mentioned

mr.
parson
also
received
Inglewood
city
parkland
in
that
deal.
At
the
time
when
the
eh
PS
was
interested.
A
former
councilman
snapped
his
fingers
right
at
my
face
and
said
just
show
me:
the
money
Atlanta's
worth
$300,000,
but
he
and
other
council
members,
with
the
exception
of
mr.
Jilla
and
mr.
Jefferson,
were
all
willing
to
sell
it
for
thirty
thousand
dollars.
The
building
and
the
land
who.

Looking
out
for
the
citizens
in
that
deal,
our
citizens
are
beginning
to
complain
about
the
train
depot
and
the
restoration
that
was
promised.
It
will
be
four
years
that
mr.
parson
said
he
could
restore
it
immediately,
and
he
now
denies
that
mr.
parson
was
at
the
may,
15th
council
meeting,
trying
to
explain
cap
to
council
all
the
many
reasons
he
has
not
been
able
to
do
to
the
restoration
of
the
Depot,
Gotham
and
Jill
had
said
I
recall
you
telling
us,
you
and
your
wife
had
three
hundred
thousand
to
restore
the
depot
immediately.
Then
mr.

parson
denied
again
that
he
never
made
that
statement
and
said
people
are
saying
that,
and
it
isn't
true.
The
contract
I
signed
with
the
city
said:
I
only
had
to
have
a
hundred
thousand
to
start
the
restoration
that
makes
it
even
worse.
The
city
didn't
even
hold
Parsons
feet
to
the
fire
at
one
hundred
thousand
that
he
didn't
have
let
alone
three
hundred
thousand,
where
in
the
world
were
our
former
city
leaders
and
staff.
Who
allowed
this
to
happen
to
one
of
our
few
most
historic
buildings
left
in
our
city
and
did
not
protect
it?

is
their
duty,
but
they
gave
it
away,
and
now
we
are
in
a
pickle.
I
was
surprised
when
Linda
Olson
spoke
up
three
different
times
during
the
council
meeting
assuring
parson
the
city
needed
to
help
him.
Yet
again,
this
is
a
quote
on
May
25th
2:17
from
the
Inglewood
Herald
Council
Melinda
Olsen
said
the
situation
is
what
it
is,
and
the
city
should
take
steps
to
help
parson,
complete
repair
and
restoration
of
the
Depot
in
June
2013,
when
his
council
was
deciding
who
would
get
the
depo.
Mr.

Chills
went
through
me
for
generations.
Our
citizens
thought
the
city
was
going
to
restore
the
depot
into
an
Englewood
History
Museum
for
saving
our
Englewood
legacy.
Not
the
legacy
of
Parsons
children.
Let
me
remind
you,
the
parson
is
not
an
English
citizen,
but
a
resident
of
Denver
after
our
city
restores
the
depot
as
Olson
has
suggested
and
helps
parson
again.
He
can
still
sell
the
depot
and
leave
that
hugely
legacy
to
his
children
as
I
walk
back
to
my
seat.
Mr.
parson
turned
his
head
with
an
angry
look
in
his
face
and
mouthed
to
me.

were
not
telling
the
truth.
Olson
asked.
Isn't
there
a
way
we
can?
We
can
tell
who
really
is
telling
the
truth?
Councilman
Gela
looked
up
the
council
meeting
and
said:
I
will
read
to
you
mr.
Parsons
said
in
his
own
words,
and
he
did
that
and
then
he
said
she
is
telling
the
truth.
Meaning
me,
since
August
2013
folks
have
been
asking
about
the
depot.
Mr.
parson
received
the
historic
Depot
by
untruths
and
by
deceitful
deceitfulness.
That
has
hurt
our
city
rewarding
mr.
parson,
for
his
dishonesty
is
not
showing
the
leadership
our
citizens.

Respect

leaders.
Just
remember
two
wrongs
do
not
make
a
right.
You
lie
to
get
something
from

council
you
want,
and
then
you
get
bailed
out
by
the
council
for
lying
and
our
citizens
and
our
city
losses.

members
honor
our
English
citizens
and
our
children's
legacy,

than
mr.
Parsons
and
his
children,

no
ties
for
saving
our
rich
City
history.

When
are
you
going
to
clean
up
the
Charter
and
the
muni
code?
There
are
many
egregiously
unconstitutional
ordinances
and
miss
applied
in
selectively
enforced
ones.
One
of
them
is
the
way
you
tax
or
don't,
while
the
Charter
exempts
government
government
entities,
churches
and
schools
from
taxation,
especially
use
tax.
It
also
allows
you
to
tax
the
construction
material,
be
a
use
tax.

However,
you
have
exempted
many
businesses
and
developers
while
charging
Littleton
the
city
of
Littleton
in
Englewood
schools
use
tax,
notably
you
exempted
the
apartment
complex,
built,
close
to
Broadway
to
the
tune
of
over
a
quarter
of
a
million
dollars.
Besides
the
fact,
it
is
ugly
and
within
feet
of
Broadway
it
recently
sold
for
78
million
dollars
at
great
profit
to
the
developers
who
got
excused
from
significant
taxation
when
it
would
have
been
built
anyway.
Also
many
businesses
like
Rite
Aid,
got
sales
tax
and
use
tax
credit
why
they
would
have
located
here
anyway.

The
decision
to
exempt
Broadway
Acoma
loss
from
use
tax
is
specious
when
you
are
charging
the
school
district
use
tax
estate
law
allowing
affordable
housing
to
be
exempt.
In
partnering,
with
Housing
Authority
does
not
apply
to
Home
Rule
cities
under
the
plenary
power
of
Taxation
per
the
Legislative
Council
on
this
matter.
Besides,
the
Inglewood
Housing
Authority
has
never
received
use.
Tax
exemption
so
cannot
pass
it
on,
even
though
they
have
this
special
partnership
agreement,
which
provides
for
paying
the
tax.

When
are
you
going
to
stop
forwarding
the
will
of
the
people
and
put
T
d2d
into
the
Muni
code
and
repeal
15

one
and
two
that
was
put
into
the
code,
despite
public
outcry
and
which
resulted
in
2d
getting
passed
by

citizens
with
a
supermajority?
The
citizens
spoke
loudly,
and
you
need
to
realize
and
remember
that
we,
the
citizens,
are
your
bosses,
not
your
subjects.
Just
because
you
disagree
with
2d
does
not
give
you
the
right
to
claim
it
needs
clarification.

been
on

ballot,
if
not
for
the
necessary
approval
of
brats,

and

you

now
saying
that
they
were,

are,
incompetent

they
were

approving
body

measure

they
oversaw,

most

you

people

measures

never
be

honestly,
mr.
parson
has
no
clue
what
he's
doing

Preservation
Society
looked

depot
we
brought
in

structural
engineer

it

weight
is
now
that
Depot
will
not
be
standing
within
the
next
five
years.

a
lot

problems
with
that
number
one.
It
was
built
on
an
artificial
hill.
There
are,
it
needs
a
retaining
wall,
probably
with
rebar
all
the
way
around
it
to
keep
the
hill
from
slide.
I
And
if
you
go
there
after
rain,
you'll
find
anywhere
from
a
half
inch
to
probably
an
inch
of
soil
on
the
sidewalk
and
the
gutter.
It's
sliding
it's
slowly
sliding
number
two
that
Depot
needs
a
new
drainage
system
that
would
probably
run
underneath
that
hill
and
go
through
the
retaining
wall
to
to
take
the
water
from
there
and
put
it
out
onto
the
street.
So
that
doesn't
slide
that
whole
program
that
the
previous
administration
did
was
really
really
something
we
were
lied
to.

Englewood,
Historic
Preservation
Society
was
lied
to
the
people
were
lied
to
and
mr.
Parsons
as
item
a
pointed
out,
lied
and
the
way
we
were
lied
is
I
had
a
meeting
with
Mike
Flaherty
before
this
happened
and
I
asked
him
why
there
were
the
problems
that
he
had
with
eh
PS,
and
he
told
me
he
said
it
was
goes-
went
back
to
the
old
language,
Historical,
Society
and
money
he
had
put
into
the
society,
and
then
they
split
and
he
lost
not
only
his
money.

were
told
that
four
people,
five
people
that
were
selected
to
judge
the
merits
of
each
one
of
our
groups,

told
specifically
that
nobody
in
the
city
administration
really
knew
these
people
and
after
about
a
month
after
this
thing
happened,

daniels,
who
was
the
president

and
linda
said
no.

known
like
thirty
for
twelve
years,
so
again,
not
necessarily
a
lie,
but
maybe
a
big
fib.

what

going

do
as

talked
to
Lou
and
I
know
how

signatures

need.

know
what
period
of
time
I
have
and
true
it's
gonna
cost
the
city,
thirty
thousand
dollars
to

figure
Lou
gave
me
to
put
this
on

not

City

the
lead
on
this

for

getting
money
and
a
second
of

the
Community
Development
grants
that

to
people
our
organization,
the
Rocky
Mountain
Railroad,
Heritage
Society.
We
have
people
that
go
in
and
dig
out
grants.
We've
got
buildings
that
we're
trying
to
save
all
over
Colorado
and
Wyoming
and
I'm
telling
you
that
building
is
gonna
have
problems.
If
you
don't,
if
the
city
doesn't
do
it,
it's
just
the
way
I
look
at
it.

see
that
building
saved,

don't
want
to
see
it
destroyed.

election

we

own

depot

bought
it

$25

city

town

made

buy

Depot
was

soon

we
got
it
restored.

the

Alzheimer's
awareness
good
evening,
mrs.
grill.

I
wanted
to
provide
you
a
brief
overview
of
Alzheimer's
disease
and
the
challenges
that
it
creates
for
69,000
families
in
Colorado,
including
many
here
in
Englewood.
My
name,
as
you
said,
is
Teresa
grill
and
I'm.
The
professional
education
coordinator
for
the
Colorado
chapter
of
the
Alzheimer's
Association
since
June
is
Alzheimer's
and
brain
Awareness
Month.
It
is
our
goal
as
an
organization
to
increase
our
efforts
to
raise
awareness
of
the
disease,
to
raise
awareness
of
how
it
impacts,
families
and
what
the
future
looks
like
in
our
state.

It
is
important
to
note
or
to
let
you
know
that
Alzheimer's
disease
is
the
sixth
leading
cause
of
death
both
nationally
and
in
the
state
of
Colorado.
It
is
the
only
disease
in
the
top
ten
causes
of
death
without
definitive
prevention,
treatment
or
cure.
So
today
and
I
say
today
because
I
believe
in
a
tomorrow,
but
today,
Alzheimer's
disease
is
a
fatal
disease.
The
number
of
Coloradans
with
this
disease
is
expected
to
increase
by
33
percent
over
the
next
decade
to
92
thousand
people
that
is
more
people
than
can
fit
in
the
Broncos
stadium.

Predominantly
women
are
affected
by
this
disease.
Age
is
the
primary
risk
factor.
African-Americans
have
twice
the
risk.
Latinos
have
one
and
a
half
times
the
risk
caregivers
in
Colorado
number
close
to
two
hundred
and
forty
four
thousand
people
making
significant
personal
sacrifices,
including
those
in
the
areas
of
direct
financial
support,
time
away
from
work
and
neglecting
their
own
health
care
needs,
and
then
finally,
I
just
want
to
talk
to
you
about
the
cost
of
the
disease.
Nearly
one
out
of
every
five
Medicare
dollars
is
spent
for
people
with
Alzheimer's
or
another
progressive
dementia
by
2050.

That's
projected
to
be
one
out
of
every
three
Medicare
dollars.
Colorado's
Medicaid
program
spends
to
five
hundred
and
twenty
six
million
caring
for
people
every
year
and
that
number
as
well
as
growing.
So
what
you
can
do
to
join
us
is
in
raising
awareness
is
learn.
The
ten
signs
I
will
leave
a
pile
of
brochures,
I'm
also
going
to
leave
some
helpline
cards.

when
you
encounter
an
individual
or
a
family
struggling
with
the
diagnosis,
please
send
them
to
us.
We
have

24-hour
helpline.
We
provide
free
education
for
families
and
professionals.
We
provide
programs
for
people
in
the
early
stages

disease.

support
groups
and
care.
Consultation
is
available
free
of
charge.

eight
of
all
eight
of
our
regional
offices,
we
do
have
a
lending
library,
all
of
our
programs
for
families
and
patients
are
free
of
charge,
and

months

very
proud
of
council
member

gelatin
councilmember
Olson

bringing
up
the
issue
of
the
depot.
They
are
the
ones
who
brought
up
the
issue
of
the
depot
and
the
concern
of
the
state
that
it
was
in
and
what
was
going
on
with
that
and
that
this
study
that
we
need
to
do
something
about
that.

is
an
issue
that's
near
and
dear
to
my
heart,
I
was
very
instrumental
in
the
savior
Depot
parks.
The
Inglewood
parks
petition
drive,
the
citizenry
spoke
very
loud
and
clear.
It
was
unfortunate
that
the
council
sold
that
property
prior
to
that
vote
going
and
that
would
have
stopped
that
but
I'm
very
proud
of
those
two
council
members,
regardless
of
how
they
voted
at
the
time,
brought
that
issue
up
so
that
it's
even
being
discussed.
But
they
are
the
reason
it
is
being
discussed,
and
so
I
am
proud
of
them
for
doing
that.

filling

continuing
to
be
bring
that

our
attention.

that

citizens
petition
overwhelmingly
voted

clarification

attorney

ordinances

we
have
and
in

fairness
to
our
new
city
attorney.

support

building

million
dollars

take

look

how
we're
applying
optional
use
tax
exemptions

make

people

legitimate

hex
exemptions

sanctioned

the
taxpayers

honored
in
the
city.

need

by

council

authority
to
not
charge
somebody

didn't
charge

apartments
we
gave
it

that
ordinance
says.
We
have
the
authority
to
vote
not
to
charge
somebody's
use
tax
and
in
the
past
we
have
voted.

thank
everybody

great
state

it

night

community
building

post
reception
with
the
Museum

outdoor
arts
and
wanted
to
thank
them
for
their
participation.

we
had
good
attendance
of
great
local
businesses

local
residents,

well
as
elected
officials
from
all
over
the
region.

particularly
for
their
hard
efforts

my

are
on

and

ultimate
sacrifice
for
all
of
us.

presentation

family

realize
how
closely
I
was
connected
with
the
latter
Whigs,
who
have
lived
here
for
a
very
long
time,
actually
went
to
high
school
with
the
grandson
there
and
we're
hoping
to
be
able
to
help
bring
some
more
honor
to
this
family.

I
wanted

congratulate
Tom
once
again
on
40
years
of
service
to
the
community
city
managers,
choice.

the

the

as
former
councilmember
and
mayor
Eugene,
Otis
and

Anyone

was

celebration

coming
Saturday

10th

June

p.m.
at
spirit
of
Hope,
United,
Methodist
Church,
and
we
will
be
sending
flowers
on
behalf

City
Council
to
that
particular
service

observation

done

this
in
the

information
about
items
at

good

sensed

lot
of
anger
tonight
from
counsel
towards
staff
on
this
use,
tax
issue
and
I
think
that,
frankly,
it's
unfair,
because
I'm
trying
to
do

follow
the
law
and
I
think
you
was
council,
people
and
specifically
I,
know:
council
Barrentine.

That
was
her
main
goal
coming
on,
is
for
us
to
follow
a
law
and
follow
process.
That's
what
I've
been
trying
to
do
and
in
the
absence
of
an
alternative,
I
can't
I
can't
sway
from
that
and
so
I'm,
just
letting

know.
This
is
an
example
again
when
there's
ambiguity
or
non
consensus
for
the
council
to
give
clear
direction
as
to
which
direction
to
go.
That
creates
problems
that
creates
dissonance
and
that's
dissonance
in
which
it
makes
it
difficult
for
us
to
do
our
jobs.

point
that

appreciate
what
you're
trying
to
do.

think
that
the
policy
discussion
is
perfect.
That's
exactly
the
level
on
which
this
council
should
be
flying
policy
level,

but
we
just
need
clarity
