Description
Historic Advisory Board Meeting 04-28-2022
A
B
B
B
B
B
Morning
so
david
before
we
get
started
I'll,
just
tell
you,
the
head
of
team
ponta
gorda
had
her
knee
replaced.
Okay,
so
I
spoke
to
both
her
and
the
community
relations
manager
from
the
foundation
they're
going
to
do
put
the
meeting
together
for
may
so,
okay
and
they
had
the
list
of
the
invitees.
So,
okay
still
still
coming.
Okay,.
A
B
A
B
Good
morning
this
is
the
april
28
2022
meeting
of
the
historic
preservation
advisory
board.
Will
the
clerk
do
a
roll
call?
Please.
A
D
E
D
All
right,
so
everyone
is
aware
the
july
28th
meeting
will
be
cancelled
because
it
will
need
to
use
that
time
frame
to
transfer
everything
over
to
the
military
heritage
museum,
because
starting
august
25th
we
will
or
that
meeting
we
will
start
having
meetings
commenced
there
and
then
so.
D
The
meetings
dates
will
stay
the
same,
but
they'll
just
be
held
at
the
military
heritage
museum
and
then
the
2023
dates
were
included
just
to
make
you
guys
aware
and
if
we
could
get
approval
for
it,
just
because
we
have
to
give
those
dates
to
the
military
heritage
museum
and
we
can't
change
them
after
so
we
can
cancel
them,
but
they
just
cannot
be
rescheduled.
A
B
All
in
favor
aye
cash
is
unanimously.
Thank
you
all
right.
Thank
you
guys.
Okay,
our
next
meeting
is
may
26
2022
and
it
will
be
in
this
room
now.
Anyone
wishing
to
address
the
historic
preservation
advisory
board
on
any
subject
may
do
so.
At
this
point,
please
come
to
the
podium
to
the
right
state,
your
name
for
the
record.
You
have
three
minutes.
E
E
We
did
several
projects,
I
think,
with
our
garden
club
that
had
to
do
with
historical
preservation
in
our
town,
which
was
munson
massachusetts.
So
I'm
very
interested-
and
I
love
this
town-
I'm
here
for
we've-
been
down
here
for
five
years,
but
in
pgi
for
two
years.
I
think
there's
a
lot
of
exciting
things
going
on
an
opportunity
and
I
think
this
board
is
really
important.
So
I'm
happy
to
be
an
alternative
or
an
alternate.
I'm
sorry
and
being
here
is
needed
so
and
well.
B
A
A
B
All
right
minutes
passes
unanimously
and
next
turning
over
to
staff
for
the
certificates
of
appropriateness
good
morning
good
morning.
Oh,
what
happened.
F
F
F
All
right-
that's
ca05,
2022,
124,
gilchrist
street.
That's
going
to
be
hurricane
shutters
on
this
one.
They
proposed
to
install
on
two
windows,
just
finishing
up
their
hurricane
shutters
and
getting
all
their
windows
covered
at
that
point,
would
like
same
materials
and
equipment.
F
F
F
So
that's
pretty
much
it
on
that
and
then
finally,
we
got
ca092022
461
west
marion
avenue,
that's
going
to
be
a
re-roof,
but
this
is
going
to
be
on
the
accessory
structure.
So
in
the
back
it's
kind
of
hard
to
see,
but
that's
a
shingle
roof
there
they're
going
to
replace
it
with
a
metal
roof
same
color,
same
style
of
metal
roof.
So
it's
going
to
be
same
across
the
board.
F
It's
a
looks
like
it's
a
two-story.
I
think
it's
like.
F
C
The
for
the
record
mitchell
austin
urban
design,
so
this
this
property
at
461,
west
marion
avenue,
is
an
existing
non-conformity.
The
primary
structure
was
built
as
a
single
family
home.
It
actually
has
three
resident
through
dwellings
in
it,
and
the
accessory
structure
in
the
back
was
originally
constructed
as
a
as
a
garage
with
an
accessory
dwelling
on
the
second
floor,
and
I
believe
that
the
the
garage
space
has
been
enclosed
and
it's
a
it's
habitable
space.
I'm
not
sure
it's
an
additional
unit,
but
it's
actually
a
quadruplex
on
at
this
point.
C
Our
pentaplex
on
on
this
originally
a
historic
single
family
home.
The
property
is
well
maintained.
A
Yeah
please
so
the
primary
dwelling
initially
was
the
structure
to
the
right
with
the
the
railing
coming
down.
C
It
was
initially
this
house,
so
the
the
the
primary
is
actually
this
and
then
this
portion
was
added
and
then
on
the
other
side
of
the
house,
there's
another
little
portion
that
was
added.
So
the
there's
two
small,
like
one
bedroom
sort
of
efficiency
dwellings,
and
then
the
primary
house
is
like
a
two
bedroom
one
bath.
C
Yeah,
there's
an
alleyway
back
here
and
there's
the
originally
a
house
next
door.
It's
actually
a
duplex
that
house
and
these
five
units
I'll
share
the
parking
there,
as
well
as
parking
on
guild
street.
B
F
So
we
can
go
right
to
staff
comments,
okay,
I'll
bring
that
up
for
you
here
all
right.
So
what
we
have
here
is
some
updates
for
you
on
the
fertilizer
plant,
historic
marker,
historic
marker,
I'm
sorry
and
then
land
development
regulations,
ldr
article
three,
so
the
fertilizer
plant,
historic
marker,
it
was
an
adidas
gift
from
charlotte
county,
historical
society
and
plaque
was
installed
in
front
of
the
ponte
gorda
boat
club.
As
you
can
see
there
on
the
map
on
the
left,
it's
location
with
the
star
and
then
the
plaque
itself
on
the
right.
F
Trebu
historic
marker
there's
two
of
them.
First,
one
here
is
in
lashley
park
and
you
can
see
it
there
right
next
to
miami
trail
at
the
star
and
then
the
next
one
was
installed
at
gilchrist
park
and
it's
right
there
at
the
end
of
harvey
street
at
the
end
of
the
cul-de-sac
and
or
the
turnaround.
If
you
will
and
those
are
the
locations
of
both
really
good.
C
Yes,
so
again
for
the
record
mitchell
lawson,
the
the
city
is
going
to
schedule
like
a
a
ribbon
cutting
and
a
renaming.
But
we
have
to
do
a
resolution
for
city
council
to
officially
rename
the
harborwalk
the
tribute
harbor
walk
for
the
terms
of
the
settlement
agreement
and
and
have
that
ceremony
so
that
that
that
hasn't
been
scheduled.
Yet.
C
No,
it
does
not.
This
is
located
in
the
phase
one
area,
so
there's
no
construction
activity
on
this
side
of
the
park,
so
we
can
schedule
at
any
time
it's
just
a
question
with
the
city
clerk's
office,
relocating
out
of
this
facility
and
the
new
facility
that
there
was
just
too
much
going
on
to
get
this
done.
Concurrent
with
this
project
actually
being
done
so
we'll
take
care
of
it,
hopefully,
within
the
next
month
or
two.
B
Well
again,
I
think
enough
has
gone
into
this
project
with
involvement
from
this
board
in
the
history
center.
You
know
I'd
really
like
the
city
to
take
that
opportunity
to
get
some
credit
for
it
and
it's
interesting.
Yes,
so
I
think
it
would
be
good
to
keep
us
in
the
loop
as
to
when
this
might
occur.
Certainly.
B
Project,
but
you
know
it's
great
to
see
that
it's
happened,
yes,
which
reminds
me
what
about
that
collier
bridge
thing?
What
do
we.
C
So
the
collier
bridge
plaque,
which
was
a
a
dedication
plaque
for
the
original
1931
baron
collier
bridge.
It
was
donated
to
the
city
by
a
citizen
who
had
found
it
on
the
side
of
the
road
and
kept
it
in
their
garage
for
40
years,
which
is
great
because
it
preserved
it.
It
otherwise
would
have
gone
to
the
smelter,
and
you
know
it
would
be
no
more.
C
What
we
need
to
develop
is
actually
a
history
of
the
bridges
across
the
harbor,
so
a
plaque
about
the
history
of
the
bridges
to
provide
context
for
the
bridge.
Dedication
plaque
and
the
city
is
committed
to
installing
that,
but
that,
with
everything
else,
that's
going
on
and
being
short
staffed.
The
the
city
staff
has
not
pursued
that
as
as
heavily
as
we
should
have,
but
I
think
maybe
the
the
board,
with
the
growing
contacts
with
all
of
the
other
historic
organizations.
C
Take
that
up,
okay,
that
would
that
would
be
fantastic.
I
do
know
that
jennifer
zoblin,
the
the
county
historian,
had
prepared
some
information
regarding
the
history
of
the
bridges
for
some
other
project
that
she
was
working
with
for
the
centennial.
So
there
may
already
be
some
source
material
and
you
can
just
tweak
it
well.
B
B
C
A
I
just
have
a
quick
question:
fertilizer
plant
historic
marker
is
that
put
in
by
the
county
right.
Am
I
correct?
Is
it
the
county,
historical
I'm.
A
C
B
C
Of
this
board
subset
of
this
board,
yes,
and
that
that
went
through
the
process,
so
it
was
donated
by
someone
else.
They
procured
it
and
had
it
installed.
So
I
don't
have
any
details
of
like
like
how
much
it
cost
or
where
they
got
it
from
or
all
those
types
of
things,
but
that's
that
was
the
approval
process
for
it.
Okay,
thank
you.
Yes,
all
right.
F
And
lastly,
just
the
land
development
regulations
update
ldr
article
three
has
already
been
brought
forward.
Coming
up,
we're
gonna
have
article
seven
discussion
as
well
as
all
other
articles,
it's
more
of
a
summation
of
what
we're
planning
to
do
with
that
and
given
more
detail
later
and
follow-on
presentations
for
those
all
other
articles.
But
article
seven
will
be
the
next
more
detailed
presentation.
That's
coming
up.
A
C
Yeah
again
because
of
the
city
clerk's
office,
move,
I
think
that
that's
been
a
little,
it's
been
a
little
chaotic
for
them.
I
can't
imagine
trying
to
move
my
office
and
theirs
is
all
about
records
and
stuff.
So
yeah,
it's
it.
They've
had
a
rough
month,
so
they're
still
playing
catch-up.
A
Take
a
look
at
the
concept
of
the
history
walk
at
ponce
de
leon
park,
as
well
as
the
additional
materials,
the
slides,
the
executive
summary
to
get
her
feedback
both
on
the
idea
and
on
the
ancillary
materials
that
we
may
be
presenting
sometime
in
the
future
and
we're
at
the
beginning
stages
now
seeking
feedback
from
other
historical
organizations.
So
it's
the
start
of
the
process
and
it'll
keep
you
advised
the
kind
of
feedback
we
get
back
from
these
different
organizations.
B
And
I'll
just
repeat
this
for
the
record,
because
I've
already
spoken
to
david,
the
group
that
we
talked
about
pulling
together
the
various
history
organizations
to
think
about
how
we
could
support
the
city
in
the
refurbishment
of
the
ac
freeman
house.
It's
still
on
track
to
meet.
There
have
been
some
health
issues
that
sort
of
got
in
the
way
of
scheduling
and
also,
I
think,
mitchell
felt
that
you
know
we
didn't
have
to
rush
into
this
because
of
the
timing
with
where
they
are
on
the
freeman
house
per
se.
B
But
I
think
you
did
get
your
grant
right.
You
were
approved,
or
is
the
governor
signed
it
you're
on
the
list
right.
C
Yes,
so
just
a
quick
update
on
the
the
ac
freeman
house-
yes,
we,
the
the
legislature,
approved
the
budget.
To
this
point.
The
governor
hasn't
vetoed
any
specific
line
items
until
july
1st.
We
won't
know
for
sure,
because
the
the
governor
has
the
authority
to
line
item
veto
any
item
in
the
budget,
so.
C
C
C
They
were
tasked
with
with
getting
the
building
relisted
on
the
national
register
of
historic
places,
because
its
designation
fell
off
when
it
was
relocated
to
the
to
the
site.
Here
they
received
comments
back
from
the
state
office
and
based
on
those
comments.
They
had
to
pull
the
application
and
we'll
be
resubmitting
it
again.
In
august,
there
are
some
like
historical
details
related
to
people
places,
history
of
of
the
building
that
are
outside
of
what
the
city
knows.
So
we
will
probably
be
reaching
out
to
the
historical.
C
And
others
to
to
uncover
that
information
over
the
next
month
the
application
deadline
is
june
5th
and
then
the
meeting
for
that
application
will
be
in
august.
So
we
will
not
know
about
the
re
relisting
of
the
structure
until
late
summer.
B
Okay,
good
well!
In
any
event,
though,
I've
talked
to
both
of
the
principals
who
are
responsible
for
organizing
this
meeting
and
they
do
intend
to
get
it
done.
So
it's
it's
like
everything
else
it
takes
a
while,
but
they
are
committed
to
having
that
initial
meeting
so
we'll
all
stay
tuned.
B
Okay.
At
this
point,
I
don't
believe
there's
anyone
here
for
public
comment
at
the
conclusion
of
the
meeting.
B
Okay,
with
that
do
we
have
any
board
comments.
Beth.
