Description
House Corrections Sub committee - February 22, 2022 - House Hearing Room 4
A
A
A
To
my
left
and
our
legal
counselors
josh
houston
to
my
right,
two
spaces
is
the
secretary
bridget
findler,
who
carries
a
big
load
down
here.
I
will
just
tell
you
way
over
to
my
left.
Is
our
clerk
shakspur
mcarver
to
my
right?
Is
our
research
analyst
nathan
witt
and
these
folks
do
all
the
heavy
polling
behind
the
scenes
that
nobody
ever
talks
about?
So
I'm
very
grateful
for
them?
A
All
right,
well
house
bill
number
one
which
is
1579
has
been
taken
off
notice
and
I
must
tell
you
this
is
the
third
time
that
house
bill.
1579
has
been
calendared
in
this
committee,
so
without
objection
the
bill
is
sent
to
the
special
calendar
be
heard
following
the
final
calendar.
Whatever
that
means,
oh,
we
have
to
take
the
roll.
Yes,
I
guess
that's
a
good
idea.
A
A
C
What
this
bill
simply
does
to
address
is
when
our
local
county
jails
are
housing,
state
parolee
inmates
that
are
waiting
for
their
the
ultimate
decision
on
whether
or
not
they're
going
to
be
sent
back
to
prison
or
released
the
counties
incur
a
cost.
For
that,
and
at
the
moment
the
department
of
corrections
is
not
reimbursing
the
counties.
Now
we
have
a
fiscal
note.
That's
here
that
we
have
discovered
that
has
some
inaccuracies
to
that
and
we
want
to
be
able
to
project
a
more
clear
picture
of
what
cost
that
we're
looking
at
going
forward.
C
So
if
it
would
please
the
committee
I'm
going
to
humbly
ask
that
we
roll
this
bill
for
two
weeks
so
that
we
can
get
those
numbers
correct
before
I
come
back
and
present
to
you.
