First

all,

wanted

highlight
that
one
of
the
things
we
learned
from
the
last
fund
is
like.
We
didn't
have
like
an
explicit
strategic
goal.

now
we
have
a
chance
of
a

better
discourse,
because
we
did
decide
on
it
in
a
in
a
definitely
in
a
centralized
fashion.
We're
definitely
going
to
decentralize
the
process
of
setting
the
strategy,
but
we
needed
to
start
somewhere
and-

I
think
these
are
goals
that
are
great
right.
We
want
to.
We
want
the
challenges
to
help
prepare
a
group
of
people
willing
and
able
to
make
contributions
to
the
ecosystem.

want
to
turn
cardano
into
an
open
source
project.

want
to
accelerate
the
growth
and
evolution
of
the
developer
and
app
ecosystem,
and
it
is
our
responsibility
to
frame
the
discourse
around
this
strategy,

this

leadership

he

out

background

I'm
ex-military.
I
was
military
for
23
years
in
a
highly
technical
field,
then,
for

past
12
years
I've
worked
as
a
defense
contractor
in

analyst
a
frontline
systems,
trainer
of
training
of
over
a
thousand
customers
and
as
a
systems
engineer.

worked
in
many
different
fields
that
are
probably
relevant
to
project
catalyst.
It
gave
me
a
good
background
of
experience
and
a
lot
of
people
have
been
asking
me
in
the
past
year.
They
would
say
who
do
I
vote
for?
That's

I
often
get
people
ask
who
do
I
vote
for
there's
a
lot
of
things.

There's
too
many
things
to
vote
on,
and
they
are
looking
for
some
guidance,
and
so
I
would
type
up
individual
line
items
and
I
would
respond
to
each
individual
person
or
it
would
be
time
consuming,
and
I
was
just
going
kind
of
based
on
what
my
feel
was
for
the
important
projects.
So
what
I
did
for
this
time
around
is,
I
decided
to
preempt
it
because
in
during
fund
six,
I'm
just
gonna
use
some
examples
like
ccvault
didn't
get
funded
and
they
only
asked
for
30k
and
to
me
that
seems
like
a
problem.

wanted
ledger
live
in
cardano
for
gosh
years.
I've
been
looking
for
it
for
years.
I
teach
people
all
the
time
on
how
to
use
crypto
and
the
first
thing
that
a
person
gets
confused
about.

new
person
shows
up

teach
them
how
to
how
to
set
the
firmware
on
their
ledger,
and
then
I
say:

now

that
it's
set
up,
you
install
the
karana,
forget
about
it

it's
confusing

new
arrivals
and
another
thing

talk

a
lot
of
the
folks,
I'm
not
in
any
faction

group

people

an
interest

project

not
in
any
particular

core
infrastructure
still
needs
to
get
built

proposal.

think

gap
is
that
cardano
needs
to
fill

most
important
gaps,

break
things
down
into
need
to
have

nice

an
agile

they
call
threshold
and
objectives,
and
so
I
set
these
three
criteria
shown
at
the
top

self-sovereign

feedback

domain
experts
who
said
we
need
that
self-sovereign

because
there
are
currently
adapt
developers

developers

deploying
dapps
in
a
decentralized
environment.

the

doesn't
mean
you
can't
do
it
in
the

tools

created
in

system
was
approved,
there
was
this
creation
of
new
yellow
cards
and
then
in
front
six.
A
lot
of
things
happened
that
were
brainstormed
during
front
five.
The
new
keyway
system
was
presented
by
iog
and
discussed
with
the
community,
which
was
the
classification
of
the
assessments
in
excellent,
good
and
filtered
out.

It
was
also
the
first
time
when
the
cas
were
allowed
to
be
proposers
and
vice
versa,
and
it
was
also
the
first
time
that
we
we
needed
a
flash
assessment
round
which
lasted
less
than
one
less
than
one
day,
and
this
happened
again
now
in
front
seven.
It
took
a
little
more
time
up
to
one
week
and
this
might
be
a
new
stage
in
the
process
in
the
future.

is
something
that
we
need
to
understand
better,
so
the
idea
here
is
to
just
to
present
that
to
show
that
things
are
evolving
and
we
are
not
in
a
static
state.
Things
are
always
changing
and
most
of
the
time
for
the
better

current
way

changing

improving
the
process,

you

fund

issue

community

a

realized
that
the
current
criteria
might
be
not
enough

us

vcs
are

right
people

there.

that
and
how
to
create
a
protocol
to
challenge
vcs
work,
because
currently
they
are
the
final
layer
that
we
need
to
trust,
but
there
should
be
a
a
protocol,
basically
a
standard
way
for
us
to
challenge
them

to
improve
the
sa
guidelines
based
on
community
feedback.
There
has
been
a
lot
of
discussions,
for
example
regarding
template
assessments.
That
is
not.
This
is
not
clearly
addressed
in
the
in
the
guideline.

the
creation
of
intermediate
assessed
stage,
while
the
proposers
can
still
edit
their
proposals,
because
currently
the
cs
provide
feedback.
But
then
the
proposers
have
to
wait
until
the
next
fund
to
make
some
changes
and
they
don't.
They
are
not
sure
if
the
challenge
is
going
to
be
there
again
or
not
some
ways
also
to
prevent
bot
attacks.
This
is
something
that
we
faced
a
lot
now
in
fan:
seven:
rework
and
improve
the
rewards
of
the
rewards
distribution.

We
are
currently
using
the
lottery
system.
There's
some
discussion.
If
this
is
the
best
way
to
do
that
or
not
and
also
improve,
the
balance
between
cas
and
vcs
rewards,
now
cas
receive
much
more
rewards
than
vcas,
and
the
amount
of
work
required
by
vcs
is
getting
bigger
and
bigger,
and
this
should
be.
This
could
be
thought
again
and
see
if
this
is
the
best
way
to
to
the
best
ratio
or
we
could
improve
that
and
many
more
things
are
being
discussed.

more
voices,
but
also
it
takes
much
longer
to
come
up
with
a
viable
solution,
because
we
would
always
try
to
get
closer
to
perfection
instead
of
something
that
would
work
would
be
good,
but
would
work
much
faster,

some
ideas

move
forward
for
us
to
work.
As
a
group,
we
could
work
on
prioritizing
issues,
see
what
would
make
a
bigger
change.
The
biggest
change
in
the
process
working
in
smaller
groups
to
create
solutions,
come
up
solutions
and
present
them
to
the
community.

holders,
so
I
have
been
experimenting

with
holding
open
office
hours
as
a
place
for
anyone
to
voice
their
concerns
about
catalysts,
raise
issues
or
ask
questions
about
the
circle.

some
issues
that
have
been
raised

prior
office
hours,
auditing
of
funded
proposals,
the
format
of
the
town
hall,
meeting
the
lottery
system
for
rewarding

interesting

see

picked

discussions
as

the
