Highlights of the Jan 2020 Strategic Marketing Group Conversation Update
A
Hi
I'm
Colin,
Fletcher
manager
of
market
research,
customer
insights
at
gate
lab-
and
this
is
the
quick
take
for
the
upcoming
strategic
marketing
group
conversation
scheduled
for
January
22nd
2020.
This
is
just
a
quick
video
to
touch
on
the
highlights
of
the
presentation.
You'll
have
a
link
to
that's
chock-full,
more
information
and
links
that
you
can
peruse
it
to
your
heart's
content
and
we
hope
in
preparation
of
joining
us,
live
tomorrow,
where
we
hope
you
bring
your
questions.
Your
energy
in
your
your
input,
we'd
appreciate
it
but
feel
free
to
produce
that
at
any
time.
A
A
Around
customer
use
cases
then
we'll
spend
a
little
time
talking
about
what's
new
what
we've
delivered
since
last
time
we
talked
and
what's
upcoming,
so
we
want
to
welcome
Parker
Ennis,
who
joined
us
as
a
product,
marketing
manager
in
the
prime
marketing
team
and
Sarah
Davila,
who
joined
our
partner
marketing
team
as
a
partnering
partner
and
marketing
manager.
Welcome
you
all
and
couldn't
be
happier
have
you
join.
A
Congratulations,
William,
Chia,
one
of
our
own
being
recognized
as
one
of
the
top
50
product
marketing
influencers
by
the
product.
Marketing
alliance.
Congratulations!
William!
That's!
That's
super
cool
speaking
of
awards,
just
recently,
gitlab
was
named
best
DevOps
solution
provider
and
the
DevOps
dozen
put
on
by
hoax
at
DevOps
comm
and
an
annual
awards
program,
and
just
as
importantly,
if
not
more
so
it's
the
recognition
of
one
of
our
our
customers,
Jasmine
James
at
Delta
Airlines,
which
we
couldn't
be
happier
about
and
who
is
recently
spoken
on
our
behalf
and
a
couple
of
months,
etc.
A
But
congratulations
Jasmine,
we're
just
happy
to
be
part
of
your
success
journey.
We
also
recently
invested
a
lot
of
time
and
energy
in
the
very
successful
San
Francisco
commit
event.
We
helped
out
with
content.
We
helped
out
attract
leadership.
We
helped
out
by
getting
partners
and
sponsors
in
the
door
for
what
was
a
really
valuable
event
for
all
involved.
A
A
Deliver
repackage
package
in
order
to
support
that
execution
along
those
those
use
cases
it's
a
lot
of
stuff,
as
you
can
imagine
in
fact,
it's
over
30
that
we
identified
for
each
one,
but
we
decided
to
go
ahead
and
codify
that
call
it
a
pillow
material.
So
we
can
track
our
progress
in
being
able
to
support
the
execution
of
a
gun
market
around
a
given
use
case.
A
Now,
while
we
accomplish
great
things,
we're
also
not
necessarily
always
miracle
workers,
so
we
know
we
only
have
so
much
time
so
many
resources.
So
what
we
does?
We
have
prioritized
these
use
cases
based
on
input
from
the
field
based
on
input
from
our
customers,
based
on
input
from
all
sorts
of
folks
to
cut
stage
it
out
on
a
quarterly
basis,
and
what
you
can
see
here
is
the
first
set
of
these
cases
we'll
be
focusing
on
in
q1
and
then
throughout
the
year
of
course,
subject
to
change
depend
on
how
that
goes.
A
Let's
touch
on
really
quick.
What's
new
on
the
technical
marketing
side,
we
supported
the
AWS
reinvent
event.
We
were
also
helping
out
with
commit
San
Francisco,
and
we
worked
with
top
analyst
industry
analysts
to
increase
awareness
of
our
secure
offerings.
The
partner
channel
marketing
team
sponsored
the
AWS
sales
kick
off
recently
and
kicked
off
an
integrated
partner
campaign
as
well.
The
competitive
intelligence
folks
updated
the
ROI
template,
tested
it
out
with
a
new
prospect
and
delivered
some
Microsoft
competitive
sales
training.
A
Recently,
the
market
research
customer
insights
team-
we
we
notably
were
recognized
as
fire
starters
by
four
or
five
one
research
gitlab
was
recognized
by
four
five
one,
and
that
was
a
fantastic
award,
an
industry
analyst
firm.
We
also
did
a
first
roll
out
of
a
new
customer
reference
management
tool,
which
is
pretty
great.
The
product
marketing
team
was
heavily
involved
in
supporting
the
commit
event
in
San
Francisco.
A
They
delivered
a
new
customer
deck
built
around
our
new
messaging
framework
and
they've
done
a
lot
of
the
work
around
building
out
that
go
to
market
approach
around
use
cases,
which
is
awesome
so,
as
I
mentioned,
there's
a
lot
a
lot
more
that
you
can
dive
into
at
any
time.
I,
just
thought:
I'd
touch
on
a
few
things
that
are
coming
up
right
over
the
next
over
in
the
future,
our
top
three
priorities.
So
there's
two
things
here
across
all
of
the
teams.
A
We
are
all
in
on
supporting
the
upcoming
sales
kickoff
event
and
we
are
all
in
on
building
out
and
supporting
the
activation
of
these
customer
base.
Use
cases.
In
addition
to
that,
we've
got
the
tech
marketing
team
delivering
some
additional
competitive
training
at
the
upcoming
sales
kickoff
doing
demos
for
ongoing
analyst
research.
The
competitive
intelligence
folks
are
adding
and
updating
comparison
pages,
delivering
new
training
around
Azure
DevOps
of
github,
the
market
research,
customer
insights
team,
we're
continuing
to
work
on.
A
While
we
do
a
lot
and
we're
always
looking
to
do
more
and
we're
also
always
ready
to
help,
we
also
always
need
your
help
so
always
feel
free
to
help
us
identify
and
connect
with
customers
be
the
eyes
and
ears
the
website.
What's
working,
what's
not
giving
us
feedback
on
what's
working,
what's
not
from
a
messaging
standpoint
or
an
effect
standpoint
we
need
to,
we
need
to
hear
it
need
to
work
with
it
and,
of
course,
if
you
know
any
strategic
marketing
rockstars
out
there
that
need
to
join
the
gitlab
team,
don't
be
shy!
