is
a
multi
multi-platform
ip,
where
it's
gaming,
comic
books

animation,

of
which
feed
each
other
meal,
and
I
are
massive
nerdy
gamers
have
been

years.
Children
have
gotten
the
way
of
that,
but
we
still
play
a
lot
of
games,
both
tabletop
and
in
video
games
and
our
goal.
Our
our
desire
for
years
has
been
to
make
a
really
great
game,
so
we're
building
a
tcg
right
now
and
having
a
great
time
amazing.

so
I
think
it
gives
a
lot
of
new
things
to
both
gamers
and
game
developers.
So
when
you
think
about
game
developer,
it
takes
some
adjustment
to
do
you
kind
of
give
up
certain
control
at
least
how
economists
and
games
existed
in
web
2
world
is
very
different
from
how
how
they
are
operating
in
web
3.

World
developers
used
to
have
like
more
control
over
the
prices
of
items
in
their
own
game
that
they
designed
now
it's
all
open
market,
but
I
think
it
it
opens
up
the
space
for
experimentation
for
developers.
It's
similar
to
previous
computing
platforms
like
ios,
if
you're,
if
you're
there
in
2008
or
building
on
top
of
facebook.
In
very
early
of
that
platform,
I
think
web
3
is
similar
in
that
for
game
developers,
including
other
developers.
It's
an
opportunity.
It's
a
green
field,
it's
a
new
place
where
they
can
experiment
and
try
things.

Gaming
is
very
competitive
in
in
traditional
platforms,
be
it
steam
or
mobile
platforms
or
consoles,
and
so
a
lot
of
things
are
figured
out
for
the
game
developer
in
terms
of
user
acquisition.
All
of
the
best
practices
for
the
web
too,
but
it's
also
very
competitive,
and
so
the
opposite
is
this
new
world.
Where
nothing
is
figured
out.
It's
super
early.
We
saw
a
couple
of
v1s
of
web3
gaming,
but
it's
not
as
competitive.
If
you
deliver
something
compelling,
you
get
the
attention.

Yeah,
I
think
I
totally
agree
with
what
sasha
has
said
from
the
developers
perspective,
so
I
want
to
add
from
the
gamer's
perspective,
I
think
that's
really
we're
seeing
a
disruption
to
the
traditional
or
web
2
gaming,
because
you
know
like
with
the
evidence
of
decentralization
energies
and
tokenomics
that
come
with
the
blockchain.
So
one
of
the
most
significant
features,
I
think,
is
ownership,
so
blockchain
really
enables
players
to
truly
own
their
in-game
tokens
or
assets.

So
in
traditional
games,
for
example,
players
purchase
digital
items
like
skins,
etc,
but
they
they're
not
really
owning
them,
because
the
gaming
platforms
could
could
change
the
rules
as
they
say,
fit,
and
take
away
everything.
So
right
now,
when
game
assets
become
end
of
teens,
that's
really
a
new
level
of
assurance
for
the
players
on
their
rights
and
also
with
the
introduction
of
tokenomics,
and
also
the
emergence
of
play
to
earn
models,
etc.

We're
really
seeing
a
new
paradigm
change,
but
also
another
like
also
in
terms
of
interoperability
and
compulsibility.
I
know
that
is
to
take
some
time
to
really
get
there,
but
because
of
the
decentralization
and
open
source
nature,
I

think
really.
Blockchain
technology
has
the
potential
to
allow
gamers
to
interact
across
various
ecosystems.

totally
agree
with
what
everybody
said
and
as
a
gamer,
it
feels
to
me,
like
the
blockchain
allows
us
to
do
to
mirror
a
real
world
experience.
The
same
way
I
played
magic
gathering
for
years.
I
had
physical
cards.
Those
cards
I
could
trade
I
could
buy.
I
could
sell
them.
You
know
they
were
a
thing
that
I
actually
owned
as
opposed
to
owned
an
access
to.
So
if
my
kids
are
paying
for
at
night
longer
skin,
they
can't
sell
it.

Yeah,
I
think
business
models
so
to
speak
in
gaming
changed
over
time.
So
before
even
mobile
came
around
people
were
used
to
this
particular
model.
Where
they
paid
a
lot
of
money
up
front,
then
there
was
a
big
hype
around
free
to
play
like
roughly
15
years
ago
or
so,
and
then
that
one
kind
of
like
saturated
at
some
point
people
started
seeing
that
games
became
more
exploitative
as
opposed
to
how
it
was
promised
free
to
play.
So
I
I
think,
we've
seen
kind
of
like
something
similar
now
with
like
play
to
earn.

I
think
it's
nothing
new
but
like
at
the
same
time
we're
still
figuring
out
this
new
model.
What
does
it
mean
like
play
to
earn,
for
example,
at
human
guild?
We're
not
big
fans
of
play
to
earn?
I
think
too
many
things
in
crypto
are
tilted
on
the
incentive
side
of
things
it
started
with
like
d5
summer,
then
nfts
had
something
similar
and
I
think
we're
trying
to
put
founders
back
to
focus
on
gameplay
and
like
fun,
things
and
people
pay
for
entertainment.

Play-To-End
games
are
not
the
the
same
demographics
that
play
the
traditional
games
right.
So
they
really
they
don't
they
don't
care.
If
the
games
are
interesting
or
you
like
that,
they're
from
triple
a
games
or
the
house
how
nicest
graphics
they
just
want
to
earn
and
they
change
the
platforms
depending
on
the
the
yield
that
they
get
so
so
back
to
how?
How
do
we
have
the
mesa?

The
mass
adoption
from
the
mainstream
gamers-
I
think
user
experience-
is
really
the
key
here
and
I
think
it's
necessary
to
bridge
the
gap
and
tap
into
the
mainstream
use
space
of
gaming.
So,
obviously,
in
order
to
make
that
to
work,
we
need
to
have
the
right
infrastructure
in
place,
and
you
know
we
just
can't
imagine
the
transition
to
happen
with
all
these
conjectures
and
high
guest
fees
from
the
blockchain.

mean,
I
think
you
know
my
husband
was
a
gaming
journalist
for
years.
He
did,
he
hosted
the
activation
podcast,
and
so,
when
I
first
started
getting
the
space
he
was
like
blockchain
is
terrible.
It's
terrible
for
games,
it's
terrible
for
the
environment,
it's
terrible
for
everything
and
now
he's
completely
reversed,
and
some
of
it,
I
think,
is
just
misconceptions.

So
how
can
we
reward
the
player?
How
can
they
become
more
powerful,
as
opposed
to
just
just
the
game
pieces
becoming
more
powerful?
So
that
is
definitely
a
balance
that
we
have
to
take,
but
it
was
a
balance
that
we
were
taking
back
in
world
of
warcraft
days
when
people
were
buying
gold
on
ebay.
So
it
is
just
a
thing
that
we
need
to
deal
with.

a
thing
that
we
need
to
hedge
for
and
we
need
to
be
making
consumer
products
that
are
affordable,
not
where
somebody
needs
nine
thousand
dollars
to
buy
enough
pieces
to
play
a
game
like
that's,
that's
never
going
to
be
adoptable
and
then
there's
a
ton
of
problems,
because
there
is
a
lot
of
fraud
in
the
blockchain
and
so
making
a
place
where
people
feel
safe,
where
they
are
protected,
where
they
don't,
they
won't
get
taken
advantage
of.
We
have
a
long
way
to
go
and
a
lot
to
build
for
that.

I
think
so.
I
definitely
think
so
that,
as
we
just
discussed,
the
usability
bar
is
like
really
high
in
gaming
and
generally
speaking,
in
like
in
a
web
today.
So
I
think
it
has
to
be
that
blockchain
is
like
almost
like
hidden,
there's,
still,
probably
some
wallet
interaction
that
people
have
to
do,
but
maybe
even
that
can
be
like
abstracted
away.

we,
like,
I
think,
near
as
a
technology
improved
a
bit
on
usability,
but
it's
not
like
it's
it's
v1
or
v2
of
evolution
when
it
comes
to
usability
actually
quick
thing
on
that
usability.

in
early

game
studios
and
teaching

of
them
actually
were
interested.

really

early

education

saying

there's
food

scams
and

it's

volatile.

education

friction

start.

is
infuriating

to
the

people

start

mobile

we
just
need
to
get
there.

going
to
be
some
time
and
in
the
meantime

can
make

limitations

choose,
emerge

centralized

gaming

trying

solution

as

limitations.

removing

the

up
until

recently,

javascript
as
a
smart
contract.

there

agoric

teams
who

did
it
in
in
web3
before
this
senior
is
not
the
first
one.

But
I
think
it
also
is
a
big
one
for
gaming,
because
there
are
a
lot
of
independent
game
developers,
smaller
studios,
who
prefer
like
something
like
javascript
they're,
like
tens
of
millions
of
people
who
know
javascript
today
in
the
world,
there's
a
fraction
of
them
who
are
like
interested
in
gaming,
exploring
web3
gaming,
and
so
I
think
that
will
bring
a
lot
more
experimentation
into
the
space.
So
that's
also
cool.

do
think
one
of
the
other
things
that
that,
in
addition
to
just
sort
of
the
computing
power,
there's
also
just
the
tooling
so
like
there's,
no
really
great
fiat
on-ramp.
That
is
super
smooth,
especially
like
in
the
united
states.
We
have
a
lot
of
regulations.
People
are
coming
kind
of
really
coming
hard
after
crypto,
so
until
there's
a
really
easy
way
for
us
to
like
exist
in
blockchain
with
fiat.

Cryptography
is
obstructed
away,
so
those
things
are
like
really
important
for
game
developers,
because
after
all,
they
want
to
go
after
traditional
game
developers,
not
a
small
group
that
exists
today
in
web
3
gaming,
and
then
another
piece
is
finality.
So
I
think,
finality
being
just
a
couple
seconds
allows
people
to
build
near
real-time
experiences
on
your
another
kind
of
finalities
like
let's
say
eight
seconds
ten
seconds,
then
you
need
to
figure
out
essentially
like
what
the
player
will
be
doing
while
they're
waiting
for
confirmation.

So
we
really
think
that
it's
true
near
uses,
pool
of
state
also
to
secure
the
network
and
in
prevent
sharding
to
make
transactions
faster
and
low
cost
so
based
on
near
october's
and
and
our
app
chains
in
the
outburst
ecosystem
could
really
enjoy
the
usability,
scalability,
affordability,
high
performance
and
interoperability
with
other
networks
such
as
we
can
also
connect
with
ethereum
wire
rebel
bridge
and
also
connect
with
cosmos
or
polkadot
with
ibc.
So
also
on
a
personal
note.

many

the
same
considerations.

we
looked
into
basically
every
chain
and
near
just
absolutely
made
sense
for
user,

usability
environmental
factors
which
were
really
important
to
us
in

team

was
just
the
human
factor:
they're

grown-ups.

we
all

should
all
be

pushing

ownership
over

assets,

governance

think
about
it
as

iterative
experimental

this
year
on

year
of
more
people

launching
so
by
the
end

year,
we're
going
to
have
maybe

dozen

launches

think
it
will
be
like
really
good
learnings
for
the
community
next
year.

improve

see
what
worked,

didn't
work,

to
increase
retention?

sure
that
will
be
an
issue,

tend
to
think
about
it.

future

see

mass
adoption

that
in

process

bringing

more
mainstream
users

industry
talents
to

this
point

traditional
gaming
is
already
very
highly
competitive,

I
think
a
lot
of
talents
out
there
and
and
the
visionaries
and
and
they
are
moving
to
the
webs,
the
gaming
space
as
well.
So
I
think
that's
also
a
very
optimistic
sign.

It'll
start,
and
I
think
a
lot
of
it
in
five
years
has
to
do
with
what
does
the
us
government
say
regulatory
regarding
everything
with
blockchain,
it's
very,
very
unclear
and
we're
all
trying
to
do
our
best
and
act
in
the
best
way.
We
can,
but
there's
a
lot
of
lack
of
regulatory
clarity
on
anything
regarding
blockchain
assets.

I
think
another
thing
crypto
also
tends
to
go
in
cycles.
There
are
like
a
lot
of
like
bullet
markets.
If,
if
we're
going
into
global
recession
right
now,
which
seems
like
it's
it's
happening
depending
on
the
definition
of
recession,
then
we
might
see
maybe
some
period,
maybe
a
couple
years
of
decreased
interest.
It
will
just
lead
to
like
in
previous
bear
market
less
people
entering
the
space
in
a
given
months.

I
would
say
last:
bear
market
was
a
lot
harder,
like
I
remember
like
just
getting
started
working
on
near
and
seeing
that
there
are
only
30
developers,
three
zero
joining
every
month
into
the
crypto
space,
and
then
95
of
them
go
into
ethereum,
so
you're
thinking
about
like
okay,
like
we
have
this
one
developer,
that
all
of
the
other
chains
will
fight
for
every
month.
That
looks
like
very
depressing.

Yeah,
I
think
already
sasha
and

have
already
made
all
these
good
points
and-
and
I
think
user
experience
like
we
mentioned
and
then
the
regulatory
risk,
and
also
the
you
know
the
awareness
or
education
right.
So
I
think
that's
pretty
much
it
and
we
still
have
we're
still
at
a
really
early
stage
and
also
obviously
the
crypto
winter.

Yeah,
I
think
I
actually
look
at
the
bear
market
with
like
a
little
bit
of
hope.
I
think
the
hype
is
dangerous.
I
think
it's
dangerous
for
a
regular
person.
I
think
they
come
in.
They
see
the
noise,
they
jump
into
a
thing
and
they
they
really
lose
money,
and
I
don't
want
to
be
part
of
somebody
losing
money.
I
want
to
be
part
of
somebody
coming
in
buying
a
product
that
they
enjoy
playing
and
not
thinking
about
what
the
exit,
the
the
hype,
the
like
mooning.

All
of
that
stuff
is
to
me
dangerous
in
the
long
run
for
re
for
a
real
person,
so
I
actually
think
the
bear
market
can
allow
us
to
build
real
things
that
real
people
would
want
to
participate
in
the
other
challenge.

think
coming
back
to
what
I
think
you
were
talking
about
your
last
question,
that
gaming
has
that
other
projects
don't
is
in
gaming.
You
also
have
to
deal
with
gambling
regulations,
because
there
is
this
asset
that
you
can
sell
different
countries.

that's
really
interesting
because
I
think
we've
seen
a
huge
can
of
worms
being
opened
up,
especially
around
europe,
but
with
loot
boxes
and
things
so
the
way
that
crypto
approaches
that
and
the
way
that
founders
and
developers
approach
it.
It's
gonna
be
really
crucial,
but
I'm
just
gonna
pick
up
on
one
thing
that
you
mentioned
there
lisa
you
mentioned
hype,
and
now
I
have
an
opportunity
to
make
my
biggest
plug
of
the
panel,
which
is
neocon
this
year.
It's
back
it's
bigger
than
ever.

is
about
building
beyond
the

on

picked

inspired
you
to

pursue
the
avenues

us,
when
human
guilt
started,
we
were
thinking
more
broadly
than
gaming.

thinking
about
different
kinds
of
creators.
When
we
started
working
with
game
developers,
it
was
actually
very
bottoms
up.

was
independent
game
developers
and
those
are
very
similar
to
kinds
of
creators.
We
were
working
with
before
musicians,
artists,
those
kinds
of
game
developers
like
independent
game
developers,
they're
more
like
creators
than
like
businesses.

think
it's
more
creative
on
that
front.
In
our
case,
so
we
started
with
creators,
many
kinds
of
creators,
I'm
very
passionate
about
changing
the
equation
for
the
for
the
creators.
We
swept
three
beats
music
industries.
Extremely
consolidate,

for
art,
like
internet
exists
for
like
20
30
years,
but
the
how
things
are
done
is
still
largely
offline.

gaming
is
just
another
example

that,

we
decided
to
double
down
on
gaming

saw

organic
interest
last
summer,
roughly
a
year
ago

paris

the
first
nft
marketplace

dozen
or
so
creators.
They
were
mostly
artists.
They
didn't
have
maybe
game
development
skills,
but
we
saw
this

very
early
attempts
at
creating
trading
card
games
and
that's
why
we
kind
of
started
to
look
more
into
this
and

doubling
down.
We
started
going
to
game
jumps.

jumps
is
kind
of
like
hackathon,
but
people
create
games
instead
and
we
started
seeing
more
and
more
smaller
game
studios
approaching
us,
so
we
more
and
more
as
we
started.
Looking
into
this
more
and
more,
we
also
became
kind
of
like
oh.

is
gaming,
go
to
guys
on
ear,
so
it
kind
of
became
self-fulfilling.

extent
