A
Hi
and
welcome-
I
am
so
excited
to
be
here
for
black
history
month.
Black
history
is
american
history
all
year
long
and
I'm
happy
that
we
get
to
celebrate
together.
Well
today,
I
have
a
song
to
teach
you
that
comes
from
south
africa
and
I
have
a
story
to
teach
you
that
comes
from
east
africa.
Now,
let
me
show
you
on
the
map.
Okay
right
here
is
the
continent
of
africa.
A
A
B
A
C
A
A
A
A
A
Well,
all
over
the
world.
People
really
really
feel
sad.
If
there's
no
water,
because
their
plants
die
their
food
dies,
there's
nothing
grows.
So,
in
a
lot
of
cultures,
people
will
do
different
things
to
ask
the
water
to
come.
They
might
dance
or
sing
yeah.
Well,
this
song
comes
from
south
africa
and
this
is
a
chant.
It's
actually
a
chant,
it's
a
little
song
and
it's
to
make
the
rain
come
yeah,
so
I'm
gonna
teach
it
to
you.
It's
very
easy.
I'm
gonna
say
it
first
and
you'll
say
it
back
to
me
all
right.
A
A
A
C
C
A
Well,
this
is
a
story
that
comes
from
east
africa,
the
country
of
kenya
and
it's
about
a
drought
a
long
time
ago.
The
animals
were
very
happy.
They
did
not
fuss
or
fight,
they
had
everything
they
needed.
They
had
lots
of
food
to
eat,
but
then
the
rain
stopped
raining.
It
didn't
come
for
four
days.
There
was
no
rain.
B
A
B
A
A
And
so
every
day
one
of
the
animals
would
go
out
through
the
forest
and
they
would
search
and
search
to
see
if
they
could
find
something
to
eat,
to
share
with
the
other
animals,
and
they
had
no
luck
until
one
day
elephant
was
lumbering
through
the
forest.
When
he
came
upon
a
humongous
gigantic
tree.
A
This
was
not
just
any
tree.
It
was
a
magic
fruit
tree.
It
had
all
kinds
of
fruit
growing
on
it.
What
kind
of
fruit
was
growing
on
that
tree?
What'd,
you
say:
mangoes,
bananas,
peaches,
apples,
grapes,
watermelons,
pineapples,
yep,
every
fruit
you
can
think
of
was
growing
on
that
one
tree
and
elephant
said.
B
A
And
so
all
the
animals
followed
elephant
through
the
forest
and
there
they
stood
looking
up
at
all
of
that
delicious
fruit.
Oh
their
mouths
were
watering,
their
stomachs
were
growling.
They
said,
oh
elephant,
you
found
the
tree,
you
get
some
fruit,
first,
you
eat
and
then,
when
it
won't
eat
and
as
elephant
walked
up
towards
the
tree
and
got
closer,
he
said
because
wrapped
around
and
around
and
around
that
tree
was
a
snake,
a
gigantic
snake.
An
elephant
couldn't
get
close
to
the
tree.
To
reach
the
fruit.
The
snake
said.
A
We
we're
hungry,
there's
no
food,
we
just
want
some
fruit.
Could
you
could
you
move
so
we
can
get
some
fruit
and
the
snake
said.
A
Tree
and
then
you
can
get
rid
of
me,
an
elephant
said
the
name
of
the
tree.
I
don't,
I
don't
know
the
name
of
the
tree.
How
can
how
can
we
find
out
the
name
of
the
tree
and
snake
said.
A
Said
king
lion
well,
elephant
turned
around
and
all
the
animals
said
elephant
what's
happening
and
then
elephants
said,
look
well.
All
the
animals
have
been
so
busy.
Looking
up
at
all
the
fruit
of
the
tree,
they
hadn't
even
noticed
the
snake
that
was
wrapped
around
the
trunk
of
the
tree
and
all
the
animals
said
whoo
an.
B
A
A
B
A
And
cheetah
said:
oh
okay,
I'll
go
so
cheetah
began
his
journey.
He
walked
through
the
forest
and
you
walk
through
the
forest.
He
went
up
the
hill,
he
went
down
the
hill,
he
went
through
the
valley
and
he
went
up
up
up
up
up
up
to
the
top
of
the
mountain
and
there
was
lion
lion.
Was
there
laying
in
his
lair
and
cheetah,
says.
B
Cousin,
listen,
there's
a
problem,
you
see,
we
live
on
the
other
side
and
there's
a
drought.
We
have
no
food
and
there's
a
big
magic
tree
with
fruit
on
it,
but
there's
a
big
old
snake
blocking
our
way,
and
he
said
that
you,
you
know
the
name
of
the
tree
and
we
gotta
speak
the
name
of
the
tree
so
that
we
can
get
the
fruit
and
make
the
snake
go
away.
Oh
come
on
cousin!
Please
would
you
just
tell
me
the
name.
A
A
B
A
B
A
A
B
Who
dares
to
disturb
me
again
hi.
It's
me
monkey.
Oh
monkey,
did
you
come
for
dinner?
No?
No!
No!
No!
I
came
listen,
listen,
we
got
a
problem,
there's
a
drought
and
we
need
something
to
eat
and
there's
a
magic
tree
and
there's
a
snake
around
the
tree,
and
I
know
I
know
I
just
told
cheetah
the
name
of
that
tree
yeah,
but
cheetah
forgotten.
I'm
not
gonna.
Forget
all
right
monkey.
B
A
Saw
water
dripping
through
the
rocks
and
he
followed
the
water.
There
was
a
little
trail
of
water
in
the
grass
and
then
he
saw
a
watering
hole,
a
hole
with
actual
water
in
it,
a
monkey
stopped
and
he
drank-
and
he
drank
oh,
oh
and
he
laid
in
the
water
and
he
splashed.
Oh,
he
took
a
little
bath.
Oh,
oh
so
cool
and
refreshing
and
monkey
said.
B
B
A
A
B
We
have
a
problem,
we
there's
a
tree
with
our
fruit
on
it
and
there's
a
big
snake.
I
know
about
that
tree.
I
know.
A
B
B
A
B
A
A
So
turtle
set
off
slowly
slowly,
slowly,
turtle
walk
through
the
forest
slowly
slowly,
slowly,
turtle
walk
up
the
hill
slowly
slowly,
slowly,
turtle
walk
down
the
hill
slowly
slowly,
slowly,
turtle
walked
across
the
valley
slowly
slowly
slowly.
Turtle
walked
up
up
up
up
up
to
the
top
of
the
mountain
and
lion.
Was
there
sleeping
in
his
lair.
B
Turtle
said
lion
hello,
mr
lion,
king
lion,
king
lion
says
I
can't
believe
this.
Who
is
it
who's
here?
Bothering
me
again,
it's
me
turtle.
I
just
I
just
came
to
get
the
name
of
the
magic
tree,
so
we
can
make
the
snake
move
this
fruit.
I
know
the
story,
I
know
what's
happening
down
there.
I
told
cheetah,
I
told
monkey,
and
why
are
you
here?
I
even
told
the
hair.
