awareness-

I
will
read
this
proclamation
whereas
september
2022
is
national,
prostate
cancer
awareness
month
and
whereas
prostate
cancer
is
the
most
frequently
diagnosed
cancer
in
men,
aside
from
skin
cancer
and
about
one
in
eight
men
will
be
diagnosed
with
prostate
cancer
during
their
lifetime.

the
gift

life
prostate
cancer
awareness
day
in
beaumont,
and
urge
all
men
in
our
community
to
pursue
preventive
health
practices
and
early
detection
efforts
accordingly,
I
mayor

hearing

cause

of
the
city
of
beaumont
to
be
affixed
on

really

services
so
that
we
can
ensure
looking
at
coved
and
all

the
cdc
recommendations.

year
we're
scheduling
a
jefferson
county
screening
site
at

istc
off

conference
center,

you
mentioned
mayor
and
that's
to
provide
men
throughout
jefferson
county
to
come.
Take
advantage
of
the
services
have
a
really
large
wonderful
facility
where
we
can
have
social,
distancing
and
also
what's
been
important.

the
mayor

proclamation

but
I
want
to
caution
especially
afro-american
men's,
which
prostate
cancer
affects
basically
afro-americans
hispanics
and
then
concation,
but
I
encourage
you
to
get
checked
with
your
psa
and
the
digital
both.
But
let
me
tell
you
a
story.

all

much
and
I'm
not
going
to
say
a
word
except
thanks
and
to
say
the
reason
we
started.
This
is
because
my
uncle
had
passed
away
from
prostate
cancer
20
years
ago
and
he
had
not
been
told
that
he
needed
annual
checkups
and
when
we
did
this
prostate
cancer
was
sort
of
in
the
closet.
You
didn't
talk
about
it.
It
was
hidden
away.
People
didn't
talk
about
this
disease,
nor
breast
cancer,
but
breast
cancer
become
more
acceptable.

Prostate
cancer
was
not
so
we
raised
the
awareness
level
initially
and
then
really
concentrated
on
the
underserved.
I
don't
have
to
tell
you
all
how
many
uninsured
there
are
in
southeast
texas
and
by
the
way
I
do
not
like
it.
When
I
hear
it
said,
oh
well,
you
know
they're
just
getting
a
handout.
That
is
not
true.
Many
of
these
people
have
good
jobs,
they
work
30
hours
or
less,
and
they
don't
have
benefits.
Others
have
lost
their
jobs
due
to
covet
and
other
unusual
circumstances.
So
we
are
here
with
compassion,
understanding
and
love.

out

houston

lot

they're
great

work
with
and
as
far
as
the
way

program

know
you

there's
something

we

clarification

they
make
sure
that
we
receive
everything
that
we
need
each

adjustments

adjustments

the

may

the
court's
decision

have
collected

accounts
in
the
amount
of
1.4
million
dollars
for
the
city
citations
cancelled,
there
have
been
3628
in
the
amount
of
1.3
million
dollars
now.
So
you
understand,
citations.
Canceled
are
any
cases
that
are
cancelled
by
the
court,
and
that
means
simply
if
the
whatever
decision
is
made
by
the
court,
if
the
judge
decides
that
an
individual
will
do
community
service
or
if
cases
are
dismissed
or
if
there's
other
some
other
method
in
which
that
case
is
handled,
the
court
will
pull
that
back.

Someone
is
just
disputing
it,
so,
as
you
can
see
the
breakdown
moving
down,
the
good
thing
is,
if
you
look
at
the
bottom,
there's
a
total
of

collected

start

there
was

request

increase

property
tax
rate
to

of
the
proposed

increased
tax
rate
has
resulted

water
account

building
flood
improvements
at

pine
street

electrical
building

harvey
and

sandbagged
it.

this
project
puts
a
wall
around
that
building
and
flood
proofs

It
says
here
that
we're
raising
a
generator,
but
that's
not
that's
a
misprint
there.

it
was
meant
to
be
in
a
different
different
spot,

we're
just
flood
proofing
that
electrical
building
itself,
the
two
main
generators
are
already
raised.

is
one
older
generator
at
a
lower
level
that,

a
future
fiscal

trying
to
look
to
replace
and
renew
that.
So
we've
done
everything
on
this
project,
except
for
the
gate
which
we're
just
waiting

on
what
we
find,

potentially
need

the

to

parks,

in

effort
to

with

lot

needs

city's
parks

recreation
