A
Of
June
2018
before
we
have
our
moment
of
reflection,
I
would
ask.
We
have
two
members
of
council
who
would
like
to
speak
on
the
passing
of
two
former
elected
officials,
one
from
Canada
and
one
from
Osgood.
So
if
I
could
ask
councillor
Wilkinson
to
offer
remarks
in
honor
of
the
late
Ken
Braun
former
alderman
as
it
was
called
back
then
for
the
city
of
Canada
Thank.
C
You
mr.
mayor
ken
was
a
long-term
resident
of
Canada
and
was
very
involved
in
the
community
for
many
years
feeling
being
president
of
the
Community
Association
and
helping
with
a
lot
of
events
in
Canada
and
1985.
He
was
elected
to
the
City
of
Ottawa
Council
to
represent
that
the
Beaverbrook
area,
and
he
was
always
the
type
of
person
that
was
always
helpful
and
calm
about
doing
things
for
other
people,
and
he
would
keep
things
moving
very
well.
C
He
loved
the
very
dedicated
to
both
his
family
and
the
community
he's
an
engineer,
and
it
was
an
engineer
and
worked
in
the
high
technology
industry,
as
many
people
in
the
kinetic
area
do
but,
and
they
loved
it
was
also
very
involved
with
his
local
church
and
was
the
founding
member
of
it.
So
the
funeral
was
actually
tomorrow
and
the
Wake
is
tonight,
but
I
thought
I.
As
a
former
council
member
I'd
like
just
to
ask
that
we
remember
him
at
a
council
state.
D
Thank
you.
Your
worship
would
really
sad
news
that
mr.
McAvoy
passed
away
on
June
9,
June
19
mr.
McAvoy
served
as
the
City
Council
and
the
former
township
of
Osgood,
and
he
served
the
resident
for
almost
12
years.
Phil
was
not
only
involved
in
municipal
politics,
but
also
he
was
a
home
builder,
an
area
of
Greeley
and
Metcalf.
He
was
a
proud
owner
of
an
owner
and
operator
of
popular
Grove
campground
in
Greeley
over
50
years.
D
This
campground
really
provided
Osgood,
Ward,
family
and
friends
with
many
many
years
of
found,
memories
with
the
only
indoor
pool
and
outdoor
water
slide,
the
McEvoy
family
has
been
routed
and
Osgood
Township,
since
the
mid
1800s
when
they
purchased
land
after
they
get
emigrated
from
Ireland,
which
is
still
in
their
family.
Today,
Phil
will
be
remembered
for
his
dedication
to
public
service
and
to
our
community
for
years
to
come.
Also,
mr.
McAvoy
will
be
remembered
by
his
wife,
Eleanor
and
their
children,
bath,
Chris
and
then,
along
with
their
five
grandchildren.
So
today,
we'll
have
thank.
A
You
thank
you
very
much
on
behalf
of
the
City

Ottawa.
We
express
our
condolences
to
the
family
and
friends
of
the
late
can
bran,
as
well
as
the
late
Phillip
McEvoy,
and
if
those
who
are
able
to
could
please
stand
and
remain
standing
for
a
moment
of
personal
reflection
and
thoughts
to
the
families
of
these
two
former
elected
officials.

Mayor

facilitated
a
historic
moment.
You
have
brought
together
citizens
of
your
municipality
who
are
of
African

our
allies.
E
You

an
occasion

brings
together
the
city,

the
police
in
alliance
with
us
people

happen
mayor
your
adoption

descent
and

of
African
descent.
E
E
E
The
decade
was
adopted
by
Canada
in
January
2018
and
Ontario
2017
and
Europe
Mayor
had
adopted
it
on
March
21
2018,
which,
coincidentally,
was
the
two
hundred
and
twenty-fifth
anniversary
to
the
day
of
the
anti-slavery
bill
in
the
British
Empire,
which
launched,
which
was
launched
by
Peter
Martin,
an
enslaved
man
with
John
Graves
Simcoe,
and
that
day
marked
a
critical
day
in
the
history
of
Canada.
Bringing
us
today.
E
A
Thank
you
very
much
June
for
those
kind
words
and
thank
you
for
bringing
so
many
family
and
friends
here
to
celebrate
and
I
know
that
you're
going
to
go
up
to
the
counselor's
lounge
for
some
refreshments.
Shortly
after
the
next

It's
now
my
pleasure
to
welcome
my

to
build
a
strong
sense
of
community.
She
is

key
issues
that

A
She
is
the

and
the
sense

many
key
issues
and
she's
had
enormous
impact
on
the
efforts
to
preserve
unique
character
and
sustainability
of
the
glens.
Her
influence
has
been
far-reaching
and
her
involvement
with
community
organizations
and
local
government
demonstrates
the
impact
people
can
have
in
the
decision-making
process.
A
Agnes

instrumental
in
establishing
the
Knox
Dell
Maryville
Council

community
associations,
which
she

she's,
been

in
the
Ottawa

advocating
for
better

more
recently,

a
popular

seniors
at
the
Tanglewood

She
is
old.
She
also
plays
a
significant
role,
volunteer

with
the
Canadian
Polish
Congress
and
was
on
the
board
of
that
organization
from
2001
to
2014.

A
F
Mara
watt,
some
unexpected
counsellors,
colleagues
and
friends.
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
it
is
a
great
honor
and
a
proud
moment
for
me
to
be
given
this
award
and
being
recognized
by
the
council
and
my
peers.
It
is
me
today
standing
in
front
of
you
and
receiving
this
award,
but
there
were
many
people
who
have
mentored
me
taught
me
new
skills
and
supported
me
in
many
different
ways.
F
I
would
like
to
thank
my
mentor,
counselor
Harden,
who
first
introduced
me
to
the
municipal,
mace
and
now,
especially
cancer
eglee,
who
has
been
always
supportive,
encouraging
and
teaching
me
new
ways
how
to
deal
with
difficult
problems
and
challenges.
Thank
you.
I
am
grateful
to
everyone
who
has
been
assisting
me.
My
colleagues
from
Federation
of
Citizens
Association,
my
friends
from
the
Knoxville
Merivale
Council,
and
my
fellow
grants
community.
You
have
been
there
when
I
needed.
You
I'm
also
grateful
for
my
ethnic
Polish
community
that
allow
me
to
build
Canadian
diversity
and
enrich
our
Ottawa
mosaic.
F
I
see
many
familiar
faces
in
the
audience.
Thank
you.
All
this
award
is
a
symbol
of
our
joint
accomplishment.
Finally,
I
strongly
believe
that
getting
this
special
honor
wouldn't
have
been
possible
without
my
family,
moral
support
and
inspiration.
So
to
my
husband
and
to
my
mother.
Thank
you.
This
is
the
fun.

Thank

So
those
staff
who
have
items
you're
free
to
leave
hydro,
Ottawa
Holdings,
we'll
invite
Jim
Durrell,
chair
of
the
board
of
directors
and
Brice
Conrad,
a
president
and
CEO
of
Ottawa
hydro,
who
are
already
at
the
table.
A
J
J
This
past
year,
once
again
has
seen
hydro,
hydro,
one
the
world
of
hydro
being
a
political
football
provincially
in
other
municipalities,
it's
an
easy
ball
to
kick
around
a
field
and
I
think
that
each
one
of
you
would
acknowledge
personally
that
your
hydro-
and
it
is
your
hydro-
it
is
owned
by
the
citizens
of
Ottawa-
has
more
than
effectively
delivered
the
services
to
them.
So
I
thought
I
might
focus
just
a
number
of
highlights.
J
What
I
call
the
good
news
story,
the
other
side
of
hydro,
that
people
acknowledge
from
time
to
time
people
witness
most
of
the
time.
But
frankly,
when
we
turn
the
switch
in
our
house,
we
expect
the
lights
to
come
on
and
ninety-nine
point
nine,
nine,
nine,
nine,
nine
nine
nine
percent
of
the
time
they
do
and
when
things
are
that
good,
you
kind
of
forget
all
of
the
good
things
that
happen
and
focus
on
the
point:
zero:
zero,
zero,
zero,
zero,
zero,
zero
one.
J
So
to
start
with,
as
you
know,
the
city
of
Ottawa
and
hydro
engaged
in
your
light
conversion
to
LED.
This
has
been
an
enormous
success
for
the
City
of
Ottawa
and
the
taxpayers
of
Ottawa
starting
2020
you'll
find
an
additional
six
million
dollars
in
your
pocket
every
year.
That's
a
lot
of
money,
and
it's
just
to
me
the
tip
of
the
iceberg
on
how
hydro
Ottawa,
as
your
company
and
the
City
of
Ottawa,
can
start
to
work
more
closely
together
in
the
future.
J
J
You
are
challenged,
obviously
by
the
amount
of
money
that
you
can
allot
every
year
to
achieve
this
and
I
we've
been
working
with
staff
and
we
think
there's
a
great
opportunity,
much
like,
in
the
light
conversion
for
hydro,
Ottawa
and
the
city
to
speed
this
up
and
using
almost
in
principle
the
same
model
that
we
used
for
the
lighthouse
conversion.
Get
this
done
much
much
quicker,
which
again
will
save
you
a
considerable
amount
of
money
and
not
tax
your
depth
or
anything
else,
because
we
could
fund
it.
J
So
these
are
the
types
of
things
that
I
think
are
well
worth,
while
looking
at
as
we
move
forward
your
service,
reliability
for
hydro
Ottawa
is
one
of
the
best
in
Ontario
and
I.
Think
that
speaks
to
the
men
and
women
who
work
at
hydro
Ottawa,
because
we
live
in
a
climate,
as
we
all
know,
that
is,
that
is
at
times
can
be
very
harsh
and
I
think
the
response
of
our
people
in
our
mini
ice
storm
in
April
to
the
wind
storms.
We
have
had
been
tremendous
and
I.
J
Our
shoddy
air
opened
in
this
past
year
and
I
know
many
of
you
who
have
gone
down
to
witness
this
iconic
really
piece
of
Canada
and
is
now
100%
owned
by
hydro
Ottawa
and
thus
the
City
of
Ottawa
and
its
taxpayers.
It's
not
only
a
place
that
tourists
can
now
start
to
go
and
enjoy
and
and
see
something
that's
truly
remarkable,
but
it
will
pave
the
way
forward
for
future
city
councils
and
for
hydro
Ottawa
to
have
a
very
strong
and
sound
financial
footing,
we're
working
away.
J
As
you
know,
the
city
of
Ottawa's,
committed
to
being
a
smart
city
and
Hydra
Watteau,
is
taking
a
leadership
position
in
this
regard.
Through
our
smart
grid.
Network
as
Lance
Jeffrey
de
sculls
describes
it
a
self-healing
Network,
and
we
continue
to
surround
the
city
with
our
fiber,
our
dark
fiber,
and
we
would
hope
in
the
next
couple
of
years
to
have
this
completed
and
move
Ottawa
into
the
22nd
century
faster
than
it
might
normally
go.
We
continue
to
spend
100
million
dollars
on
infrastructure,
as
we
continue
to
upgrade
our
our
utility
services.
J
J
Beautiful,
Saturday
and
I
went
to
my
mobile
phone,
not
being
the
or
being
the
advanced
technical
wizard.
That
I
am
hit
the
hydro,
auto
app
and
it
showed
me
there
was
a
planned
outage
and
I
looked
over
at
my
wife,
Sam
and
I
said
darling.
This
will
be
fixed
in
about
45
minutes.
Here
it's
a
great
mobile,
app
and
encouraged
through
your
newsletters
through
your
communications
with
your
people,
use
it
it's
phenomenal
and
if
you're
not
using
it
yourself,
I
would
encourage
you
to
dial
it
up.
It
tells
you
everything
you
ever
wanted
to
know.
J
J
That's
often
used
by
a
lot
of
people,
and
sometimes
it's
not
practiced
as
much
as
it
should
be,
and
this
year
I'm
very
proud
to
say
that
the
employees
of
hydro
Ottawa
have
given
back
three
hundred
and
seventy
thousand
dollars
to
two
hundred
thousand
to
the
breast
cancer
as
part
of
our
million
dollar
commitment,
that
is
out
of
their
pockets,
not
out
of
taxpayers,
pockets
and
another
hundred
and
seventy
thousand
dollars
to
United.
Way
and
I
applaud
the
people,
the
men
and
women
who
work
for
hydro.
J
I
guess
last
but
not
least,
and
only
because
it's
raised
every
year
and
it's
again
a
good
news
story.
As
you
all
know,
you've
got
twenty
one
point:
nine
million
dollars
from
hydro
and
people
continue
to
say.
Why
does
why?
Do
you
take
this
money
lower
my
bills
generally
they're
the
people
dealing
with
Hydra,
one
who
say
that
and.
J
As
you
know,
hydro
is
a
highly
highly
regulated
business
and
we
ostensibly
have
two
costly
coal
companies.
We
have
operating
costs
and
we
have
capital
costs
the
operating
costs,
representing
mostly
our
distribution,
business
and
and
we
do
not
make
any
profit
off
it.
It's
largely
a
flow
through
we
buy,
we
distribute
and
that's
it.
J
It's
out
of
our
capital,
costs
that,
through
the
OEB
or
Anna
Theriot,
Energy
Board,
that
we
earn
a
regulated
return
and
they
give
us
a
regulated
return
on
our
capital
cost
to
encourage
us
to
spend
more
money
in
infrastructure
and
the
more
money
we
spend.
An
infrastructure
should,
in
theory,
mean
a
more
reliable
hydro
service
to
you
and
your
customers,
and
it's
out
of
that
that
we
pay
the
dividend.
J
If
you
did
not
accept
the
money,
we
would
merely
keep
it
ourselves,
use
it
to
increase
our
equity
and
reduce
some
other
capital
costs,
and
it
would
not
affect
the
rates
under
any
circumstance.
It's
confusing
to
the
average
individual
I
understand
that
I
respect
that
we
tried
in
a
letter
once
there
was
some
media
attention
to
it.
I
had
asked
Bryce
to
send
a
letter
to
all
of
you
once
again
explain
and
it's
it's
worthy
again,
not
to
tell
you
how
to
use
your
newsletters.
J
J
We
have
one
returning
board
member,
andrea
johnson,
who
has
done
an
exceedingly
good
job
as
councilors
Wilkinson
and
harder
wood
would
know,
and
we
asked
that
she
be
reappointed,
and
we
have
three
new
counsel.
Three
new
board
members
that
their
CVs
are
included.
We've
done
an
extensive
amount
of
work
to
find
these
people
and
we
think
that
they
will
serve
you
and
the
citizens
of
Ottawa
very
effective
effectively
over
the
next
few
years
and
last
I
would
ask
you,
appoint
our
auditors,
KPMG
and
I.
Thank
you,
your
worship
and
I.
A
B
You,
your
worship
and
good
morning
to
you
and
to
members
of
council
and
to
chair
Durrell
and
mr.
Conrad.
Thank
you
for
your
presentation
today.
Indeed,
it
was
a
good
year.
Twenty
one
point:
nine
million
thank-yous
to
you
and
your
board
for
your
presentation
today,
just
in
the
interest
of
time,
I'll
get
straight
into
my
questions.
I'm
concerned
about
threats,
moving
forward
to
the
corporation
and
I'd
like
to
know
with
the
new
provincial
government.
That's
coming
into
power,
one
of
their
platform
issues
was
to
lower
the
Hydra
rates
across
Ontario.
B
B
J
J
We've
been
regularly
kept
up
to
date
as
to
the
advancements
that
we
have
one
of
the
issues
quite
frankly
and
interesting
that
you
would
ask
it
because
you,
his
name
Matt
Davies,
is
down
as
a
new
board.
Member
and
Matt
is,
if
I
could
say
almost
the
head
of
cyber
security
for
Siena
worldwide
corporation,
and
it
was
one
of
the
areas
that,
in
my
humble
opinion,
we
as
a
board
needed
to
strengthen
our
our
own
perspective.
J
We've
got
a
lot
of
talent
at
the
board,
but
I
think
we
all
know
what
we
don't
know
when
cybersecurity
is
is
something
that's
of
grave
concern
to
us.
I
know
it
is
to
Brice
and
our
our
people.
While
we
deal
with
it
effectively,
I'm
comfortable
as
best
we
can
from
an
administrative
perspective
and
from
a
board
perspective,
and
it's
clearly
in
our
eyesight
on
how
a
rates
will
affect
us,
I
wish
I'll,
let
Brice
take
a
crack
at
it.
J
None
of
us
really
know
counselor,
and
we
know
that
the
past
government
froze
rates
tried
to
do
things
and
they
did
that
by
spreading.
No
capital
costs
over
a
long
period
of
time,
which
may
have
looked
good
politically,
but
it's
going
to
cost
us
all
a
considerable
amount.
More
add
more
money,
there's
not
a
lot
of
magic.
The
infrastructure
issues
that
Ontario
faces
is
well-documented,
and
it's
it's
not
the
problem
of
the
last
government
or
this
government.
It's
a
problem.
J
Quite
frankly
that
was
born
probably
40
years
ago,
and
each
successive
provincial
government
has
not
adequately
dealt
with
the
issues
of
infrastructure.
As
a
result,
the
major
nuclear
plants
are
all
in
the
various
states
of
disrepair.
The
cost
to
repairing
them
is
enormous
and
we
are
still
that's
the
major
source
of
our
energy.
J
So
I,
you
know:
I
I'm,
very
respectful
of
premier
elect
Ford's
desire
to
grab
control
of
hydro
hydro
rates,
I,
don't
know
how
you
do
it
frankly,
one
of
the
things
that's
fascinating
and
is
a
constant
challenge
for
us.
Is
that
look
at
your
own
homes
each
one
of
you,
your
furnaces,
are
much
more
energy-efficient.
Your
fridges,
your
stoves,
everything
we
have
is
energy-efficient,
so
our
consumption
levels
continue
to
drop
the
consumption
levels
that
hydro
Ottawa
enjoyed.
J
If
I
could
put
that
in
quotation
marks
years
ago,
are
nowhere
near
what
they
are
today
and
I
assure
you
that
ten
years
from
now
they'll
even
be
less
what
we
do
then,
as
a
result
to
protect
you
and
council,
as
we
are,
what
I
call
horizontal
expansion
and
we
look
at
continuing
to
possibly
purchase
companies
purchase
other
hydros
that
are
smaller
and
we
can
effectively
manage
at
a
much
reduced
cost.
We
look
at
hydroelectric
energy,
such
as
the
shaadi
air
and
other
opportunities.
J
G
G
As
as
the
chair
said,
there
is
no
magic
bullet
I'm,
not
completely
aware
of
how
he
will
get
to
12
percent
I
know
he
has
publicly
mused
and
about
taking
the
Hydra
one
dividend
that
is
paid
to
the
province
in
sort
of
putting
that
back
into
putting
that
back
to
ratepayers.
If
you
will
he's
also
amused
about
taking
some
of
the
programs
that
we
currently
offer
and
putting
them
on
the
tax
rolls,
as
opposed
to
putting
them
on
the
right
bit
on
the
right
base.
G
So
that's
just
moving
from
one
one
side
of
the
equation
to
the
other.
I
think
there
are
efficiencies
efficiencies
to
be
had
in
the
sector,
I'd
be
lying
if
I
said
otherwise.
I
think
there
is
room
for
consolidation.
We
still
have
far
too
many
hydro
utilities
in
the
province
of
Ontario
and
if,
if
premier
left,
four
can
do
nothing
but
encourage
and
sort
of
motivate
consolidation,
I
think
that
would
render
some
efficiencies
into
the
system.
Will
it
get
12%
I
don't
know,
do.
G
G
K
As
you
know,
you
were
directed
in
the
past
to
negotiate
I
drove
one
with
Ottawa
hydro
and
you
weren't
very
hard
to
try
and
make
a
deal,
and
obviously
it
was
you
know,
and
in
a
day
it
was
not
going
to
be.
Now
we
have
a
new
government
and
our
new
premier
will
you
take
on
to
negotiate
with
them
once
more
or
would
that
be
something
that
you
would
require
a
direction
from
Council
to
direct
you
to
do
that.
J
We
thoroughly
there
was
what
I
would
call
obfuscation
for
years,
as
we
looked
at
trying
to
purchase
Hydra
one
in
our
area
and
move
it
forward.
I
would
say
in
fairness
to
their
board,
chair
David
Dennison
and
their
president
Carm,
who
came
up
to
visit
with
Bryce
and
I,
and
we
spent
a
full
morning
together
and
Bryce
assures
me
that
the
subsequent
and
and
my
request
of
them
was
cut.
The
BS
give
us
the
straight
goods.
J
Can
we
do
this
deal
or
not,
and
Bryce
assures
me,
along
with
his
people,
that
we
were
given
the
straight
goods
and
the
straight
Goods
came
back
to
the
board,
and
it
did
not
make
economic
sense
to
you,
as
our
shareholder
or
to
our
citizens.
To
do
this
deal
and
frankly,
it
I
was
disappointed.
I
was
hoping
that
we
would
find
a
way,
a
way
included,
giving
them
a
board
seat
on
hydro
Ottawa,
giving
them
a
piece
of
hydro
Ottawa.
J
The
ability
are
the
impaired,
the
existing
hydro,
Ottawa
taxpayers,
and
we
could
not
satisfy
that
and
other
issues
and,
as
a
result,
in
Bryce.
If
you
wish
to
add
something,
please
do
it
didn't
work
and
I'm
very
simple,
simple
that
ik
to
those
of
you
counselors
that
are
in
outlying
areas
that
are
paying
higher
higher
rates
and.
J
J
We've
talked
to
lots
of
small
LD
C's
up
and
down
the
valley
and
elsewhere,
and,
quite
frankly,
it
makes
economic
every
every
imaginable
reason
it
makes
sense,
but
you're
dealing
with
local
communities
who
look
suspiciously
on
big
players
like
us
and
unless
it's
legislated
it'll,
probably
be
legitimately
five
or
more
years
before
financially.
They
have
no
choice
and
have
to
do
a
deal.
K
K
But
none
is
one
of
the
reasons
I
hate
why
it
would
be
great
if
we
can
see
I
drew
one,
you
know
become
part
of
on
wall
angel.
Just
one
final
question
is
LED
lights.
You
mentioned
and
I
guess:
LED
lights
are
more
along
the
street
lights
type
of
thing.
Is
there
a
program
for
parks
or
do
we
just
renew
renew
an
LED
lights
when
the
lights
are
required?
See
me
change.
G
G
G
L
Thank
you
very
much
deputy
Emir,
just
a
couple
of
comments
and
a
couple
of
questions.
First
of
all,
I
want
to
echo,
comes
from
Annette's
comments
about
amalgamation
between
hydro,
one
and
hydro
Ottawa,
some
sort
in
the
future,
because
in
my
community,
being
a
suburban
community
with
the
former
rural
areas
attached
to
it
we're
facing
exactly
that
same
issue,
but
now
it
becomes
a
neighbor
versus
a
neighbor
scenario.
L
Having
said
that,
I
also
would
like
to
commend
you
in
terms
of
what
you
were
talking
about
earlier.
Mr.
chair
Durrell
about
the
fact
about
the
app
that
hydro
is
produced,
and
that
has
been
a
very
much
of
a
benefit
to
the
residents
and
to
the
councillor
sitting
around
this
table.
At
least
I
can
speak
for
myself,
where
now
I
can
get
that
instant
message
from
hydro
as
to
the
power
outage
and
number
of
homes
of
residents
affected
and
so
on.
L
L
The
only
piece
of
that
that
maybe
lagging
a
little
bit
is
the
report
back
on
that
app
as
to
why
the
power
outage
occurred
in
terms
of
you
know,
was
it
blamed
on
something
and
not
blame,
but
what
is
the
reason
for
that
power
outage?
So
maybe
it's
not
on
the
same
day,
but
the
next
day
when
you
do
calculate
that
item,
to
provide
that
back
on
the
app
and
if
you
wouldn't
mind
doing
it
like
you,
do
currently
with
a
notification
to
the
counselors
as
to
say,
here's
the
reason
for
that
outage.
L
L
We
used
to
do
this
I
guess
about
three
four
years
ago,
where
we
used
to
get
at
least
a
quarterly
update
as
the
number
of
outages
in
a
particular
area
or
across
the
city
different
areas,
and
that
would
be
a
good
idea
to
rely
back
in
for
information
sake
to
the
community.
So
if
you
can
have
any
comments
on
that
that
appreciate
well.
J
We
continue
counselor
and
you
and
thank
you
for
your
comments
and
the
mobile
app.
We
continue
to
improve
it.
I
think
it's
a
very
good
suggestion.
I,
don't
know
why
we
couldn't
do
this.
I
know
that
Julie
lupinacci,
who
is
masterminds
behind
this,
is
continuing
to
improve
it.
She's
here
today
and
I'm
sure
she's
heard
your
comments,
so
we
can
try
and
do
that
in
terms
of
quarterly
update
on
outages.
Do
you
mean
add
to
all
of
Council
just
in
an
email,
yeah,
and
that
would
be
more
than
happy
to
do
that?
H
Thank
you,
I've
got
a
comment
and
a
couple
of
questions
on
the
comment.
First
of
all,
I
do
want
to
praise
the
work
that
you've
been
doing
on
the
LED
of
the
on
the
rollout
of
the
LED
streetlights
I
commented
when
we
we
had
our
occasion
our
photo-op
back
last
week,
I
believe
it
was
on
the
halfway
point
and
I
made
the
comment
that
I
haven't
received
a
single
complaint
about
the
color
temperature
or
the
lighting.
Of
course,
that
was
tempting
fate.
H
One
of
my
dear
friends
and
neighbors
confronted
me
about
how
she
could
put
her
makeup
on
or
read
a
book
underneath
the
lights
that
had
just
gone
in
on
her
street
and
especially
with
the
loss
of
a
number
of
ash
trees
on
the
street.
That
was
quite
pardon,
the
pun,
blaring
and
you
were
very
quick
to
get
the
information
back
to
me.
I
sort
of
knew
it
because
I'd
read
it
before
about
how
these
lights.
H
It
was
more
about
there
they're
actually
brighter
than
they
need
to
be,
and
you
gave
me
information
which
I
passed
on
quickly
about
how
the
system
can
quite
literally
turn
them
down
and
in
the
first
few
weeks,
once
they're
in
those
adjustments
will
be
made
and
so
I
passed
on
that
information,
so
I
think
that's
very
important
for
citizens
to
know
is
if
they're
too
bright
tell
us
rather
like
potholes,
we
can't
fill
in
those
which
people
haven't
brought
to
our
attention
yet
and
so
make
that
parallel
to
clothes.
So
thank
you
for
that
work.
H
I
know,
there's
still
a
lot
to
do,
but
the
feedback,
barring
a
couple,
has
been
almost
universally
positive
and
there's
a
fix
for
that.
I
won't
ask
you
to
crystal
ball
with
the
changes
of
government.
We
we
all
know
with
the
the
almost
certain
loss
of
cap-and-trade
and
the
money
that
a
lot
of
that
was
being
directed
towards
that
will
affect
a
number
of
programs
that
Hydra
was
helping
to
deliver
I'm,
particularly
interested
in
the
electric
vehicle
side
of
things
we
were.
We
were
all
at
the
the
national
electric
vehicle
conference
here
in
Ottawa.
H
Back
a
couple
of
months
ago,
when
hydro
made
an
announcement
about
a
partnership
with
the
the
Evie
charger
company
flow
and
a
pilot
here
in
Ottawa
I'm,
just
wondering
so
far,
whether
it's
on
that
program
for
helping
to
get
vehicle
and
chargers
installed
in
people's
homes
through
hydro
or
other
attempts
or
efforts
you're
making
to
help
build
out
the
infrastructure.
So
people
can
feel
comfortable
buying
an
electric
vehicle
and
charging
it.
Do
you
see
any
impacts
yet
or
are
there
any
certain
ones,
or
do
you
think
you
can
carry
on
with
your
plans.
G
Thanks
to
the
question
counselor-
and
it's
a
good
one,
obviously
the
partnership
that
we
announced
with
flow
two
months
ago
at
the
electric
vehicle
conference
I
still
intact.
We
have
a.
We
have
room
for
two
hundred
two
hundred
chargers
there,
two
hundred
families
or
200
homes
that
want
to
install
those
chargers
we're
up
to
about
a
hundred
and
fifteen
right.
Now
we
haven't
really
marketed
it.
So
if
there
are
people
that
are
still
interested
in
partaking
in
that
pilot,
they
still
have
time
and
they're
still
availability.
G
Putting
that
aside,
obviously
going
forward
with
the
with
the
dismantling
of
the
cap
and
trade
regime
as
I
understand,
the
green
on
programs
that
were
were
launched
have
been
effectively
wound
up
or
are
winding
up,
and
that
was
some
of
the
money
that
was
set
aside
from
the
cap
and
trade.
There
was
some
Eevee
incentive
programs
incentives.
Their
expectation
is
that
they
will
go
away.
G
Conversely,
I
mean
the
big,
the
big,
the
big
decision.
The
big
question
mark
will
be
whether
or
not
the
the
provincial
incentives
for
the
purchase
of
Eevee
cars
goes
away
and
that's
again,
I
left
my
crystal
ball
at
home
this
morning.
So
I
wouldn't
be
able
to
give
you
an
honest
answer,
but
that
that
that
program
is
still
subject
to
to
cancellation.
I
would
suggest
ya.
H
Those
crystal
balls
are
overrated,
I've
found
so
far
on
on
electric
vehicle.
Then
roll
out
one
more
question:
I'm
hearing
a
lot
from
condominium
owners.
The
boards,
who
might
be
bad
puns,
are
coming
to
mind,
charged
with
the
responsibility
of
putting
in
a
V
charging
infrastructure.
Individual
owners
who
have
a
car
would
like
to
get
one,
but
aren't
can't
be
confident
they
can
charge
it
there
have
you
engaged
at
all
with
sort
of
the
condominium
world
about
how
to
help
them
through
that
any
kind
of
guidance,
yeah.
G
And
that's
another
great
question
because
condominiums
obviously
represent
a
challenge
for
us
in
the
sense
that
they're
they're
vertical
and
in
dense,
and
they
have
traditionally
the
charging
the
plugs
in
a
garage
tend
to
be
common
area,
so
they
get
billed
to
the
corporation,
the
condo
corporation.
Obviously,
if
you
have
an
e
V
charger,
you
might
a
dedicated
your
dedicated
parking
spot
to
have
a
charge
or
attach
to
it.
G
Our
expectation
we're
trying
to
find
some
additional
sources
of
funding
to
do
that,
just
to
offset
some
of
the
cost
because,
as
you
can
appreciate,
retrofitting
an
existing
condo
corporation,
where
you're
digging
trenches
through
their
garage
is
not
a
popular
thing.
So
we're
trying
to
find
a
way
to
reduce
those
costs,
but
rest
assured
we
are
trying
to
deal
with
the
condo
issue.
H
Yeah,
thank
you.
I
think
that
there
may
be
an
important
role
collectively
between
hydro
and
and
City
Hall.
There
was
a
presenter
at
the
same
conference
from
a
belief.
It
may
have
been
Surrey
BC
where
they
had
created
sort
of
bylaws
for
condominiums
and
even
wiring
diagrams,
and
that
sort
of
thing
to
help
condo
boards,
through
this
otherwise
quite
complicated
process,
and
if
we
can
help
them
with.
That
would
be
great.
A
J
Before
I
would
like
to
pay
a
special
thanks
on
behalf
of
Council
and
the
board
to
our
three
outgoing
board
members
Doug
McClure,
T
akka
like
lashing
and
Phil
Murray
I
can
only
tell
you
that
each
one
of
those
individuals
served
us
and
Varmus
ly
well
and
served
you
enormous
ly
well
and
I.
Thank
them
for
their
service
to
hydro,
Ottawa
and.
A
I
also
want
to
I,
have
the
honor
of
being
on
the
nominating
committee
with
my
colleagues
councillors,
Wilkinson
and
harder,
and
you,
mr.
chair,
and
the
names
that
we
see
as
potential
board
members
are
very
impressive
and
we're
very
fortunate
to
have
the
caliber
of
people
sitting
on
the
board
with
you.
So
thank
you
for
the
the
work
that
you
do
to
bring
those
names
forward
and
on
that
I
ask
council
for
their
support
of
the
hydro
recommendations
carried.
Thank
you.
Elsie.
A
We
will
now
recess
to
hold
the
annual
meeting
of
the
members
of
Mao
shada
wah
markets.
Council
will
now
formally
recess
the
City
Council
meeting
and
move
into
the
annual
meeting
of
the
members
of
marche
de
wah
markets.
Mao
Shay
Ottawa
markets
was
established
by
Council
last
year
as
a
municipal
services
corporation
to
manage
the
by
word
and
Parkdale
markets.
A
Members
of
Ottawa
City
Council
said
as
the
members
of
the
Municipal
Services
Corporation
and
today
is
the
first
annual
meeting
of
the
members
of
this
corporation
in
terms
of
process
will
be
recessing
the
regular
business
of
council
in
a
few
moments,
members
should
remain
in
their
seats.
Members
of
the
public
may
remain
if
they
wish,
as
the
members
meeting
is
open
to
the
public
we'll
begin,
our
meeting
of
the
members
councillors
should
have
received
their
agenda
for
this
meeting
directly
from
the
corporate
secretary
for
mark
Shea's,
dr.
hua
market
I.
A
Think
you
have
it
here
with
the
beautiful
picture.
The
first
order
of
business
will
be
to
select
a
chair
to
preside
over
the
members
meeting
and
I'm.
Seeking
your
support
to
chair
this
portion
of
the
meeting
so
moved
by
councillor,
Dean
seconded
by
councillor,
flurry
all
those
in
favor
carried.
Thank
you
very
much
very
much
appreciate
that.
A
We
will
now
receive
a
presentation
from
the
executive
director
and
board
chair
of
Marche
Ottawa
markets
and
improve
any
matters
that
are
noted
on
the
agenda
for
the
members
meeting
and
when
the
members
meeting
is
adjourned
will
resume
the
City
Council
meeting.
So
I'd
like
to
no
need
to
introduce
up
councillor.
Dean's
I
have.
A
M
You,
mr.
mayor,
it's
a
pleasure
for
Ottawa
markets
to
be
here.
We
have
to
our
first
meeting
of
our
members
joining
me
today
is
Karen
ecchi,
our
corporate
secretary
she's
at
the
at
the
far
end
ashley
Hopkins
who's.
Our
property
manager,
who
manages
our
hard
assets,
are
our
buildings
and
and
our
leasing
and
jeff.
Darwin
is
our
executive
director
and
Doug
McClure.
