spend

which
is
why
I
really
appreciate
this
group,
because
everyone
else
could
be
in
circulation
on
a
day-to-day
problem,
and
we
all
have
different
issues

group

helped
me
out
solve
a
lot
of
problems.

March

support

we
also
serve
the
islands

Martha's,

moved
from
innovative,
Sierra
and
Encore
to
koha
and
Aspen
we're
not
using
the
OPAC
at
all,
so
we
don't
do
any
Hands-On
circulation,
but
we're
the
support
office
for
35
libraries
with
38
locations,
because
some
of
them
have
branches
so
I
encouraged.

from
Innovative
the
Clans
group,

you

do
it

faith,

of
patrons
turn,
things
in
and
they've
got
cockroaches
and
it's
like
really
upsetting
us
and
we
wondered
what
how
y'all
handle
that
as
far
as
contacting
the
patron

you

you

anything?
Do
you
just
deal
with
the
bugs
or
maybe
we're
the
only
Library
that's
dealing
with
bugs,
but
me
and
my
team
are
totally
like
grossed
out
and
don't
know
what
to
do
and
we're
looking
for
some
suggestions.

have
dealt
with
this
and
I've
treated
it
in
the
past,
just
like
any
other
damage
to
items
like
I
mean
just
like
they've
been
urinated
on
or
been
torn
apart
and
we've
just
treated
them
like
like
damaged
items
or
lost
items.

know,
items
that
were
returned
and
and
unusable
condition
and
treated
them.
That
way,
it's
really
helpful.

our
circulation
policy,
the
first
time
it
happened
was
about
two
or
three
months
ago
and
I
contacted
the
patron
and
said
you
know,
look
you're
gonna
have
to
pay
for
these
ideas
and
we've
kind
of
done
a
little
survey
around
different
libraries
in
the
area,
and
you
know
a
lot
of
the
libraries
in
our
area
had
said
that
they
that
the
patrons
blocked
until
they
can
prove
that
they
actually
had.

know
sort
of
pest
treatment
which
we
have
not

not
received.

idea
of
you

completely
blocking
someone
from
using
the
library

wondered

here
before
the
pandemic,
an
issue
we
had
here
was
an
issue
with
bed
bugs
at
one
of
the
libraries,
and
so
you
know,
northeast
Kansas
library
system
is
a
regional
system
and
Our
member
libraries
range
from
good
sized
libraries
to
smaller
libraries.
You
know
medium
to
small
libraries
in
the
in
the
coha
Consortium,
so
what
we
did
is
at
Knuckles.
We
bought
a
I
forget
what
it's
called.
It's
like
the
bug,
zapper
and
it's
a
little
portable
tent.
That's
maybe
about
three
cubic
feet
in
size.

That
has
a
device,
a
heater
that
connects
to
it,
and
it's
got
a
full
set
of
instructions
about
how
to
you
know,
put
books
that
have
been
infested
with
bed
bugs
into
this
machine
and
de-infest,
and
we
also
were
able
to
find
in
the
area.
There's
a
company
called
Bug
Hounds
that
they
have
cocker
spaniels,
that
are
trained
to
search
for
bed
bugs,
and
we
have
several
of
our
libraries
that
have
the
the
Bug
Hounds
come
like
four
times
a
year
to
search
their
library
for
potential
bed.

are
seven
Regional
Library
systems
in
Kansas,
there's
the
map
behind
George,
three
of
which
manage
quahoga
consortia
and
then
in
South
Central.
They
have
one,
that's
not
managed
by

regional
systems,
there's
a
sort
of
independent
Consortium
down
there,
and
then
we've
got
some
standalones
throughout
the
state.
So.

so
comms
is
coming
through
the
you
know,
the
honeymoon
phase
with
koha
and
now
there's
a
certain
negativity
seeping
in
which
I
don't
like,
because
we're
not
going
back
to
we're
not
going
backwards,
we're
going
forwards.
So
anyway,
we
have
an
issue
with
the
holes.
Pickup
notices,
they're
automated
if
the
patron
has
an
email.

if
a
patron
has
an
email
address
in
their
Patron
record,
they're
supposed
to
get
automated
notices
to
come
and
pick
up
their
holes
and
the
first
and
second
overdue
notices
are
also
automated,
but
we
have
a
situation
and
I'm,
not
a
technical
person,
but
basically
the
and
I
hate.
That
word
sorry,
but
in
short,
the
logs
are
showing
that
it's
hit
or
miss
that
these
gnosis
go
out
so
I'm
thinking
of
talking
to
to
Bible
our
Coho
instance
is
managed
by
Bywater
I.

know
whether
everyone
is
the
same,
but
I
honestly
think
the
staff
of
the
libraries
would
now
prefer
to
manually
send
the
notices,
I
think
from
the
log
the
fail
notice.
They
can
do
it
from
there,
but
has

got

chronic
problem
of

as
a
patron?
Have
an
email
address,
I'll
get
one
notice,
but
I
like
five
minutes
later,

may
not
get
a
second
notice.

an
issue
so
much

notices
fail,

you

into

patrons
notices,
Tab,

you
see
that
a
notice
has
failed
to
send
what's
more
frequent
for
us
is
that
we
can
see
that

koha

sent

notice.
But
then
the
patron
comes
in
and
says
well,
I
never
got
that,
and
it's
usually
because
the
patrons
email
service
provider
has
turned
the
spam
filters
up
to
11
and
nothing
is
getting
through.

think
it's

something
to
do

Amazon

buy
orders
and
Amazon
web
services
setup,

you

verify

have
to
put
in

an
SBS
stands
and

records,

DNS

then
to
to
try
and
train
that
Amazon
thing
to
send
your
stuff
without
it.
Looking
like
spam.
Basically,
we've
never
been
successful
in
getting
that
set
up
here.
So
that's
why
we
switched
over
to
the
SMTP
and
we
have
had
a
lot
more
success
rate.

the
switch

we
had
people
that
weren't
getting
text
messages
anymore,
that
are
getting
them
again
because
of
of
that
switch.
But
generally
email
has
been
a
nightmare.

mean
it's
just
been
a
an
ongoing
frustration
and
I
know
it's
a
frustration
on
bywater's
end
as
well,
but
yeah
I've
I've
shared
these
frustrations
that
you're
having
where
it's
like.
You
talk
with
them
and
get
nowhere.
You
tread
water
on
on
the
errors
and
stuff
so.

the
patrons
are
getting
really
mad
with
the
libraries

then
the
library
staff
are
getting
mad
with
us

we're
getting
mad
with
Bywater.

we're
encouraging
people
to
check

logs,

sure
what
they
can
do
when
they
check
the
logs

guess
they
can
call
the
patron?

it's
so

like
it's
not
spam.

nothing

the
patrons
email,

they'll

emails

not
others.

what
is
the
workaround
on

hold
has
been
canceled

you
didn't
pick

never

libraries

call
everyone

big
libraries,

huge

an

in

every
day,
and
what
would
happen
is
the
emails
would
hit
the

000
and
then
make
just

and

and
Q
to
the
next
day
and
then
they'd
send

more
thousand,
and
then
they
would
just

and

and
we
would
never
catch
up.

modules
cataloging.

issues
with
possibly

with
our
workflow,

patrons

performance

in

choke
point
on
your
network

could
be
causing

see

performance

them
right,

vendor
has,

set
some
standards,

different

they've
done

good

thought

performance

one
of
those
places
where
we
don't
want
anyone
touching
the

campaigning
enthusiastically
with
Bywater
for
them
to
add

no
cost

us

mid-level
set
of
cataloging
permissions.

how

primarily
to
look
at
suggested
developments
that
their
development
page

kind
of
like
a
crowdfunding,

if
you

you
can
contribute
anything
to
it,
you
can
get

ball
rolling
towards
it.

checkout
receipt
shows
everything
you
checked
out
that
day
and
on
our
old
system
you,

checkout
receipt,
was
for
just
that
transaction
or
you're,
walking
out
of
a
library.

back

see

way
out
