From YouTube: FriDAI Brunch n4: Governance For Dummies
Description
Are you ready to finally understand how decentralized governance works? Through this interactive presentation by Charles St. Louis, a Decentralized Governance Architect at the Maker Foundation, you can learn about the processes, how to participate and what Maker is doing towards the full Protocol decentralization.
A
Good
morning
for
every
for
somebody
and
good
afternoon
for
somebody
else
today
we
will
start
the
new
fourth
friday,
friday
branch,
and
this
time
it
will
be
a
special
edition
because
it
will
be
about
governance
and
that's
why
it
was
shifted
at
3,
00
pm
cet,
because
we
are
hosting
our
awesome
charts
from
us
and
it's
morning
for
him,
hello,
charles.
B
A
Exactly
so
for
him,
it's
9
00
am
so
grab
your
favorite
beverage
for
the
time
of
your
place,
and
we
can
start
and,
as
usual,
to
break
the
ice
a
bit.
We
will
make
a
chart
some
private,
some
personal
questions
about
himself
and
the
the
first.
The
first
question
is
this
one:
if
you
could
choose
where
to
live
for
a
year
where
it
would
be.
C
Yeah,
that's
a
really
tough
question
and
I,
my
answer
would
probably
be
if
I
can
kind
of
play
around
with
this
would
be
to
live
in
four
different
places
for
three
months
over
the
course
of
a
year.
So
I
could
explore
more
and
travel
around,
but
if
I
could
pick
one
place,
I
think
it
might
be
costa
rica.
C
I
don't
know
I've
heard
that
a
lot
of
people
really
enjoy
being
digital
nomads
there,
and
I
mean
it's
a
beautiful
country
and
it's
one
of
the
only
countries
in
the
world,
maybe
even
the
only
country
in
the
world
that
doesn't
have
an
army
and
has
run
on
sustainable
resources
for
a
full
year,
which
is
pretty
cool.
A
Nice,
so
it's
all
about
sustainability,
again
yeah
you
have
it
in
the
art.
So
we
can
like
talk
now
a
bit
about
your
like
job
and
your
professional
background,
and
if
you
can
tell
us
what
is
your
job
role
now
at
maker
and
what
you
did
did
you
do
before
before
joining
the
blockchain
or
maker
or
whatever.
C
Before
maker,
I
was
helping
out
with
ethereum
and
ethereum
catheters
with
project
management
initiatives
and
developer
growth
initiatives,
as
well
as
helping
with
the
eip
process.
Yeah.
A
C
C
So
educating
people
about
what
future
possibilities
are
there
is
is
quite
a
barrier
to
overcome,
but
it's
also
very
rewarding
in
terms
of
biggest
hardest
task.
I've
done
before
that
was
probably
back
in
2017
when
I
had
to
build
a
decentralized
exchange
from
scratch.
When
I
was
just
learning
how
to
code
in
ethereum
yeah,
that's
about
it.
A
A
Exactly
this
is
the
first.
You
know
step
of
the
of
the
interview
process
like
how
would
you
explain
what
you
do
to
your
dad,
but
about
about?
Let's,
let's
start
a
bit
about
talking
of
what
is
the
topic
of
today,
which
is
the
centralization
because,
as
you
mentioned,
you
are
now
focused
on
bringing
maker
dao
to
the
full
decentralization,
but
why,
in
your
opinion,
so
not
as
a
maker
employee
and
not
as
a
foundation
member
who,
why
is
important?
Why
decentralization
is
important.
C
Well,
there
are
definitely
a
lot
of
reasons
why
I
think
decentralization
is
important,
but
my
favorite
one
as
of
recent,
is
the
idea
that
so
many
startup
founders
and
businesses
today
really
go
for
the
long-term
idea
of
going
public
or
exiting
or
getting
acquired,
and
the
concept
of
dows,
which
are
built
on
blockchains.
Allow
a
third
option
to
pass
over
the
organization
to
your
most
valuable
customers
who
carry
on
that
vision
that
you
once
put
forward
and
it
allows
them
to
run
it
and
govern
it
themselves.
C
A
Yeah,
it's
amazing,
but
as
all
the
amazing
things
is
not
so
easy
to
comprehend
for
many
and
that's
why
we
are
here
today,
because
charles
prepared
a
nice
easy
presentation
for
us,
he
will
show
what
is
the
centralized
decentralized
governance
in
the
first
place,
how
it
works,
and
afterwards
we
will.
We
will
have
also
a
demo.
We
will
have
a
special
guest
to
show
us
how
the
our
maker
platform
meter
governance
platform
actually
work,
how
to
vote
and
during
the
presentation
we
will
also
have
some
interaction
with
you
guys.
A
So
charles
will
make
question
and
the
first
one
who
answered
correctly
in
the
chat
can
receive
a
prize
brand
die
branded
price.
So
that's
amazing,
so
you
can
share
your
screen.
If
you
want
charles.
B
B
A
C
Okay,
so,
as
maria
mentioned
I'll
be
talking
a
bit
about
well
first,
what
a
decentralized
autonomous
organization
is
just
to
introduce
it
before
I
get
into
the
details
of
what
maker
dao
is
and
it's
titled
the
road
to
a
self-sustaining
dao.
C
C
And
lastly,
I'll
end
with
the
steps
towards
gradual,
decentralization
that
we're
taking
today
and
over
the
next
few
months
and
then
we'll
have
the
awesome,
derek
flossman
come
in
and
talk
a
bit
about
the
maker
governance,
voting
experience
and
talk
about
a
little
a
bit
about
what's
next
and
what
to
look
forward
to
and
then
we'll
end
it
off
with
just
a
list
of
resources
to
get
involved
with
maker
governance
or
with
the
community
and
yeah.
C
In
short,
I
like
to
say
it's
an
organization
that
is
governed
by
a
software
protocol
or
software
system,
and
the
decentralized
aspect
of
it
means
that
no
one
entity
has
the
authority
to
make
and
enforce
decisions.
It's
a
community
of
people
making
these
decisions
coming
together
and
agreeing
to
a
certain
extent
to
make
those
decisions.
C
So
what
makes
dao's
unique
is
that,
unlike
traditional
organizations,
they
have
hierarchical
structures,
many
positions
through
an
organization
where
a
dao
has
no
real
hierarchy.
C
So
it's
a
flat
organization
with
just
contributors,
contributing
in
different
areas
such
as
building
the
software
or
building
the
community,
or
setting
up
votes
and
doing
governance,
so
dowsey's
economic
mechanisms
to
align
the
interest
of
the
entire
organization
and
stakeholders,
mainly
through
the
use
of
research
like
game
theory,
so
how
everyone
can
work
together
to
get
the
best
outcome
or
or
other
situations
in
which
people
wouldn't
benefit
and
that
so
it's
it's
really
based
on
that
kind
of
research
and,
of
course,
there's
token
incentives
as
well.
C
So
you
have
to
have
some
sort
of
value
benefit
for
participating
in
a
dao
and
interacting
with
other
people
and
using
that
token,
as
well.
C
C
So
what
is
maker
dow
all
about
just
to
recap
what
maker
is
and
my
favorite
way
of
doing
so
is
saying
it's
a
decentralized
organization.
That's
dedicated,
bring
to
bring
financial
stability
and
transparency
to
the
world
economy,
and
I
love
this
diagram
because
it
really
shows
how
many
stakeholders
there
are
in
maker
dial
and,
as
you
can
see,
it
all
revolves
around
the
maker
protocol
and
then
there's
three
main
parts.
C
If
you
want
to
I'm
sure
you
could
sub
categorize
them
as
well,
but
you
have
the
maintainers
the
people
who
build
and
maintain
software
protocol,
the
users
who
use
the
products
such
as
holding
die
or
opening
up
a
vault
to
where
you
put
your
collateral
up
and
draw
a
die
alone
and
use
that
to
your
benefit.
And
then,
when
you're
done
with
it,
you
pay
it
back
and
then.
C
Lastly,
what
I'll
focus
on
today
is
governors,
so
the
mtr
holders
themselves,
who
have
the
power
to
make
the
changes
and
evolve
the
dao
and
also
risk
teams
who
provide
recommendations
on
what
is
best
to
go
forward
with
things
related
to
the
protocol,
as
well
as
just
general
collateral,
onboarding
activities.
As
well
so,
the
maker
protocol
is
a
smart
contract
system
that
backs
and
stabilizes
the
value
of
the
die
stable
coin
and
dye
is
a
collateral
back
stable
coin,
which
is
soft
peg
to
the
us
dollar.
C
And
lastly,
we
have
mtr,
which
is
that
governance
token
used
for
maintaining
maker
protocol
and
on
the
right
you
can
see
this
beautiful
diagram
may
look
a
little
confusing
as
well,
but
it
highlights
exactly
every
component
of
the
entire
maker
protocol
and
I
highly
suggest
you
to
take
a
look
at
it
at
our
docs.maker.com,
but
it's
not
the
focus
of
today's
presentation.
C
And
then
we
have
the
vault
owners
who
use
and
have
opened
a
vault
where
vaults
facilitate
the
generation
of
dye
against
the
locked
up
collateral.
As
I
mentioned
before,.
C
A
A
so
text
text,
one
the
special
prize,
which
guys
now
I
can,
I
can
tell-
is
a
die
pair
of
socks
brand
new.
So
afterwards,
bex
will
give
me
your
will
give
me
your
address
and
we
will
ship
them
for
you,
okay,
guys,
if
you
can,
because
there
are
some
questions
in
the
chat.
Can
you
please
use
the
button
that
you
that
you
see
here
in
the
bottom?
That
is
ask
a
question.
A
C
C
C
As
of
recent,
we
just
upgraded
the
liquidation
system,
otherwise
known
as
the
auction
system
and
mkr
voters
had
to
go
in
and
vote
and
decide
if
they
think
that's
a
good
idea
to
be
added.
It's
the
final
step
in
implementing
a
change
to
the
to
the
maker
ecosystem.
C
And,
lastly,
you
can
decide
on
proposals
that
aim
to
improve
maker,
either
the
protocol
or
maker
governance
processes
in
general
and,
of
course,
there's
a
lot
of
other
things
you
can
vote
on,
but
those
are
the
top
ones
in
my
mind.
C
C
C
It
would
be
included
in
the
voting
of
the
contents
of
the
vote.
So
when
the
vote
passes,
the
changes
are
implemented
after
a
short
period
of
time,
so
the
protocol
would
change
exactly
after
that.
Executive
voting
has
been
wrapped
up
and
I'm
sure
derek
will
talk
a
lot
more
about
this
and
have
some
good
real
examples
of
this.
If
you
don't
really
understand
how
executive
voting
works.
B
C
What
proposals
have
been
going
through
the
system
and
so
much
more,
and
it
happens
every
thursday
at
12
to
1
pm
est,
and
then
we
have
our
community
calls
which
happen
every
tuesday
at
the
same
time
where
this
discuss
all
the
new
developments
happening
in
the
entire
community,
which
is
a
lot
more
broader,
but
a
really
great
energy
in
that
community,
and
we
also
have
our
forums,
which
are
have
been
growing
extremely
well
and
every
every
good
conversation
happens
there.
C
So
now
I'm
going
to
talk
a
bit
about
what
the
self-sustaining
maker
dao
initiative
is,
and
I
mean
in
short,
it's
really
enabling
the
community
to
embrace
its
role
in
governing
the
maker
protocol
and
the
maker
foundation
is
putting
these
pieces
in
place
to
set
the
core
structure.
But
really
it's
about
the
the
whole
community
gaining
that
practical
experience
and
running
the
dial
themselves.
So
this
initiative
is
really
kick-starting
that
and
helping
it
become
a
reality.
C
So,
as
I
mentioned,
the
maker
foundation
eventually
will
dissolve.
So
decentralization
has
been
a
very
big
core
principle
of
maker
since
2018,
I
believe,
and
with
mcd
aka
multi-cloud
will
die,
has
been
delivered.
It's
time
to
accelerate
the
decentralization
of
maker
and
in
order
to
achieve
self-sustainability
making
the
protocol
run
on
its
own.
With
a
strong
group
of
core
committee
members,
it
needs
to
create
a
new
generation
of
core
governance
processes
and
new
independent
contributors.
C
C
A
So
again,
but
you
were
that's
it,
you
already
won
so
theodore
answer
b
as
first
and
everyone
else
answer
b
as
well,
but
the
fastest
would
theodore
who
actually
I
answered
now,
b
and
c,
which
is
the
correct
answer.
Charles.
C
Well,
the
correct
answer
is
b,
but
we
do
employ
meaningful
interactions,
but
that's.
B
A
I
will
ship
you
socks
thanks.
Sorry,
sorry
pax,
but
I
mean
one
socks
is
enough.
B
C
C
The
funny
part
about
option
a
was
that
that's
actually
one
of
facebook's
old
models,
or
maybe
even
current
motto-
is
the
ownership
and
control
of
information
which
is
so
opposite
of
what
projects
in
decentralized
and
blockchain
ecosystem
are
working
towards.
A
C
C
They
can
use
this
framework
and
template
to
propose
that
and
have
mtr
holders
vote
on
it
to
either
accept
it
or
reject
it,
and
then,
lastly,
there
is
the
vote
delegates
which
you
can
also
think
of
as
protocol
politicians
who
are
representatives
of
certain
views
within
the
maker
ecosystem
and
people
delegate
their
votes
to
them
to
make
decisions
on
their
behalf,
which
will
ultimately
help
voter
participation
and
engagement,
increase.
C
So
all
of
those
frameworks
are
very
technical
focused,
whereas
maker
really
focuses
on
a
socio-economic
twist
to
it.
So,
as
I
mentioned,
you
can
either
improve
the
maker
protocol
or
make
your
governance,
whereas
all
these
other
frameworks
are
typically
only
for
improving
the
software
side
of
things.
C
So
mips
are
in
progress.
We
had
them
the
first
13
proposals,
which
was
a
huge
bundle
passed
on
may
2nd
this
this
year
and
it's
really
exciting,
because
only
it
only
got
implemented
a
few
months
ago
and
it's
already
very,
very
operational.
I
think
in
terms
of
collateral
onboarding,
which
was
one
of
the
framework
parts
that
we
onboarded
we've
had
66
applications
to
onboard
cloud
go
through
in
a
total
of
seven
collateral
assets
that
have
already
been
onboarded
with
two
in
progress
going
up
in
a
vote
today.
C
And
additionally,
we
put
a
collateral,
onboarding
framework,
which
is
a
stepwise
process
of
applying
through
the
forums
having
the
domain
teams
such
as
risk,
oracles
and
smart
contracts,
review
them
and
do
the
work
for
them
and
then
propose
them
to
governance.
So
both
of
these
are
now
formalized
and
it's
been
going
very
well.
A
A
A
C
So,
as
I
just
talked
about
maker
and
proposals,
the
second
one
of
the
core
pillars
is
the
epcs
or
the
decentralized
workforce.
So
they
really
work
on
the
security
maintenance
and
long
run.
Development
of
the
protocol,
and
all
of
this
requires
a
decentralized
workforce
and
it
can
be
a
wide
variety
of
things
such
as
community
development,
marketing
how
to
handle
social
media
and
the
websites,
and
it
really
goes
a
lot
beyond
that.
C
Beyond
the
original
domain
teams,
which
I
mentioned
so
the
important
aspect
behind
epcs
is
that
we
require
humans
to
be
involved
in
the
in
maker
ecosystem.
It's
not
just
about
the
software
and
the
code,
so
they're
necessary
to
participate
in
the
risk
management,
collateral,
onboarding
and
overall
stability
processes
required
to
keep
die.
Peg
softbank
to
the
us
dollar,
and
the
most
awesome
thing
about
epcs
is
that
they're
paid
by
the
protocol
directly
through
directly
through
governance
and
they're,
also
onboarded
through
governance,
and
they
have
a
rather
radically
transparent,
flat
form
of
organization.
C
C
C
So
right
now,
there's
people
in
the
in
the
maker
governance
ecosystem,
who
have
a
lot
of
mkr
and
have
a
big
impact
on
those
votes,
given
that
it's
token
weighted
so
every
token
that
they
hold
equals
one
vote
and
the
smaller
npr
holders
may
feel
like
their
their
vote,
doesn't
have
a
huge
impact
and
can't
make
a
big
change
to
the
current
outcome
of
votes.
C
So
we
have
to
get
to
safety
first
and
today,
like
I
mentioned,
we
have
meps,
but
we
don't
have
epcs
or
vote
delegate
solutions
in
place.
Yet
yes,
we're
working
on
them,
but
they're
not
totally
in
place
yet,
and
the
community
is
talking
about
them
quite
a
lot
recently.
So
we're
seeing
progress
but
to
the
core
pillars
are
still
work
in
progress.
C
And
the
thought
behind
this
is
with
proposing
these
new
research
ideas
and
concepts
on
the
forums
and
on
calls
it's
really
tempting
to
try
to
get
these
two
solutions
perfect
for
the
first
time.
But
the
foundation
believes
it's
better
for
the
community
to
put
a
framework
in
place
and
iterate
on
it
continuously.
C
And
lastly,
the
next
step
is
a
really
big
focus
on
getting
core
community
members
to
gain
their
practical
experience
and
running
the
dab,
such
as
doing
community
development
work
or
getting
onboarded
as
a
contributor
to
do
smart
contract
assessments
for
cloud
onboarding.
In
all
these
different
opportunities
for
people
to
get
involved
with
either
working
for
the
protocol
or
participating
in
governance.
A
C
Yes,
so
we've
actually
seen
a
lot
post
this
past
week,
but
I
think
in
total
we've
seen
30
meps
proposed,
but
in
total
of
all
proposals
it
could
be
around
30
to
40
and
that's
just
in
a
couple
months.
So
people
are
really
thinking
hard
about
how
to
improve
both.
The
protocol
and
governance,
which
is
amazing.
A
A
No,
I
are
we
going
to
show
another
demo.
A
Yeah,
no
wait,
wait!
Wait.
We
have
some
questions
before
before
the
demo.
Sorry
I
I'm
announcing
the
winners
which
are
who
are
here
suspects,
dog
and
theodore.
A
So
if
you
guys
reach
me
out
at
maria
makerdao.com,
with
your
address,
I
can
ship
you
the
prize.
Let
me
how
can
I
put
again
my
camera
on
weight,
because
I
mean
you
have
to
see
my
pretty
face
guys
come
on
here.
I
am
okay,
so
we
have
four
questions
from
the
audience.
A
The
first
one
is.
I
have
seen
you
can
also
read
the
question
charts
in
the
ask
question
button
below,
so
I
have
seen
many
times
people
announcing
that
they
are
developing
gado.
You
come
across
benchmark
with
maker
dao
questions,
so
how
did
you
achieve
to
be
main
trademark
on
dao?
A
C
So
trademark,
in
what
so.
A
C
Okay,
yeah
well,
first,
I
think
the
concept
of
daos
in
general
is
a
really
broad
term,
and
it
can
mean
a
lot
of
different
things
to
different
people.
C
A
And
also
because
we
are
awesome,
come
on,
the
dao
is
awesome.
So
next
question
is
from
jesus
and
is
about
delegate
vote
vote
voters
delegate
voting.
So
the
question
is
when
it
will
be
available,
because
I
think
that
a
lot
of
communities
and
in
in
this
case
is
cryptoplaza
spanish
community
in
madrid.
C
C
A
Okay,
so
we
will,
we
will
focus
a
bit
more
on
this
with
derek
later
and
then
we
have
another
question,
which
is:
what
are
the
criteria
for
polling.
C
So
there's
a
few
different
ways
on
how
polls
are
put
up
one
if
you're
in
the
forums-
and
you
want
to
signal
something
you
can
put
up
a
little
forum
poll
in
there
and
if
there's
a
good
amount
of
people
supporting
it
and
a
real
use
case
for
doing
it.
It
gets
put
up
into
a
vote
on
the
voting
voting
portal
and
once
that
vote
results
are
done.
C
It
could
then
proceed
to
an
executive
vote
and
actually
have
those
changes
implemented,
but
there's
also
different
types
of
polling
ways
to
come
about
it,
so
that
one
is
more
in
urgent
situations
or
things
related
to
monetary
policy.
They
can
happen
on
a
weekly
basis,
so
monday
poll
friday
executive,
but
in
the
monthly
cycle
polls,
are
scheduled
throughout
the
weeks.
So
there's
a
poll
in
the
second
week
of
the
governance
cycle
and
in
the
third
and
then
in
the
fourth
there's
a
final
executive
vote.
A
Cool
okay,
guys,
if
you
want
to
learn
a
bit
more
about
a
governance
cycle,
there
is
a
nice
blog
post,
I
think
explaining
it.
I
will
post
it
soon
in
the
meantime,
if
we
want
to
start
with
the
demo
with
derek,
I
will
invite
him
on
the
screen.
Right
now,
derek
I
hope,
you're
ready
and
not
in
your
pyjama.
A
Okay,
now
you're
accepted,
so
I
think
we
can,
let's
face
to
the
erect
chart,
so
I
will
put
our
camera
off
yeah
hello,
derek.
D
D
D
D
Awesome,
thank
you.
Okay.
So
yes,
I'm
I'm
derek
lotman,
I'm
a
product
manager.
I
work
on
governance,
so
I
work
quite
closely
with
charles
with
regards
to
government
processes.
I
work
with
the
smart
contracts
team
for
releasing
new
executive
spells
and
those,
of
course
go
through
the
governance
portal
and
in
terms
of
the
portal,
I
work
with
the
development
team
on
making
sure
that
we
have
polling
executive
voting,
that
we
have
access
to
information.
B
D
D
What's
there
show
you
the
executive
voting
information
and
what
information
is
actually
present
on
that
page
and
then
how
to
vote
on
an
executive
and
some
of
the
future
enhancements,
which
is
where
I
think
we
can
get
into
some
of
the
cool
stuff
around
the
questions
that
you
guys
have
with
regards
to
delegation
and
maybe
someone's
going
to
ask
layer
two
questions
I
saw
there
was
a
status
person
in
the
in
the
comments,
so
yeah
all
interesting
stuff,
so
but
first,
the
governance
portal.
D
So
at
a
high
level,
it's
a
pretty
simple
interface
right:
you've
got
polling,
you've
got
executives,
you've
got
modules
and
a
voting
contract
so,
like
charles
said,
there's
a
there's
a
particular
process
flow
here.
Where
we
have
communication
and
discussion
in
the
community,
we
have
rocket
chat.
We
have
the
forum
and
all
of
these
discussions
come
together
in
the
in
a
poll
and
the
governance
facilitator.
D
Who
is
an
individual
he's
called
long
for
wisdom,
he's
been
voted
in
by
the
community
and
he
creates
these
polls
that
get
put
onto
the
portal
and
they
are
non-binding,
but
on
chain
signaling.
So
again,
like
child
said
it's
very
much
about
understanding
the
community
sentiment
and
having
a
good
idea
of
okay.
What
is
the
community
looking
to
vote
on,
and
this
gives
us
a
good
idea
going
forward
into
the
executives
on
what
those
formal,
binding
on-chain
proposals
should
be
now
in
terms
of
sort
of
timeline?
D
Here
these
polls
are
typically
posted
on
a
monday
and
they
last
till
a
thursday
and
the
outcome
of
those
parameters
that
are
voted
on
then,
as
I
said,
going
to
the
the
executives,
and
so
with
the
executive
screen,
you've
got
all
sorts
of
risk.
Changes
can
be
introduced,
the
stability
fee,
debt
ceiling,
die,
savings
rate,
auction
parameters,
different
collateral
types,
new
collateral
types
can
be
added
or
removed,
and
also
oracle
changes.
D
If
we're
adding
white
or
dark
feeds-
and
something
I
don't
have
on
here
but
is
also
included-
could
be
onboarding
off-boarding
individuals
that
the
community
votes
to
participate
in
governance
or
act
as
representatives
so
yeah.
This
is
really
the
main
screen
where
people
vote
and
participate
and
really
put
their
mkr
to
work
by
standing
behind
a
particular
proposal
and
and
putting
it
forward
to
enact
these
changes
now.
The
third
one
that
at
the
moment,
not
many
people.
D
Well,
no
one
is
used
and
not
many
people
are
probably
familiar
with
it,
but
is
the
modules
button
and
at
the
moment,
there's
only
one
module
in
there,
which
is
the
emergency
shutdown
module,
and
we've
got
a
lot
of
information
about
this
on
our
dockstopmaker.com
site
that
essentially
it's
a
security
measure
in
place.
If
something
were
to
go
wrong,
then
we
can
shut
the
system
down
and
make
sure
that
people's
funds
are
safe.
D
So
at
the
moment,
that's
the
only
module,
that's
there,
but
we
are
planning
on
building
this
out
to
include
other
modules
that
will
make
the
governance
process
easier
and
less
of
a
burden
on
the
weekly
proposals
that
are
created,
because
you
can
imagine
that,
with
all
of
these,
these
items,
the
stability
fee,
debt
ceiling
life,
savings
rate,
there's
a
lot
of
parameters
that
can
be
changed.
So
if
we
can
be
able
to
include
and
incorporate
those
into
specific
independent
modules,
then
you
remove
a
lot
of
that
burden
from
this
polling
through
executive
phases.
D
So
two
that
we
are
looking
at
are
the
debt
ceilings
so
a
more
automated
way
and
then
also
the
die
savings
rate
module
so
an
another
more
automated
way
of
changing
those
parameters-
and
this
is
probably
a
good
example
of
where
mips
and
the
maker
improvement
proposals
really
feed
into
like
actual
real
development,
because
these
proposals
require
parameters,
thresholds,
boundaries
and
different
constraints,
so
that
the
game
theory
all
comes
together
in
the
right
way
and
those
discussions
happen
through
mips
and
that
formal
documentation
helps
support
what
I
would
build
with
the
development
team
and
the
smart
contracts
team
to
help
kind
of
complement
it.
D
D
D
It
enables
you
to
show
the
total
amount
of
mkr
what
you
have
locked
if
you'd
like
to
add
or
remove
mkr
and
any
linked
address,
and
in
this
case
any
mkr
that
you
have
locked
is
securely
locked
in
the
chief.
It
can
only
ever
be
removed
back
to
the
address
from
which
it
came.
So
it's
a
very
secure
contract
and
that
has
been
put
in
place
on
purpose
so
that
mkr
could
not
go
to
other
addresses.
D
A
That's
cool,
sorry
that
is
interrupt.
This
is
super
cool
and
I
want
to
know
this
is
a.
This.
Is
a
snapshot
right,
a
screenshot.
You
can.
B
A
You
can
you
share
the
image
in
the
chat,
so
people
can
save
it
if
they
want
and
review
it
after
afterwards
of.
B
D
D
D
D
Yeah
and
yeah
good
point,
so
it's
a.
D
Vote.Makerdao.Com,
okay,
so
on
the
executive
voting
page
there's
a
lot
of
information,
so
breaking
it
down.
You've
got
a
summary
of
the
changes
that
the
spell
is
introducing
so
you'll
remember
back
from
okay,
we
had
the
polls,
they
output,
some
information,
we've
taken
that
and
that
becomes
the
basis
for
okay,
this
executive
spell,
and
in
this
example
here
it's
increasing
the
ea
debt
ceiling,
which
was
something
that
was.
It
was
a
proposal
that
was
actually
passed
a
couple
of
days
ago.
So
quite
new,
so
you'll
have
the
breakdown
of
the
information.
D
There
will
be
links
to
the
forum
and
other
potentially
sometimes
reddit
discussions
and
chats
that
have
happened
or
blogs
that
are
relevant
to
the
information
that's
presented
so
that
those
that
go
in
basically
have
a
good
overview
of
okay.
This
is
what
I'm
voting
on
this
is
why
it's
important
and
why
it's
relevant
to
the
ecosystem
and
then
yes
also,
of
course,
resources.
So
the
maker
improvement
proposals
and
other
information
that
support
the
proposal
overall
and
then
there's
some
more
technical
details
like
the
commencement
state.
D
So
you
want
to
make
sure
that
it's
relevant
and
new.
Also,
the
contract
source
so
as
you'll
all
be
familiar
with
the
crypto
space
is
always
verify.
Everything
is
transparent.
You
can
click
on
it.
You
can
then
go
to
ecoscan.
You
can
read
through
the
contract
code
yourself
if
you're
so
inclined,
and
the
cool
thing
is
with
this.
Is
that
there's
actually
other
third-party
sites
that
have,
I
think
one
of
them
is
called
catflip.io-
is
very
cool
in
that
it
shows.
Okay,
these
are
the
changes
implemented
by
the
different
proposals.
D
Mkr.Gov.Science
is
another
one
that
was
built
by
a
community
member.
So
it's
really
cool
to
see
this
ecosystem
start
to
build
around
this
core
piece
of
here's
a
proposal
and
then
all
the
other
information
that
comes
with
it,
and
I
have
a
small
screenshot
of
the
forum
forum.makerdao.com
as
well.
That's
the
main
discussion
site.
So,
if
you
guys
are
familiar,
then
I'm
sure
you're,
already
participating
and
yeah.
D
A
D
A
D
Time
we
can,
we
can
pull
all
the
urls
into
the
chat,
no
problem.
A
No,
I
just
want
to
to
wrap
up
a
bit
saying
this
is
very
hard
for
people
to
comprehend.
These
kind
of
things-
and
our
job
here
is
to
especially
charles
and
derek's,
is
to
try
to
make
people
understand
as
much
as
we
can
in
this
way,
people
will
participate
actually
to
the
governance,
because
they
I
mean
our
final
point-
is
make
people
vote
and
and
make
people
participate,
because
this
is
what
we
want
to
achieve.
This
is
our
main
goal
to
reach
the
the
centralization.
A
If
people
don't
vote,
we
don't
I
mean
we
can.
We
can
go,
go
ahead
and
we
are
also
trying
to
make.
I
mean
to
make
really
the
best
that
we
can
also
by
checking
feedbacks
from
the
the
users
you
know,
because
we
we
always,
we
always
value
a
lot
of
feedbacks
and
we
asked
for
feedbacks.
We
made
a
survey
among
the
community,
especially
focused
on
the
ux
and
the
the
problems
people
face
in
in
voting
and
and
we
are
working
towards.
A
I
mean
improving
more
and
more
portal
ux
and
everything.
Also,
this
delegate
vote
voting
thing
is
an
action
that
I
mean
we
want
to
introduce,
because
in
this
way
also
smaller
voters
have
a
voice
in
the
end
you
know,
so
someone
asked
before.
Isn't
there
any
like
a
sort
of
centralization
in
the
delegate?
Voting
concept
from
my
point
of
view
is
not
is
this
is
not
true,
because
it
it's
completely
the
other
thing
you
are
including
everyone
in
this
way.
You
know
you
are.
A
Also
the
smallest
to
to
to
be
heard,
so
it's
not
centralization.
This
is
completely
the
opposite,
but
I
I
want
to
also
to
hear
from
derek
what
what
you
you
can
answer
to
this
question
so.
D
If
you
think
yeah
yeah
definitely
so
I
I
think
we're
good
with
the
information
that's
presented
and
what's
on,
what's
in
the
portal
itself,
and
I'm
totally
happy
to
share
these
slides,
I
think,
let's,
let's
because
we're
kind
of
short
on
time
aren't
we
so,
let's
yeah,
let
so
I
mean
in
terms
of
the
process
of
voting-
it's
I'll
be
like
five
seconds,
so
you've
got
the
executive
on
the
portal
here,
for
example,
I've
got
an
example
proposal.
Now.
D
If
you
want
that
example
to
win,
then
it
has
to
exceed
the
amount
of
mkr
on
the
previous
spell.
So
as
soon
as
it
gets
a
little
bit
more,
then
it
becomes
the
winner
and
once
that
happens
by
you
by
users
voting,
then
it
becomes
the
governing
proposal.
So
that's
kind
of
the
main
voting
takeaway
in
terms
of
making
sure
proposals
get
get
voted
in
and
the
confirmation
is
pretty
much
like
you
would
expect
confirm,
approve
and
through
in
this
case
metamask
now
in
terms
of
future
enhancements.
D
This
is,
I
think,
my
last
slide,
which
ties
in
with
some
of
the
questions
and
let
me
run
through
these
and
then
marie.
You
can
ask
me
again:
I
just
make
sure
I
get
the
right
questions,
so
we're
looking
to
do
updated
user
experience
based
on
a
community
feedback
that
we've
had.
So
it
means
you
know
a
new
site,
a
new
system
stats
directly
on
the
page,
clearer
information
and
we've
we've
had
a
lot
of
feedback
around
polling
that
we
have
a
lot
of
polls
every
week.
D
So
we
want
to
batch
them
and
make
it
easier
for
people
to
vote
also
allow
new
functionality
so
that
we
can
see
why
people
vote
a
certain
way
so
allow
people
to
sign
a
comment
with
every
trend,
with
every
vote
that
they
put
forward,
which
is
really
helpful
because
again
it's
understanding
the
community
as
a
whole
and
then,
of
course,
the
ability
to
vote
on
multiple
concurrent
proposals.
I
sort
of
snuck
this
one
in
here.
D
It's
not
directly
related
to
the
portal,
but
it
is
directly
related
to
the
chief
voting
contract,
which
will
have
to
change
to
support
multiple
proposals,
because,
if
you're
familiar
with
today's
system,
we
only
have
one
proposal
at
a
time
for
executive
voting
and
that
can
get
weighed
down
with
lots
of
different
proposal
parameters
every
week.
So
in
terms
of
delegation
charles
touched
on
that
earlier
with
the
new
chief
design,
we
are
definitely
looking
at
delegation.
D
We
are
very
interested
in
that
because
the
community
has
said
they
would
like
to
do
that.
There's
people
that,
although
follow
maker,
they
are
not
able
to
do
so
every
week,
there's
a
quite
a
lot
of
research
and
reading
that
has
to
be
done.
So
they've
said:
hey
I'd
like
someone
to
be
able
to
do
that.
As
my
representative,
it's
still
my
mkr
as
an
owner,
but
I'm
willing
to
give
them
the
voting
rights.
D
To
do
so,
and
I
think
there's
a
lot
of
people
who
say
I
I
only
have
one
mkr
or
two
mkr
and
it's
really
not
enough
to
change
it,
but
once
you
put
that
aggregate
together
and
there's
someone
who
represents
you
specifically
on
a
particular
item,
then
that
becomes
so
much
more
powerful
in
terms
of
being
able
to
sway
the
community
a
particular
way
and
you're,
of
course,
always
able
to
take
that
mkr
out
and
not
support
that
delegate.
D
So
it
is
a
good
discussion
topic
around
centralization
or
not
I
mean
it
is
fully
giving
it
to
the
community
to
pick
and
choose
who
they
want
to
represent
their
point
of
view
in
terms
of
voting,
so
I'm
very
excited
about
being
able
to
build
that
into
the
chief
contract
and
let
people
you
know
build
up
third-party
sites
that
support
delegates
that
support
these
politicians
to
be
able
to
promote
themselves.
D
And
then
you
know
how
will
they
be
incentivized?
These
are
a
whole
new
area
that
hasn't
been
discussed
or
has
been
discussed
that
hasn't
been
implemented
yet
so
I
think,
there's
a
lot
of
opportunity
there
and
because
of
time.
Charles
did
you
want
to
say
anything
about
these
slides,
we'll
share
the
links,
and
then
you
also
have
some
other
links
here.
So
I
can't
see
the
questions,
but
I'm
going
to
stop
screen
sharing.
If
I
can.
A
I
think
you
guys
basically
covered
also
the
previous
question
there.
There
was
one
more
from
jesus
jesus,
but
charles
already,
so
he
does
ask
in
what
type
of
decision
does
it
make
sense?
B
A
Jesus,
you
have
to
always
vote
everything
counts.
I
mean
if
you
barrack
one
two
once
we're
in
a
different
way.
D
No,
I
I
agree.
I
mean
the
the
foundation.
Is
a
community
member
like
anyone
else?
Yes,
there
are
a
lot
of
developers
building
on
it,
focusing
on
different
elements
of
the
work,
but
we
are
just
the
same
as
anyone
else,
so
I
I'm
yeah
all
for
all
votes,
absolutely.
A
Yeah
you.
C
As
I
think
theodore
mentioned,
it's
it's
quite
hard
to
keep
up
with
a
lot
of
things
happening
and
with
such
rapid
growth
and
picking
up
traction
with
mips,
claro,
onboarding
and
so
on
it
it's
hard
to
find
the
resources
to
stay
up
to
date,
so
this
presentation
will
be
provided
at
the
end,
so
you
can
actually
click
on
these
links,
but
for
now
I'm
just
going
to
talk
about
what
they
are.
The
first
one
is
a
weekly
mips
update.
C
C
What
votes
are
happening
next
and
I
also
post
it
in
the
in
the
forums
as
a
form
thread,
so
people
can
check
that
every
week
as
well,
so
we
also
have
the
mips
rocket
chat
channel,
which
is
a
place
where
people
talk
about
current
proposals
post
in
that
channel
when
they
have
an
idea
and
so
on,
and
if
you
do
want
to
attend
the
governance
and
risk
hall
segment
each
week
it
happens
on
thursday
again
at
noon
est.
C
We
also
have
the
maker
blog
so
every
month
we
do
a
big
recap
of
everything.
That's
happening
governance,
so
if
you
don't
want
to
tune
in
every
week
or
even
more
frequently,
you
can
tune
in
at
the
end
of
the
month
and
see
the
highlights
of
everything.
That's
happened,
ranging
from
proposals
that
I
went
through
or
got
rejected
all
the
votes.
C
That
happened,
events
that
happened
and
a
lot
more
and
lastly,
I
just
want
to
say
that
if
anyone
here
has
any
questions
at
all,
I'm
always
there
to
answer
questions
or
help
you
get
started
with
working
in
governance
or
getting
involved
in
participating
more
so
you
can
find
me
on
rocket
chat
at
charles,
st
louis
username
and
I'm
sure
derek
and
is
also
very
happy
to
answer
any
other.
Any
questions
about
governance.
So
we're
always
there
to
support,
and
I
just
wanted
to
leave
it
off
on
that.
D
C
Mine,
yes,
as
lenka
mentioned
just
while
we're
waiting
the
maker
relay,
is
a
really
great
way
to
catch
up
with
as
well.
I
left
that
piece
out
because
it's
a
newer
initiative,
but
it
literally
talks
about
everything
happening
in
in
maker
and
maker
governance,
particularly
and
it
gets
posted
each
week.
I
think
on
tuesdays
as
well.
You
can
also
follow
mkr.gov
on
twitter
to
get
the
updates
in
real
time.
A
A
I
want
to
remind
everyone
that
this
event
is
recorded,
the
chat
will
stay
there
and
the
all
the
conversation
is
here
and
it
can
be
seen
again
watch
again
at
the
same
link
forever.
I
mean
if
crowdcast
doesn't
fail
before,
but
in
theory
forever.
So
I
invite
everyone
to
share
this.
B
A
Crowdcast
dota
friday
branch
4,
because
I
think
this
is
really
really
educational
and
charleston
derek
made
a
great
great
great
job
in
explaining
governance
to
dummies,
who
are
us,
and
jesus
will
also
translate
the
the
event
in
spanish,
probably
so
that
the
spanish
community
can
watch
it
as
well.
Okay,.
A
We
are
a
bit
run
out
of
time,
but
it
was
worth
it.
I
think
I
thank
you
a
lot
for
your
participation
and
your
expertise
that
you
shared
with
us,
and
I
wish
everybody
a
good
weekend.
