A
Philadelphia
is
working
to
attract
larger
scale.

is
Philadelphia
city
councilman,
at-large,
Derek

thanks
for
being
with
us.

A
goal
of
this
labor
is
really
to
really
jumpstart
a
hospitality
industry.
We've
had
a
great
hospitality
network
in
the
city
of
Qaddafi
and
we've
had
a
lot
of
great
events.
Come
to
the
city
from
the
NFL
Draft,
the
DNC
Convention,
the
RNC
convention
in
2000,
but
we
need
some
additional
dollars
to
really
compete
against
other
cities.
Recently,
when
the
NBA
all-star
game,
when
I
cancelled
their
all-star
game
in
Charlotte,
wanted
to
go
to
another
location,
they
wanted
to
come
to
Philadelphia,
but
we
just
didn't
have
the
resources
to
really
attract
them
to
the
city.

B
And
I
started
my
career,
the
small
business
lender
with
Meridian
Bank,
and
so
one
of
the
things
I
noticed
for
small
business
owners
is
how
did
it
get
access
to
capital
and
some
small
business
owners?
Don't
have
the
relationships
and
connections
to
get
loans,
and
so
by
starting
this
capital
consortium.
The
city
through
our
Commerce
Department,
is
working
with
Community
Development
financial
institutions,
small
business
lenders,
credit
unions
to
really
provide
resources
to
small
businesses,
all
around
the
city
of
Philadelphia,
to
help
them
get
loans
and
grow
their
businesses
and,
as.
A
B
A
lot
of
these
organizations
that
are
financial
institutions
do
a
lot
of
credit,
counseling
and
work
with
small
business
owners
to
get
their
credit
up
to
a
part
where
they
can
get
access
to
credit.
So
it's
not
just
applying
for
a
loan
and
not
getting
it.
You
have
an
opportunity
to
work
with
these
institutions
to
really
help.
You
improve
your
credit
profile
to
make
you
more
creditworthy
to
get
loans.

A
Northwest

my
name
is
Ken.
Weinstein
started
this
program
through
his
company
called
Philly
office
retail,
and
what
jumpstart
Germantown
does
it
provides
an
opportunity
for
anyone
that
say
as
a
barber
or
a
restaurant
owner,
someone
that
works
at
a
large
corporation
works
at
Comcast
and
they're
interested
in
you
know
getting
into
the
real
estate
industry,
but
really
don't
know
how
to
identify
property.
How
do
you
come
up
with
a
budget?
How
do
you
find
contractors
that
can
help
them
work
with
you
so
that
the
jump
start
initiative?
