Join us for an audio-visual experience featuring visual artist Osman Koc and musicians Dan Gorelick and Ollella. Live vocals and instrumentals are layered with live-coded electronic elements using a coding library called TidalCycles. All the visuals are generated in real-time and sound reactive, through a custom software instrument Osman Koc has developed.

Dan Gorelick is a Brooklyn and San Francisco based artist, developer, and creative technologist. He blends live-coding with acoustic and electronic instruments to create improvisational performances. He uses an open-source tool called TidalCycles, to create musical ideas on-the-fly. He performs and gives workshops around making music with code. He is an organizer of the live-code communities, livecodeNYC and AVClubSF.

Ellie Barber AKA Ollella's career as a musician started early, when she sang before she could talk. Trained as a classical cellist since the age of nine, the Seattle indie-folk musician merges her technical background with authoritative vocals, live-looping, and improvisation. In her music, she blends the acoustic with the contemporary, folk with pop, and tenacity with softness pulling on influences such as Feist, Jesca Hoop, and Cat Power.

Osman Koç is a creative technologist and artist who uses technology as a medium for expression and means by which to dissolve the perceived barriers between stage and audience. Guided by his curiosities, Osman's work touches many fields including cybernetics, artificial intelligence, biosensors, kinetic sculptures, reactive lighting, audiovisual performances and games with alternative physical controllers. Based in San Francisco, CA, Osman consults for a variety of agencies and brands, produces immersive installations, delivers keynotes, and performs as a live VJ.

The era of hybrid work has accelerated the move toward the cloud to run day-to-day operations in global businesses. Because of that, CISOs are more focused than ever on hybrid and cloud development systems as critical points to defend their organizations and their software products. In many cases, security teams are rapidly modernizing the security models for these systems, applying concepts like zero trust to software development and build systems, and more. In this session, GitHub CSO and SVP of Engineering, Mike Hanley will be joined by a panel of CISO's for a security conversation focused on areas like:

How security has changed as organizations move from remote to hybrid work models, and methods used to secure development systems as the software supply chain evolves in a hybrid world.
How to think about zero trust in the context of securing hybrid development systems and critical strategies to secure your organization.
How to build a cross-organizational incident response team and program that leads to productive communication channels to swiftly handle incidents.

Software has been a core driver in human progress over the past century—and that isn’t changing any time soon. At this very moment, software is powering the people and infrastructure behind all the societal, environmental, scientific, political, and cultural movements each and every one of us interact with on any given day. Stormy Peters will look at some of the people and projects that enable progress for today’s biggest humanitarian efforts—that dream up worlds our most beloved superheroes exist in, and that are looking at universes beyond our own.
