From YouTube: Support Ops - Zendesk - Deactivating Ticket Fields
Description
Jason Colyer, Support Operations Manager, takes us through how to deactivate ticket fields in Zendesk
A
Greetings
all
my
name
is
jason
carr,
I'm
the
support
operations
manager
here
at
git
lab
and
today
we're
going
to
go
over
deactivating,
a
ticket
filters
and
desk
ui.
So
let
me
share
my
screen
and
we
will
get
started
to
deactivate
a
ticket
field
you're
going
to
first
go
to
the
admin
panel
by
clicking
this
gear
icon
under
manage
click
ticket
fields
and
then
you're
going
to
want
to
locate
your
ticket
fields.
A
Now,
there's
actually
two
ways
to
do
this:
you
can
hover
over
it
and
click
the
three
vertical
dots
and
then
go
to
deactivate.
It's
going
to
tell
you.
This
ticket
field
may
be
used
on
forums.
Deactivate
will
remove
it
from
the
forms.
This
can
be
undone
by
reactivating
the
field
so
we'll
deactivate
it
and
then
reactivating
is
just
in
reverse,
located
and
click
activate.
A
The
other
way
to
do
it
is
to
click
on
it,
and
then
you
can
click
these
three
dots
in
the
top
and
go
to
deactivate
it'll.
Give
you
the
same
warning
and
then
activation
would
be
the
same
way
and
if
you
ever
want
to
delete
it,
you
can
do
so,
but
traditionally
we
deactivate
things
before
we
actually
delete
the
fields.
A
That's
all
there
is
to
actually
deactivating
and
activating
and
deleting
ticket
fields
in
the
zendesk
ui,
it's
pretty
straightforward.
It
will.
You
know
traditionally
try
to
stop
you
if
there's
a
condition
that
might
cause
a
problem.
It'll
ask
you
to
remove
the
condition
first,
but
it's
always
best
to
you
know
really
make
sure
that
we've
removed.
All
of
that.
So
let
me
go
ahead
and
show
you
a
quick,
easy
trick
for
this.
A
A
good
thing
you
can
do
is
clicking
these
three
dots
here
on
your
thing
on
your
little.
You
know
ticket
fields
list
and
you
can
actually
go
down
and
say
active
forms
and
it'll,
give
you
a
count
and
if
you
hover
over
it
it'll
give
you
them
to
a
degree
like
when
it's
used
by
a
lot
you'll
end
up
getting
this
and
x,
more,
which
isn't
as
useful.
But
if
like
we
go
down
to
one,
that's
using
one
like
gitlab
learn,
subscription
it'll
tell
you
what
form
is
being
used.
A
This
is
useful
if
you're
like
okay,
I
want
to
remove
this
field,
it's
useful
to
go
ahead
and
remove
it
from
the
form
first
and
then
come
in
and
deactivate
it
once
this
active
forms
a
zero.
Traditionally,
you
really
don't
want
to
deactivate
a
field,
that's
still
in
active
use,
so
it's
a
good
idea
to
remove
it
from
the
field
form.
First,
that
way,
you
know
it's.
We
can
be
sure
it's
not
harmful
to
anything.
