blockchain

blockchain
real

a

Basically,

going

China
in
early
2017
and
having
a
meeting
with
a
member
of
the
Chinese
Supreme
Court,
and
he
spoke
to
us
in
English,
about
blockchain
for
over
an
hour
and
I
was
incredibly
impressed
and

mindful
of
the
fact
that
there
is
no
chance.
Even
today,
in
2020,
I
could
have
a
similar
conversation
with
a
member
of
our
Supreme
Court
in
the
United
States.
So
I'd
love
to
hear
kind
of
your
perspective
on
where
things
are
at
a
very
macro
level.

situation
in
Japan
specifically,
and
maybe
you
notice
that
the
Gartner's
hype
psycho
says
that
the
blockchain
is
in
a
trough
of
disillusionment,
and
you
know
we
have
conducted
a
bunch
of
PLC's
testing
and
many
financial
institutions,
many
manufacturing
companies
or
many
retailers
conducting
such
an
PLC's.
But
you
know
we
cannot
find
very
realistic
applications
so
far
in
Japan.
Quite
unfortunately,
but
you
know
it
doesn't
mean
that
the
nobody
expects
about
the
blockchain
technology.

Everybody
expects,
or
everybody
believes
that
the
brochure
is
a
promising
technology,
but
we
cannot
find
the
actual
implementation
of
the
technology
into
the
real
business.
That's
the
current
situation
in
Japan,
but
the
situation
will
be
changing
a
little
bit
and
I

talk
about
that
later.

situation
in
mainland
China
area,
so
oh
wow
I

see.
Currently
the
adoption
are
still
on
the
world
where
we've
early-stage
yeah.
Even
you
know,
after
the
two
three
years
after
2017
yeah,
we
have
been
seeing
hundreds
of
our
pcs
and
we
also
have
tens
of
protected
senior
production.

on
our
experience
in
terms
of
not
only
in
India
but
in
regions
like
issue,

mean
the
regions
like
Singapore
Australia,
we
see
seeing
a
lot
scale
implementation
on
blockchain.
Let
me
talk
to
you
about
India.
We
have
a
state
of
blockchain
wherein
the
subscribers
in
India
today
are
protected
from
the
spam
call
and
spam
text
using
blockchain.

We
have
about
1.2
billion
subscribers
in
India,
out
of
which
about
800
million
subscribers
are
active,
and
these
subscribers,
on
an
average,
get
about
10
text
messages
every
day
before
this
particular
implementation,
most
of
them
we're
receiving
information
without
their
permission.
That
is
spam
text,
and
now
the
government
has
mandated
that
all
the
telcos
should
implement.

which
is
which
is
the
distributed
ledger
technology
and
blockchain,
and
all
the
telcos
have
made
a
decision
in
favor
of
high
pillage
of
fabric,
but
using
a
different
cloud
environment
and
using
that
particular
solution,
they've

telcos
have
been
able
to
protect
the
end
consumers
both
from
spam

and

is

supply
chain,

digital
identity,

something
like

and

not
limited
to
be

huge
manufacturing
company
under

ourselves
want

have
a

of
suppliers
and
we
have

control

quality

the

implementation
really
depends
upon

scale
of,
for
example,
if
there's
a
company
which
is
looking
at
driving

effects
pertaining
to
their
suppliers,
partners
and
the
customers
at
the
minimum.
It's
not
necessary
for
them
to
leverage
and
industry
consortium,
because
this
is
a
micro
chain.

can
create
a
micro
chain
of
their
own,
and
that
is
the
trend
that
we
are
seeing
with
my
different
companies
in
different
parts
of
the
world,
not
only
in
India,
but
there
also
in
different
parts
of
the
world
where
companies
are
now
thinking
hey

create
the
micro
chain
for
my
own
partners
and
suppliers
and
I
facilitate
this
particular
chain
as
a
certificate
authority
and

asked
my
suppliers

partners
to
join

good

to
solve
the
problem.

far
as
their
supply
chains
are
concerned,
they
are
able
to
accomplish
that.
But
when
you're
talking
about
an
industry-wide
consortium,

multiple
players
of
equal
size,
for
example
company

company

supplies-
then
it
becomes
a
bit
challenging
in
terms
of

terms
of
you

what
is
the
code
of
practice
over
there
who
owns
the
network
or
how
can
they
work
in
a
federated
manner?

think
we
are
having
a
lot
of
problems.

tend
to
think
that
today,
industry
consortiums
have
an
empty
room
problem,
so
basically
this

or
2
people
have
formed
the
industry
consortium,
but
the
others
are
not
willing
to
come
on
to
the
consortium.
For
the
same
reason
until
and
unless
you
evolve
a
code
of
practice
which
has
been
mutually
accepted
and
kind
of
drive
it
as
a
team
sport,
then
you
can,
you
can
have
the
consortium
working,
otherwise
the
consortium
will
not
work,
but
that
doesn't
mean
that
you
should
stop
your
blockchain
journey.

technically

customers

difficult
to
conceive
of
all

major
telcos,
collaborating
if
it
hadn't
been
mandated,
and
so
what
is
the
role
of
regulation
and
encouraging
some
of
these

Absolutely
so
bleeding
from
front
is
very
important.
I
can
talk
about
several
examples
from
an
Indian
government
perspective,
especially
at
the
juncture
of
what
we
call
as
the
to
citizen
services.
For
example,
if
you
look
at
public
distribution
systems
of
subsidized
groceries,
subsidized
tri
subsidized
oil
today,
unfortunately,
most
of
those
benefits
don't
reach
the
the
end
person
there's
lot
of
corruption.
There
is
lot
of
opaqueness
in
those
distribution
chains.

Initially
they
brought
in
ID
from
a
perspective
of
managing
the
manual
corruption,
but
over
a
period
of
time,
people
have
perfected
the
art
of
corruption
through
the
IT
systems,
so
now
they're
looking
at
the
next
frontier
in
terms
of
what
is
that
next
level
of
technology
which
will
help
them
to
drive
that
kind
of
transparency,
as
a
result
of
that
most
of
them
have
kind
of
adopted,
blockchain
or
internalized
blockchain.
In
fact,
it's
not
very
uncommon.

If
you
see
a
politician
making
a
poll
promise
in
India
saying
through
blockchain
I'm,
going
to
changed
change
the
environment
out
here,
it
has
kind
of
become
a
election
promise
and
where
they're,
basically
using
it
for
not
only
you
know,
I
didn't
mention
to
you
about
public
distribution
of
benefits,
but
they're,
also
using
it,
for
example,
land
title's,
for
example,
the
management
of
ownership.
We
are
working
with
the
local
government
in
one
of
the
province,
wherein
we
are
using
blockchain
to
manage
the
ownership
of
a
vehicle.

So
when
the
vehicle
changes
hands
or
when
the
ownership
changes,
how
do
you
ensure
that
those
ownership
details
are
updated
in
a
seamless
fashion?
So
we
are
seeing
a
lot
of
that
adoption,
not
only
in
the
Indian
government's.
We
also
seeing
that
in
other
governments
in
the
region,
for
example,
there's
a
custodial
service
company
in
Singapore,
which
is
now
planning
to
use
blockchain
to
basically
protect
the
shareholding
certificates
that
they
give
to
the
bias
of
those
certificates.

So
the
shareholding
pattern
changes
over
a
period
of
time
and
if
I
buy
a
shareholding
certificate
and
if
the
shareholding
changes
there
is
a
responsibility
from
that
custodial
company
to
inform
the
person.
The
shear
holding
pattern
has
changed
so
now.
They're
leveraging
emerging
technologies
like
blockchain
to
accomplish
that.

You
know
the
government
and
regulation
departments
the
playing
a
very
important
role
in
China
industries
and
actually
they
are
published
with
several
policies
related
to
poaching,
but
I
won't
only
want
to
emphasize
two
points
here:
the
first
one
is
in
the
year
2017
and
there's
a
policy
that
suspended
the
ICO
and
all
the
publishing
activities.
So
that
means,
if
you
want
to
play,
if
we
want
to
design
plotting
platform

the

private
blockchain

popular
in
China
and
the

government
announced

wants
to
share
these

kind

information
to
make
the
KYC
operations
more
efficient

conduct.

we
conducted
the
POC,
it
was
totally
technically
feasible
and
it
was
successful,
but
the
problem
was:
nobody
wants
to
be
responsible
for
the
the
system
itself,
the
KYC
system
with
blockchain
technology
itself.

if
it
is
a
case,
we
need
the
backup
from
the
regulator's.
You
know.
Financial
services
institutions
are
always
looking
at
the
regulator's.
If
the
regulator
spy-fi,
they
are
gonna,
get
they're
gonna
be
okay,

we
need
some.

strong
push
from
the
government
or
regulators
to
deal
with
such
kind
of
the
industry-wide
system,
or
you
know
supporting
system
like
kyc.
So
that's
what
I
thought

had
a

regulators

day.
Why
don't
you
push
it?
That's
what

Wanted
to
add
one
more
point
in
addition
to
the
push

regulators,

think

helps

demand

the
end
users.
While
we
had
Super
Tuesday

we

India
yesterday,

the
Supreme
Court
had
struck
down
the
central
bank
directive.
That
Bank
should
not
support
the
crypto
currency
exchanges.

There
was
a
ban
from
the
central
bank
saying
that
all
the
banks
should
not
provide
banking
facilities
to
the
crypto
currency
exchanges,
and
you
cannot
convert
the
Fiat
into
crypto,
which
was
a
band
that
was
in
fluent
that
was
implemented
about
two
years
ago,
and
a
group
of
people
have
lobbied
filed
the
case
in
Supreme,
Court
and
finally,
Supreme
Court
agreed
that
the
central
bank
directive
is
unconstitutional
and
it
has
to
be.
It
has
to
be
changed
with
immediate
effect,
so
not
only
the
regulator.
The
end
user
also
plays
an
important
role.

the
situation
is
similar
in
China
we
have,
or
some
emerging
technology
the
termes
that
raccattack
the
recognition
technology.

become

bridge

the
players
and
the

the
players
and
the
regulator,
so
it

regulator
to
know
how
to
get
it
a
real
data
and
also
want
to
help
the
marketing
to
know
how
to
just

most

markets

work

little
bit
of
a
paradox
between

embrace

blockchain
technology
and

embrace

government

completely
Pro
blockchain,
but
not
pro
crypto,
I,
wouldn't
say
the
government,
but
it's
more
from
the
central
bank,

responsible
for

monetary
guidelines,

were

not
that
they
were
against
crypto,
not
because
they
don't
like
crypto.
It's
just
that
the
common
man
is
not
aware
of
crypto,
it's
quite
possible
that
in
a
party
or
in
a
gathering,
people
will
be
talking
about
crypto,
the
other
person
who
doesn't
know
the
crypto
he
has.

out
and

fear

bank

pro
blockchain.

the
China
comments

Russia
comments

the

them
use

understand
