large
potential
to

disrupt

change
the
world

sort
of
the
backbone
of

bunch

new
things
in
distributed
finance
and
whatnot
and
honest
voting
and
governance
technologies,
and
basically
it
can
touch
all
spheres
of
life.
So
I
thought
it's
it's
it's
a
good
time
to
become
become
proficient
in
in
it.

a
project
of
a
blockchain
node
and
corresponding
some
some
adjacent
software,
which
is
written
in
rust,
developed
in
rust.

those
of

rust
programming
language
is

compiled
language
with
a
strict
and
versatile
type
system,
with
a
safe
memory.

project

incubated
in

building
the
node.

the
outset

stake

implementation

two
consensus
modes
for
it.

is
a
simpler
federated
protocol

protocol

oroboros

and

complex

implementing

stake.
Permissionless
protocol,
both
of
them
are
based
on
research
papers,
published
ihk
scientists
among
other
collaborators,
and
it's

research

acquainted
with
what
forms
the
sort
of
academic
basis
for
this
work
and

catalyst.
We
will
be
mostly

running
some
trusted
parties,
exchanging
messages

voter
registration
metadata.

verify
that

when

register
for
voting
with

a

a
certain
voting
key
you

do
associate
it
with

valid
amount
of
stake
that
you
control
so
over
the
registration
period.
Voters
post
these,

registration
transactions
on
cardona
magnet
and
then
once
the
registration
period
is
over.

get
a
distribution
of

funds
or
what
voting
weights
there,
which
matches
the
stake
that
they
pledged
for

this
voting
keys
on
the
cardano
mainnet,
and
this
is
all
performed
by
a
certain
snapshotting
agent.

centralized
process,
but
we'll
talk

possible
ways
to
decentralize
it
in
the
future.

certain
proposal

certain
proposal

from
the
real
world

transferred

blockchain,

voters
can
identify

proposal

for

each
specific
proposal.

from

what
did
we
do
to
pick
the
candidate
john
and
pete
came
in
and
provided
kind
of
a
structure
to
set
the
facilitator
style
and
methodology
and
the
method
we
used
was
sociocracy,
which
was
really
interesting,
and
I
think
john's
here.
So
if
you
have
any
questions
around
that,
you
can
ask
in
the
breakout
room
and
as
a
search
committee,
we
met
three
times
and
with
14
people
in
attendance
with
a
two
hour
long
meetings.

that's
a
lot
of
total
time
invested
by
everybody
and
there
were
five
candidates
that
were
nominated
when
we
double
checked
with
all
the
nominations
two
people
withdrew
and
then
someone
actually
nominated
charles
hoskinson.
So
we
of
course,
because
we
had
to
we
reached
out
to
him
and
and
inquired
whether
he
would
actually
want
to
sit
on
the
circle,
but
I'm
sure
he
was
way
too
busy
to
come
interview
with
us,
but
we
all
felt
it
would
have
been
great
to
talk
with
him,
but
it
was.

selection
committee
reviewed
all
of
the
candidate
statements
and
then
we
determined
that
the
two
remaining
were
really
strong
candidates,
so
we
invited
them
in
on
two
separate
occasions
to
interview
with
us.
The
two
candidates
were
jordan,
bolavanov
who's
from
bulgaria
and
dean
jays
from
texas.
The
voting
was
super
super
close
and
it
took
us
a
while
to
actually
come
up
with
who
the
representative
was
going
to
be.

So,
what's
next,
the
selection
community
unanimously
agreed
to
stay
on
beyond
our
selection
world
the
support
dean,
because
we
are
such
a
diverse
group
from
so
many
different
countries.
So
we're
happy
to
keep
meeting
as
a
group
on
a
pretty
regular
basis
to
help
dean
with
his
circle
duties
and
we've
also
added
jordan
to
our
ranks.
So
next
time
we'll
be
able
to
add
a
pin
from
bulgaria

kind
of
a
reflective

it
was
a

learning

reflecting,

then
started
watching
a
bunch
of

videos.
Almost
to
the
point
where
I
was
answering
my
phone

watched

became
inspired
by
him.

about
cardano's
governance
plans,
voltaire,
he
called
it
the
primary
difference
between
cardano
and
the
other
third
generation
cryptocurrencies.
He
spoke
of
every
adam
holder
being
able
to
participate
and
become
members
of
the
government.
Consensus
is
necessary,
especially
when
growing
from
hundreds
of
thousands
to
millions
to
potential
billions
of
voters
holders.
