Our speaker this month is Joel Sallow, who will be showcasing his PowerShell module called PSKoans. Joel is an active PowerShell community member answering questions and providing help to people in the PowerShell forums in Slack and Discord as well as one of the top people in Reddit PowerShell forum. If you asked a question on Reddit PowerShell, chances are Joel gave you the answer!
The goal of the PowerShell koans is to teach you PowerShell by presenting you with a set of questions. Each kōan (each question) is represented by a failing Pester test. Your goal is to make those tests pass by filling out the correct answer, or writing the correct code.
The koans start very simply to get you familiar with the basic concepts and progress towards more difficult. Teaching you multiple beginner, intermediate and advanced aspects of PowerShell in the process. If you are struggling to learn PowerShell concepts and syntax, then this is a must see event for you!

explains
what
the
modules
about
how
to
do
it.
It's
pretty
simple.
Most
of
it
is
fill
in
the
blanks.
There
are

couple
of
exercises
and
I'm
aiming

gives
you
a

to
hit,
and

use
the
verb
down
syntax
because
it
makes
your
code
more
consistent
and
easier
to
read
for
anyone
who's
used
to
PowerShell,
and
it
just
makes
it
work
better
because
you
end
up
writing
better
names
to
your
commands
that
permit
exists
just
basically,
because
if
you
have
a
verb
and
a
noun,
you
know
exactly
what
I
commend
does
as
long
as
you
stick
to
what
you're
naming
it.
Of
course
like.
If
you
write,
you
know,
get
user
and
you
end
up
like
deleting
a
user,
not
commandlets.
That's
obviously,
no
good!

But
beyond
that,
like
as
long
as
you're
doing
what
your
command
says,
you
oftentimes
don't
have
to
write
as
much
documentation
to
explain
it
because
you
can
be
like
okay,
it's
easy.
It's
pretty
basic
assume
that
a
function
called
get
user
is
going
to
get
you
a
user.
Maybe
the
documentation
could
tell
you
where,
where
it
looks,
if
you
can
filter
stuff
like
that
and
any
parameters
that
has
but
the
basics
of
the
function
come
in
the
name.
So
it's
really
handy
like
that,
and
then
this
one
just
basically
teaches
you
the
different
ways.
