Hey there, my name is luisa fraser, and in this video I will show you how to get started with using power automate in sharepoint lists.

Sharepoint lists help you track information and organize work, and one of the best things about them is that we can use power, automate flows to automate workloads around list items.

Let's say I have a list of interesting blog posts that I want to post one each day into a team's channel. How would I do this? Let's see in the demo.

Okay, we are now here in a sharepoint list, is the tip of the day list now head over to flow.microsoft.com and create a new scheduled cloudflow.

Now that I have my trigger, I need to get the list items search for sharepoint, select the site list tip of the day, select new step. Now we want to make sure that we only post a random item, select expressions and from the body of my get items.

I will select the value the random function will help with that needs the first, the minimum value, which would be one and then the last value, and as we don't know um how many items our list contains, we would just calculate this with the length function and go for the body of get items again and from that we will select.

Value at this point we will save our flow, select, run flow, it runs successfully and what we now can obtain is the schema of the output, so I will copy this here.

And edit my flow again and what we now want to do is we want to parse this information.

So that we can um more easily refer to the uh list columns that we got from the compose action, so the content here, of course, is the outputs of compose, and now we will. I will paste this in select done so now it auto generated this schema here.

For me, I will select a new step and we will post an adaptive card to teams, so I will be searching for microsoft teams and I will select the post adaptive card in chat or channel and we will be posting into a channel and select the team id and I will select again the team and the channel id is the general channeler for me and now we need to have an adaptive card payload. So how do we do this? We will head over to adaptivecards.io, slash designer.

I can get rid of this and this and this as I don't need this, and I don't need this as well and this whole empty column. I don't need this.

And this here as well and now we see we only have a title, a body and a button to open something and as we can see, this will be represented here in this json format as well. So I will copy this and go back to my flow and we'll just paste it in boost.

And then get the title: speeding things up a little bit last thing that we need to do is the version, so this is currently here 1.5. I need to go to 1.3, we'll save this.
