A
Hello
and
thank
you
for
tuning
in
to
this
episode
today
of
animals
and
aims.
My
name
is
Ron
Edwards
I'm,
the
animal
control
supervisor
here
for
the
Ames
animal
shelter
and
animal
control
program.
Today's
gonna
be
a
special
show.
We're
gonna
highlight
six
cats
that
were
just
transferred
to
us
from
the
Animal
Rescue
League
of
Iowa,
our
vet
tech
Alex
went
down
to
pick
up
some
kitties
from
them.
They
have
just
had
one
case
after
another
of
hoarding
situations
and
just
an
incredible
amount
of
animals
coming
into
the
facility.
A
So
we
try
to
help
them
out
anytime
that
we
can.
They
actually
have
over
a
thousand
cats
in
their
facility
right
now,
so
anytime,
we
can
help
them
out
when
we've
had
a
lot
of
adoptions
which
again,
thanks
to
our
adopters
we've
had
a
lot
of
adoptions,
coming
in
so
being
able
to
open
our
facility
to
these
shelters
that
are
in
dire
need
because
they
have
cats
everywhere
in
hallways
and
in
cages,
and
it's
really
important
to
us
and
really
important
to
the
donors
who
help
us
out.
A
It
is
a
donation
funded
program,
so
we're
able
to
save
these
guys
today,
thanks
to
all
of
the
donations
that
we
receive
here
at
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter.
So
not
only
we're
donations
help
the
animals
here
in
our
community,
but
we're
able
to
save
lives
from
other
agencies
where
the
resources
are
limited.
There's
so
many
animals
coming
in
and
they
just
don't
have
as
many
adopters
coming
in
for
the
number
of
animals
coming
in.
A
So
let's
take
a
look
at
all
the
cats
that
just
arrived
today
from
the
Iowa
animal
rest,
the
Animal
Rescue
League
of
Iowa
and
our
first
cat
today
is
Bishop.
Bishop
is
two
and
a
half
years
old.
He
is
a
male
neutered,
he's
solid
black
so
that
beautiful
black
coat
new
kitty
here
to
us.
So
we
don't
know
a
lot
about
his
personality,
but
it
seems
to
be
a
friendly
kitty.
He
was
really
loving
his
scratchers,
so
he
does
have
all
of
his
claws.
A
Emily
is
our
animal
care
technician
and
the
one
who
gives
these
guys
their
daily
care
and
make
sure
that
they're,
fed
and
given
fresh
water
and
their
litter
box
is
clean,
gives
them
all
the
toys
and
lots
of
love
in
every
single
day.
She's
joined
today,
so
we're
very
happy
that
Emily
is
part
of
our
team
she's,
our
longest
member
of
our
staff,
so
she's
been
here
longer
than
any
of
the
employees
here
and
we're
so
proud
that
she's
here
with
us
and
part
of
our
team.
A
And
our
next
two
guests
today
are
brothers.
They
are
five
months
old
fluff
is
the
orange
tabby
and
white
one.
That's
closest
there
that
Emily's
trying
to
round
up
and
stripes
is
the
one
that
is
in
the
back
they're
just
kind
of
hanging
out
and
getting
used
to
the
new
environment.
Again.
These
are
just
two
of
the
six
cats
that
were
transferred
here
from
the
Animal
Rescue
League.
A
Today,
they've
only
been
here
about
25
minutes,
so
they're
adjusting
to
all
the
new
smells
and
sights
and
sounds
and,
as
I
said
before,
Emily's
got
their
kennel
all
set
up
and
she's
got
some
nice
warm
fuzzy,
blankets
in
there
for
them
to
stay
warm
with,
and
some
toys
and
there
to
help
them
make
sure
that
they
they
keep
their
mind
going
while
they're
here
waiting
for
that
forever
home.
So
we
will
be
looking
to
try
and
adopt
these
guys
together.
So,
if
you're
looking
for
a
bonded
pair,
consider
these
two,
they
are
beautiful.
A
Cats
be
nice
to
see
them
grow
up
together,
they've
been
together
all
their
lives.
So,
even
though
that
is
just
five
months
but
we'd
love
to
keep
them
together,
if
possible,
it's
always
nice
to
have
feline
friends
at
home.
So
we
try
to
do
bonded
pairs
anytime.
We
can,
and
even
if
it's
cats
that
are
not
necessarily
bonded
here
at
the
shelter,
we
always
try
to
convince
people
if
they
have
the
means
to
be
able
to
care
for
two
cats,
or
maybe
they
have
another
cat
at
home-
that
they
consider
adopting
a
second.
A
And
our
next
guest
today
is
Squidward,
so
this
is
just
a
large
version
of
some
of
the
kittens
you
just
saw
her.
The
younger
ones
you
two
saw
so
Squidward
is
about
two
years
old.
He
is
a
male
just
neutered
and
kind
of
orange
tabby
and
white
kind
of
that
buff
coloring
in
there
one
thing
that's
very
unique
about
Squidward.
Besides,
that
name
is
he's
polydactyl.
So
if
you
can
see
his
toes
there,
he
has
got
and
we
have
not
even
counted
them
yet,
but
there
are
probably
a
whole
lots
of
toenails
on
there.
A
So
he's
really
going
to
take
advantage
of
our
free
nail
trims
for
life.
Any
adopter
that
adopts
here
from
us
at
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter
can
bring
them
in
at
any
time
that
they
want
during
our
normal
business
hours,
and
we
will
do
those
free
nail
trims
for
life,
so
he
is
polydactyl
and
which
means
he
has
extra
toes
and
he
has
them
on
the
front
and
the
back.
A
So
that's
kind
of
unique,
sometimes
you'll,
see
polydactyl
cats
that
have
extra
toes
just
on
the
front,
but
he
has
them
on
the
front
and
back
seems
to
be
a
very
outgoing
kitty,
just
loving
that
attention
from
Emily
and
just
rubbing
his
head
up
there
and
just
a
beautiful
cat.
You
can
really
see
those
stripes
and
his
fur
kind
of
when
he's
going
to
the
side
and
even
on
that
tail
there.
A
So
just
a
beautiful
kitty,
very
unique,
Kitty
and
again
one
that
we
will
provide
those
free
nail
trims
for
life,
no
matter
how
many
nails
we
end
up
finding
there
on
that
beautiful
kitty.
So
if
you're
interested
here
in
in
Squidward
and
can
provide
him
with
that,
of
course,
indoor
only
home
and
absolutely
no
declawing,
we
will
be
happy
to
introduce
you
to
him
and
see
how
he
might
fit
into
your
family.
A
A
A
Again.
He
has
all
of
his
claws,
like
all
the
cats
that
you're
gonna
see
today,
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
they
keep
those
claws.
They
came
that
way.
We
want
to
make
sure
they
stay
that
way.
So
you
see
he's
just
a
little
shy,
but
he's
just
loving
that
attention
from
Emily
and
and
the
petting
and,
of
course,
kitties
love
being
pet
around
there,
their
chin
and
and
their
ears,
and
it's
just
really
nice
there
and
you
can
see
that
he's
just
really
enjoying
that
he's.
A
Gonna
fall
asleep
on
us
here,
but
just
a
good
sized
kitty
there,
again
male
neutered,
approximately
5
years
old,
his
name
is
Oscar
and
he
is
another
one
of
the
transfers
today.
Just
came
in
from
the
Animal
Rescue
League
of
Iowa
I'm,
very
proud
to
partner
with
them
and
help
save
animals
lives.
So
it's
a
very
important
transfer
program
that
we
have
working
with
them
to
help
save
animals
here
and
in
the
community.
And
here
in
the
state.
A
And
our
next
Kitty
here,
the
final
Kitty
from
the
Animal
Rescue
League,
he's
a
little
camera
shy.
You
can
kind
of
see
he's
not
really
sure
how
to
handle
this
camera.
Looking
at
him
and
us
opening
the
kennel
there.
His
name
is
James
he's
just
about
four
months
old,
so
everything
is
new
to
him
because
he's
just
a
new
kitten
welcome
to
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter
here,
but
he's
getting
used
to
the
new
smell,
and
we
see
these
got
his
kitten
food
there
and
he's
just
not
sure.
A
What's
going
on
in
this
environment,
but
I'm
sure
he's
going
to
adjust
really
well.
If
someone
has
some
cat
experience
and
willing
to
work
with
him
and
help
socialize
him,
but
again
it
might
just
be
that
he's
scared.
The
you
know
a
bit
of
a
ride
over
here
and
I
in
a
carrier
he's
given
some
nice
soft
blinks
there
so
he's
showing
us
that
he's
trusting
music.
Of
course,
gonna
look
for
a
way
to
escape
and
his
kennel
and
it's
not
gonna
happen,
but
just
a
pretty
kitty.
A
We
don't
want
to
continue
to
scare
him
much
so
again.
This
is
James.
He's
a
four
month
old
male
orange
tabby.
He
of
course
has
also
been
neutered,
so
he
is
available
for
adoption
again
we'll
be
accepting
applications
on
all
of
these
guys.
So
if
you're
interested
in
adopting
a
kitty
from
us
come
on
down
to
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter.
A
Well,
that's
our
show
for
today
want
to
thank
everybody
for
watching
those
were
some
beautiful
kitties
that
we
just
met
from
the
Animal
Rescue
League
of
Iowa
and
again
it's
a
very
special
program
to
us
we're
able
to
take
in
dogs
when
we
also
have
a
lot
of
dog
adoptions.
We
work
with
the
Joplin,
Humane,
Society
and
other
partner
shelters
to
help
animals
that
are
in
need
so
very
proud
of
that
program.
It's
something
that's
very
important
to
all
the
staff
members
here.
A
Our
volunteers
really
enjoy
the
program
and,
most
importantly,
it's
a
life-saving
program
and
that's
what
we're
all
about
here
at
the
Ames
Animal
Shelter.
So
thank
you
for
watching.
Thank
you
for
your
support
and,
of
course,
come
down
and
meet
some
of
these
new
kitties,
and
maybe
we
have
one
for
your
home.
