hope
you
will
consider
becoming
a
census
champion
for
the
city
of
Philadelphia
every
ten
years.
The
United
States
Constitution
requires
a
count
or
census
of
all
the
country's
residents.
The
census
is
used
to
determine
representation
in
Congress
to
distribute
more
than
six
hundred
seventy
five
billion
in
federal
funding
to
states
and
cities
like
Philadelphia,
and
allocate
resources
for
job
creation,
housing,
education
infrastructure
and
many
more
vitally
important
initiatives
to
ensure
that
Philadelphia
received
the
resources
and
representation
it
deserves.
The
city
has
created,
philly
counts,
2020,
the
philly
counts.
A
2020
program
aims
to
increase
understanding
about
the
importance
of
a
census,
educate
the
public
on
how
to
participate
and
focus
outreach
on
historically
undercounted
communities
in
the
city.
This
is
a
historic
moment,
and
so
much
is
at
stake
for
our
city
in
his
upcoming
census.
