up
and
and
the
days
that
are
changed.
Sometimes
these
are
labor
union
contract
negotiations
on
which
days
are
taken
off,
and
so
they
it
it
could
be
tied
to
any
number
of
things.
E
Yeah,
I
think
we
should
take
the
opportunity
to
do
our
own
little
honorary
thing
on
on
that
day
since
it,
if,
if
the
city's,
open
and
and
we're
available,
then
we
meet
and
we
we
you
know,
we
give
that
respect
by
honoring
with
whether
we
do
a
proclamation
or
a
little
history
or
whatever
we
choose
to
do.
C
So
there's
we've
gone
back
and
forth
on
this
over
the
years
and
when,
with
regard
to
the
proclamation
and
I
believe
last
year,
the
proclamation
was
led
by
members
of
the
kumiya
tribe
and
it
came
out
of
tribal
council's
offices
to
establish
the
proclamation
and
to
request
the
proclamation
from
city
council
and
and
that's
that's,
been
the
way
that
it's
happened
off
and
on
for
some
time
and
when
it
hasn't
been
led
by
the
tribe.
There's
been
some
kickback
as
to.
Why
are
non-tribal
members?
C
C
C
Jay,
have
you
heard
anything?
Is
there
anything
that
you're
aware
of
for
a
proclamation
that's
already
moving
through
the
channels.
A
D
E
B
C
Okay,
so
I
think
we
have
a
couple
people
that
have
voiced
their
their
opinion
to
shift
the
meeting
date
and
a
couple
people
have
voiced
their
opinion
to
keep
the
meeting
date.
G
E
I
think
it's
a
you
know,
one
of
those
nationally
recognized
holidays
that
we
have
a
list
of,
but
I
don't
believe
that
it's
a
federal
federally
observed
holiday.
A
I'm
sorry
it
is
not
a
city
hall
holiday.
I
can
tell
you
that
as
to
federal
and
state
I
I
do
not
know.
I
know
it
used
to
be,
but
given
some
of
the
changes
that
happened
columbus
day
was
downgraded.
C
So
it's
I
just
looked
it
up.
It
says,
though
it
is
one
of
the.
C
States
columbus
day
or
indigenous
people's
day,
as
it
has
been
renamed
in
los
angeles,
county
and
other
parts
of
california,
isn't
always
celebrated
with
a
day
off.
Some
offices
and
programs
are
closed,
while
others
remain
open.
G
B
C
So
if
we
rescheduled
and
it's
not
a
postponement,
but
if
we
rescheduled
it
would
be
rescheduled
for
the
following
monday
jay,
the
19th.
C
Okay,
how
about
and
look
at
rescheduling
for
tuesday,
the
13th.
C
Since
we've
got
different
opinions,
all
those
in
favor
of
moving
our
scheduled
meeting
for
october
12th
to
october
13,
5
30
pm.
C
C
So
I
think
that
was
four
to
three
are
abstain,
gotcha,
so
we've
got
enough
votes
to
change
it
for
the
13th
at
5,
30.
C
C
C
And
and
public
comment
it
was
noted
requested
that
we
acknowledge
international
migrants
day
and
I'm
not
sure
we
already
don't
have
that
on
our
schedule.
Commissioner,
andrade,
that's
a
do
you
happen
to
have
the
schedule
handy,
I
I
couldn't
find
it
in
my.
I
have.
E
It
in
front
of
me,
but
I
will
look
and
see
what
I
I
think
we
do.
I
think
we.
C
Do
so
it
may
be
one
of
the
one
of
the
u.n
dates
that
we've
already
designated
so
we'll
check
on
that
craig
if
you're
still,
oh,
you
are
online.
So
thank
you
for
that,
and
and
if,
if
not
it's,
we
we
have
time
to
to
bring
it
forward
next
next
month.
So
and
I
think
that
was
it
jay
did
you
have
any
other
items
or
commission
other
commissioners.
C
A
C
All
right,
excellent!
Well
as
as
we
adjourn
today,
I
would
like
to
take
the
time
to
adjourn
in
honor
and
memory
of
one
of
the
founders
of
the
human
rights
commission
who
passed
away
just
this
past
week.
C
Joseph
herwitz,
you
know,
is
a
well-known
rabbi
in
palm
springs
and
a
decades-long
community
leader
and
activist
here
in
palm
springs,
and
and
did
so
much
good
for
our
community
and
and
he
he
he
died
at
the
age
of
91.,
the
other,
the
other
one
that
hasn't
gotten
as
much
attention
in
the
community
and-
and
I
would
like
to
bring
attention
to
it
is
you
know
one
one
of
the
first
black
men
to
join
the
marines.
C
You
know
died
earlier
this
month
and
was
a
resident
of
palm
springs
joseph
beaver,
and
not
only
was
he
a
resident
of
palm
springs.
He
was
an
active
leader
within
our
community
for
many
many
years
he
was
a
congressional
gold
medal
honoree
and
was
the
founder
of
the
black
historical
and
cultural
society
of
coachella
valley,
and
he
served
as
the
chairman
emeritus
of
the
coachella
valley,
martin
luther
king
jr,
commemorative
commemoration
committee.
C
So
as
a
human
rights,
human,
humanitarian
and
civil
rights
activist
for
both
of
these
gentlemen
and
for
their
long
life
of
service,
I'd
like
to
adjourn
in
the
name
of
joseph
hurwitz
and
joseph.
