that
for
Windows,
so
think
about
you

you've
got
an
application
that
you
would
like
a
deploy
to
your
fleet

servers

all

your
desktop
computers,
or
just
a
mix
of
things
in
your
environment.

Chocolaty
provides
a
command-line
utility
that
makes
that
easy
to
do,
and
it
doesn't
have
to
be
just
software.
Yes,
we
are
a
package
manager
for
Windows,
but
under
the
hood,
it's
just
PowerShell.
So
knowing
that
it
can
be
a
package
of
anything
you
want,
it
can
be
a
script,
it
can
be.
Marvel
can
be
a
sip
file.

can
place
application,
desktop
shortcuts
on
desktops
or
root
files
around
or
map
network
drives
inside
of
a
package
or
whatever
you
can
do
with
PowerShell
can
be
wrapped
up
inside
of
a
chocolaty
package
and
deployed,
and
it
can
use
any
iteration
management
tool
as
well.
We're
supported
by

it's
really
powerful
in
its

you

want

within
this

the

get
done
building
your
package,
you
get
an
uptake
back
and
that's
what
you
deploy
out
and
install.

or
direct

software,
so
you
can
define
icons,
copyright
all
that
stuff.
If
you
want
to
the
only
stuff,
that's
not

buying
a
good
vintage.
So
we've
got
some
tags
that
you
can
tag
things
inside
of
your
packaging,
so
we'll
only
use
one
we'll

it

a
little
easier

packages

define
dependencies.
So
if
you've
got
an
application
that
requires
Java
or
you've

entire

it
will
install
that
first

satisfy
the
dependency
and
then
install
the
package
that
you're
trying
to
target.

little
bit

be

built-in
refresh
environment
commands
that
you
can
run
post,
choco,
install
that
looks
at
the
path
inside
of
the
registry
and
just
refreshes
it
in
your
current
session,
so
that
this
changes
get
picked
up

you
install
a
chocolaty
package
and
then
you
immediately
afterwards
without
refreshing,
your
environment
try
to
run
that
executable
from
your
path.
It's
going
to
say
thank
you're
talking

we
have
that
command
build,
ended

enables.

the

installed

whatever

pointing

great

a
security
standpoint

environment,

good
inventory

you've
got
several
thousand
machine
near
in
sleep,
that
can
be
a
really
daunting
task.
Well,
it
doesn't
have
to
be
it
can
be
through
tons
of
PowerShell
and
and
a
chef.

job
or
whatever
so
I've
talked
about
a
lot
of
features
of
chocolate.
Everything
I've
talked
about
so
far
has
been
stuck
that
outside
of
the
sync
feature,
everything
that
we've
done
so
far
has
been
available
to
everybody.
It's
in
the
open
source
edition
everybody
in
this
room
and
online
can
go
out
and
do
this
right
now.
The
next
thing
that
we're
going
to
do
and
we're
going
to
flip
over
to
this
to
the
server
to
do
to
do
this
actually
we'll
the
first
thing
we're
going
to
do
is
license
with
chocolaty
for
business.

is

a
pair
of
an
application.

it's

so
much.

just
pain

work

kind

slow
in

tell
a
client
to
do
something

on
the
client
waits
for
a
CCM
to
tell
it.
What
to
do

depending
on
your
size,
is
your
environment.
That
could
be
five
minutes
that

need
tomorrow,
so
with
chocolate
and
something
like
puppet
or
chef
or
whatever
that
happens
within.

you
target
in
SCCM
something
to
happen
right
now
from

other
side,
it
makes
it
a
little
bit
easier
in
that
it's
just
a
single
command
wrapped
up
inside
of
a
PowerShell
task.
I'm
not
really
super
well
versed
in
SCCM,
so
I,
don't
exactly
know
what
it
looks
like
off.
The
top
of
my
head
I'd
have
to
go
to
a
box.
If
I
can
refresh
my
memory
on
on
the
exact
step
to
do
it,
but
I
know
it's
a
PowerShell
like
a
PowerShell
script,
job
or
something
inside
of
SCCM.

So
because
chocolaty
already
has
this
massive
public
software
library
of
everything,
I,
probably
care
to
package
everything
instead
of
me,
taking
on
the
impetus
of
making
sure
these
packages
stay
up
to
date
and
can
get
deployed,
I
can
deploy
talk

install
as
my
package
as
my
install
line
for
that
SCCM
package
and
then
an
secm
say
it
successfully
installed
or
failed,
as
though
I
was
deploying
the
MSI
I
just
want
to
maintain
me
in
assigning
me
right.
So
so
you
can
still
use
this
with
aiccm
to
deploy
the
application.

is
the
desired
state
engine,
but
then
I
don't
have
to
deal
with
learning
how
to
package
something
I
use
somebody
else's
knowledge
to
deploy
that
application
through
SCCM,

I
need
some
chocolaty

distributed

can
bake

deploying

sync

we
check
and
see.
What's
there

what's
fallen
off
or
been
added,
so
a
corrective
action
can
be
taken.

off
of
that.
That
says:
hey

no

need

to
be

it

puppet.
It's
like
ensure
true
on
whatever
chocolaty
package.

you've
got
a
user
that,

you,
put
something
on
the
server
and
they
keep
uninstalling
it

can't,

whatever
reason,
take
away
their
admin
right,

do,

for
whatever

more
aggressive
with
that
to
where

corrective

seconds

it's
back
already

heck

puppet
you're
able
to

rectify

stuff.

provider,

Where
were
we
licensing?
So
it's
a
two-step
process.
The
first
thing
you
create
a
directory
in
the
chocolaty
install
of
install
path,
there's
an
environment
variable,
that's
one
of

things
that
chocolaty
does
winning
and
install
it
outside
of
portable,
creates
this
environment
variable
by
default.
It's
C
program,
data
chocolaty,
so
you
create
a
folder
called
license
in
that
location.

Lot
of
stuff
there's,
if
you
pay
for
chocolaty
or
your
life,
gets
a
heck
of
a
lot
easier
and
doing
a
lot
of
things.
So
now,
if
we
run
chaco
just
on
its
own
again,
we
should
get
an
error
that
says
it
can't
load
and
license
assembly,
but
that
now
you
can
see
that
we
have
the
Business
Edition
installed.
To
get
rid
of.
That
error
will
install
the
the
extra
stuff
that
comes
with
having
a
tough
day
license,
so
that
is
in
the
form
of
chocolatey
extension
and
I've
got
it
here
locally.

should
only
take
a
couple
of
seconds
to
be
licensed
per
machine
per
user
per
eyes,
its
per
node
wherever
that
gets
installed,
and
we're
really
easy
about
our
licensing.

don't
phone
home,
we

it's

honor

licenses,
four
minutes

ten
licenses,

whatever
put
it

pretty
good
uptime,

always

off
chance
that
something
is

to

wrong

community
repositories
offline,

you
need
it
to
be
online.

hosting
your
own
repository
internally.
Not
only
can
you
get
around
those
redistribution
rights
with
internalizing
those
packages
from
the
community
repository,
but
you
also
control
the
repository
itself
so
that
the
reliability
of
that
is
on
you.
So
if
you've
got
your
repository
hosted
in
like
an
H,
a
environment.
So
if
something
goes
wrong
on
a
host
stick
and
migrated
to
another
house
or
whatever
you
can
ensure
100%
reliability
of
your
repository
and
as
long
as
your
repository
server
supports
nougat
feeds
our
repository,
it
will
work
with
it.

product
chocolaty,
simple
server,
which
is
just
what
it
sounds
like
it's
a
simple
new
git
repository
server.
It
does
not
like
large
packages
like
over
500
megabytes
and
it
does
not
support
more
than
one
repository

doesn't
the
other
stuff.

out

It's
available
supports
multiple
different
types
of
repository
types
like
NPM,
docker
images,
whatever
there's
a
ton
of
them
the
day
support,
but
they
can
also
host
multiple
repositories

same
server
itself.
